[[Yeah, it's kind of long and you don't even have to read the whole thing, but...I was bored, and this is what happened.]]
“There’s supposed to be a festival going on today,” A woman with milky white skin and piercing blue eyes casually said.
“Don’t be stupid, we can’t go out during the day,” an equally pale male answered, not bothering to relocate his gaze to the girl who spoke; he kept them glued to a single spot on his dark ceiling. Despite not having looked in the girls direction, he could still feel the glare she shot his way but offered no other response or comment, acting as though the spot on the ceiling was perhaps the most amazing thing to ever grace the world.
“It’s not even daytime anymore, you imbecile,” she shot back, indignantly turning away from him and walking to the opposite edge of his room.
“And?”
“I think we should go.”
“I disagree.”
“Stop being so damn difficult, you have to leave your ‘house’ eventually.”
“No, I don’t think so.”
Another glare. How often would this girl, who Kenric had known for not even a week, send him dirty looks? He had grown quite tired of it and even regretted inviting her to his place the first day they’d met. Ever since the first time she had arrived in his life, she’d done nothing but mock his lifestyle. And quite honestly, he was getting very annoyed of it!
“You’ve been wallowing in your little shack for too long, I’m bored Kenric, let’s do something!” she tried pulling him into a positive mindset by walking over to him and flashing him a brilliant grin, showing off her pearly whites, along with her long, pointed fangs.
“Alexandra,” he groaned, “I’m not in the mood!”
“You haven’t been in any sort of mood since your little girlfriend dumped you, get over it, you said so yourself: it was done, now suck it up and start living again!”
Kenric cracked a small, sad grin, “I can’t live again, I’m dead,” he pointed to himself, “Vampire, you know?”
“Ugh!” she screamed, walking over to a small table pushed in one of the corners, Alex picked up a relatively thick book, and chucked it as hard as she possibly could in Kenric’s direction.
His reaction time—and his whole life in general—having slowed a bit after ending things with Amy, Kenric felt the full impact of the book hitting him square in the chest. Growling, he bounced off the bed and seemed to vanish then reappear directly in front of Alex. “Get the Hell out of my house,” he whispered dangerously.
She laughed (of course); it was a high pitched, ear piercing little squeak of a laugh, “you call this,” she gestured to all her surrounding, “A house? It’s more of a hobo’s house…actually, no, it’s nicer than a hobos abode, it’s more like a hobos mansion,” she put extra emphasis on the last word as though it glorified his living space.
He didn’t move, in fact, it seemed as though Kenric had stopped breathing. Staring straight into her bright blue eyes, she mirrored his deadly look and sneered at him, “What? Did I make you mad?” She pouted, it wasn’t an innocent looking pout, it was more of a mocking look, “Are you going to hit me?” It seemed like a challenge, one that at this point, was becoming very difficult for Kenric to refuse.
Stepping back and away from Alexandra, Kenric flopped back onto his bed, crossing his arms behind his head and staring at that same spot on the ceiling. This whole confrontation was a waste of time.
“Fine then,” Alex chimed, back to her cheery mood, “we can talk about your feelings,” she gushed.
“…Leave and I’ll change.”
And that’s exactly why this elegant looking Vampire couple had emerged—though couple was quite an exaggeration; Kenric could hardly stand the girl most of the time. So why, you might ask, was he hanging around her so much? Soon after having “broken up” with Amy—somewhere around half an hour after leaving her on the roof—Kenric decided he was hungry, she and Kenny just happened to choose the same person to follow in hopes of killing and since then, they’d just clicked. She listened to his problems and he couldn’t help but let her hang around at his place after doing him such a kindness.
“Oh Kenric, I’m so excited!” Alex gushed, trapping his left hand between the both of hers. He eyed her suspiciously but decided not to waste his energy. Why even bother, she’d probably win in the end.
“Yeah, me too,” he said in an obvious monotone, eyes scarcely paying any attention to all the people around them.
“What do you want to do? We could go dancing! Trying to get drunk and eat is kind of pointless and out of the question…we could spend some quality time under the moonlight,” her eyes twinkled but she frowned to his lack of response. “Actually, we could eat,” her voice lowered when she said that, but he shook his head nonetheless. “Come on, we can’t just stand here all day,” the girl whined, pouting and looking up at the man she’d labeled as her date.
Sighing, Kenric gave in, “Let’s go take a stroll under the moonlight, then,” he stuffed his other hand that wasn’t being held into his jeans pocket and walked on.
As the couple made their way down the street, several heads were turned, mainly due to Kenric’s companion. Alex, unlike Kenric, hated having to dress in heavy layers of clothing during the day and spent most of the night flaunting herself to every man that happened to cross her path. Today, of course, was no different.
Alexandra was garbed in a short, knee high halter dress. It was hardly anything special, nothing too fancy or frilly, just a simple white dress. She contrasted immensely with Kenric, who was dressed in dark blue jeans and a thin, dark grey sweater. The way that the two seemed to different and opposite of each other brought back painful memories of when he’d walked down these streets with Amy. No, he thought, I don’t need this right now, he shook his head, trying to push the image of his past love into the deepest corner of his mind.
[[P.S-The reason I'm posting this now is because I'm going to be sort of busy this week, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to come on as often, so...yeah. And plus, it was already done, so I wanted to get it on here in case I couldn't later.]]
