Caroline's breath's came out quick and fast. If he hadn't been such a nuisance then she wouldn't be so dizzy! Stripping down to her bra and underwear while she walked, Caroline fell face first into the water as she got to the point where the water was up to her thigh. Diving down deep into the water, she swam to the very bottom and then just floated there for awhile. No, she couldn't techinically breath underwater. Although by manipulating the water that got into her lungs and pushing it into her body instead, she could stay underwater longer then most people could. Finally, allowing the water to push her up to the surface Caroline took a deep breath of oxygen as she hit the air.
Finally after a few minutes of swimming back and forth, Caroline just laid on her stomach ontop of the water just as if it were some floaty. Finally she was able to get some peace and quiet.

After thinking about what had happened, Cade couldn’t help but feel a little bad for what he’d done to the poor girl. Who was he to mock an innocent little person like her…? Then again, she wasn’t innocent. She wasn’t a poor little girl, in fact, she had been quite the bitch to him the second he’d met her.
And that idea was what propelled him to follow her. So he did, and it didn’t take too long to find her. He arrived at the lake just as she went under water, and Cade settled down on the ground by the edge of the lake. It took her an oddly long time to get up, and he wondered if she’d gotten herself tied up and had drowned. That thought was soon dispelled, because she resurfaced. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it, staring at her back which was facing him.
How odd, he thought, focusing on the strange looking lines of shinier skin on her back. He exhaled, crawling forward, trying to get a better look, trying to figure out if his assumptions were right. Sadly, he was a little too intrigued to notice that he was just a little to close to the edge, and when he lost his balance, Cade fell, not very gracefully, into the water.

Caroline had began to mumble parts of a French song as Cade fell into the water. Shooting straight up, the water acted as hardwood ground as she spun around to see who was with her.
Lo' and behold, whom other but ugly boy. As quick as lightening water flew up and around Caroline acted as a dress. Now her body would be extremely blurred, and therefore he wouldn't be able to see anything. Slowly she allowed it so Cade could stand on water too. Afterall, he followed her so now she had the upperhand. Caroline was too pissed at the fact he saw her half-naked to think of anything else though. "What the hell are you doing here?! Didn't I tell you to leave me alone?!"

Now, swimming wasn’t really Cade’s forte. He was land lover, earth was his element, so until Caro has allowed him to stand on the water, he’d pretty much just flailed around under water, trying not to drown. When he was able to stand up, Cade did so very happily. Spitting out some water, Cade coughed a couple of times, shaking the water out of his head.
“Come on Caro, I’ve already told you a few times, I’ve never been a huge fan of doing as I’m told,” he pointed out, rubbing his eyes. “Besides, I had nothing better to do,” he told her, finally looking straight at her, frowning a bit since he couldn’t see the things on her back anymore. He was still incredibly curious about them, however, that seemed like a question for another time.

When he spoke, Caroline let him drop into the water again for a few seconds then allowed him to stand up again. "What's wrong with you? You follow me around and I don't even know you're freaking name," she said. "*Je vous dédaigne vraiment!" her anger seemed to grow more and more with each passing second. Pretty soon she was rambling on in French on how ugly and stupid he was and how he should go die soon or else she'll drown him right then and there.
(*You know I really despise you!)

Cade hadn’t really expected to be dropped into the water again, and accidentally took in a large gulp of lake water. Coming back up, he coughed it all out on his hands and knees. “Damn it, Caro,” he gasped, standing up again. “What the hell is wrong with you!” he yelled back at her, coughing some more. Getting frustrated by her intelligible rambles in some foreign language, he finally gave up, “My names Cade! Okay? Cade, that’s the name of the guy who stole your first kiss, happy now?!” he yelled, pushing wet strands of his hair out of his eyes.

"Cade?" she said to him in surprise and then laughed. "What a sad excuse for a name!" Caroline although hid the fact that she was pissed because she couldn't shorten his name the way he did to hers. "Didn't I tell you also to stop calling me Caro!? It pisses me off, and I don't think it's really smart to piss me off right now," she then said pointed suggestively at the water below him and quirked her eyebrow slightly. Caroline barely noticed the fact that since she wasn't concentrating on everything, the water dress she had created slowly started to go back to the lake.

“You are so fucking full of yourself!” Cade yelled angrily, pulling at his hair. “And everything about you pisses me off. You’re a self righteous, prissy, obnoxious bitch!” he spat, flailing his arms around. “God, you’re always pointing out everyone else’s flaws, when you have enough for the entire fucking world, for crying out loud. Take a damn good look in the mirror, because you’re no better than a low life piece of shit,” he finished, breathing hard, honestly surprised by what he’d said.

At his words, Caroline's anger meter finally hit the top. Now she truthfully didn't care if he drowned or what, she was just sick of him. Having the water coil around him tightly like a snake, she walked up to him and put her hand to his mouth with an ice cold look on her face. The next moment water started to flow out of the pores of her hands, and it was the equivalent of opening up your mouth and sticking a fire hose in there. "Then stop talking to me, stop following me, and most of all just stop bothering me!" she said waiting for him to pass out any second. "I hate people like you who just think they can barge in on other's people business, I hate it when people like you try to even get close to me! Because you know what's going to happen? Everyone's just going to go away in the end anyways!" she screamed this all in his face and then finally realeased everything letting him fall back into the water while she made the water push herself to the shore. She managed to find her pants quickly, but it was taking awhile to find her shirt. Carefully with her arm covering her breasts despite the fact she had a bra on, Caroline looked around almost frantically for her shirt while her back was to the lake and Cade. In the sun, the scars marring her back were way more noticable. They were thin, and it obvious they were whiplash scars. Some were small in length, while others stretched from the tip of her shoulder all the way down to her rear end. In total there were about 26 permanent scars.

Unable to react in time, Cade stood silently, choking and gasping as gallons of water were shoved into his lungs. Really, there wasn’t much else he could do besides stand there and let her say what she wanted to say, and let her do what she wanted to do...even if it meant screwing his life up a little more.
Her words didn’t hurt much, but they still hit a little close to home. She didn’t want him around, no one wanted him around, and those who did only kept him because they were afraid of what he could do if they tried to get rid of him. Still, he had to give her some credit for actually telling him, but for some reason, it hurt to hear her say those things to him.
Her loud, angry words seemed to get more quiet as her vicious assault continued. The edges of his vision became hazy, and Cade’s eyes drooped unconsciously, the lack of oxygen to his brain finally having an effect. Just when he thought he would go under though, the pressure around his body lessened, and he fell into the lake. Falling managed to revive his senses just enough for him to pull himself out of the lake.
Once out, or rather, once above the surface and hanging on to the edge of the lake for dear life, Cade began coughing out water. An endless amount seemed to spew from his lungs, and he shook involuntarily, his entire body still in a bit of shock. Blinking to gain back his vision, he was greated by the image of his assaulters back.
And there they were again, those shiny long lines, running up and down her back in no apparent fashion. An idea dawned in his muddled mind, and he coughed once again, “those—,” he coughed, “those scars, someone…,” he trailed off, breathing heavily, “someone whipped you,” he finally managed, unable to take his eyes away from her back.

When he spoke about the scars on her back, Caroline immediately tensed up. Spotting her shirt she quickly ran over to it and put it on, while adjusting her clothing though she didn't bother to turn to him when she muttered "So what?" It was something in the past she thought about everyday but really didn't want anyone to know about. She didn't want pity, it was just as simple as that.

Cade hauled himself out of the water and fell onto his back, staring over at Caroline. “Did your parents do it?” he asked, acting as though what happened a few minutes ago was just an unfortunate occurrence. “That’s pretty harsh, my parents were freaks, but they weren’t that bad,” he said, quickly jumping to conclusions.

The way he insulted her parents just struck a nerve, hugging herself tightly she glared at him. "No," she said loudly "They never whipped me," Caroline's heart seemed to speed up in panic that they were even talking about a subject like this. "It shouldn't matter to you who injured me anyways," she then said "You hate me anyways." Thanks to that she hoped that he wouldn't talk about it anymore. She hated even thinking about her grandma, the thought of the old hag just sent boiling oil through her veins.

“I don’t have you, I hate your personality, there’s a difference,” he said pointedly. “You know,” he began, referring to all those talk show’s he’d seen in the past, “when a child is beaten or hurt, they try to repress all those memories and pretend it never happened,” he stopped, thinking back to his own childhood life. He’d never been hurt…physically, at least. “It’s not a healthy way to live, you should confront your problems.”

Why was it that every single word that came out of his mouth seemed to bother her even more? "Are you kidding me?" she said roughly still glaring at him "My problems already gone and dead so I really don't give a shit anymore," Caroline didn't even realize that she was actually talking about something like this with someone. "And, I don't repress anything so you can just shut your trap," she continued to give him the death stare while the water that was dripping from her clothing and hair got sucked into her body. Only in a split second was it like that she hadn't even been in the lake in the first place.
