Kenric watched Amy thrash about in her bed, seemingly looking for someone or something. When her eyes landed on him, he smiled. “Sorry,” he apologized, shrugging and pushing himself to his feet. Sitting down next to her on the bed, he pulled her into a hug and placed her in his lap, cradling her close to his chest.
Gently running his fingers up and down her arm, Kenric thought for a second. “Well,” he began, “I need to get new clothes,” he looked down over where his shirt was lying on the ground and then back at Amy, “And I need to eat something.” Frowning, Kenny rubbed his eyes and slid out from underneath Amy with a small, “Excuse me.” He went to go pick up his shirt and slid it onto his body, too lazy to do up the buttons just yet. “Other than that, though, I have nothing to do. We could get you food, or just hang out in the Market,” he smiled, “Or do anything else, I’m up for anything.” Jumping back onto the bed he turned to look at Amy, waiting to see what she had to say.

She had almost fallen back to sleep when he had her on his lap, her eyes closed, feeling the unusual coldness of his skin and the warmth of her own body clash. She gave a groggy smile, taking comfort in his fingers on her arm, and she gave a small kiss to his neck. Amy nodded when he said he needed clothes, but looked at him when he said he needed to eat. My dream.
Groaning as he left, she lay on the bed, facing him, watching him until he jumped back on the bed with her. "Anything?" She sat up and wrapped her arms around his torso, kissing his neck. She let her hands rest on the top of his pants, and looked up at him. "Really anything?" Amy knew he was going to say no and probably jump away from her, but she could still try. Anything to make sure that horrible dream of hers didn't happen.
Not moving from her spot, she sighed and shook her head. "We do need to talk about us... Maybe we could shop a little later? It is only,"she checked her clock. "Seven in the morning."

Eyes closed, Kenric stopped breathing as Amy’s lips pressed against his neck. His face seemed perfectly peaceful, except for a small hint of conflict and confusion in the way the ends of his lips curled down in a small frown. “Not anything,” he told her, lifting her hands from his pants and up to rest on his chest.
“The early bird catches the worm,” he joked, though his face suddenly turned serious as he nodded his head. “Sure, let’s talk.” Talking seemed innocent enough, but the way she said it made him worry that something bad was coming. He agreed to, nonetheless, whether or not he would regret it was yet to have been discovered.

Smirking when he moved her hands, she sat on her knees so she was face-to-face with him and let her hands slide back down around his waist; pulling him into an odd sort of hug, she kissed his shoulder, the crook of his neck and then his neck. "Well,"she whispered, "A girl can try."
Sitting back, she sighed and thought back those four years ago when they had first met. "Do you remember that night, long ago, when you almost bit me? The only thing that stopped you was me hugging you. A hug. We hadn't even kissed before that night, but you held back from hurting me because you cared." She took his hand in hers and smiled. "Then you made me promise to protect you from yourself and others, no matter what. Even if I had to kick your butt. I know I haven't been there for you for the past few years, but I want keep my promise. And as I said before; there are worse things than bleeding for a loved one."
Amorina looked at him and shrugged. "Think of all the things we can't do together, Kenric. We can't go to the beach, you'll have to watch me sleep all the time, I'll wake up at night worrying where you are... One of us may have to change...."

Yes, Kenric did indeed remember that small conversation they’d had in the woods. It was what had made her so special, he’d trusted her with keeping all the people around him safe, even before they’d formed a strong bond between each other. But that was back then, he had changed. He had stopped taking human prey back then, and he’d succeeded in doing that for a long time, he’d gotten accustomed to the odd taste of animal blood.
The present Kenric didn’t do that anymore, he only drank human blood. He attacked innocent people without thinking anything of it, he left them for any passing bystander to discover the remains. Now, he hardly cared if he hurt anyone, it was his nature and he’d accepted it. There was only one person he didn’t want to hurt, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t.
One of us may have to change. The idea was absolutely absurd! His once blank face immediately become angry, he looked away, turning his head towards one of the walls parallel to him. His eyebrows knit together and his features hardened for a brief second, before he relaxed again and turned back to her. “No.” That was it, that was his one simple, monosyllabic reply.

"No. That's all you can say? NO?!" Infuriated, Amy let go of him completely and stood up, flinging her blind open to let the sun pour in. "Why not, Kenric? Look at us! You haven't aged a bit since you were seventeen. I have! You can barely stand the sun, but I practically live in it. I want kids soon but can you even have them?" Her anger filled her to the point where she left the blinds open and stormed into her bathroom, slamming the door.
Why couldn't he just accept the fact that they were so completely different now? They were either going to make it one way, or be torn apart by the inevitable. Her anger bubbled and boiled until she threw her brush in one general direction; she cursed when she saw it heading for the small vanity mirror and cursed louder once it smashed.
Still in her t-shirt, Amy started picking up the glass pieces and cursed for the third time when she cut her hand on one large piece. It wasn't a deep cut, but it was long and began to bleed. A lot.

Kenric was…shocked to say the least. He’d expected her to be mad, but not like this, and all over such a stupid issue. She was asking him to kill her, to throw her into a world where you scarcely had any control over your decisions, why would he, in his right mind, ever do that?!
He scooted away from the rays of light that poured into her bedroom, retreating to small shaded corner while listening to the rest of his rant. Flinching, he stared at the door that she’d just stormed into, listening to the small commotion she’d started inside. He heard her curse, something shatter, and another stream of profanities. And then…
Eyes flashing a dangerous bright red, Kenric jumped over the bed and over to the bathroom door. With fangs long, exposed and ready, he racked his hand down the door, pressing his ear against it. “Amy, please open the door,” he murmured, loud enough for his soft, alluring voice to go through the door. The careful and in control Kenric had disappeared, this was the real vampire inside of him, and it was hungry.

Amy turned on her water, washing the cut off the best she could. No matter how much she let it drain, though, it still bled. She dabbed some alcohol on it and wrapped it up with toilet paper and gauze and sat down, worried. There was a lot of blood on the glass and some on the floor; it had even stained her sink and sleeve. And she had a vampire in her apartment.
Listening to the raking of fingernails on her door, she felt something was not right. Closing her eyes, she muttered, "Give me on second, Kenric," and began to concentrate. Her power would make his disappear; she did not know what that was going to do. She hadn't ever really used it on him before, but she felt like she was going to have to. With all her might, she made sure if he touched her, he wouldn't have any ounce of power in him.
Opening the door slightly, she stood behind it and waited...

Running his tongue over his fangs, Kenric pushed the door open and clicked his tongue disapprovingly. His normal voice was back and his stance was normal, casual almost, like none of this really mattered. Fangs hidden, he bent down, picking up a shard of glass with her blood smeared all over it. Turning away from her so that his face was in no way visible, he ran his tongue over it, shivering with delight and savoring the wonderful taste.
Kenric turned back to face Amy, throwing the piece of glass on the floor and putting his hands on his hips, “This is very reckless of you, Amorina,” he said, for the first time using her whole name. “I swear, sometimes it’s like you’re trying to get yourself killed.” Shaking his head, he turned back to the floor, once again not facing her. A large grin appeared on his face, fangs one again bared.
He’d given her too much time, she could have prepared herself, she could have a little plan to kill him, to prevent him from attaining his goal. The little sneak, if he wanted her blood, he would damn get it whether she complied or not. Right now, he had to lure her into a false sense of security, make her think everything was okay, and then strike. If that didn’t work, he wasn’t sure what he would do.

She jumped when he threw the glass on the floor, practically glaring at him. Amorina. She smirked; Kenric hadn't used her full name the whole time they had known each other. "I know,"she muttered, walking gently over the pieces of glass, scattering a few and accidently stepping on the smaller ones. Unwrapping the cut, she ran it under the water again and sighed. It seemed to still be going; with her heart pounding as it was, she couldn't exactly help it. Amy started calming herself down while she wrapped it back up.
"I have to jump in the shower,"she said as she walked past him, leaving him in the bathroom. Her concentration only grew, making the force around her stronger. Amy closed her curtains, pushing the sun out for now. This wasn't how she wanted him to do it. She wanted Kenric to turn her because he wanted to be with her forever, not because he was hungry.
She walked back in, towel in her good hand and looked at him, almost seductively. "Do you mind?"

The scent of her fresh blood leaving her body was incredible and sent his senses into a state of euphoria. He just barely suppressed a small moan that yearned to escape his lips. A small whimper escaped instead as she stupidly let her blood run down the drain. It was almost as though she was teasing him, in a vampire sort of way.
Inhaling deeply, Kenric only nodded when she said she had to take a shower. He stood in the bathroom, looking at the ground, her blood spilled all over it, the sink, covered in it, the shards of glass dipped in it. And then she came back. “Not at all,” he said, the normal part of him swallowing loudly. One large part of him thirsted for her blood, another part for her body, and only a small logical piece of him just wanted to get the hell away as fast as possible.

Amy let out an exasperated sigh and looked at him. "Kenric, stop. This isn't you and I'm honestly not sure why you haven't started licking the floor, or my hand."
She moved from the shower to stand next to him and unwrapped her hand, looking now at the begging-to-scab cut. Cooling off, she let her protective-covering down and hugged him, burying her face in the crook of his neck.
"If you can't control it,"she muttered, "Then you know what you have to do, and it may kill you. I don't want you to leave me, but I don't want you to hurt me."
Taking the biggest risk she probably could, she kissed him. Not on his cheek or his neck, but on his lips, knowing that her own death could easily lay behind those lips. Amy kept her face close to his, her forehead on his and sides of their nose touching. "Please," she whispered. "You can fight this, you've done it before. I love you, Kenric."

“What are you talking about? This is me, the real me,” he looked down at the floor as he listened to the last part of her comment. How insulting, to think he was so weak he’d throw himself to the floor and lick all her blood off the floor. He was a little more dignified than that.
“Oh, but I can control it,” he purred, closing his eyes for a long time and opening them up again, “I don’t want to leave you,” the bad side of him lied, “I couldn’t hurt you,” he lied again, his voice full of very convincing honesty. Her kiss caught him slightly off guard, he hadn’t expected anything like this from her, but he returned the gesture, nonetheless. The kiss was flat, void of any love or compassion, like kissing a rock. A cold, lifeless stone, which was exactly what he was.
Her words rang loudly in his head, echoing through his entire body. “Fight it?” What an absurd thought. And yet, that other sane part of him wanted to listen, too bad it was silenced by his lust for blood. Herding her into a smaller area, he waited until her back found the wall before raising both his arms to serve as a barrier next to her. “And what if I don’t want to fight it?!” he screamed at her, his face horribly conflicted, jumping from scared to angry.

She listened to his words, but just wanted him to stop talking. This wasn't her Kenric, the one she had known so long ago. He had left the moment that first drop of blood had left her skin. She really had given him too much credit; he was too weak for this other part of him.
Amy glared at him when he back her against the wall, listening to him scream at her. That was it. She was sick and tired of being the victim here, the one everyone wanted to kill. "You don't wanna fight it?"she growled, glaring into those frightening red eyes. "Fine." With her hands behind her back, she had began to pick at the cut until it started to bleed again. With every ounce of energy she had, fueled with adrenaline, Amy pulled her arm back and aimed to punched him. She was too angry to slap him; she even aimed it for his face. With her left, bleeding hand, she reached out and let every ounce of her power wrap around her and spread to cover the entire bathroom.
"I am so sick of everyone treating me like some kind of FOOD!"she spat, feeling her body start to shake. "I thought you would be different, considering our past, but no, of course not! If you want my blood so much, fucking take it."

Normally, a punch to the face even by the strongest man in the world would hardly even hurt, but this one, this one seemingly insignificant fist to his face was extremely painful. Not the bruise or cut kind of pain, but a deeper one, one that resonated and seemed to shake his whole body into a state of paralysis.
He ignored the scent of her blood as it spread all over the room, assaulting his senses. And then, something strange happened, Kenric himself hardly understood what was going on. His fangs seemed to vanish in a matter of nanoseconds, and his blood red eyes jumped back to their natural brown color. There’s was no intense thirst driving him anymore, he was…normal.
He was so lost in this new revelation that he hardly heard most of the beginning of her screaming rant. He looked up just in time to see her shaking body and her angry face. Take it. Scared out of his mind for her reaction, his loss of his power, and everything else going on in this room, Kenric hoped to his feet and sprinted out of the door. He felt his fangs elongate and grow back, and the need for blood to return, but he was far too shaken now, and without even a second glance, he sprinted out of her apartment.
