Enders put up the projections and waited for the last of the other students to leave before he started talking."Did you know that this is my first time teaching?"
He looked up, but didn't wait for an answer. "I've been many things in my long lifetime, but I have never taught before. This makes this doubly hard for me to do my job. When you talk during my class, it casts doubts on my ability to impart knowledge in way that will interest those who are not already fascinated by the subject."
He was writing something down in a leatherbound book, but it made no apparent impact on his ability to speak. "If you are not interested in what I have to say, you have every right to switch out of this class. Now, if what's happening is truly an inability to focus, we can work out the issues that are distracting you. So..." He stopped writing and gazed evenly at the two. "Anything on your minds?"
---
Wes cast a sidelong look at his lab partner before adamantly shaking his head. "Nope, I got nothing." This, naturally, was a lie. He knew that his attention span would shorten as the year went on, but there was no way he wanted to talk about that particular thing now. "I'll try harder to pay more attention in your class, Sir."

Layette looked at him and stood. Looking over to her lab partner, she sighed at his quickness to be defeated. Looking back over towards the teacher, she sat down on the desk. "I apologies sir for disrupting your class." She said as she looked over to her lab partner and than back to him.
"We where just introducing ourselves like you said to. I learned why he was in this class and I told him why I was." She said and looked to Wes. "I admit I was rude but I have no regrets in learning more about my lab partner." She said and looked back to the teacher. Her dark blue eyes where now lighter as it began to rain outside. She did not do it, but her eyes where reacting and that was the reason why her hair grew a little longer.

Enders sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Well, make sure it doesn't happen again. Take the homework and go, Younglings. My old bones are aching and I desperately need to take a nap."
He closed the leatherbound book and went to sit in a chair located off to the side of the room. Rain. It always disagreed with him.
---
Wes stood up and smiled at Layette as he picked up a worksheet. "Thank you for standing up like that. It was cool." He frowned for a second and added, "Is your hair... growing?"

She looked at the teacher and nodded. "It will not happen again sir." She said and watched him leave. Her eyes went back to Wes as she only smirked when she heard what he had to say.
"It is." She said as she walked over to her backpack and started to pack everything up. "My eyes and hair change to the weather." She said and looked up at him and smiled. "I am basically a human barometer..." She said and laughed a little and looked at him.
"Why don't you stick up for yourself and admit it was my fault.." She said and put her backpack over her shoulder. "Because it was."

Wes raised his eyebrows. "Cool."
He listened to her, then shrugged. As he walked out the door, he whispered to her and honestly admitted, "Don't worry yourself. I was going to get in trouble for that kind of thing sooner or later. My attention span is... not long."
At this point, he had gotten a guarded look on his face, but it was mixed with a weariness. The moment he was blocked from sunlight, he turned a little pale. It wasn't the pale of white-skin, but the pale of unhealth. "... so... what dorm you in?"
---
The minute he sat down, John fell asleep again, snoring slightly.

She followed his lead and walked outside the classroom, staying within hearing reach of Wes. "Attention is never an issue when it comes to something you like...you just need to find something interesting about the class." She said and looked up and down the halls as she noticed the guarded look on his face.
"Ruby." She said and looked at him, worried.
"Sir?" Aiden said as he gently knocked on the door, noticing he was sleeping.

Enders jerked, but didn't wake up. Like many old people, he was capable of very deep sleep.
---
Wes smiled wanly. "You'll find I have a knack for losing concentration even with the most interesting of topics. For me, it's not a matter of liking or disliking a topic. It's matter of other thoughts taking precedence... or me wondering what I'll be doing with this information later."
He began walking, but suddenly reeled and caught himself on the wall. "Uhh...."

"Hey...Wes.." She said as she noticed he was going into the wall. Touching his shoulder gently, the paleness he was made her very nervous. \\
"You should sit down." She said in a soft voice.
"Sir?" Aiden said a little louder, walking into the classroom.

Enders drifted out of sleep when he percieved somebody calling for him. "...yes? I'm awake now." He opened his eyes, blinking a few times to get the still-sleepy dimness from his sight. "...Aiden? Is it class time already?"
---
When he felt her hand, he pushed himself away from the wall and said stubbornly, "I'm fine. It's too early for me to do this kind of thing." His features took on a steely cast, but he still remained pale. "Want to go to the dining hall with me? I think this is only happening because I'm hungry."

"Yeah. Sure." She said, still holding onto his shoulder just in case he fell down. She was worried and the pale look on his face made her worry even more. "Food should bring mroe color to your cheeks." She said and took his arm. "Lets go." She said.
"Sorry to wake you sir." He said and looked at him. "And no it is not, I would like to apologies for how forward with my questions I had during class." He said, with a sympathetic look on his face.

Enders fixed the boy with a hard look. "Your apology is not accepted and I must warn you to never do that again. Questions are a sign that the student is listening. When you ask questions, I can get a feel for where I need to focus the lesson or how I should teach a unit."
He made no attempt to stand with his joints feeling like they did. "I do have something to ask, though... Are you worried about something? Your questions seem... rather focused on one particular issue."
---
Wes let her take his arm, but made sure he was holding most of his weight. The last thing he needed was to appear weak to his peers. "Alright. You know where it is, right?"
||Would you like to start a new board in the dining hall, or leave this as is and just change locations within the thread?||

||We can stay here? unless you want to move. It would be easier than having two threads in two different places||
He looked at him and sighed, hearing about what he said as he looked to the desks. Walking over to one, he sat down on top of it and looked at the teacher. "It is hard for me to explain it sir...my family...my life...is all in pieces. As well...I lost one of my sisters to.."He said and looked down and back at the teacher. "you will think of me as crazy but I lost her to her reflection..." He said and looked at him, knowing he would need to explain once more.

Enders nodded, his eyes growing sad. "What a world we live in. No, I do not think you crazy. You saw what happened with the bubbles earlier, right? Well, that might be the most normal thing that I've conjured yet."
He leaned back in the chair, but his eyes remained focused on Aiden. "I'm sorry about your sister. I admit, I'm curious about her, but I will not ask you to do anything you find hard or overly painful."
||Gyah, this is as much as I can post. I have to go! We can keep the thread as one- in my next post, I'll direct them into the dining hall, alright?||

Aiden just looked at him and said nothing in the beginning. "I have a messed up family life. The more I talk about it..the easier it is for me to accept. The reason why I ask is because I want her back...I want my whole family back together. I want to stop these dreams..I want to be normal." He explained as he looked out the window at his own reflection.

Jonathan listened carefully, then leaned back and took on a pensive cast to his features. He thought for a moment, then quietly commented, "I am no psychologist. I am merely an anatomy teacher."
But he shrugged and continued, "However, if you like, I can try to help. Best to start with one problem at a time, yes? Talk to me."
---
Wes let her help him into the dining hall, getting more weak on his feet as time went on. However, the ordeal wasn't over. He would have to eat something slowly and keep it down.
He grabbed a bowl of salad garnished with cranberries and almonds... no dressing. "Alright," he said in a tired voice to Layette, "What are you having?"
