"Of course," he agreed with a smile.
And in answer to her question... was there really a question? He said before really thinking, "By ourselves."
Then his eyes had strayed towards his half-sister and her two companions. "Pues... I not liking Caroline con estos... strangers by herself..." God, he was torn. It was like, like.... having sworn an oath and being asked to break it, but only in the most superficial way. But it was still breaking it and he felt bad about that little bit.
Plus, while Nikolai didn't seem to be a bad sort, this Hector's friendliness with Caroline made Emilio uneasy. He just didn't like the guy- there was no specific reason which was why he couldn't tell anybody about this preoccupation he felt.
"Maybe... we stay within looking..." Emilio hated how choppy his English was. It was such an effort to find the right words, though.

Amorina noticed his hesitation and looked over at the group. "You don't like one of them, do you?" It was more of a statement than a question. So, maybe that was why he had taken her hand again. They didn't bother her much; then again, she wasn't paying much attention to them.
"We don't have to leave her. I know if that was mi primo, I wouldn't want to leave her." She smiled over at him and gave his hand a light squeeze. Him being uncomfortable was one thing Amy did not want at all. It could scare him off.
At his suggestion, she shrugged. "It's up to you." Still, she took a small step towards them. If he really didn't want to leave Caroline, she wouldn't blame him. They were family, and he had promised to keep them safe. If he left her, he might feel guilty for it.
She wanted to be able to talk to him and to get to know him better, but Caroline was family. Family had to stick together. It was a fact even Amorina knew.

Emilio smiled tiredly, "Is that clear? I hope not to make a... a bad impression." He rubbed the back of his head ruminatively, his eyes on his sister and her two new companions. "I would... feel much better if we stay near her. She... feels lot of pain for a past... break-heart... I fear for her- too quick to jump back in. Wants to numb it. Entiendes?"
He let go of her hand slightly to turn it over within his. Tracing the lines of her palm with a finger, he gave a proccupied sigh.
But that was over within milliseconds. Emilio wasn't the type to wish his troubles on other people, especially those he liked. Hence his refusal to tell her what he'd seen back on Leo's roof. Or his inclination to avoid telling anybody about his dislike of this Hector fellow.
He grinned. "We stay close enough to see her. Just make sure she can find m- us... si ella necesita ayuda."

Amorina nodded. "It's the worst way to get over it, but the easiest." Letting her smile fade, she sighed. She knew how Caroline felt; at first, she had opted for that too. To go out, grab a townie, one-night-stand, and say good-bye again. Thankfully, she had decided against it.
"That never works, though. It just numbs the pain, it doesn't make it go away." She glanced down at her left hand, catching a glimpse of the small scar. Damn him.
Amorina let a small smile creep onto her face as she glanced over at Emilio. "I guess it depends on how you handle things. I do feel bad for her... It's never fun or easy." It hadn't been fun for Amy, just more of a realization. It was like somebody had slapped a giant "OFFICIALLY OVER" sticker on that relationship.
Her smile grew. "Okay." Maybe now they would be able to talk.

Without thinking, Emilio leaned over and kissed her. He'd seen something in her face when she'd looked at the scar on her hand and it had made him so angry for just a split second. Then again, he might have imagined that just because the scar reminded him that some idiot had hurt her when he gave her up. Despite that man's loss being Emilio's gain, he still got worked up over such things.
And her smile had made him all the more conflicted. She was a bright ray of sunshine through an overcast day, a gold-colored fish in a pond of murky black catfish, a crescendo in a song... a leap that touched the sky during a dance.
Almost immediately, though, he drew back with a guarded look. "Lo siento. I did not think. Is... wrong of me... take advantage of bad time." Dangit. He'd gone and broken to smithereens the promise he'd made to himself earlier. No advances! Well, look at that. Just going and kissing her like that- imbecil!

Mostly surprised, he laughed "Yeah, very," with a small blush he wrapped his arms around Clara's waist and leaned in to give her a deep, passionate kiss. He decided right then and there, that this was the best a moment could get anyhow.
(ooc; sorry for the shortness. >.>)

The kiss startled her, sending her body into a flurry of emotions. Her mind didn't know what to do; she was ecstatic that he actually kissed her, she was scared of what this could do to them, she was a little sad that Kenric had made the situation and timing bad, she was mad. Amorina was furious that because of what had recently happened, Emilio was apologizing for it.
"Please don't apologize." She pulled him into a hug, pressing herself against him. "The timing is fine. Who cares about what happened. It's in the past, and he wasn't the same person I had loved as a kid." Amy pulled away and shrugged. "La persona que amé es muerta. Seeing him again just confirmed it. It's time I stop trying to find somebody who I should have buried long ago."
Saying it hurt, but it made her feel better. Amorina knew everything she was saying was true, and it felt good to know it was really how she felt. She didn't want to love Kenric anymore, and she didn't. If he wanted her back, she wouldn't go crawling back to him. She'd probably try to fight him.
Pulling away from him enough so she was face-to-face with him, her arms still around Emilio, she smiled. "I've found somebody mucho mejor than him anyway." And then she returned that kiss, softer, more timid, afraid he would pull away again.
Clara gave a soft laugh at his answer, and her body went numb with his kiss. She had never been kissed by anyone like that; it sent shivers throughout her body and made her mind shut down. The only thing Clara was aware of was Jared. That crush of hers grew with every moment. Slowly, she pulled away from him, her face red.
"Wow."

Emilio was sure he caught the gist of all of the stuff said in English just because of the Spanish interjected for his benefit. Then again, he would have understood anyways. Based on tone, her actions, everything...
Her kiss was like electricity, turning his blood to fire and making all the little hairs on the back of his neck stand on end. Yowza, said his heart right before it started racing. He shivered happily and his own arms reached up, one to splay on her lower back, the other to the back of her head. Right, even if he had still felt an inkling of doubt about them, this would have smashed that inkling to tiny shards and then set fire to the shards and d*** it all if they didn't burn, but by God, he'd keep trying until they were nothing more than ashen dust.
When he broke the kiss off, it wasn't for lack of passion. It was so that he could look into her eyes, a big goofy grin on his face. He was drunk on happiness, perhaps. Euphoria with a 190 proof... bottled right here in good old Somewheresville. It was some pretty good, and pretty powerful stuff.
Oh, it didn't matter that he didn't quite know what to say other than, "Wow." He had never found himself in quite this situation before.

His response made her happier than she had been in a few days. Scratch that; a few years. She hadn't even been this happy when Kenric had come back. With Emilio, she wouldn't have anyone to try to compare him to because, honestly, there had only been one guy she had ever dated and he was dead now.
If she could have melted, she would have. Amorina revelled in his touch; usually, would have had to brace herself for the abnormally cold touch of the vampire. Now, she could fully relax. Still, small bumps covered her body, but not from being cold. From the way he held her, the way he kissed her.
When he pulled away, she was worried until she saw his grin. Amorina felt her face grew hot with blush, and she gave a small laugh. "Yeah. Wow." Nonetheless, she hugged him again and slowly backed away.
"Well... Now what?" It was one of few times Amy was speechless and had no idea what to do. It would give for a few awkward moments after that little episode of theirs.

Emilio shrugged. "Nos vivimos. We... take it as it comes." He turned and held out his arm. Might as well walk- and the proposed link was more than just gallantry. Emilio could not feel his legs... in their place were two columns of gelatin and he was certain that without help, he would not be able to walk in a straight line.
He shot a glance over to where he'd last seen Caroline and the two men- they were still there, but his eyes met Caroline's and she seemed to be holding back laughter... or was that a sort of pained look of disapproval in his actions? He'd have to ask her later- it was too hard to tell here and he didn't want to jump to conclusions.
Satisfied that his half-sister had not been abducted, he returned his brown eyes to Amy's face and gave her one of his better smiles.

Something within her didn't want to stop kissing him. She was afraid this had only been a one-time thing, that he would regret it and make sure he wouldn't do it again. Amorina didn't know why she was worrying so much; that kiss should have confirmed that he was definitely still very much interested, and that they were going somewhere. Still, she had that ounce of worry tugging at her stomach.
Amorina took his arm, pushing away the worry. Nothing was going to ruin today now. Everything was going wonderfully; Caroline had found friends, Amy's question had been answered in a very nice way, it was beautiful out... The only bad thing that could happen was if the world imploded on itself.
Taking a small step in the direction of the group, she looked back to his eyes, feeling the blush still on her face. And the worry hit again. What if this was just a "friends-with-benefits" deal? She wasn't sure she would be able to deal with that. She looked away for a moment, telling herself that he wouldn't do that.
Right?

She looked away. A strong desire to know what she was thinking overtook Emilio, but he respected her enough to not pry. Asking questions was a lot like seeking the future... there were going to be answers some of the time, but not all of them were meant for you. And, of course, there was no guarantee you'd like what you found out.
Still, Emilio reached up and turned her blush-tinged face back to his, his eyes questioning and curious. "Que pasa, Bonita?" he asked in a low tone, almost a murmur. He turned them away from the direction of the group, not willing to go back just yet.
Caroline cast a look back and then glanced at a nearby booth, as though letting him know where they were headed next. Emilio inclined his head slightly, but his eyes snapped back to Amy's.
The sky overhead was taking on the golden tones of late afternoon. The sunset over this festival promised to be a wonderful one.

His touch made her start, but she smiled at him. When he began to lead them away from the group, she merely followed. It would be good to be able to talk more.
"Lo siento, Emilio. I'm just scared." She shrugged. "I don't want to be hurt again..."
It pained her to have to say this; she didn't want him to think she thought bad about him. A large part of Amy had faith that he wouldn't hurt her like that. The other, smaller, worried part was screaming that he might. It was a possibility she had to think about, one that made her extremely scared of what had just happened.
Amorina slowly glanced at the sky and let her smile grow slowly. It was going to be beautiful out, she could feel it already. It made her relax a little until she looked back to his eyes.

Emilio's expression clouded over for a second as he withdrew within himself. Slowly, as to make sure that he didn't say it wrong, he affirmed, "I... promise... not hurt you the way he did."
He was saddened that she would think about such things... but then, her pain had been inflicted so recently. It WAS too early for all of this. He was torn between doing what was the right thing and what was the thing that would make him feel good. Already, he wished he had not done what he did, wished that he had waited until she was fully healed.
He felt his knees grow weak at his choices and he abruptly sat down on a very conveniently near-to-them bench. "I never... never want to... hurt you."

Amorina smiled at him. Both parts, the larger and smaller, rejoiced at his words. She knew Emilio was better than that; he didn't seem the kind to hurt somebody that way. "Thank you." Squeezing his arm slightly, she noticed the change in his manner. Something was wrong.
Sitting beside him, she placed her head gently on his shoulder and sighed. "I don't want you to hurt me either." Amy knew it had to be what she had said. What else could it be?
Sitting up, she took her arm from his and looked down at her hands. It was hard to try to find the words she wanted to say. "I'm sorry. I didn't want to ruin your day." Her body was a mixture of sadness and anger. Amorina was sad that she had just ruined something so amazing; she was angry that Kenric had come back into her life and ruined it.
