But Who Counsels the Counselor?

With one last screech of his chalk, Cade backed away from his chalk board with a curious quirk to his face and a tight pout of his lips. His head tilted as he sat upon his wheeled computer chair and he scratched his chin. Something was off with his work and he couldn’t quite figure it out. Luckily it was after class hours, so he would be saved from the embarrassment of his student’s thoughts on his inability to complete his task properly. He had to look away from his chalk board, he had to clear his mind so he could deduce what the problem was. He rocketed from his chair and began to pace through the aisles of desks, clearly in deep thought.
He ceased at his window, peering outside as though the soft blanket of snow was going to give him his answer, but it could not. The only key to the figuring out his problem was his mind. He stormed back over to the board and snatched the chalk once again, a sudden streak of confidence splashing him like a tsunami. “No, that has to be it, there’s no other way it could possibly work” he deduced as he began to scribble on the board some more. He bit his tongue as he continued on with what would most likely be his magnum opus.
With a frustrated grunt though, he retreated from the board again, wiping his chalky hands upon his equally white pants, almost staining his snazzy red vest in the process. “No no! It’s all wrong!” he shouted as he looked back at his diagram. “If I’ve already slept with her, then I can’t sleep with her because they’re friends. I already did her a good number, but then she reported me. Heh” he explained as he gestured to the different points on his diagram. “Turns out, people don’t like it when you shebang your co-workers.”
Cade’s fingers dug into his orangey beard bristles as he closely inspected the names of his female co-workers on display, his eyes being caught on the name Serenity Hikaru. He sighed and very slowly turned his head away. “I wanted one thing. ONE thing. Just like everything else, it slips right out of my fingers” he sighed as he shook his head in defeat. He slipped an eraser into his palm and stepped up to the board yet again. “That’s what I get for pretending to be something I’m not. I could’ve had it all if I was still Cade Lesang, but now I’m a math teacher. Such a great trade off” he rambled as he passive-aggressively wiped away his graph, Serenity’s name being the last. He was hesitant at first with his brush, but he eventually caved and made it look as though nothing had been on the board to begin with.
Cade proceeded to twirl his chair around and sat down adamantly, his countenance suggesting that he was in deep concentration with his hand plastered to his cheek. In addition he twiddled his fingers on his desk, adding with “heh, I think my love life is dysfunctional, there’s probably some kind of love pentagon going on somewhere in the school” he chuckled at his own comment, as he normally did.

The dorm room had been unsettling for the small boy as he felt there were many things he wanted to change about his dorm. The new life here seemed different and the academy as it was called, was a place far larger then what he was used to. At least far larger then he could normally be allowed access to. He woke up early this morning taking one of the mana potions he was suppose to drink as he felt a lot livelier now, then grabbing hold of his new note book and a small pen he began to make his way through the corridors and down the long passage of doors.
He had not noticed that he was in a hurry as he had been told to meet with his counselor and from what he could tell, this guy was probably another handler. He seemed to always have someone filling this role and he was not sure what their true purpose was other than to help him in some way. As he followed the directions getting tired of all this walking as he finally found the classroom. He read the name above the door.
"Ca...de... L..." as he gave up on the last name he entered the classroom and what he saw was a strange man twirling around in his chair like some crazy guy. Though the small boy did understand the joys of spinning around in circles, was spinning in that chair not dangerous.
As the boy interrupted the man by softly speaking "Mister Cade Les..." as he was not sure of how to pronounce the rest of the words. He paused for a moment getting nervous as he looked down and continued. "I am Kotaro, you suppose to be my counselor and I came late cause the directions were really bad."
He stood there while thinking he was late he actually got up really early. The one thing the boy realized far too late, was that he had not bothered to change out of his sky blue pajamas. The small fluffy white cloud patterns and the fact that he was barefoot as well. His hair was also in a mess, but the boy had brought his note book and pen which is what he thought was most important at the time. He had yet to realize this mistake though as he stood before his counselor

Before Cade could spiral into another mental breakdown, what looked to be a young boy entered his classroom. He promptly ceased his rambling, peering over to the child as he began to stutter his name like some sort of foreign exchange student trying to grasp the English language. Probably didn’t make it any easier that his surname was French. Speaking of which, as the boy attempted to mouth his surname, he made a ‘les’ sound instead of a ‘lem’, which gave Cade a curious frown. Was he about to say Lesang? It made Cade question just how long the boy had been waiting outside his door and how much he heard of his ramblings because otherwise he had no idea where he would get the impression that his surname was Lesang anymore. He changed that nearly a decade ago and every documentation he had should have his last name written as Lemaire, otherwise he’d be suing the school big time for leaving his previous identity out in the open like that.
Regardless of that, Cade’s curiosity peaked as the boy mentioned he had come for counselling and in addition to that, made sound like it was a scheduled meeting. The math teacher’s unnaturally bright orange eyes meandered over to the laptop open on his desk and his hand lingered over to the keyboard so he could access his E-mails. Surely enough, he had a couple new messages, though the one that caught his attention was titled ‘HEY JACKASS, ACTUALLY READ THIS ONE’, even in capital and bold letters. He clicked it and the message read as such:
“I have put our newest student, Kotaro, under your care. I set up a meeting for you two tomorrow afternoon, be sure to read up on his file before then.
PS: if you ever dare touch my sister again I’ll…”
Cade didn’t really feel the need to read the rest of the E-mail and closed his computer after that. Interesting, a student he was assigned to counsel actually came to him for advice. He had no idea why it was such a rare occurrence, but he could hypothesize that either his students just so happened to be very independent, or they had heard rumours of him being incredibly irresponsible. It didn’t bother him if they were both factors in it because that meant less students would bother him after school hours.
For the time being though, Cade had an unexpected visitor to take care of. His gaze fell upon the very young looking boy as he reached under his desk for a folding chair. He propped the chair open and set it down at the other end of his desk so the two of them could have a better positioning in terms of seats. He coughed in a manner that altered his voice into a more serious tone. “Yes, Cade Lemaire. That is I” he corrected as though he was someone of great importance and adjusted his vest in a very proper manner. “Please, sit down, I’ve been expecting you for quite some time” he fibbed as he pointed to the seat he placed down yet again.
“Just a quick reminder, do you know about your power yet? If so, please explain it to me in your own words so I can have a better idea of what your stance is on it and we can move on from there” the man very smoothly explained. He decided not to speak about Kotaro’s choice in clothing considering that he had already explained that he had been late. Besides, he looked to be no older than twelve, so he could easily get away with running around in silly pajamas all he wanted.

The counselor had some really weird eyes, he began to wonder if this guy even counted as human. This small bit of information was not that important, but a part of him felt the need to look down upon humans who should serve him one day. The counselor had a strange device, that looked similar to what the other people in the institute always had with them, he had never bothered to ask about it since he was more interested in other things at the time like speaking. The boy was taught to be obedient, but he was not one to be able to sit still too long during certain occasions or when something caught the small boy's interest.
The boy's counselor closed the strange device then gave the boy a strange gaze as he nearly felt like glaring back at him, but was a bit more curious to why he was sent to receive counseling from this man. The boy felt on guard for a bit as his eyes focused on the man reaching out for something under the strange unusual table, as he thought back the people called it a desk not that he really understood the difference. The man then unfolded not a weapon, but simply a folded chair of sorts as it was placed on the other end of the desk. The man said his name was Cade Lemaire, as he wondered if he was thinking of something strange. However the earlier mistake already slipped the boy's mind as he was not sure how to address the counselor to begin with.
It seems the man had been expecting him for a while and must have been busy on the strange device to help pass the time.
"I have the power to change things" as he looked down unsure of which words to use to describe his powers as he then looked up to his counselor and then asked. "If you have something small, like a spoon i can show you my power." After his declaration the boy gave a determined look in his eyes, as if he felt he wanted to and had to show off his powers. More then anything he wanted others to recognize his power and submit to him so that he would one day be able to rule them not with fear, but for them admiring how great his power is.

As the young looking boy began to encroach on his space, Cade pulled out a pen and a rather extravagant notebook of foreign design in order to look as though he gave any sort of care for the boy’s problems. It wasn’t that he was completely uncaring for the boy, but he’d rather be doing a variety of other tasks than helping the boy. From his perspective, it would just be more beneficial for both of them if he was assigned a different counsellor, but he supposed that it was kind of required in order for him to keep his job.
Kotaro described his powers in the most basic of terms, which Cade guessed that it was to the best of his ability considering that he couldn’t even pronounce the math teacher’s name on the first go either. It was bare bones, but he could still wrap his head around it considering that the boy’s powers had to be somewhat similar to his own in order for him to be assigned to Mr. Lemaire for counselling. Cade popped his pen into his mouth like a cigar, gazing around his desk in search of something that he wouldn’t mind never getting back. His eyes fell back on the utensil in his mouth and with a shrug he pinched the pen with two fingers. In a few seconds, some form of liquid secreted from his palm and in the blink of an eye it shaped itself into a pike-like object and eventually grew the other pen’s more notable attributes until it was an exact replica, though it was non-functional. The teacher then lightly flicked the writing utensil Kotaro’s way.
He grew a false smile, as though he was expecting to be charmed with whatever the boy was about to do. Given his young appearance, Cade didn’t feel he would be incredibly impressed, though that wasn’t the boy’s fault. At the age that Cade suspected the youth to be, the teacher couldn’t do much of anything impressive with his power either. Well, nothing impressive outside of counterfeiting anyways. “Alright, let’s see it then” he lightly commanded as he popped open the mini-fridge under his desk and retrieved a water bottle. He didn’t know why, but he felt like he’d be cloning more than just that pen by the end of the day, might as well keep himself hydrated.

The boy watched as his new counselor was playing with a pen in his mouth. The boy was unsure what the man was gazing for and he was a bit disappointed that this guy was also going to take notes on his ability. The boy was not sure why people had such a hard time remembering his ability, although the scientists simply said there was information they needed to write down that he would understand one day. Sadly that one day became a day that might never come even now as the boy was waiting as patiently as he could.
The boy was a bit shocked as his eyes widened slightly as the pen split in two. However the amazing part was not the splitting, but the fact that there were now two pens to play with. The boy was a bit distracted as the pen nearly hit him in the face as the boy was startled slightly in shock as he caught the pen with both hands dropping his notebook and pen on the floor. The man was just smiling in a way much different from the scientists or other people he had met before, this smile seemed fake?
The counselor finally asked him to show his ability as the boy took a deep breath and picked up his own pen as well. "I really wanted a spoon", he liked the silvery shine of spoons and also he had mainly been taught to use his power on spoons, but a pen was not impossible to use either. The counselor got a water bottle as if he was not even really interested, or maybe he was just thirsty. Too much time was being wasted and he shook his head and got serious.
"Okay, let's do this Kotaro" as he spoke to himself, something he had become used to from his long time inside the pit.
The boy took a deep breathe and focused his mana into the pen given to him making it a bit longer, but as it was now its shape was the only thing that changed as he held out the pen that was now longer. However he then focused mana into his own pen as well making that one also longer but its appearance seemed to darken slightly. He then threw the pen given to him in the air and like a sword swung his own pen at it breaking the pen given to him like it was a twig as it snapped, however the small boy was a bit careless as the range was a bit out and the pen managed to cut a portion of the corner of the desk off as it slid and fell on the floor.
He was not one to be much for apologizing, but he was a bit careless as he sighed. "Sorry", he had used his first ability having not shown the full extent of his ability yet. He had made both pens longer to show that he could changed their shape, but the one he made denser showed that through this strengthening even a pen could become a dangerous weapon. Though this display might have been something minor as he took in a breath.
"Do you have something big, i have another ability i want to show you"

The boy fumbled with the pen for a bit, though he eventually got hold of it and proceeded to complain about how it wasn’t a spoon. Cade merely rolled his eyes at the comment, deciding not to speak up about it since he was well aware that children were just naturally snobbish. Where did Kotaro expect him to get a spoon anyway? It’s not like he would’ve kept one in his desk for safekeeping for a very specific moment like this. Then again, he was a man with a mini-fridge in his classroom, so he supposed anything could be possible.
Cade uncapped the water jug and began to guzzle down the liquid in order to regain some of the supply that he lost. A pen didn’t take up a ton from his body and he was naturally able to replenish quicker than most humans due to his body’s natural adaptation. Regardless of that though, as he continued to drink he watched the boy through the invisible plastic and observed as the utensils that the boy held expanded and distorted in shape. He thought for a moment on why the boy had asked him for something to use when he already held a pen of his own, but he merely passed it off as the child wanting to show off. He could relate, but that didn’t mean he sympathized or approved.
The boy went on with his presentation, one of the two pens grew a dark aura to it and the boy proceeded to use it as a lightsaber. While for most children, it would mostly be pretend, but in this instance the weaponized stick sliced right through the other pen and carelessly careened toward Cade’s counter, threatening to possibly harm him in the process. Being one who grew up on the streets as an infamous drug runner’s son, Cade was usually very alert to danger, because otherwise he would’ve been long dead before now. He kicked off from his desk, allowing the wheels on his computer chair to do most of the work as he cried out “Jesus!”
Despite Mr. Lemaire’s reaction, he came out of the display rather unharmed. In fact, the most damage the kid had done was a slight trim to Cade’s workspace. Some could say he was cutting corners. The teacher recovered very easily, not entirely ticked off considering that he’s been put in much worse life threatening situations in his life. That past moment wouldn’t even make his top twenty. Though a warning was still warranted. “Alright kid, life lesson number one, don’t direct your demonstrations at your instructor, because next time you might end up having to find a replacement” he replied in good humour.
He launched out of his seat, deciding that it was probably be best to be on his feet and prepared for the boy’s next trick considering that he was insistent on using a bigger object. Seeing the damage that he’d down with just small tools, he was imagining that he might no longer have a desk if things were to continue the way they were. “Okay, how about that desk there?” Cade suggested as he pointed to the student desk behind Kotaro. The school was going to be the ones who pay for the replacement, not him, so he guessed there was no harm in letting the student display their powers with it. Although, he would probably need a backup plan if things were to go awry. Wouldn’t be too big of a problem, Cade was a quick thinker. Not to say he was smart in that aspect, but he could do a magnificent temporary patch up job. “Just avoid causing complete devastation, if you can’t, at the very least direct it towards the class on the other side of the hall.”

The counselor seemed to overreact quite a bit as only a small portion of the corner was cut off, though that might have been dangerous if he made the pen a bit longer. The man cried out a word which someone said was a name which they cry out to for help, yet to him he had no one to cry out to for help. Who would help a demon in the time of the human dictatorship, which was not the word he knew. The boy just had the feeling that humans did whatever they wanted instead of just letting the truly powerful rule, they group up and rule chaotically with numbers. How can many idiots believe they could know who should rule them, though he had no right to speak since he was obedient on many occasions which should have been a disgrace to a true demon.
The instructor informed him to not face his techniques towards his instructor, which made sense as he only realized at that moment if he did accidentally kill his counselor who would help him learn better ways to master his power. The boy was told to use another desk for his next demonstration as he looked at it. The desk would do since the power he wanted to show now was a different one from the previous one. He focused mana into his fist and punched the desk in the center as it broke apart as dust and splinters flew apart as some of them stuck to his clothing and just managed to not hit higher then that due to it mostly being an impact going away from the boy's body. The other desks were not affected much, but the classroom was now less one desk as he looked back with a somewhat confused expression on his face.
"This was a really weak desk", while it might not be as impressive as cutting a desk with a pen, he did destroy a desk with one fist as he circulated his mana just to check if he was still doing well. He did not do much, but he had to be careful not to expend too much of his mana pool as he was not sure if the counselor could understand this second part of his power completely.

Cade watched intently as the boy approached the object of demonstration. The teacher still had a pen propped in his mouth and he still fiddled with it like it was a cigarette (blame it on old habits dying hard) despite the fact that he was clearly not jotting down any notes or doing anything productive with the writing utensil. He preferred to give off the air that he was doing something important over actually doing anything of notable purpose.
Regardless, he was expecting Kotaro to perform some sort of enchantment on the desk, like he had with previous objects but on a larger scale this time around. The display was a bit more… blunt with its approach. It was not just a simple display of strength, no, it was something different. The boy’s hand glowed in a way similar to that of the pen he used earlier, suggesting that instead of an object, he enchanted his fist and made it significantly strong or heavier. Cade merely frowned in a proper manner as he brushed the shrapnel of the student table off his vest and approached the youngling. “Well yes, it was probably over seventy years old, older than the both of us combined no doubt. Unfortunate that it met its end this way” he retorted in mildly mannered way, kicking the bits of rubble into a more cohesive pile absently so that clean up would be easier later on. “I’ll probably have to call the janitor later on, oh well” he continued as he rolled his eyes and walked past the destroyed pile.
“Oh, by the way, don’t go around destroying desk just because I gave you permission to break that one” he added as he ventured toward the door. He quickly peeked outside the hall to make sure that no one was around and shut the door for good measure. If they were going to be breaking more stuff in his classroom, he’d prefer that somebody wouldn’t be passing by and observing them. “If you do break something though, don’t link it back to me. Life lesson number two, don’t rat out your mentor” he spoke with ease as he meandered back over to his seat.
Cade sat down once more, interlocking his hands together and gently resting his elbows on the arms of the chair. “Now, since you showed me your powers, what exactly is it that you’re working towards with them? Better control? What do you plan to do with your powers as a constructive citizen in society?” he asked, almost satirically because he never cared about being a ‘constructive citizen’ himself.

The man said the table was older then both of them, but seventy years was not old at all to the small boy. It was still a baby desk to the young Kotaro, who was not really young though when it came to ancient demons several years is nothing but infancy. The main reason he survived that long was not only because of the boy being an ancient demon, but the pit had at the time been filled with magical pollution and the people ventured into the pit when the pollution dropped to a level in which human intervention was safe. Though this did not really make him much stronger, but it kept him from withering away in the darkness and depths of the pit.
The boy understood that a janitor was one who cleaned up after those who could not clean up after themselves. This strange eye rolling technique the man did was something he had seen a few times, but he never understood this gesture at all. The boy also got told to no longer just destroy desks even if he got permission and mentioned a new life lesson. Were these life lessons real or was this counselor just making them up as they went along. The boy was not sure, but he did not know enough to doubt the man who seemed weird to him.
The man now sat down again and made a gesture as if awaiting a reply, but he spoke before the boy could say anything. The man asked him if he wanted better control and something about being a constructive citizen in society. The boy had a vague idea of what society was, but what exactly was a citizen and did constructive refer to construction.
The boy took a deep breath and then since the pile was close together it made it easier for him as he dropped everything and fell to his knees and placed both hands upon the pile of rubble. He sent quite a bit of mana into the pile as he concentrated and using his ability he repaired the desk, as it rose up as he had to stand to give way for his own ability as he coughed nearly falling over as he leaned forward on the desk before looking back to the counselor with a dazed look. "Constructive citizen? What are those?" as he was struggling to stand as repairing the desk was not a simple task mainly due to the various different materials involved, if it had just been pure wood it would be one thing however these were desks not simple tables made purely of wood alone. Also he needed to reinforce it with mana so it would not break during the process as well.
The boy coughed a bit more before nearly fainting as he spoke. "I want to rule the world" as the boy then collapsed on the floor having used a bit too much mana for fixing the desk due to his lacking control.

Cade watched in a rather curious manner as the boy attempted to rebuild the desk. Kotaro was an interesting boy that was for certain. He had a very peculiar air to him. The way he acted was not much different from most kids that were in his assumed age range, but there was just something about him that seemed off. He was clearly foreign in some way, but Cade had a sneaking suspicion that there was something more to it. He clearly had no clue how society worked, even less than a six year would understand. Perhaps he lived under a rock for however many years he was alive.
The boy asked what a constructive citizen was, and Cade merely scoffed humourously at the notion. He had quite a lot to say about the subject itself, but it clearly would be lost on the ancient child considering that he was not quite up to date with the terminology. Might as well convert him to Cade’s way of thinking while he was still young and naïve. “Now that right there is a good question” he stated with a smirk as he leaned back in his chair. “A constructive citizen is what society wants every person to be, but there’s a fatal flaw in it. There are a myriad of ways to cheat the system and still have a good income. Basically, if you’re a constructive citizen you fall into the hands of the government and you quickly become their play things. You and I, my friend, we avoid that at all costs and play our own game.”
In due time, however, the boy’s powers seemed to be overwhelming him, quite clearly making him weaker as he continued to foolishly make an attempt at rebuilding the desk he had just demolished. Cade really didn’t see the point in doing so, the school would probably pay for a replacement anyway, and it wasn’t like his classroom had any shortage of seats. Eventually, it became too much for him and he fell limp and onto the floor, not before stating his goal to rule the world. Mr. Lemaire’s lips twitched a smile for a mere moment at the mere concept. His powers were strong, but he doubted the boy could take on the world’s armies with it. Perhaps one day, but he’d probably get over such childish illusions.
Cade rose from his desk, showing some concern for Kotaro’s health, but he was not necessarily rushing to the boy’s side. The situation kind of made him relive the moment when he discovered that his powers had a breaking point. That was quite the dreadful day, just thinking about it made the man’s throat so parched that he could probably devour a lake and not be satisfied. Regardless, he hovered over the tiny boy, a quirk to his countenance. “Hmph, that’s probably going to be the first thing we’ll need to work on” the teacher spoke to himself, unsure if the student was still conscious. “I’m probably going to need to look over his profile next time around” he whispered faintly in case the boy was still awake. “Alright Dr. Evil, let’s get you to the nurse’s office before you possibly die” he continued rather nonchalantly as he made the motions to pick up the tiny child and, should he not oppose his grab, take him over to the nurse’s office to recuperate.

He was barely conscious as he heard the reply, he could not completely make sense of it other than a constructive citizen being a human. These humans were simply asking to be ruled by him, one of the ancient demon race. The way the man spoke to the small boy gave him the impression of a kindred spirit, one who was also close to the ancients.
In order to further their studies the institute had allowed the small boy to learn various things from the hidden text which they had trouble translating. The translation was not the problem at all, as the humans had a certain way of thinking while demons had a far different aspect to their thoughts. Human's were ambitious and chose to rule, while at the same time choosing to follow. Did the human's not understand that the most powerful should rule and the weak should live under the mercy of their powerful ruler.
He heard something about cheating the system, but the poor little boy had no idea what cheating was. The concept did not even exist in the understanding of demons who saw doing whatever it takes to win as common logic. The government sounded familiar, he remembered the scientists always complaining about the government and this strange thing called funding and legal woes as well as something about rental fee. All those words were lost on the boy who was more interested in getting his usual mana supplement for that day among other things.
The boy felt as if he was not even sure what was going on anymore as someone was approaching him, was it the counselor? He brushed that thought aside realizing that it was just the two of them so nothing bad could even begin to happen. The boy heard something about working which did not sound that enjoyable, but it sounded like something necessary.
The boy noticed a motion, one he had rarely ever received. A strange human did this action before and some of the scientists also did it too to help him get around. He did not fight it and motioned into the grasp and would hug onto his counselor and then whisper with his unbroken voice. "Are you also a demon Cade-san?"
The boy had not been sure of honorifics and did not know too many, while he did call the man mister cade les, or was it lem. The boy was not even sure anymore, but he felt that he found a comrade as he would yawn a bit as he was mostly just shocked from the drainage from repairing. The problem was not the ability, but simply the items had to not vary too much since each material was different. The same technique can not be used to repair all items and the boy looked down for a moment, pointing towards his notebook and pen as if that was important in his dazed state.

Kotaro was quick to cooperate when it came to lugging him around like a dead weight, which was good because that way he didn’t necessarily have to awkwardly scoop him up in the manner that he thought he would. The boy clung to Cade like a chimpanzee, roping around him in a hugging motion, which made him uncertain on whether it was in an affection gesture or for the sake of making his job easier. Either way, Cade became a bit uncomfortable around the notion, though he didn’t hate the thought that at least one of his students didn’t just tolerate his existence. Being a math teacher, there were very few kids that would look up to him or come to him for advice considering how apprehensive and hostile some people were towards the subject.
Regardless, as Cade made motions toward the door with a slow pace the boy made a very silent inquiry, one that somewhat perplexed him. He had asked if he was a demon and spoke of it in a way that also hinted towards the boy’s possible origin. While before he arrived at Foresta he would’ve denounced the existence of such divine beings, but during his stay he had got into an intimate relationship with a very angelic wind deity, so at this point in his life he could believe anything was possible. Then again, the boy could just be merely under the belief that he was a demonic outcast considering that regular humans were not exactly accepting of the gifted community. Then again, if that was his belief then he would already have his answer since Cade had already shown he was gifted in a same manner as the boy was. It was puzzling and he would only truly get his answer after reading over the boy’s file (if there was any knowledge of that present anyway), but for now he felt compelled to give an answer.
“I suppose some could say I am. My motivation are not exactly what most may see as pure, but who really cares what others think anyway? People have such a backwards way of seeing what is moral. That being said though, I don’t think I’ll be instantly combusting whenever I enter a church. Well, maybe if the gods see me as being so impure that I need to be erased from the Earth. If it comes to that, I suppose I’ll have a more exact answer to give you” the man rambled in a rather low tone. He didn’t expect the boy to pick up on everything he said, Cade was the type of person that enjoyed hearing himself talk and he could talk for hours on the subject of morality and what society sees as holy or unholy. He supposed he could trace that back to his rather rocky relationship with his forcibly adoptive father.
“Life lesson number three, create your own moral code and stand by that. Higher power can’t dictate the way you live because everyone lives differently. Blend in whenever you can otherwise society will seek to destroy you, they fear what is different.”

The boy felt a bit reassured, but he began to wonder if he gained weight since the man was walking rather slow. The guy gave an answer which sounded a bit confusing as he said something about him being able to be called one with an uncertainty. The man also said he had an impure motivation and that they should not care about what other people think.
The small boy was not sure exactly what a church was, but he knew that combustion had something to do with fire and explosions. So was a church a place which set demons on fire. He was uncertain and was a bit too fatigued to ask about that right now but he looked down with a sadness that would dwell upon those around him.
The third life lesson was something about a moral, which he was not sure but he remember some scientists arguing over this moral code and ethics thing which he never understood. So people did not bow down to power, but to numbers. This logic if you could call it that made no sense to him since if you feared your own power then you would sooner or later lose control.
"Cade-san" the boy said softly as he looked deep into the man's eyes as the boy's eyes began to appear purple to the point of being violet as you could see a real demon's eyes. "I accept you, so will you be my first", as the boy did not smile while giving a blank lonely expression which did not explain what the boy was referring to. The boy had chosen him to be the first in the beginning of his Legion, for the boy knew one thing in the face of a power you can never defeat even the greatest of numbers meant nothing. He could not even count beyond the number ten since he never needed math to begin with, and to him whether there were only ten people or tens of tens of tens of people that could never be counted. This boy did not fear an army or even knew what an army really was, all he knew was that to rule the world he would need allies.
Who better to join him then this man who complimented him in a way no one else could. He had the ability to forge and the ability to enchant, this man had the ability to multiply creations and therefor having him is like having an unlimited supply of items. The boy may have exaggerated the man's ability, but it was clear this man was destined to serve beneath or alongside him. This was his fated person who would help him to save the world from the humans that plague it.

The reasoning behind Cade’s rather slow walk cycle was mainly due to the discussion that Kotaro and him were going through, the math teacher’s words not quite being something that his boss or supervisors would approve of if he just so happened to pass by them whilst they were wandering the halls. He doubted it would happen, but the risk was not worth the reward because some of the things that Cade was promoting would not be encouraged by the rest of the school board and he knew that for a fact. Cade was not entirely an anarchist per say, he just did not see eye to eye with the way that society was structured, though he was nowhere near the idea of usurping or overthrowing, it wasn’t his place. He had his own life to build back and collect, he couldn’t care less about how the world was structured so long as it didn’t get in his way.
Anyways, the boy continued to talk, which somewhat surprised the man. If it were any other child they would be out cold by this point, but he seemed to be keeping conscious just fine. His student’s very oddly coloured eyes gazed into the teacher’s own, however, their hue had a more supernatural appearance than that of Cade’s. There was definitely something off about it and it very easily scored some points in favour of the boy being an actual demon, something that Mr. Lemaire was unsure of how to take. Given that the boy clearly seemed to trust him, he supposed he should have no fear towards it, right? He’s dealt with the scum of the Earth for a good portion of his life, he supposed that he could adjust to ones that were not of Earth just as well.
It was what the kid had said that perplexed him, and in some ways made him even more uncomfortable with the child hugging him. What Kotaro said was not unlike what most women had said to him in his life time and he would rather not think of that ever again. Like the mere thought of it made him want to pull his brain out and wash it with soap. It didn’t help that Cade had no idea what he meant by his ‘first.’ Did it mean his first teacher, or was there some sort of demon ritual that Kotaro just roped him into without his knowing. Only time could tell. With a never disappearing curious quirk on his face, he peered back at the boy. “Uh, alright. First of what exactly?”
