How hard is it to go to a school and try to talk and do things you want to do? Its very hard for Yuki Miller..and Yama. As if sharing a body was hard enough, they couldn't agree on anything. They wanted to talk to different people, and even eat different things.
Finally, Yuki had enough. She started walking to this doctor's office, someone who could..help. But, as usual, Yama didn't want to.
"Yuki! Stop now! You know I don't like doctors!"Yama said in Yuki's mind.
"Deal with it."Yuki replies.
Yuki walks to a door with a comic strip on it, but hesitates to open it. Maybe they could handle it. She cleared that thought out of her-or their-mind. Yuki would just let Yama get her way all the time.
She slowly opened the door, hopeing this was the right decision. She was in a plain room, with a glass coffee table and hardly any electronics. She sees some leather seats. She suddenly feels nervous, and now wants to run out of the room.
But she had to do this. For both of their own good.
"Um, mister."Yuki said out loud,"I think I need help.."

It was only a matter of time. The school finally deemed it time to inform Miller that his state of mental health was not suitable for life at Foresta. The six foot four giant was invited for a meeting with the school’s Psychiatrist, to which Miller wasn’t the most thrilled about. Any person with a PhD or lab coat was enough to send him into a spiraling descent into pure anxiety. Then again, he was the kind of person to be paranoid of just about anything.
The letter did not specify a time or a scheduled meeting, so it took him about a week or so to build up enough courage to actually venture to Dr. Wallenby’s office. As he was confronted with the door though, all his courage flushed right out of his body. Miller didn’t know if a heart could sweat, but he felt like that was what his was doing when he reached for the door knob. He could back out now, wait for tomorrow. He didn’t have to talk to him today. He would probably have the same thought process tomorrow, so might as well do it today.
Like a swift peeling of a bandage, he yanked the door open and swiftly closed it behind him. His inky blotched eyes hiding behind their lids as he was too afraid to confront the teacher. After a solid two minutes of quivering in place, Miller eased up since he didn’t hear any sort of reaction from anyone. He uncovered his eyes and quickly noticed the office was empty. The goliath reverted to a straight posture and sighed heavily. He was free from the shackles of another Doctor for one more day.
The boy took a few steps forward into the room, noticing the fancy furniture. He kept his arm blade close to his body, to avoid it snagging against the leather seats. He approached the desk and searched it with his bulbous eyes, since he was slightly curious about where the Doctor had gone off to, only for the sake of avoiding any and all contact.
Suddenly the door creaked behind him followed by the voice of what sounded like a young girl. His breathing became slightly heavier and his head began to shiver, but to be fair that would be his lightest of reactions to being sneaked up on. Everything in his head was telling him to run, however, he was quick to cool down. It was just a young girl, she couldn’t possibly be a threat to him. Miller turned his head around slowly and gave off a weak smile before turning himself around completely, his weapon, which was also his left arm, was now in full view.
“Uh, sorry. He’s not in right now. I was- uh also coming here for an appointment” he spoke as he began to rub the back of his neck.

Yuki looked at the boy who spoke to her. Her eyes widen, and she gulped. One of his arms was a blade. His eyes were black, completely black. He was a lot taller than her, 6'5"perhaps? He put his blade arm right there in view, like he wanted to show her. She went defensive, but this looks like a student...and he was kind. She relaxed a bit, and she saw him smile weakly when she saw him. She shyly smiled at him.
"Oh..I-um.."she stuttered,
She sat down in a leather seat and she started to braid her black hair in a fishbone braid. She always did this when she was nervous, scared, or just bored.
She looked at the boy, who most likely thought she was 12 or 13, and tried to speak. But her throat was dry. She had goosebumps all up her arms. She wondered why he was here. It didn't look like many people came here.
As frighting as the boy looked, she could tell he was not a monster. He looked like he didn't want to hurt anyone. She tried to relax more, but that blade arm was getting to her.
Then, she built up the courage to speak. But she didn't know what to say. She doesn't have any friends yet at Foresta because she is still the new girl, the one who argues with herself about what to eat. She came up with a few words.
"I-I am Yuki. Yuki Miller. Nice to meet ya."Yuki manged to say.

Miller tried to stay calm and cool. The girl was making this task easy on him, she didn’t make sudden movements and she even smiled back at him. She was no threat to him, so he should get over it quite easily. Although trust hadn’t exactly become his strong suit, each passing day he was getting more and more anxious around strangers, the possibility of any of them being spies or undercover scientists was a real risk, especially when those who created him knew where he was.
The heavy breathing radiating from Miller’s face dwindled as the girl began to speak up once again. He could handle this, he could talk to her without jumping out a window in panic. At least that was what the optimistic side of his brain was reassuring him.
When she said her name though, that was when everything was thrown out the window. As soon as her lips released the word ‘Miller’, he jumped back as though a spider had just crawled up his leg, however, that just caused him to bump into the desk and create even more noise. ‘Kill her! Kill her before she takes control of us like the last one!’ the voice inside his mind screamed as though the situation was life or death. ‘Go away! Go away!’ his other inner voice repeated to try to fend off his bestial side.
Her surname was an identical match to that of the lead scientist who created him, that wouldn’t mean much if it wasn’t for the encounter that Miller had about a year ago with his daughter. It turned out Dr. Miller had given his child the ability to control his mind, so that is exactly where his mind jumped to when he heard this girl’s last name was Miller. Given that she also suspiciously entered the room almost immediately after he did, he wasn’t going to easily pass that away as coincidence. Miller was also not aware that the last name was as common as it was.
“What do you want from me? Why did you follow me? Are they listening to us right now?” Miller began to question nervously as he slowly began to circle around the desk so there would be an object dividing them and a possible hiding place if he absolutely needed it.

When Yuki said her surname, the boy freaked out. Her eyes widened in confusion and fear as the boy walked to the wooden desk, as if he was putting something between him and Yuki. Yuki suddenly looked around, seeing if there were any intruders. But there was none.
The boy asked questions that Yuki had no answer to. Yuki tried to stand, but she stopped herself. If she got up, it would most likey frighten the boy, whom she doesn't know his name. She doesn't know what to do.
She starts pulling on her braid and tries to calm down. Why would she of all people follow him? She couldn't do anything though, she couldn't even speak. Maybe she could let Yama..no, she is a little mean around people. But if the boy misunderstood her, he might use his blade arm. She made a choice, and switched with Yama.
Yama looked around and found the boy behind the desk. She rolls her eyes. 'Yuki was afraid to stand. Are you kidding me.' Yama thought. She stands up and walks toward the boy.
"Look. Why would I even follow you? I don't want anything from ya either. And why would someone be listening to our conversation? I'm just a 15 year old."Yama said.
Yama looked around the office. If that doctor was here, she might of exploded. She feels a little sad about yelling at the boy, but she couldn't help it. The boy was practically telling them they were trying to hurt him. She sighed, she had a feeling this was going to get ugly.

The man’s deep black eyes never left that of the girl’s. For the outsider looking in, it would seem quite odd that the well-built and naturally equipped teenager would be frightened by the clearly younger and nearly foot shorter girl, however, Miller knew better than to judge a person by their appearance. He knew of the people that went to this school and what some were capable of doing regardless of their age or size. Not to mention that the label of Miller meant nothing good in his eyes, his self included.
The girl began to approach him eventually, the window began to sound like a magnificent escape plan. Her tone though, it sounded legitimate, almost like she didn’t have a clue about what he was talking about. Tones could be faked though, for all he knew she was taught in the ways of deception and trickery. She wanted him to let his guard down so that she could take over when he was calm.
He restrained himself from doing anything just yet, it wouldn’t be the first time his paranoia had consumed him before. In fact, now that he thought about, why would she admit her name was Miller if they knew that would trigger him? Or perhaps he was overthinking this instead of just running with his tail in between his legs like he should.
His breathes became shorter and less heavy as he tried to answer her. “You are following me because they sent you to retrieve me. You brand the name of their lead scientist. They already sent one of you after me, I can’t stomach another.” he replied meekly as he flashbacked to the other Miller girl he had met and ultimately her fate. The mere thought of it forced him to hide his blade behind his back so that no matter what happened in the room, the sword’s steel would never pierce flesh again.
“Last one wasn’t much older than you either” he added, his stare becoming less focused.

Yama's eyes widened. Their surname was the same as a lead scientist that made this boy, no wonder the boy went to his flight or fight response. And worse, he thought their father was a scientist! Her eyes filled with anger, anyone could see the flames in her eyes. Then he said that sentence, 'Last one wasn't much older than you either.' That sentence echoed in her mind, like a memory you couldn't forget, no matter how hard you tried. He has killed before. And he would again. That was her breaking point. Her nails dug into the palms of her hands, and her jaw was clenched. She tried to calm down, but she couldn't.
He threatened to kill her! And he had the advantage since he was much taller and stronger than her. But she was smaller and quicker. That blade arm is lethal, but it would weigh him down. She didn't have a weapon, but she could use her powers. The boy clearly didn't want to kill the person that went after him, but he would kill her if he had to. And she knew for a fact he would.
She couldn't kill him without using her powers, but there was a chance he could kill the creature she would bring from that dimension. There was not a 100% chance she could beat him. There was no way to reason with him unless she told him their past, and even then he might not believe her. Yama switched with Yuki, hoping Yuki could reason with him.
Yuki looked at the boy,"I am not the daughter of a scientists. I can assure you that. I-I could tell you my...past. But I will tell ya this, I-If I was born in a l-lab, how could I be related to this scientist?"
Yuki bit her lip, and twirled her braid. Her blue eyes looked into his black ones. She really hoped he would believe her. If he didn't, she might die.

Miller’s condition was getting worse and worse, the woman being here was making his heart rate increase exponentially to the point of near heart attack. Why must these beings continue to trouble him? It was like no matter where he turned he was faced with another reminder of his past or people who wanted to abuse his strength for their own will. Freedom was all he ever asked for. Given that he also just got out of court for the previous incident he didn’t want another to arise, not so soon.
When the girl spoke though, her voice sounded with genuine fear. Was she afraid of him? If she had the same ability as the last one, why would she feel fear? She could control him whenever she wanted, unless she was pulling a huge bluff right now to ease him into a false sense of security. Along with the high blood pressure, Miller was starting to get some major headaches. He hated having to try and reverse engineer another person’s thought process especially those tricky scientists. Their intelligence outmatched his own tenfold, so no matter how hard he tried to outsmart them they no doubt planned for it better than he could imagine.
If he was wrong, he might have spooked this girl tremendously at this point. If he was right though, he would be playing right into their hands. Neither options were preferable to him, the better option would have been to run away before any of this came about and hope for the worst.
Was she suggesting that she was born in a lab? Was… was she another like him? His tension eased for a moment as he began to piece it together. He named himself Miller, after his creator since it was one of the few names he knew. Maybe the same was for her. “You were… created as well?” the boy asked as he peered back at his metallic arm. “I, uh, I apologize. I’ve been through some… rough times as of late. It has made trust a difficult task.” he stated as he began to put himself at ease. His stress levels have scared away too many people to count, he needed to make a change to that. He wasn’t sure if he was bold enough to make it through this conversation though. It could easily take another trigger to send him off the deep end.
‘This changes nothing, she could be another creation of theirs. Her not being Dr. Miller’s other daughter makes her no less a threat than before. She’s faking her fear, if she was really scared all we need to do is swing at her and she’ll run. No need to kill, just swing. If we cut her, it’s no fault of ours, just blame me. I’ll be your scapegoat, you’ll be innocent and together we can live in harmony.’ the voice offered Miller. Miller tried his best to ignore the voice in his head and give it no satisfaction, but all that did was allow it to repeat itself continuously.

Yuki held her breath. Would the boy calm down or try to kill her? Then the boy asked the question and she could could breath, a huge weight was lifted off of her chest. Now all she had to do is tell him she was no threat. From what the boy had said, she could tell he didn't like talking to people, so she had to be careful about what she would say.
She took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and rubed her sweaty hands on her shirt. She could tell the boy didn't completely trust her, so she had to tell him most of her past. But she would leave out Yama, if she told him about her, he might get scared and accidentally hurt her. She opened her eyes and played with her thumbs.
Could she tell him? Or would break down into tears about not knowing what happened to Dr.Dell, the abuse, and her adopted parents not trusting her anymore? He most likely had a worse past than her, but she didn't know if she was ready to tell it another time. She gulped and spoke to the boy.
"Yes, I was created. I understand about you and not trusting others. I was supposed to travel through all dimensions, of course it failed. I could only travel and bring things from one dimension. Another..side effect also was a major reason they kept me to observe. With help from a man named Dr.Dell, I escaped. He put me in the adoption system. I never heard of him again, he is most likely dead for helping me."Yuki said, and started to get emotional," I was first adopted by this couple who were abusive bank robbers. Yama took over to protect me-"
Yuki stopped. She said Yama's name. And worse, she said took over. She was so emotional that she accidentally spoke the words that might make the boy freak out. Her eyes filled with fear. 'Sorry, Yama' Yuki said to Yama in her head. She gulped. She pulled on her dark blue leather jacket and waited for the boy to freak.

Miller began to feel bad about his previous accusations when the girl began to open herself up to him. Despite how much he hated being mistaken for a monster, his actions toward others like Yuki didn’t exactly paint himself in a good light. He was hoping that he could make up for his kneejerk reaction toward the girl, though he felt the damage was already done.
He eased himself and put himself into a much calmer state, throwing the other voice and its attempt at temptation to the back of his mind. Hopefully it wouldn’t return for the rest of the day, but Miller didn’t have much confidence in his own restraints. Regardless, he tried to listen to her story with a clear mind so that he didn’t miss any of the details.
As she stated her reasoning for being created, Miller’s eyes detracted to his metallic arm as he thought whether or not he should divulge his purpose of being ‘born.’ Considering that he had probably scared the girl enough with the way he had been acting, it was best to not discuss that just yet. Although, what her scientists had assigned her to do was rather intriguing. Miller had met very little people that were also lab experiments and most of them were made for violent reasons, not her though. “I’m sorry to hear that about this Dr. Dell. I’m sure he was a bold man for doing what he did for you. I had to escape on my own, but all that matters now is that you are free. Foresta is so far the safest place I’ve come across, so you’re in the right place.”
Once the woman mentioned Yama, she seemed to freeze up and began to act strangely. Miller raised a brow at this, fear building up in the back of his mind that he might’ve made the wrong choice. Within the context that the woman stated her sentence and the way she worded it, Miller thought first that Yama was a friend or a guardian of some kind that took over after the bank robbers abused her before ever guessing that she was a separate entity living in her head. In addition to that, Miller wasn’t exactly the brightest when it came to things like that. “… Was Yama the one who sent you to Foresta?” he asked in a confused manner.

Yuki looked at the boy. He was relaxed, and even spoke to her about her past. When he asked if Yama was the one who sent her to Foresta, she felt happy the boy didn't figure it out. She let out a breath and relaxed. He didn't have to know about Yama, all she had to do was lie to the boy and the truth would never reach the boy's mind. She could live at Forseta with him never having the knowledge of Yama and her.
But, a deep thought emerged in her mind. This boy was being kind to her, and the thanks she would give him would be a lie. She didn't want to lie to him, no matter his reaction to her surname. He was frightened because he had to escape a lab that had a man that clearly hurt him, she wanted to tell him. But the thing was if would he react well. Yuki bit her lip. What should she do? She couldn't decide.
Would she lie to the boy, and live life at Foresta as normally as she could. Or would she tell the boy, leading to unknown events. She pondered about this, and tried to come to an answer. But she couldn't. If she told the boy, the consequences might be great, and it would be unfair to Yama as well. If she didn't tell him, she might slip again, and he would be suspicious. She tuged on her hair, and her palms were sweaty. She had no idea what to say.
'Tell him' Yama said in her mind. Yuki was startled. It was unusual, Yama letting her say Yama's name at the first meeting. 'Look, the only reason I am doing this is because you will get all sad and hardly speak. Now do it before I change my mind.' Yuki smiled. In fact, Yuki was glad Yama was finally warming up to people. Yuki took a deep breath and looked into his black eyes.
"Well, not exactly. In fact,.....she is here right now."Yuki said in her most calm voice.

The girl continued to remain silent for a peculiarly long period of time. It would seem that she was in deep thought over something. Was it something he said or was it something she said? Did mentioning her past around her cause her to freeze up? Frankly Miller didn’t quite understand, but he left her to it, whatever it was she was thinking about.
His eyes dwindled around until the girl finally spoke up again, looking into his eyes as she did. His eyes detracted, never being one who enjoyed direct eye contact. The girl corrected him on his assumption of Yama being some sort of surrogate parent of hers, then stating a rather strange claim. Yama was in the room with them. Being the kind to pay attention to his surroundings, he was rather confused by the answer. He hadn’t seen anybody enter or leave this room since they both stumbled onto the premises. On top of that, she couldn’t be invisible, she would have come to Yuki’s aid when Miller was causing a scene, unless she was a quiet and shy girl.
Miller’s head slowly inspected the room, even to the point of checking underneath the doctor’s desk. His vision returned to the girl, his eyes being reminiscent of a deer in headlights. “… Where exactly?” he stated in a perplexed tone. It hit him in that moment. She might be referring to Yama being dead, saying that her spirit still lives on through her. He had heard that used enough times to see it as a believable possibility. His lower jaw cringed as he thought he was bringing back bad memories by inquiring about another of her lost parental figure. “Oh, um, my condolences…” he stated in a respectful manner. Even going so far as to bow his head slightly when speaking.
“I’m sure she did a… commendable job protecting you from those abusive bank robbers. Sorry for your loss.”

Yuki looked at the boy, confused. She said Yama was in the room, not dead. She sighed and looked at the boy. She may have worded wrong, and the boy must if misunderstood her. She rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment.
She bit her lip. Her mouth felt dry due to her nerves. How could she say what she wanted to say without the man misunderstanding her? But, if she said it too straight forward, the boy might get the wrong idea, and go into a panic attack.
She tugged on her clothes and rubbed her sweaty palms on her pants. She looked at him and bit her lip once again. She took a deep breath and blew it out. She finally found some words to say.
"What? Yama's not dead. Um..well..you kinda already met her today. In this room....she was the one telling you that we didn't know about that Miller guy..."Yuki says.

Miller was still quite confused about what the girl was trying to get across. Him not being the brightest bulb in the bundle was probably not aiding him whatsoever in trying to figure it out. His assumption of Yama being dead was apparently false, so what else was there to go off of? She stated that he had talked to her already today, in their previous conversation about Miller’s creator. That doesn’t make much sense, he was talking to Yuki the entire time…
‘She’s like us. Two voices, one body. If she’s as violent as me then she is a danger to us.’ the inner voice explained to Miller. As much as he would prefer to ignore anything the other voice said, what it said made so much more sense to him. A stroke of relief flowed through his brain as he discovered what the girl was trying to get across to him, almost like he was struggling through a difficult equation and then suddenly came across the solution. In fact, now that he thought about it, the girl did seem slightly more abrasive in the moment she used as an example than the rest of the time that Miller had known her, which wasn’t a lot for it to be that noticeable otherwise.
His eyes went wider as he peered back at Yuki. “Oooh, I get it now… um” he then pointed at his own temple “there’s two of you up here. That’s um, that’s why you came here, isn’t it?” the boy questioned since he was sent to the office for similar reasons, although he didn’t have any intention of bringing up his second voice, to her or anyone otherwise. Given how well equipped he was, it was probably not the best to inform people that there was something inside his head egging him on to attack people in dangerous situations.
As the duo (or foursome) continued to speak, the sun slowly crept into a position to where it was shining brightly through the window conveniently placed behind the desk, the same one that Miller had plotted to jump out of earlier. The sun’s rays began to pick at the corner of the boy’s nocturnal eyes, though lucky for him he was facing away from the port. It was still enough to cause him to squint uncontrollably and rapidly blink to protect his eyes. “Perhaps we should move this conversation to another location. It would probably be best that we leave this office while it is unsupervised.” Luckily for Miller, a transition to the hallway would prevent not only his eyes encountering the sun, but also maybe the psychiatrist.

The boy was confused, but then he understood. He didn't yell shocking words at her, or stop trusting her. A wave of relief swept over her mind, calming her. She as calm as the sea on a sunny day. He asked her if that's why she was here, in this office.
He was correct, unfortunately. She couldn't deny it. If they didn't get help, Yama might go crazy. The only reason Yama is not insane is because Yuki lets her take over. Life is hard enough, but when they both want to live different lives, its two times as hard. Yuki looked into the boy's piercing black eyes, wondering why he didn't ask so many questions. Most people would, but not him.
But then her mind was buzzing with questions about why he was here. She had so many accusations, and so many questions to ask him. She could ask him, but she knew she couldn't. It would be rude, especially since this boy heard her ramble about her life story, and this boy may have a worse past.
"Yes, that is the reason I guess..." Yuki says.
The sun finally shinned through the window, filling the room with light. The boy blinked his eyes rapidly, like the sunlight hurt his eyes. He asked to move the conversation to somewhere else. The phychiatrist may come in the room any second now, the phychiatrist may be walking down the hall. As much as she wanted help, she didn't want to see Dr.Wallenby.
"Sure, we could go out in the hall if you would like. Or anywhere else you would like to go."Yuki says.
