Miller began to cup his eyes as the sun became more and more unbearable. The second he gained permission from the woman to switch rooms, he made a b-line to the door and circled around the nearest wall. âOnly want to be away from the lightâ he answered her as his pupils began to readjust to the lack of sunlight. He rubbed his eyes for a moment or two before looking back at the girl.
He wasnât sure what else to talk with her about without bringing up too much more about himself. Continuing to speak of her second personality may bring up his own, even accidentally, so he preferred to avoid that all too much. Other than that, her past was similar to his own, so even then it would be difficult to bring it up with her without getting flashbacks of his own. He didnât want to shoo her away though, this was the first person in a long time that heâd been able to get a real conversation into and bypass his paranoia, so he had to think of something to say.
He peered back into the hall and noticed a bulletin board parallel to Dr. Wallenbyâs office. Perhaps it could have a segue-way to a different line of conversation. Most of it was filled with flyers for social gatherings and clubs, neither of which was Millerâs forte. It was the only way out offered to him though, so he had to pick the lesser of the evils. He plucked an eye-catching poster from the wall. Upon it read âSlasher Roulette: Join Sandra Petric in the ultimate horror movie marathon. Coming soon this summer at the auditorium. Warning: if you are easily nauseous then you probably shouldnât come, just sayinâ.â
Miller wasnât exactly sure about the entire document, but he has seen a few of these âmoviesâ and enjoyed them quite well. He peered at the woman once again, offering the flyer to her whilst asking âYouâve heard of a movie before, right? Theyâre a little bit too bright, but this sounds like it could be fun.â Given that watching a movie didnât involve communicating or relying on another person, he naturally gravitated toward it. Not to mention that he was easy to impress.
