"Yes, I do suppose you should do your job properly," Lisette agreed. She didn't mean it insultingly, since she was glad that she wasn't going to receive any sort of punishment for wandering around school grounds so late at night. Although, to be honest, she didn't think there was really any danger for her, considering her powers.
Cathal asked her about her limitations, and the teacher added his own question about what her other forms were. The former's words could be interpreted negatively, especially the part about shapeshifters being more versatile than that. She narrowed her blue eyes at him crossly. "I guess it just depends on the shapeshifter," she said with forced politeness, restraining anything else she might have wanted to say to him. To the other, she answered, "Let's see... Wolf, horse, falcon, cat... Then it depends on the situation." She also added, "I can only shift into animals which I've spent a lot of time with, or that I have a charm for." She wondered if there was anyone at the school with the ability to charm objects. "Either way, I had better get back to the dorms," she said, looking at the teacher.

Scout’s ability as an enforcer of school rules seemed to be fairly flimsy at best. If Cathal were to be fair, he was still new to the job so he probably hadn’t had a solid grasp on the rules and most likely wanted to seem friendly and fair instead of closed minded. Though between allowing an unknown man to wander the school grounds and a student to break curfew, it was questionable at just how much stricter he could get. He seemed too gentle to actually punish either of them and gentle was something that Cathal enjoyed to exploit in a person. It would be a bit too risky for him to test those boundaries at the moment though.
The woman left after explaining the functionality of her powers. It was quite pointless for her to do so considering that she was leaving, but he supposed he could keep her abilities in mind in the rare case that their paths would cross again. Even then, she didn’t radiate that air of a brain that could be easily twisted to his own will. “Good night” the tattered man waved off the woman.
That just left him and the gender bender teacher alone once again. Cathal had almost forgot that the person was actually a woman, different information was running through his mind during the brief encounter with Lisette and the succession of wielding his powers. Speaking of which, Scout was still insistent on Cathal’s training despite his complaints of being mentally exhausted. Whatever this man-woman thing was thinking, for some reason he was under the belief that Catahl was going to push himself further in this situation. The homeless man wasn’t going to exhaust himself to the point where his brain would be mush the next morning, he had to be at the top of his game every day if he wanted to survive on the streets. Besides he didn’t have a bed waiting for him once he returned into town, unlike the teacher.
“Tonight has been enough progress for me to warrant a rest. I wouldn’t want to run the risk of more mental strain than necessary.”

Scout knew he had done a poor job of enforcing the rules, and that that was a poor image to show to anybody outside the school, but being strict was really not Scout’s strong point, and he knew it. He hoped he didn’t seem like a push-over to either of the others but, chances are, he did, and he knew that.
Scout nodded, genuinely impressed. He knew that that was a lot more of a limitation than what a lot of shape-shifters had, but clearly she’d practiced a lot to find that out, and that determination was something Scout loved to see, even if it meant keeping order might be a little harder. Scout was somewhat intrigued as to how the charms worked, and to how spending time with the animals would affect her in the same way, but he chose not to probe further.
”It’s probably for the best.” Scout was relieved that the girl was choosing to do so without him having to intervene.
Scout was flabbergasted by Cathal’s reaction. It wasn't that he was disappointed; he knew he shouldn't have allowed him to remain there in the first place; but it seemed strange that Cathal would go to the effort of sneaking onto school property just to decide he was too tired to continue. Scout bit his lip, considering before he nodded. ”I really would encourage you to push a bit further, but I guess you probably know your limits better than I do.” Scout was actually quite glad to hear what Cathal said: especially the implication. ”I guess that means you’re planning to go now, then. If you ever see me around, you’re welcome to ask me about training.”
Scout paused, wondering how to ensure the trespasser would leave, before he turned and headed casually in a direction that led past the school buildings. At least that would encourage a more hasty departure.
(OoC: I assume we’re all ending here/soon, but feel free to finish off how you want.)
