(( who is morgan?)) A tiny figure made its way through the general crowd at the Port Albion General Hospital, an unremarkable presence in the pristine building, which was bustling with the daily hubbub of hospital life. Morgan was by no means the first visitor of the day, nor was he in any way in need of assistance - which he figured might be a bit peculiar in and of itself. He guessed that students rarely came to the hospital unless they had some terrible injury that couldn't be treated at the school's assuredly capable nurse's office. Morgan wasn't in the hospital because of any issue with his health; no, the boy was here because he had questions about health, and what better place to find out about health than at a hospital? It was with a few small bold steps that Morgan approached the front desk, which had a line with a few hassled and tired looking people waiting to talk to the secretary. A sigh escaped the boy. He hated waiting in lines, but it was a necessary part of life, he supposed.

Jared had just started his new job as a nurse at the hospital, just barely managing to get the job off of his charm and how much he actually knew about the human body. He was surprised that his power really made no difference at the hospital, considered how many healers they actually had employed. As he walked through the hospital though the young man was clad in light blue scrubs and worn out white tennis shoes. His belt of course always stayed on his person, and it seemed a little outlandish being on him with the rest of his normal hospital attire. It was an agreement that he had to come to with this boss, that it was actually his gift and that he would not take off his belt for work.
Jared was finding that the hospital had quite a mix of people, some people who believed that through the natural power of healing that was the only way that anyone should be fixed with any problems they had anymore. Other people (most who were not gifted) clung onto the idea's of modern medicine. Both views were slightly put in his favor, considered the type of power that he had.
Jared was lost in his own little world of thoughts, up until he saw a line of people that interested him. Well, it wasn't quite the people all together, but in actuality just one person. Walking up the young boy, Jared had to bend over slightly to be on his level considering the drastic height difference. "You're from the school, aren't you?" he asked the boy with striking blue eyes. Jared's mood was quite mellow today, so his hair had went in accordance by cut short and cropped close to his ears - the color dark brown which went along with with his light stubble of auburn facial hair.
"You don't look like you're injured," Jared then said to the boy, obviously invading Morgan's space as he peered over Morgan's person. "What do you need?"

Morgan squeaked unintentionally and hopped a few steps backward with unsurprising gracelessness when he (finally) noticed the man all but looming over him. It wasn't that tall people frightened Morgan, it was just that Morgan was not generally a fan of being loomed over, a sad fact given his rather diminutive stature. His eyes quickly darted over that man's scrubs and the curious belt around his waist, eventually making the small hike up from the man's torso to his face, Morgan craning his neck a bit to meet his eyes. He hated being so short. He really, really hated it.
"Yes," He said, the reply coming out with more weariness than he'd intended. "I'm from the school." A small smile. "No, I'm actually not injured, b-but I was wondering if I could just...Ah, if it wouldn't be too much of an inconvenience?...I was wondering if there was someone here I could ask a couple questions to. About the hospital. How it works here, with all of the...students, that is?"
Morgan internally winced at his awkward wording. As talkative as he was, he really was terrible at conversing with people.

Jared watched Morgan as he spoke hesitantly, thinking about all the friends that he had made in Foresta when he was younger and he couldn't help but smile. Looking around him to make sure his boss was no where nearby, and then back at the kid once more Jared grinned as he grabbed Morgan by the shoulder. "Sure, kid. I'll answer any questions you want to know." Letting go after he said that, Jared waved at the kid to follow him and started to make his way down a hallway and around some corners in the hospital.
As he passed by some of the other nurses and doctors, Jared waved at them and smiled all the while. After walking for what seemed like five minutes, Jared finally came upon one of the back doors to the hospital where the smokers would usually sneak out to catch a break ever now and then. Looking behind him, Jared went to check to see if the student had followed him all the way.

Morgan watched as the man departed down the hall for a few moments, blinking after him until he realized that he probably should be following. He stumbled a few hasty steps after him before settling into a brisk walk to keep up with the stride of the scrubs clad probably-maybe-a-nurse. Morgan glanced around eagerly at all of the hospital staff the passed, biting his tongue to keep from blurting out random questions at them - it was just so exciting to know that they took care of people that could shoot fire out of their fingertips! (Probably. Morgan had never actually seen anyone shoot fire out of their fingertips, but he was sure that it was possible somehow.)
He noticed that a few of the nurses shot him questioning looks as he passed them, and he wondered if it was odd to see someone as young as he was just wandering the halls of the hospital without having some sort of ailment. The thought was sort of depressing. He frowned a bit and almost stopped walking, getting lost in thought as usual.

Seeing that the student was still behind him, Jared opened up the door in front of him. "Come on, kid," he said to Morgan in a coaxing and pleasant voice. As he went through the door, Jared stopped suddenly as he came nose to nose with one of his co-workers. The other man's breath reeked of cigarette smoke and Jared quickly leaned to the side to cough. "Are you on your break?" the older man asked Jared. Jared smiled and nodded, "This kid is wanting to ask my questions for a school project," Jared said - fibbing just a bit so he wouldn't get in complete trouble.
The older co-worker seemed to hesitate before leaving Jared alone with Morgan, sending one last ugly look back at Jared before going down the hallway and doing whatever business he deemed necessary. Turning back to Morgan, Jared leaned back down to the younger boy so as to be on the same eye level as him - opening the back door up so that both Morgan and him could finally walk outside. "What sort of questions did you want to ask? Also, what's your name?"

With once last glance at the interior of the hospital Morgan joined the man outside, wrinkling his nose as he caught a whiff of the lingering smell of cigarette smoke; he fought the urge to sneeze. Morgan had never really liked cigarettes as they reminded him too much of an indecent he'd had with a bonfire a few years ago. Of course the whole thing hadn't been much of a problem for him, but he still hated the smell of smoke anyways. Pushing aside his thoughts, Morgan turned to the man again, unable to keep the eagerness out of his voice. "I'm Morgan." He sighed internally at his girly name. Just what had his parents been thinking? "I wanted to ask about the how the hospital works with all of the gifted people here. I mean, is it any different than a regular hospital? I bet you've got to be prepared for all sorts of weird things! Plus, I have a -," He hesitated. " - an ability that deals with healing, actually. I was wondering if maybe there were other people like that here."

Jared walked outside along with the boy, taking a seat in some grass nearby - the mention of his power to heal causing the man to look quite a bit more interested in Morgan. "My name is Jared," he said pleasantly to the boy as he pulled some potion bottles out of the pockets in his belt. "We're pretty equipped like a regular hospital its because some of the people who work here are not gifted and so of course they're going to need the most machines and all that fancy stuff in between." Jared gave Morgan a grin as he started to mix random herbs and liquids together - the man seeming to be so dang casual about it as well.
"Healing, is that right?" Jared said out-loud quite thoughtfully. As he got all the ingredients he felt necessary mixed, Jared closed the bottle up and started to mix it. The indication of anything else being used with this bottle did not show, but within a minute it seemed as if the potion that he wanted was completely done. "We've definitely got a ton of healers here, naturally because of Foresta a lot of gifted people stick around."
Staring at the potion he had made and then back at Morgan, Jared suddenly asked him quite a curious question. "Would you like to know how to cure paralysis?"

Morgan plopped down in the grass beside the man, watching with rapt attention while Jared mixed the the ingredients in his bottle, unable to hide the fascination he had. And then, when Jared mentioned curing paralysis of all things, Morgan couldn't help it - at the man's words he could practically feel his face light up, the way it did whenever anyone so much as mentioned "cool medical stuff" around him. Morgan had never been able to heal more than lacerations and illnesses on other people, and the idea that it was possible to cure paralysis was just so hopeful to him that he nodded eagerly, unable to hide his earnest curiosity.
"Can you really do that?" He wondered if the other healers here were actually powerful enough to heal things that Morgan couldn't even imagine being cured, like deafness or blindness. The fact that he hadn't been able to heal things like that had frustrated Morgan when he was younger, but only caused grudging acceptance of the inevitable in him now.

"Of course I can," Jared said to the boy with a wink. Jared then suddenly looked surprised for a moment as he set down the potion bottle he made and went to work on another one - this one being even faster then that other. The first one he had made had a yellow tinted sort of color, the other one looking just clear like water. "It's really easy too, I bet you could do it if you really tried." Jared said - seeming to have full confidence in a boy's abilities that he just met. "The trick is you have to think of where exactly the paralysis is effecting the body. For example most of the time it stems from the spine," Jared explained to the boy as he swirled the yellow colored liquid in the bottle.
Popping the cork for the potion, Jared brought it up to his lips and sipped it slowly - his expression showing no hint that it was quite indeed a disgusting flavor. After he he finished, Jared smiled at the boy as he spoke "The potion I just drank will paralyze me within one minute. It will effect my whole body, the antidote though lies right next to me," Jared said to the boy hinting at the clear liquid he had made. "I'd like you to try and find the cause of the paralysis, and see if you can fix it."
Suddenly, Jared's body seized up - and the young man looked as if he just suddenly started to lay in the grass - his eyes staring at Morgan. Jared failed to mention that the potion would wear off within the hour, but the young man had been quite bored at work - and it was quite obvious in his mind to use Morgan as some form of entertainment for the day.
(ooc; I have no idea about actual paralysis. That's just what I found off of wikipedia. D: Sorry if I'm wrong. Also, I figured this would be a fun thing to keep the thread super interesting. )

((:> totally fine! i like it))
Morgan almost screamed when Jared's body seized up. "Are you serious?!" He almost-but-not-quite-shouted, looking around for no discernible reason. He looked back at the older man. "Ah - I can't believe - why? - Agggggghhhhhhhhh." Maybe Morgan should have mentioned that the only things he'd been able to heal on other people were surface wounds and the common cold. Crap. He had no idea why this was, on himself Morgan was perfectly capable healing things as bad as bone fractures and third degree burns. "Oh, what should I do?" He spoke aloud mostly for his own benefit, as it was quite unnerving to just be kneeling over a person who couldn't respond to you.
"Maybe if I...?" He placed his hands on Jared's chest, drawing on the call of his power that always lingered in the back of his mind. It was as easy as riding a bike. No, easier. As easy as speaking was, as easy as it was to write a sentence, as easy as it was to play the violin. It just took a bit of practice. He sighed, and let the energy flow out of his hands...and realized he'd made a mistake as soon as he opened his eyes. Morgan stared at what he'd done, biting his lip. All Morgan had done was accelerate Jared's hair growth, and now the man was sporting a two foot long beard and hair that was longer than his torso.
"Whoops!"

Despite being paralyzed, Jared seemed to show amusement in his eyes. His body still remained stiff and unmovable, but the sensation was not uncomfortable for the young man. At least, he did not feel frightened doing this to himself. In his eyes, experimentation was the only way to learn anything new.
The sudden hair growth though, seemed to be irritating his nose - despite the fact that he really couldn't feel it - the signs were obviously still there. Sighing inside his mind, Jared waited some more for the healer to try something new. He wondered briefly how long it would take until Morgan attempted to use the antidote that he had made.
[ooc; Sorry, it's a little short. Only so much I could write with him being stuck D: ]
