Lian hadn't really moved much since the incident, her wounds were healing but not very fast. Doctors couldn't explain why her body just kept refusing the medical staples and the stitches weren't able to keep the gaping holes closed well enough by themselves. What Lian never told them was that she's mildly allergic to the nickel that's found in the medical staples- Lian knew about the allergy but she didn't want to heal. There was something she had to get done first. Despite all the pain she was in because of the allergic reaction and the fact that her arms were barely healed Lian, with her now cloth-wrapped arms, entered the Village Square. Even without her power Lian knew that the time would eventually come that she would meet that man and finally put those damn staples to use. After nearly a month of doctors replacing one set of staples with another set that was even bigger than the ones before, Lian had built up a sort of sick immunity to the pain.
Oh it still hurt, but now it hurt her so much it was numb. At some point her brain just started blocking out the pain so that Lian wouldn't go completely nuts- completely being the operative word. Sitting on a bench, Lian noticed two kids nearby and smiled crookedly. They could be useful later, she realized as she unwrapped one arm and then the other. Jack would be coming soon.

Days passed and weeks flew by, Jack just went on with his life as any normal- no, correction: as any semi-person would do. He taught class, slept, just typical day to day things. Then one day, deciding it was about time to go do something besides hang out around the school, Jack ended up in the village square seeming to wander aimlessly. It didn’t look like it though, from what people could tell he seemed to have some type of mission… something to do. People just didn’t know what.
As he walked around something nagged at him in the back of his mind. He knew exactly what it was, but really didn’t prefer to think about. It was too bad though, because as he turned the corner that thought that stayed constantly in the back of his mind came to life and only a few yards away did he spot Lian. Spotting her almost immediately, Jack’s lips dipped down curiously. He wasn’t really sure what to expect at the moment.

A cold sort of smile graced Lian's face. More than anything she looked like someone who hadn't talked to anyone in for the last few weeks. Bitter and frigid, Lian was wearing the some bland plaid pantsuit that was far too big for her now that she's been losing weight. Her stitches were revealed to the world when Lian turned to one of the poor children. Unsuspecting idiots, she thought nearly laughing out loud when she calmly tapped him on the shoulder. He stared at Lian who didn't say anything but instead nodded her head to Jack. The kid didn't know what to do and kind of looked scared when Lian gripped his shoulder hard before finally saying something. "Darling do you know that sweet man over there?" Lian asked, the kid of course had never seen Jack before in his life.
"That's interesting because he's a werewolf who eats children about your size and age- that's how he protects you of course.” She reasserted to the kid who was mostly in disbelief. “Do you see these?” She asked the child, not even really facing Jack but instead tormenting the poor kid- she didn't really mean to scare him but Lian is terrifying when she's angry. “They’re one-inch long medical staples,” Lian said as she pulled out one nearest the most tender part of her arm- her wrist. A disgusting mixture of blood and puss oozed out and although Lian distinctly felt the pain, she refused to acknowledge it in front of Jack. When the poor kid was traumatized enough, she turned to Jack still holding up the spiky medical staple as though it were a trophy- she wasn’t bleeding nearly as much as she would be had the wound not have been semi-healing this whole time but a good amount of puss was still there from her allergic reaction.
“Jack, oh how I’ve missed you. The sweetest teacher in the world- so how many kids have you eaten so far? Fifty? Maybe Sixty- you don’t strike me as a man who will half-ass something.” She laughed like a senile bat, partly because she was sort of losing her sanity again but mostly because the pain was making her feel nauseous. “A sweet, thoughtful man- I’m sure you think you’re so fantastic. Why you can keep your class average up by just eating the little stragglers right Jack? Your kids must love you- well I mean the kids you DON’T eat. I’m sure you only eat the ones who stare at your too long or ask too many questions; you have every reason to devour children whole. Tell me Jack do you gain anything from this besides the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve become a walking contradiction?” Lian asked, her arm was numb from the overwhelming pain, but Lian refused to show it as she glared at Jack. She wasn’t done, but she paused to take a breather anyway.
