Art smiled “Glad to be here and glad I met you Sam, you’re the first friend I’ve had in a really long time” she said and linking her arm back through his she continued on through the last bit of the market that they had to go through.
After they had come to the end of the market she looked at him “So what do you want to do now?” she asked now looking around.

Sam shrugged. He honestly didn't have any ide- Wait, maybe he did. He held up a finger, meaning "just a moment" and he took out his notebook.
He quickly wrote, "Want to go get something to eat? I heard about a place near here- it's supposed to be pretty cool. My treat. If you're not up to it, we can start walking back to campus." He reddened a little, hoping that she wouldn't get offended or something- he was not so good at this social stuff yet.

Art nodded as he took out his notebook and wrote something down. Reading the note she smiled and nodded “Yeah that would be great! I just realized that I am pretty hungry” she said as her stomach growled. Laughing she put her arm out in front of her “Lead the way” she said.

"Uncle said that the place was a little strange looking from the outside- it's called Leo's. Keep your eyes open. I think it's this way."
That was the note he showed to Art as he ventured and adventurous smile. He led them down a side street, away from the market, which was packing itself up in the sun's dregs of light. It was low enough to color everything a deeper red than it had before- a rusty glow that Sam found particularly appealing.
He happened to look up and he smiled. There were people on the rooftops of the buildings around them. All of them seemed to be absorbed in their own lives, in the sunset.
Little did he know, they were drawing near a shabby old building with a peeling green door and a flickering neon sign reading "Leo's" in lazily curling letters.

Art nodded and followed Sam down the side street. Looking around Art found this kind of exciting, not knowing where she was going or where they’d end up. Finally after a while she saw a flickering neon sign. Nudging him the nodded towards the sign “Is that it?” she asked it probably was considering it said Leo’s but you never know.

Sam looked around when she nudged him. When he saw the sign, then the building, he got a worried look on his face. When his uncle had said that the place was strange, he had thought it would be strange as in artistically designed or something, not dilapidated.
Giving her a vague look that mixed his worry with a spirit of adventure, he opened the door and gestured in.
|| Alrighty: the inside, as described by myself in an earlier roleplay:
Inside, down about three steps and around a corner, there was the heart of Leo's. A bar, tables, nooks... all cozily lit and tasteful in decor. The place's primary colors lie within deep, rich tones of ruby and a midnight blue partnered with tables of a gloriously dark wood that seemed new despite the scores in their surfaces. A dance floor near the back next to a stage.
Leo: And older man with silver strands within his wild mane of gold and tawny... he has a beard of the same colors and brown-amber eyes. (imagine a lion of a man and you've got it||

Art glanced up at him and saw the worried look on his face “Aw, c’mon it’ll be fun” she said nudging him again.
“Thank you” she said walking in, looking around she smiled “This is really cool” she whispered to him. Seeing the man she was assuming was Leo she giggled “I can see why this place is called Leo’s” she whispered again.

Sam nodded, his eyes glittering. There was a certain air to this place- it was nice without being oppressive or having airs that nobody could match. It felt... he tried to think... real.
He gestured to a table because there were no outward signs that said they needed to be seated by a host or hostess.
Presently, though, the person he assumed was Leo walked up to them.
"I know you from somewhere," the man said, staring at Sam. Sam could only shake his head and spread his hands, unable to place this man. Which was suddenly explained when Leo said gruffly, "Your uncle said that you might drop by. Go ahead and have a seat." Then he was gone again, as quickly as he'd approached them.

Art nodded and started walking towards the table; she stopped when Leo began talking to Sam. Shrugging figuring it was a personal matter she continued towards the table, sitting down she waited for Sam by reading the menu.
However she wasn’t really reading the menu she looked at Sam and Leo from over top of the menu, figuring by Sam’s reaction to Leo, she figured he had no idea who this man was. Confused after Leo left Art went back to reading the menu. If Sam wanted to tell her what that was about then he would but she didn’t want to pry. But she did really want to know what that was about.

His face completely blank, Sam sat down across from Artemisia. He glanced at Art and took out his notebook to write something. As he did, he just so happened to glance up and lock eyes with a stranger. This stranger gave him a peculiar look, then turned away.
In that instant, Sam felt cold. Not physically cold. Mentally, emotionally... The man's light blue eyes (so light they were on the cusp of being absolutely colorless) had been so... so... he couldn't think of the word to describe the mix of hatred and disdain. Yet, the other man was smiling. Or had been when he'd seen Sam.
The moment had been so brief that once it was over, Sam shook his head and wondered if he had imagined it.
At second glance, he decided that he had. The man had disappeared.
He went back to his note, hardly remembering what he'd wanted to say. Rook fluffed up his feathers in his cage as Sam scribbled, "Apparently Leo knows my uncle. I guess my uncle mentioned me and told him that I might come about. Have you decided what you're going to order?"

Glancing at Sam as he sat down Art saw a weird look cross his face. Noticing that he was looking past her she looked over her shoulder but so nobody. Turning back around she looked at him quizzically “You ok? You look like you’ve seen a ghost or something?” she asked a little worried. That didn’t seem like a normal thing for Sam, even though they’d just met today Art still had a feeling something was wrong.
Nodding Art smiled “That’s cool” looking back at the menu she nodded “Yeah, I think I’m just gonna have a burger” she decided with a shrug as she closed the menu.

Sam nodded, but his eyes were wary. Could he admit that he had been imagining the entire thing? There was no proof that the man had been there at all. Nonetheless, he wrote down a note to ease the concern he'd seen in Art's face.
"It's nothing. I must be a little tired, that's all." He gave her a warm smile and finished the note with, "That sounds good. I'll have the same."
Leo walked up to the table, a dark look clouding his face, it seemed... but it was gone and Sam again wondered if it was the lighting or his being tired. He blinked a few times, but the older man looked calm and welcoming instead of troubled.
"What would you lovebirds like?" Leo's eyes lingered on the raven's cage for a moment, then returned to Artemisia and Sam.

Nodding Art smiled, but she still had a little doubt in the back of her mind. When Leo came she saw his eyes go to Rook and she suppressed a smile. Seems I’m not the only one who doesn’t like the bird she thought. However she stiffened when he called them lovebirds. “Oh, no we’re not together like that. Just friends” she said glancing at Sam. “But I’ll just have a burger please” she asked smiling.

Leo raised his eyebrows, then shrugged. He nodded when Sam made a gesture that indicated that he wanted the same. "Alright, two burgers for the "just friends". Anything to drink?"
Sam wrote down "Water for me, please..."
He planned on putting some in Rook's cage.
Leo nodded and turned to Art, waiting. Sam jerked his head and blinked his eyes. He was imagining things. It was all in his head.

Rolling her eyes Art nodded “Same, just water.” Once Leo had gone she turned back to Sam and chuckled, “Well that was awkward” she said watching Rook for a second before another question popped into her head. “How does your uncle know Leo?” she asked curiously.
