Amy smiled, shrugging as well. She didn't know what exactly was going on either, but she could hear a faint sound of music. "Sure, let's go,"she answered, standing up and finding a place to throw away her plate and cup. Turning to their new companion, she shrugged. "I think he wants to go dance, and you can tag along with us if you want." She ran her hands through her curled hair, letting it look semi-messy and yet still perfect.
After meeting him, it hadn't been long before she found she actually liked to dance. Hell, she loved it! It was one of the few things that made her feel weightless, carefree, and sexy all in one wonderful cluster. Those feels increased tenfold when she was dancing with somebody as gorgeous as Emilio.
God, she was turning into a little schoolgirl all over again, wasn't she? It was an odd feeling; she had never had to fight for somebody, especially somebody so good looking. Her ex was nothing in comparison, if she were honest. Thepart of Amorina that had loved him would have stood up for him, but that part of her was being held in a cage and prodded with pitchforks with every other part of her. It wouldn't be long before that part of her was dead.

Emilio leapt out of his seat with a childlike exuberance. He was excited and this beat, this rhythmic pulsation that thrummed through his body as natural as heart's contraction. It was a call home, to the faded Mother country, to freedom, to rapture.
He turned and lead a wild way through people to a cleared space nearby. There were others dancing, but he paid them no mind. It was all about the beat. He reached the center of the clearing and froze. His eyes closed and he let the beat pulse within him before beginning.
It was an improper affair- many of his instructors wished that Emilio use more flourishes and overdone movements. The Cuban would never agree. His dancing had a real stamp to it- it was passionate and powerful, but definitely masculine. His heels made a beat of his own to complement the drums and Spanish guitar. Clapping and stomping and leaping- he was so very thankful to be wearing loose, comfortable clothing.
While he danced, he kept half an eye out for Amorina. The minute he saw her, he had a mind to pull her in and teach her this new dance right then and there.
---
Caroline had picked up her brother's plate as well as her flimsy plastic bowl when a light touch on her arm forestalled her from throwing the former away. "If he doesn't want it, I'll take it," their newest acquaintance said seriously. She raised her eyebrows, but handed over the kabobs readily enough.
Nikolai nodded to Amorina. "I will come... yes, it's good to watch..."
Caroline stared at him. He was so odd... his accent, his way of holding himself... the strange way his eyes seemed to catch the light... It must be the wine cooler. Caroline never could hold her alcohol.
She turned slightly red at a memory, then shrugged it off and threaded her way through the crowd in the same direction her brother had taken.

For once in her life, Amorina was thankful for those long legs of hers. Had she been any shorter, she would have had to run to keep up with him. She didn't know where the odd burst of energy had come from until she really heard the music and it's beat, the beat she wished she could dance to.
Her eyes watched his every movement, wishing she had that same passion for something. For somebody's body to be able to move so fast and yet so perfectly. Nothing seemed to be wrong; everything meshed together perfectly, every beat had a step, every step had a beat... Too bad the dancer didn't have a partner. Her body wanted her to go out and join him, but her mind knew better. There was no way she would be able to dance like that while learning on-the-spot.
Turning to Caroline, she smiled and motioned to Emilio. "How does he do that?"she asked, obviously impressed. "Is that a Cuban-thing 'cause, if so, how do I get some? I'm German, the only crazy thing I can do is smell chocolate and beer, and I don't even like beer that much." Amy gave a small laugh, only semi-joking.
A small wave of jealously gnawed at her as she looked at the ground of people watching Emilio. She really didn't have a reason to be; they weren't a couple in the slightest, and, for all she knew, he still just wanted to be friends with her. Still, the jealousy was pushed away with hope when he looked at her. It would be a definite improvement over her last love-interest. Even her parents had said Emilio sounded nice. That was like Hitler saying he had fallen in love with a man. She had never heard it before. Never had anyone been able to impress her parents.
Amy let her body sway a little with the music and the crowd, listening to those who cheered and attempted to clap along. Letting out a rather loud "Woo!", she decided to join the crowd in their boistrous cheering and laughing. It was a giant party and she was going to join it no matter what.

Caroline smiled. "It's an Emilio thing. But admittedly, he's had enough practice. As I understand it, he used to work at a school for dance."
She watched her brother as she said this, feeling both proud and somewhat sad. They'd lost years of friendship to distance... if they could make up even half the time, it would be amazing.
"That is indeed impressive," came the many-accented voice of their new young friend. He had made short work of the kabob... It was nowhere in sight and not even the boy's lips had a speck of grease.
---
There she was. Emilio's head turned toward her voice and his eyes took on happy cast. Immediately, he bounded over and held out his hand. The cheers in he nearby vicinity turned into cries of encouragement.
Emilio attempted his most inviting smile and tried to share his overwhelming confidence that Amorina's presence could only make things better.
---
Caroline watched Emilio stop in his dance to invite Amy in. If she noticed any hesitation or nervousness in her new friend, Caroline was going to bring in a stranger and dance too- the more there were dancing, the less uncomfortable it would be for a newbie, right?
Or would she be in the way?

"That would certainly help,"she said, smiling to herself. What she would give to be able to move like that, to be able to feel the way dancing made you feel all the time.
There were many things she wanted to do, but was too scared to experience. She was too nervous to dance for fear of looking stupid, too scared to travel the world, too smart to go party like the popular kids at her school had.
Emilio was a Godsend. She was about to say something about wishing she could dance like that when he stopped, holding out a hand. Amorina could feel her body burn up, feeling the eyes on her; what was she going to do, say no to him in front of a crowd? Nope. Giving a small shrug and a big smile to Caroline, she placed her hand in his.
She was very scared to dance with him in front of people, not wanting to trip or fall or mess up. Pushing all of that away, Amy kept ahold of her nervously-big smile so that it looked very planned, almost confident. It was the one thing she knew she was not at the moment; confident. With her little heels and short skirt, she knew she would not be leaping like he had unless she wanted to break something while giving the crowd a show. She just hoped he realized that.

The music. The laughter. The fun.
Yup, this was a festival. Sitting down on a bench and observing the people, this was the first party he had ever been to. The smells...the sights, it was overwhelming but in a good way. Looking around the crowd, there is a few people he knew from school but a lot of them where new to him. But, befriending a few people brought his actions towards strangers to a different beat. Rather than run away, he goes towards the crowds.
Seeing a few people dance, his eyes just watched their bodies move as one and his eyes went to a few children running around with balloons. The joy to be happy and at this moment, he was very happy. Reaching next to him, he picked up a cup that was filled with juice and took a sip as he just enjoyed the sight of everyone.

“You’re like the Energizer bunny” Jake said laughing at Sawyer. She was very excited for the festival and was being very fidgety and bouncy while they walked. Sighing she smiled at him “Well if you’d walk faster then maybe I wouldn’t be so jumpy” she said walking faster and began pulling him along. Smirking Jake purposely slowed down, Sawyer felt her hand jerk as Jake slowed down. Turning around she stopped and let go of his hand putting both of hers on her hips. “What do you think your doing?” she asked faking being angry. Jake shrugged innocently “Nothing” he said. “Jake! Let’s go already!” she whined going for his hand again but this time he caught her up in a kiss. Pulling back they smiled at each other, it was a relaxed peaceful moment. “Ok let’s go!” Sawyer said grabbing his hand in a death grip and dragging him the rest of the way to the festival, with him laughing behind her.
Reaching the festival Sawyer was like a kid in a candy store, she couldn’t decide what to do; her attention span was shot so she was dragging poor Jake behind her the whole way. That is until she spotted people dancing. Dragging Jake into the group of other dancers she twirled and once back around put her hands around his neck and he put his hands on her waist and they began dancing.

Emilio lead her slowly at first. He didn't want her to feel nervous... and there were many ways of responding to a beat. And it didn't matter that there was a crowd- other people were already joining in the dance and mistakes would be overlooked in the excitement of the moment.
In this slower version, the movements were a little more exaggerate, forcing passion to show itself in the fewer motions. Still, it was attractive and could be adapted to a faster pace once Amorina was comfortable. Flamenco was like that- it lent itself to a building up of tension in the dancer and a gradually faster tempo.
---
Caroline smiled when the students joined in- it was clearly alright for her to join in too. She would have asked Nikolai, but he shook his head slowly the moment she turned to him. Clearly not much of a dancer. The next man she asked with her eyes gave her a steady smile and nodded. His light-colored eyes entranced her immediately.
They were almost a colorless blue, the kind of blue that one thinks of when a friend says "x-ray". It was cold, but with her perspective warmed by the small amount of alcohol, that didn't matter. What mattered was that he was cute (in a powerful way- kind of like a bearing he had or something), he was smiling at her, and he wanted to dance.
So they did. It wasn't as impressive as Emilio, but it was smoothly done, with seductive elements. They were moving just too fast for conversation, just too slow to get out of breath.
Her partner was a tallish man, with golden blonde hair and pale skin. His facial features were strong and chiseled, but not too overpoweringly masculine. Overall, his face gave one the impression that he was so interested in what he was looking at that he could see through them. He was rangy... though not quite as visibly muscular as her brother.

Amy felt herself look at her feet as soon as he started dancing again, but she looked at him quickly and gave him an apologetic smile. "Lo siento. It's just hard not to look." She was thankful he was going slow, but knew it wouldn't stay like this for long.
Seeing the other people joining in made her relax immensly. Amorina let her body go to the dance, letting herself move in ways she didn't even think she could move. Following his every move was easier once she relaxed, and she found she only glanced at her feet once or twice.
Even with her heels on, she found it easier to dance without the worry. It was like being able to move after being paralyzed; it was like fifty pounds have been lifted off each of her limbs. Her body just let go, moved with the rhythm and with the man leading her.
Looking around for Caroline, she smiled at her other friend when she joined in as well. Amorina's smile faltered when she saw the stranger, but kept it on anyway. Caroline could take care of herself, especially with them right there. It was a party, they were supposed to go out and meet new people anyway!
With all these people around, it was really beginning to feel like a party. Amy was starting to feel like she used to, smiling at Emilio and living in the moment, loving every second of it.

Jared walked into the village square, stumbling as a little boy ran right by him. A festival was going on, why wasn't he informed of this? Shrugging it off like he did with everything else that only bothered him slightly, his interest was quickly taken with everyone dancing together. He knew that Clara danced, and actually liked it... he frowned slightly as he was trying to figure out if his memory was trying to trick him or not. It seemed to doing it a lot lately, or Jared decided it was just him concentrating on other things besides his power...
Sighing from the overwhelming amount of thought going on in his brain, Jared went over to sit on a bench that looked freshly painted. As he sat down though, it only took him a second to realize the paint was still fresh. Jumping up in shock he attempted to look behind him to see the damage that was done to his clothing, "Dangit," he said seeming only to be a little bit bothered by this.

Emilio was so excited, his heart pounded as it had not been a few minutes earlier. He forced himself to calm down, though. He couldn't lose track of the beat now, when he had a beautiful partner to guide and dance with.
She was doing admirably and Emilio was pleased. She'd even corrected herself when she looked down at her feet! He grinned and said before he began to step up the pace a bit and said, "You doing wonderful! Soy orgulloso! Proud!" He lowered his voice and said, "I like slow dances contigo..." he trailed off as he spun her out too far for him to maintain a low tone... "porque you are... closer..."
With that, he stepped up the pace just a tad more.
---
Caroline thought she saw her partner's cool eyes dart out into the crowd and narrow. His mouth formed a word, but no sound came out... She was surprised, really, but his smile came back and it was all over.
Was she imagining things? She must be. He was a wonderful dancer, and she was enjoying herself too much to allow suspicious thoughts.

Hearing that he was proud made her smile grow. She wouldn't deny that she had been practicing with the help of Clara, but she was incredibly glad she had done so. Clara had dabbed in all kinds of dances, but Amy had only remembered a few. Whoever had made Clara start dancing needed to be thanked a million times.
"You can be close in other dances." Amy spun herself in a bit and ran her leg up his smoothly, barely missing a beat. "I've been practicing." Letting her leg back down, she followed him as he picked up the beat, her confidence building up. Even if she did mess up, oh well. They were here to have a good time, and that was exactly what she planned on doing.
Clara sighed as she watched the couples dance, immediately picking out Amy and who she assumed was the man Amy had gone out with. Good. Kenric was probably a faint thought, if a thought at all. It saddened her not to be out there, but she herself had nobody to dance with. At least this explained why Amy had wanted her help to know how to dance so suddenly.
Feeling somebody familiar nearby, she left the group of people silently and walked around, looking. It did not take long. There he was, trying to see his butt and/or back. "Nice butt,"she called out, standing behind him with a small smirk. Clumsy Jared. Leave it to him to sit in wet paint.

At the cat call, or what he assumed was on- Jared jumped in surprise and turned to see Clara smirking at him. Blushing at the memory of the last time they had met and talked, he blushed and scratched the back of his head looking like an overgrown little boy who just got in trouble. "Thanks," he said with a small laugh quickly adjusting his pants which seemed to sag a little bit- for some reason all his clothes seemed to be getting bigger then him which Jared assumed was a problem. He didn't worry about it, he just thought about it. Erin had told him that he was losing weight and was going to become manorexic, Jared really didn't know what that meant but from her tone it was probably something not good. Grinning he walked over to Clara, and not sure whether to give her a hug or not he just stood there for a moment idiotically until finally coming up with something to say "I... uh... Hi."

Emilio felt his face grow hot as she ran her leg up his. But he managed a dashing grin and continued to speed up the pace until it was just a little bit slower than his previous cadence. It was exhilirating to dance with her- she was so beautiful and he could feel a few pangs of jealousy stir- there were probably men watching her.
In this, though, he was blessed. They were condemned to watch while he had the privelege of being close to this absolutely amazing woman. The hispanic threw in a couple of seductive moves, making sure he was not doing anything too forward or inappropriate (he didn't want to scare Amorina off with quick advances, but he wanted to make it clear that he was very interested).
He lived for the moment, but this moment yielded to the next and that to the next. Eventually they would come to the point where the song would end. Emilio hoped that the rest of the night would go as well.
---
Caroline wondered what her partner's name was. Through her head, she ran through theories and discounted each one. The most attractive was that he played music for one the restaurants, had never found the right woman, and had only gone into music because he'd been lucky enough in his job to retire early.
He kept glancing into the crowd, his face getting momentarily dark... what was wrong? She, however, knew her penchant for daydreaming. Perhaps this was another thing she was imagining- her subconscious desire to never be happy. Well, gosh darnit, she was going to ignore it!

It took a lot for her to keep up with him, trying her best to follow his lead with that small, confident smile on her face. This was what she lived for; having fun and living life the best she could. Kenric had always been so depressed and down, never really wanting to have fun for fear of hurting somebody. The more she thought about it, the more she wished she would have just dumped him first.
Amorina knew people watched them, but a part of her realized they were probably watching him. Emilio had been the first to dance; for all they knew, she was just the first woman he saw. Small hopes that he was still interested began to spring back by the way he was dancing with her, but it didn't take long before she was pretty sure of it.
Feeling as if she had to prove to herself (and other people) that they had a possibility of going somewhere, Amorina moved her body in slow movements that easily fit the beat, using her body the way she had a few years ago when trying to win a date's interest at some highschool dance. Though it was hard for her, she made matching his movements look easy.
Clara smiled at Jared, hugging him. Of course she hadn't forgotten the last time they had seen each other. "How have you been, Loverboy?" Keeping her arms around him longer than necessary, she flashed him a smile only he could make her have. Being such an odd child, she only had a few friends as a kid and Jared had been one of the best. She had been scared when he told her he loved her, but she could deal.
The fact that she had once had a crush on him (and that it was quickly being revived) scared her even more. The fear of hurting him still lingered until she pushed it out. Not tonight. She was here to have fun, no matter who it was with.
