"First of all! I don't see why you even had to come here! I think it's set a bad image for Jasmine if we can't tell people we're married, and what's the problem anyways!? You've stuck around this long! Why can't you just stay another 50 years? And plus nowadays there's divorce...," Sade glanced back at Claude sending him a predatory glare. Back when she was younger, it seemed as if they're arguing would fade away... but it stayed strong into their adulthood. Dressed in faded blue jeans, a tight black t-shirt and with large sunglasses planted firmly on her face Sade caught attention thanks to how movie star-ish she looked.
It was hard for her to notice the stares though, thanks to the fact that she was concentrated on nagging Claude. As always. Letting out a large sigh she turned to him again, "I get so tired of you sometimes," she mumbled tiredly as she walked- making her way to the coffee shop.

Claude quietly listened to Sade’s little rant, his hands stuffed deep into the pockets of his dark blue jeans. Keeping pace with her was easy enough, but he didn’t really want to. When she was in one of her moods, Claude just wanted to find a nice quiet place to sit down and do nothing. Once she finished nagging at him, Claude cleared his throat, turning to face her. Just like her, his eyes were hidden behind dark sunglasses. “First of all, I’m not leaving my kid,” he told her sternly. The thought was a crazy one, he wasn’t about to walk away from the love of his life and his daughter. “Second, you’re insane,” he suppressed a small little smirk and continued, “You want me to marry you, and then get a divorce?” He shook his head. He wasn’t sure what she wanted at this point, mixing marriage with divorce in one sentence sent his mind into a frenzy.
“I don’t see what’s so wrong about just staying the way we are for now,” he mumbled. When she said something about getting tired about him, Claude grinned. "Oh, I love you too!" he gushed jokingly.

"I never said to marry and then divorce me! Don't twist my words!" she complained opening the door of the coffee shop and walking in. "I see everything that's wrong with the way we are now," she said ignoring his teasing remark. Taking her attention away from Claude for a moment, she bought some water and a sandwhich- not bothering with the actual coffee. Once she got her things she turned back to Claude with her lips pursed, "I don't like it at all," she said.

“Whatever,” Claude rolled his eyes, though it was hard to see behind his shades. Claude strolled into the coffee shop right behind Sade, walking up to the counter and paying for a simple bottled water. At the moment, he wasn’t all that hungry, so why waste money on food he wasn’t going to eat? Claude, eyes still concealed, kept his comments to himself and instead grabbed Sade by the elbow, tugging her towards a small table. “It’s not like being married changes your life or anything, you just waste money on a ceremony. We already live together, we have a kid together, and we argue as much as the next married couple. What more do you want?! A ring? A fancy little dress to wear once down an aisle? Marriage is nothing but a scam to get vain and conceited people to spend thousands of dollars on something that, as you said, leads to divorce most of the time,” with a huff, Claude opened his water and took a large gulp from it, waiting for the backlash he was sure he would get from Sade.

Sade allowed him to drag her over to the table, sitting down at it and listening as he spoke she felt the sudden urge to knock him senseless. She supposed it was just a guy thing, a letting out a long drawn out sigh she took a sip from her water bottle then took a few bites of her sandwhich. "You don't understand," she finally said attempting to bottle up some of her anger but failing miserably "That's not what all marriage is about! It's about commitment, love, honour, being there in sickness and in health!" pushing her glasses up a little bit she pinched her nose and then sighed again. Glancing over at him she noticed that all Claude had bought was a water bottle. "Good god, I hope you don't do that around Jasmine," she said as she took off her glasses and put them on her shirt "It's one thing to barely eat anything but another to inspire a child not to eat too," she considered giving him half of her sandwhich but then thought against it. "I swear if I see her not eating I'm blaming you."

“If I recall correctly, we’ve already been there ‘in sickness and in health,’” Claude pointed out, not bothering to really look at her in the face right at this moment. She was probably ready to rip his throat out at this point, but in all reality, he just didn’t get the whole marriage deal. “Sade, I am committed to you, and I do love you, I don’t see why you have to bring marriage into the equation!” He took another drink from his water bottle before she spoke up again. He was about to ask what exactly it was that he was doing, but she managed to answer his question before he spoke it. “I’m not trying to inspire anything, I’m not hungry. Why eat when you don’t feel the need to?” he shrugged, however, the image of his daughter becoming nothing but skin and bone began nagging him at the back of his mind and he quietly made a promise to eat a little more around her. No need to tell Sade that, though, why give her the satifaction?

"You're too skinny," she complained "You need to eat." Sade of course didn't bother to take in account her own thin body. Although, she was thin Sade naturally had more curve then Claude making her seem more healthier than him. Finally deciding upon something Sade stood up and leaned over the table, a little thankful that she was wearing a shirt that covered up her breasts. With both of her hands she took of Claude's sunglasses, but them on her shirt next to her own and then gave him a light peck on the lips. Sitting back down in her seat she smiled at him for a moment before speaking, "There, that's the last kiss you'll ever get from me until you propose. In fact, that's the last- anything from me you'll get. If you won't marry me then we can just be friends."

“I do eat,” Claude murmured indignantly. Claude did eat, and quite a bit at that, was it his fault that his body just burned calories a lot faster than most peoples bodies did? Not at all, and her always making comments about it was really starting to bother Claude. When Sade made a move to lean forward, Claude unconsciously moved back, thinking that she was about to slap him or punch him or cause some sort of damage to his person. When she merely took his sunglasses off, he breathed a sigh of relief. The kiss was unexpected, and extremely light and, well, short. It was odd for them to go from arguing to such a formal, innocent little peck on the lips. And then she started talking again.
Friends. The word echoed in his mind like the only clear thought he’d ever managed to think up, that long with the word propose, last kiss and last anything were really just bouncing off around in his head. “Well…,” Claude looked at Sade, her and her cheery little smile that made him want to yell as loud as possible. “Wait, that’s not fair, I wasn’t ready!” Claude griped, “Do it again,” he half begged, half demanded. This was insane, two people who had a child together weren’t meant to be just friends!

Sade sighed- something she seemed to be doing a lot of lately. Standing up she muttered "Fine." leaning over the table she gave him another kiss- she lingered so Claude wouldn't complain but kept her mouth closed not wanting to be seen making out in public.
(ooc; so short. T_T;)

Claude was more than happy when Sade kissed him again, though the fact that they were in public really limited what they could do. Why did she have to make a choice like this when other people were around?! After a bit of time, Claude pulled away, sighing as he leaned his head against his hand and stared at Sade. “So, you’re breaking up with me, pretty much?” he asked her bluntly. Obviously, he was just another friend, just any other person now. He thought about his daughter, about Jasmine, and raised an eyebrow at Sade. “What are you going to tell Jasmine?” Along with that, Claude wondered how that would affect their whole living situation, would he get kicked out of the house? Did he have to find his own place now? God, this sucked.

"You're still living in the house and you will be Jasmine's father, like always" she said as she moved away from him and sat down. "But you're just my friend," she looked at him carefully. "That is of course until you propose to me," at that little comment she relaxed a little bit and let herself smile slightly. Right now, Sade thought she was pretty much a brillant woman. Leaning back into her chair a little bit she examined her nails for a second then looked back at Claude, "But yes, I am breaking up with you."

“Ouch,” Claude mumbled when Sade proclaimed their break up official so casually. Rubbing his face with his hands, he stared at the table for a little bit, “Fair enough, but don’t hold your breath,” he told her, his voice a mixture of sadness and sarcasm. In his mind, Sade was just being ridiculous and making things far more complicated than they had to be. He would never understand people and their sick little obsession with marriage. With that in mind, Claude angrily took a swig from his water bottle and then screwed the top back on. He wasn’t one hundred percent sure how to feel about this. Yeah, it kind of hurt to have her break up with him, but it was because she wanted to marry him, which mean she loved him enough to want to commit to him and only him for the rest of their lives, but her methods were cruel and unusual.

"Oh believe me, I won't," she snapped finding herself close to yelling at him. Finally unable to decide if the conversation was finished or not, Sade stood up- having finished eating her sandwhich and her water bottle. Throwing her trash away she returned to Claude but only for a moment, "Think over it, while you're thinking I'm buying some school clothes for Jasmine," and with that Sade walked out of the coffee shop.
