"No sane person would want to go for a swim in the middle of an ocean"
Alex was joking of course since he had just submerged himself in the water. After explaining he had gained enough strength he got up and put his pants back on. It felt good to be warm and to be honest he had been extremely embarrassed that a person had seen him in his boxers running toward the ocean at a frightening pace and getting himself saved by that very same girl that had seen him running into the ocean. While he was embarrassed that he had done that he resolved to thank her.
Alex then proceeded to put his clothing back on stopping at his sweatshirt. He had noticed that she had been covered in a wet, thin dress and she must have been cold.
"Put this jacket on, you are completely wet and to be honest its not wise to look like that in front of a teenager."
Alex didn't mean to say something so weird , but it fell out of his mouth as he offered his outer jacket to her. Alex had a bad habit of doing these things and as a result he had let the truth slip from his lips.
"Not that I was staring, you just seemed cold."

Nina was somewhat saddened at the fact that she didn't get to use her powers a defibrillator. That was always so cool in movies and she'd wanted to shout clear and zap the poor boy. Or at least write "CLEAR!" in all caps very largely on a piece of paper. But....he seemed okay. She listened and tried to restrain herself from laughing as these two students had a very awkward encounter and an even more awkward conversation. She giggled slightly as they both ended up blushing and trying to accomplish...well Nina wasn't quite sure what they were accomplishing at all.
When Alex asked in his delirious state why Elleko had brought Nina, she shrugged and pointed to her book and made several gestures that could only have meant that she had wandered by while reading.

Elleko's blush deepened even further at his comment and she stared at the jacket like a foreign object for a moment before hesitantly taking it. To be honest, she was cold. Standing out in the winter air in a wet dress wasn't exactly comfortable. "I-I...I l-like the o-ocean," she told him as she slowly put the jacket on over her dress. "E-even when i-it's c-cold." She flicked her tail as if to indicate her appearance as a whole, wrapping her arms around herself again. His jacket was comfortably warm, not that she could possibly say that aloud. Not to a total stranger, even if she had just dragged him out of the freezing water and possibly saved his life. "A-and Th-thank y-you," she added quickly, not wanting to seem rude.

"Why are you giggling?"
Alex had heard the other girl giggle and was quite confused, he wasn't quite sure why she giggled but it didnt seem to be the nicest thing in the world. He didn't like being laughed at, it didn't feel good though he ignored the feeling as he was still embarrassed with the previous events that occurred. He had understood though, after a little hindsight, that she had been on a wandering stroll and happened on him running nearly naked towards the water. Alex sighed and turned back to Elleko.
"Is the jacket warm? It might smell a little bit, but since I washed it yesterday it should be fine."
Honestly, Alex wanted to thank both of the people and he had decided to do so, at least in an IOU favor for them. It didnt set well with him, but he didn't have anything to give at the moment and he was also bad at parting with what he did have. He steeled himself as he said:
"Thanks... both of you, i would like to repay you somehow..."
Alex smiled in a slightly defeated manner, not really sure what to do considering his life had indeed been saved.

"I-it's p-plenty warm, th-thank you," Elleko told him truthfully, seeming to burrow deeper into the jacket's comfort and warmth. When he claimed he wanted to repay them, though, she blinked in susprise, silent. Repay her? But she hadn't done anything special; anybody would have helped him. Wouldn't they? She didn't need to be repaid for it. Somebody talking to her for once was about all she needed. She was a painfully shy person, yes, but that didn't mean it wasn't a bit lonely. Of course, after this encounter they wouldn't have any reason to talk again, would they? Unless he wanted to. Did he? She wouldn't mind that.
Pulling herself out of her whirling thoughts, Elleko shook her head. "O-oh, y-you don't have to...t-to r-repay m-me, I d-didn't...do a-anything."

Alex smiled a bit as he saw the girl seem to bury herself in his jacket, he enjoyed the fact that she had found the jacket comfortable; he certainly did. The relatively large jacket seemed to dwarf the 5 foot 3 inch girl in front of him, making her look quite childish, even though he knew that she probably was around the same age as him. He chuckled a little bit and nodded, not really in response to anything but just liking what he was seeing, of course he wouldnt say anything like that aloud.
"Oh, just wondering what dorm are you in? Now that I think about it I think I saw you around campus. It would be cool to see you again so i can repay you."
Alex had been bothered for a couple minutes because he had thought he had seen Elleko before, so he thought maybe he had seen her around the dorm area due to logical progression.

"D-dorm?" Elleko echoed, surprised by his question. It hadn't been what she was expected him to ask, though, come to think of it, she wasn't sure what she'd been expecting. She wasn't exactly good at this sort of thing. As much as she would have loved to be as smooth and outgoing as others keeping her head down and keeping to herself came much more naturally to her, amd human social etiquette was so difficult to grasp. "I'm i-in P-Pyxis," she answered after a beat of silence, blushing again at how long it took her to answer the simple question. "What about y-you?" She knew she'd seen him around school but didn't know anything beyond that. He had to be older than her--he was so tall. But then, almost everyone was tall to her. She hadn't grown an inch since she'd been about eleven.

"Oh so you are in Pixys as well, that explains why I know you from somewhere. I am in Pixys as well, contrary to my obvious decision that portrays stupidity."
Alex tries to laugh and coughing a coughing fit racks over his body. As he coughed he saw the sick icon appear in his vision. The effect of the quest had taken effect, that is, the horrible cold would probably incapacitate him for several days after the event. He hated when he was sick, especially because he wasn't used to being sick at all. He reflected back to when he had contracted a fever that forced his body temperature over 102 degrees Fahrenheit. He could barily walk during that time, and he had no doubt something similar would occur.
"I am going to get going because I cant stay out in this weather for too much longer *cough**cough*. Keep the jacket for now, return it to me when *cough* we hang out again."
As Alex turned around he was stricken dizziness and a splitting headache and stumbled and ran into a tree sideways. Was it always this hard to walk in a straight line?

That did explain why she had seen him around before, if they were in the same dorm. Even though she didn't spend much time with her dorm-mates outside of class, preferring to spend her free time alone swimming or reading, he was nevertheless around often. "O-okay," she said in response to his telling her to keep the jacket for now, watching him walk off in stunned silence as his last few words echoed in her head, feeling very un-Pyxis-like herself for this reaction. Hang out again? He wanted to hang out again? Did this count as hanging out? Elleko thought it was closer to an awkward, confusing, and temporarily life-threatening accidental meeting, but who was she to judge these things? She certainly didn't mind the wording he'd used. Hanging out again sounded...nice. She felt her face heat up in yet another blush--curse this open-air world that seemed to make blushing so much noticeable than underwater--at the very thought of this but thankfully he was already heading in the other direction.
And then he crashed into a tree and she jumped, rushing forward noticeably more clumsily than she had moved in the water. Webbed feet were not easy to walk on. "A-are y-you alright?" she asked as she reached him. "You sh-should g-go inside a-and...and l-lay d-down or s-something."

Alex responded to Elleko's concern with coughing. Its not like he didn't want to answer her but it was a neverending cycle of coughing and gasping for air. His lungs screamed as he sucked for air. He hunched over to see if the coughing would abate a little. As a result he managed to spit out an "I'm fine" before another cycle of coughing started. Alex sat down with his back to the tree recuperating for a second as his body seemed to temporarily stop coughing. That is when another quest prompt popped up in his view. He stared at the prompt.
() NEW QUEST!: Go home alone Rewards: exp 5 accept/decline ()
"I'll be fine, go ahead. If a little cold would stop me I wouldn't be much of a human that would do well in foresta. I am just gonna take a quick break here."
Alex wanted to get a little help, but his quest for exp had taken precedence above his health again. He used his finger to click the accept button. Odd, really, that it gave him a physical accept of decline button. He didnt think about it and motioned for both fo the people in the area to start to get going before him.

Elleko didn't stray from Alex's side throughout his coughing fit, dark eyes full of concern. She knew he wasn't fine and she certainly couldn't just walk away and leave him on the cold beach gasping for breath. What kind of person would she be?
Okay, so maybe there had been some situations in the past where walking away would have been better, but she still couldn't bring herself to do it. She was caring to a fault, she supposed.
"A-are you s-sure?" she asked carefully, hovering awkwardly beside him. She didn't want to bother him--she always worried she would be a bother to people--but she knew she'd feel bad if she didn't make sure he was really okay to be left on his own. And then when he moved his finger her curiosity took over and she asked another question, head cocked slightly so her hair fell across one side of her face. "W-what w-was that?" It was an odd gesture and she couldn't see a reason for it.

"it was acce... I mean it was nothing"
Alex cursed inside his head. He didn't want her to stay so that he could collect on the reward. As a result, he tried to pass off the motion as a random motion that he didn't notice. He realized that any person would be able to see that he was sick and a little dizzy, and as a result he realized it would become increasingly difficult to make sure he obtained the exp that was offered. Why did these quests have to be so annoying?
"please don't think too much about me and go home, I'm perfectly fine."
Alex held back a couple coughs as he tried to convince her that he was okay. It hurt... a lot, but it was necessary in order to complete his quest. Alex then sighed and got up, his legs felt like lead, his head hurt, and the world swirled around him, but he closed his eyes and smiled. His smile was quite confidant as he looked at Elleko's general direction, of course, it was crafted to disarm Elleko's concern.

For another moment Elleko hovered, picking at her blunted claws anxiously. She kept them filed short both to make it easier to handle objects and to keep from scaring or accidentally scratching people with them, so they had taken on the appearance of unusually thick and oddly-shaped, black-painted fingernails, though now their ends were rapidly becoming jagged as she scraped tiny layers off. This was a bad nervous habit she had but no matter how she'd tried to break it she still did it. "A-alright," she murmured finally, tucking the hair that had fallen in her face behind her ear and slowly backing away. She was still reluctant to leave, talking to fill the silence and perhaps even stall a bit. "A-are you s-sure y-you don't w-want me t-to...I-I d-don't know, h-help you b-back, at l-least?" He didn't entirely look like he could make it on his own.

Alex looked at Elleko and was slightly shocked. why did she pick her nails like that. Was she that nervous? Alex didnt understand as he watched her back up. He knew though that it seemed to be a bad habit looking at the state of her nails and how she hadn't stopped. Alex stared at her critically for a moment and sighed. This type of thing registered as something close to self harm in his mind, of course he could be wrong bit he still didn't want to let her continue doing so. A chance for exp would come again, this required his attention first.
"Actually, to be honest I cant walk very well can you help me?"
Alex asked her to help him in order to stop that... picking. Alex shivered as he didn't like it at all, but of course it just seemed like he was shivering in the cold.

Immediately Elleko nodded, stepping back towards him. "O-of c-course." She hovered again awkwardly, trying to figure out how to help without making an absolute fool of herself. She'd seen others help each other walk by one putting an arm over the other's shoulders and the other putting an arm around the first's waist--would that work? He was so much taller than her she wasn't sure if it would be uncomfortable. She could probably handle his weight if needed--she was stronger than she looked, being a predator by nature--but she was still fairly little. Or would that be too awkward? Cursing her prone-to-overthinking mind and socially awkward nature she settled for hesitantly holding out one arm for him, hoping it was at least somewhat helpful and that he wouldn't be too freaked out by the fin along her forearm.
