TERRANCE ANNE BRIGHID
NICKNAME Terr AGE 18 BIRTHDAY 8/12/1996 SPECIES Human ETHNICITY ? GENDER Female SEXUALITY Undecided DORM Serpens POWER Energy Shield Construction Like the name suggests, Terrance is able to create an energy shield by focusing both her physical/mental power and her aura into an almost physical state. Although he has learned to create many things with her power, she is limited to defensive items such as swords, force fields, or axes and is unable to create items such as chairs, bookshelves etc. Her powers feed off her aura, so whatever she creates will project itself in the same color of her aura which is a Champlain blue. Because her powers are fueled almost entirely by some type of energy source, anything she creates will appear as 3-dimensional and translucent. In order to be able to form an object, Terrance must visualize what she wants (like an axe for example) while allowing her energies to flow through her freely. Only after she has done this will the axe appear and, despite the color and odd dimensional appearance, it will be just as strong and sharp as an axe that was forged by hand. Limitations - Any weapon she creates may be broken if they meet too much power or a power they cannot withstand. - Can only create tool-objects ( Sword, hammer, wall etc) - Learning how to create objects can take time, depending on what the object it is that sheâs learning. Therefore, Terrance can only use objects that she has learned already. - If she uses her power for too long, she will become very tired and/or hunger ( usually both). If pushed to the point of total exhaustion, she may faint or need a few days to recover, although she had never pushed herself to that point before.
APPEARANCE Standing just under 5â8, Terrance has dark ,medium length red hair that hangs just past her shoulders in natural waves.A lot of times, she wears her hair down unless sheâs working out but every once in awhile sheâll style just because she can. Her thin lips are a light, rosy color and most often times are pulled to one side in a faint smirk. Mischievous green eyes stand out brightly against her fair complexion which gives her face a delicate appearance. Because of her seemingly fragile appearance, sheâs subject to being underestimated despite being lean and toned from running and occasional weight lifting. On her inner left forearm is a partial tattoo of a colored cherry blossom branch. If one were to investigate further than the image itself, they would find that itâs covering a thin scar (described in her background) . The tattooâs delicate branch covers the scar at itâs base and continues toward her wrist , spanning about half her forearm when it finally ends. The flowers of her tattoo are a pinkish red color which happens to tie into the reds in her hair. To her, the tattoo symbolises her ability to âblossomâ from negative happenings- but good luck getting her to explain it to you. PERSONALITY She's sarcastically impolite and adventurous. She can be the equivalent of playing with fire at times and loves investigating the world around her, even if it means getting into trouble. If she was a stereo, her volume would be set to the max while blaring songs like âHair of the Dogâ and âHighway to Hellâ. Sheâs very confident in herself and hardly ever doubts her own judgement, although sheâs slow to put her trust into somebody sheâs just met. Believe it or not she does have a soft side, but itâs only been shown to a handful of lucky souls. The chances of her letting her guard down around you are about the same as lightning striking twice in the same spot- incredibly rare, but not unheard of. The only sign that she (might..perhaps) trust you, is if she invites you to go stargazing or do something that doesnât involve getting into mischief.( Be mindful though, as the offer is usually proposed only once and the window of opportunity is limited.) Anything romantic makes her gag and she makes a hard effort not to get â feelingsâ for anyone, claiming itâs nothing but pitiful drama. Occasionally sheâll go as far as putting others down for being in any sort of relationship and pointing out how far sheâs made it on her own. In reality, sheâs scared of the idea of relying on somebody else because she doesnât want to be shunned like she was by her family. She also struggles severely with the concept of asking for help when she needs it. The only time she finds herself out of her comfort zone is when she has to put on a dress and act like a âproper ladyâ which, letâs be real here, she sucks at. She prefers to hang out and relax with the guys but can also steal your breath when wearing a dress. WEAKNESSES Terranceâs weaknesses include being domineering, untrusting, and unsympathetic. In her mind, everything must be done in a specific order or itâs wrong. This could be anything from folding socks to setting a table for dinner, which is why she prefers to do things on her own. If she sees somebody doing something that she feels is the âwrong wayâ sheâll make sure to let them know which can lead to her being viewed as controlling (which is kind of true) and picky.
As far as trust goes, she feels thereâs more to friendships than people just wanting to be in the company of others. Thereâs always a catch somewhere, and she doesnât feel like trying to read the fine print on every person she comes across. Itâs much easier to keep them at armâs length until sheâs had time to figure them out and discover their true motive, if they have any. She is also afraid of letting her guard down since sheâs always been shunned by her family for not hiding her true self. Although she holds a strong poker face, sheâs really just terrified that others wonât like the ârealâ Terrance. This keeps her from asking for help, even if sheâs desperate for assistance in both school and life in general.
Her lack of sympathy also stems from her fear of being shunned, although growing up she was never a cuddly child like the rest of her siblings. Over time, given her background, sheâs learned that crying solves nothing and itâs better to suck it up and deal with the situation at hand. Unfortunately not everybody has the same emotional outlook as she does and it creates..issues. While a majority of people would attempt to comfort a distressed friend, Terrance finds consoling people to be unnervingly uncomfortable and usually stands awkwardly or removes herself altogether. Depending on the level of importance of the situation (like a simple break up) she may become annoyed and voice her opinion if the subject is doted on for too long. She feels there are more important things to be worried about other than why Jimmy left you for Susie Q. STRENGTHS Terranceâs strengths include being independent, imaginative, and courageous. Because sheâs lived on her own for a few years already, Terrance is very comfortable with handling tasks on her own. She is efficient and works quickly to complete a project/ job thatâs been given to her. While sheâs not exactly a team player, she has a lot of ideas that could prove useful for certain situations or projects. Sheâs a sucker for daydreaming to the point she has a specific journal to take note of any dreams and will refer back to them if she feels they may be of some use.
Her final strength is her courageous nature. Itâs very seldom that sheâll back away from a challenge, whether it be a battle, or a verbal skirmish. Sheâs protective of her friends ( what few she may have) and wonât hesitate to stand up for them even if it means putting herself in harmâs way. Sheâs strong in the sense of holding her ground and refusing to give up until she has exhausted all of her resources.
HISTORY She grew up as the middle child in an overcrowded family who had little patience in dealing with wild spirits. Her brothers and sisters were perfect copies of their parents: reserved, bland, and overly cautious of their known powers while Terrance seemed to be the complete opposite. Her parents hardly ever used their powers; believing that acting as ânormalâ as possible was the only way to be accepted in society. Why have powers if you werenât going to use them as they were intended?? With strong cravings for adventure, sneaking out of the house at night to practice her powers became a routine operation. At the age of fifteen, Terrance knew that she was talented and capable of many great things if she learned to control her powers correctly-much to her familyâs disapproval. In the course of about two years, she had learned to control her powers and took pride in knowing she had taught herself to harness such a strength but quickly became the black sheep of the family because of her actions. At the age of seventeen, her family feud finally came to a head and her parents presented her with two options; giving up her powers or leaving the house. She packed her bags and left before dinner had ended. In a bittersweet way, it was the best thing that could have happened to her and although she lived in and out of old putrid motel rooms for the majority of a year, she did not regret leaving her family.
Due to her low âincomeâ(which she obtained by learning how to pickpocket ), she could only afford to stay in the lower, less protected areas of town and was once held at knife point because of it. The man got away with forty dollars and left Terrance a reminder of the attack in the form of a thin scar on her left inner forearm. The scar is roughly three inches and length and starts not far after the bend of her elbow. It takes up about two thirds of her forearm. Over time she inched her way closer to the Pacific and eventually caught word of an island for people like her. She found Forestaâs location through local chatter and left as soon as she could. It would be a perfect place to work on strengthening her powers to the best of her ability as well as find people just as free spirited as she was.
