tag; Turtlus Silence settled in Valentina's office as the Headmistress scanned over a student's file that lay in front of her. With a thoughtful expression, the older woman considered all of the information laid before her. Nonetheless there was a job to be done and the Headmistress was here to do it.
Clad in professional clothing, Valentina was a picture of rules and good behavior. The only thing that suggested otherwise was that she wore her hair down today instead of up, a personal choice that she enjoyed from time to time. Leaning down, Valentina pulled a small notepad out from her desk to write down anything that she would consider important and useful in the future.
It wouldn't be long now until the student showed up, until then Valentina made herself busy by looking other documents for the student arrived.

This had to be it, for it was the only room he had not yet checked. So far every room had either been unoccupied, or housed an instructor non-too pleased to have their class distracted by the most majestic being that would ever grace the earth. The older worms were probably just jealous that their own knowledge was nothing in comparison to that of a god. A strikingly handsome god no less, who's looks only made their own deteriorating worm-bodies look even worse in comparison. He was honestly surprised they did not end their own lives out of sheer depression on the spot. Perhaps he would look into inducing such a reaction with his beauty after he got done with this acadumbic meeting.
Taking a step forward, Knell knocked once on the door that stood before him. "Hello, it is the great and powerful Knell. I am here for the counselor-guidance, may I enter?" he called into the room. Hopefully this was the right room, otherwise chances were he'd end up late to the real thing.
(ooc: not sure if the door was actually open or not, if you were assuming it was we could just roll with fart knocking on the doorframe I guess)

Valentina wasn't waiting for long until the student she was expecting finally arrived. He introduced himself with ease and Valentina called back out to the small figure, "You may come in."
Taking some of the papers that were on her desk related to school business, the woman opened up one of her desk drawers and slipped them in. What remained on her desk were simple two decorative objects, a notepad and a professional looking pen.

Upon receiving permission to enter Knell bypassed the door entirely, ghosting through the wall and into the office. When he regained physical form he immediately preformed a formal European bow and scrape. "I am humbled to be in the presence of the prestigious Headmistress of Foresta, and thank you for agreeing to assist me." For the first time since his half-life as Neel the shade spoke respectfully to someone that wasn't himself, without having some level of sarcasm evident in his voice. This was not someone he wanted to gain the ire of. "I must also thank you for being kind enough as to allow me residence and education within these halls. You are much too kind."
The god glanced down at the two chairs before him, and then back at Valentina. Were the chairs there for specific occasions or was it standard practice to sit down at these meetings? "Before we get started with the topic of my academical standing I must ask, do your social norms dictate that I take a seat, or would it be polite of me to remain standing? I do not wish to offend." He hoped for a quick answer so that they could move onto the purpose of the meeting. Keeping his schooling on track was necessary for his continued stay at the Academy, but it still bored Knell immensely.
(ooc: No worries, I don't mind)

Valentina watched as Knell phased into her office, passively sensing the full extent of his powers. Surprised and pleased at his bow, Valentina nodded in kind - acknowledging Knell's expressed gratitude for being at the school. For as difficult as it was sometimes, Valentina truly did enjoy her job - the potential to benefit others gave her much reward in turn.
"Whichever you feel most comfortable with, Knell." Valentina responded then - making sure her words came out slowly and smoothly. The Headmistress was accustomed to calling most students by their last names with a Mr. or Mrs. before it, but for the few students that didn't have last names she often practiced to herself in privacy pronouncing the names with ease and no hesitation. First names were an incredibly personal thing for her, but she was aware that most students did not have the same view as she did.
"In my home country as well as where I grew up, it is accepted to sit during a meeting like this - but if you feel the desire to stand, I will not stop you." Valentina explained to Knell then, glancing down at her papers for a moment to prepare herself for what she was going to say next.
With a serious expression, Valentina's voice came out soft and professional as she explained what was going to happen for the rest of the meeting. "Knell, since this our first meeting I would like for you to know that we won't be using any powers today. This will be more of a understanding of what you would like to achieve while you're here at Foresta and how I as your guidance counselor can help you in any means. We will most likely just be talking for this meeting, do you understand?"

The Limbo Lord momentarily hesitated as he was pulling a chair out to sit in. While it was impossible to tell from expression alone, the mention of powers being used at this meeting had filled him with a sense of dread. Not because he wary of Valentina's powers, though he was, but because the whole explanation had seemed to out of place and...convenient. He had been wondering with dread what the headmistresses's abilities could be ever since he had learned the academy had one, and being stuck in a small room with what was likely currently the most powerful being on this island was not something he was too keen on. He had even written in his little observation notes about it. He hoped it was just some ludicrously unnerving coincidence.
He quickly resumed taking a seat, all the while thinking up an acceptable excuse for his momentary pause. "I apologize for my indecisiveness, but I was just taken aback by being presented with an option to sit, not a command. I... did not expect that." At this point anyone who knew even the slightest bit of Knell's usual antics would know that he was nowhere near sentimental about anything.
"And in answer to your question, I do understand. Though admittedly I assumed all meetings of this sort would be just discussion, without any use of powers even remotely involved." For once the god spoke honestly. Perhaps that statement would goad the headmistresses into informing him of just WHY she said the whole spiel about powers it in the first place.

Valentina watched as Knell took a seat, noting his observation about being given a choice - the Headmistress nodded lightly seeming pleased at the thought. As he spoke some more though, Valentina explained herself with ease "I have met with students before under the impression that they would be using their powers from the get-go. Some are impatient to understand, so I must explain at the beginning of every meeting to every student I meet so that there are no misunderstandings."
There was a long pause before Valentina continued on against, glancing down at her notepad before observing Knell once more. "Moving on, shall we begin?"
Waiting for Knell's reply that he was ready, Valentina started with her first question. "If you could please explain your reasons for wanting to attend Foresta Academy and what you wish to learn from gaining an education here?"

The answer Valentina gave only served to further confuse Knell. He was not sure why anyone would assume they would be using their powers in a meeting, let alone be impatient to do so. 'Typical earth-maggot logic,' he snickered mentally. In the end he decided that it was of no concern to him, unlike the question the headmistress had just presented.
"Why do I want to attend Foresta Academy? Because I require further knowledge on this reality before I can achieve my purpose, I AM a member of Serpens after all," he explained, adding a small chuckle at the end to make it sound like he was joking with the headmistress. He then made a noise resembling someone clearing their throat before switching to a more serious tone. "Mankind has a inherent fear of the unknown, as I am sure most residents of this island are well aware of, and seeking an education anywhere else is all but impossible due to my appearance alone. In all likelihood I will be remaining on this planet till the sun dies, so I might as well get a proper introduction to how it and it's inhabitants work." The shade was confident the head of the academy would fall for his deception. To his credit the two had not ever met face-to-face, and his face had remained in the static image of his usual grin throughout the whole meeting, giving the woman no facial expressions to work with.

Valentina listened to Knell's response with interest, observing him as he spoke and his constant state of amusement. Noting his never changing expression, Valentina made a thoughtful noise of contemplation as she scribbled some notes down on her note pad. "I see," Valentina finally responded then after a few second delay.
The woman appeared to be either uninterested or not bothered by Knell's permanent what seemed lighthearted persona. Her purpose being just to remain as neutral as possible. "With that being said, your life span is much longer than mine and we do have some staff members on the island that have a significant life span as well. Would you at all be interested in talking with one of them?" It was an easy question to fall into considering Valentina was just a human. The question though more than anything else was just an easy proposition and Valentina planned to continue on with the meeting if Knell refused.
