FULL NAME Ashlynn Jane Doe
NICKNAME Lynn
AGE 14
BIRTHDAY July 29th
GENDER Female
SPECIES Human Avian
SEXUALITY Straight
DORM Lyra
POWER Ashlynn's powers are Flight and Bird Communication. She was kidnapped when she was 6 and injected with Sparrow DNA to see how she would react. As a result, she grew wings and other adaptions for flight such as hollow bones and air sacs. She loves flying and is as high as she can be as often as possible.
Flight: She has wings, and as a result can fly like a bird would. She can fly until she gets tired and lands. She is pretty bad at flying, compared to a bird. She still has much to learn about flight and all the ways to move her wings. Her wings attach where the shoulder blades would be, and are covered with feathers. They look like a sparrow's wings.
Bird Communication: Ashlynn can communicate with birds since she has bird DNA. She can speak only with sparrows. She can not understand any other kind of birds, only sparrows. She might be able to, with lots of hard work, to speak with other birds, but she sees no need to, and she doubts that she will ever speak to other kinds of birds. Her jaw is slightly pointed, invisible from the human eye but allowing her to do several different chirps. Her voice-box also is different from humans, making it hard to say certain human words, but allowing her to communicate with the birds.

APPEARANCE
Ashlynn is short for her age, typically the smallest kid in class at only 4/6. She also only weighs around 70 pounds, as her bones are hollow and she is super skinny. Her bones are stronger than a normal human, although they are hollow. They are hard like metal, as a result of a test to make her stronger and a better fighter. She is short and thin, tiny like a sparrow. Her back appears to bulge a little since she has her wings under her outfit. Her skin is tanned, almost like a latte with extra cream. She has long, mousy brown hair that is super soft. She typically has it in a ponytail or a bun to keep it out of her eyes. She recently took to tying two small braids around her head like a crown, though. Her eyes are a bright blue. She always wears a dragon necklace, she even wears it to sleep. It looks like a dragon with its wings spread, talons and tail curved around a small blue orb. She walks around with her back straight in an attempt to hide her wings as well as she can. Her typical outfit is jeans or sweatpants and a plain shirt with her favorite black hoodie, baggy to hide her wings, and sneakers.
PERSONALITY
Ashlynn is kind to most people, but can snap at her friends when she gets annoyed. She can get annoyed when people point out the obvious, when people are mean to animals or other people and when people do stupid things. She is one of the smartest kids in her class, but she hates Science, it scares her since she was experimented on. She can do well with this subject, but she typically doesn't. She is super shy, she never speaks unless spoken to. If someone started a conversation with her, she would carefully angle herself towards the nearest exit and is very timid while speaking. She has a light voice, she often sounds like she is whispering. She can stutter sometimes, when nervous or pressured.
Her hobbies are reading, writing, drawing and flying. She loves to draw anything and everything she can, although she isn't very good at it. She loves making secret codes and adores breaking the ones her friends give her. She usually gets mad when her friends are annoying in her mind, or when they point out the obvious. She also gets mad when she sees animals being mistreated, including humans. She can get pretty annoyed when her pet peeves happen near her. When she talks, she often looks around, and sometimes moves her hands to demonstrate things that she just said. She has just a few pet peeves, when adults lie or make unfair choices, when books or living things are mistreated, and when people chew with their mouth open. When she gets mad or upset, she often goes on long flights or goes to read a book to make herself feel better.
WEAKNESSES
As a result of her testing, she can have intense headaches lasting anywhere from a minute to several hours. She can faint randomly, usually when she is stressed and/or scared. These were a result of a test to make her a better fighter, the same one that made her bones stronger. Another test affected her short term memory. She could be in the middle of figuring out some huge problem or writing some awesome story, and she forgets what she was doing. She can be having a conversation, and have to stop for several seconds to remember what she was saying. When someone is telling her to do something, she often has to come back at least once to ask again what she was supposed to be doing. Since she was kept in a small room for a few years, she has extreme claustrophobia. She can't stand to be trapped, anywhere. If she feels confined, she may have panic attacks or attempt to escape as fast as possible. She can't stand to stay in rooms without windows. She often feels like she is suffocating when she doesn't have a slight breeze on her face. Being underground plays at her claustrophobia, and she can't do it for very long. She broke her wing once, and since she couldn't exactly ask a doctor to splint it, she fixed it herself. Well, she tried. Now, whenever she flies she is slightly lopsided and has to fix herself every so often. Whenever she glides, her wing pulls her down slightly and she can end up rolling if she isn't careful. She can only speak with sparrows, she thinks that other birds can understand her, but she can't understand them. She also has trouble saying some words, because her voice box is altered so that she can speak with sparrows.
STRENGTHS
Ashlynn can fly, and she loves doing it. She could probably fly for 4 or so hours without stopping, and for a whole day with stops every hour or so to refuel. She can fly for long distances and fly very fast, but she gets really hungry and tired after longer flights. She learned to pick locks after finding a kit lying around, one of her best finds. She used it several times to break into rich people's houses while they were gone and stealing stuff. She had several trials and errors and eventually figured it out. She loves making things, especially making things to get out of problems. When she was on the streets, she broke her wing. She couldn't go to a doctor to splint it, and so she found an old shirt and a strong stick and splinted it. It wasn't the best, but it worked.
BACKGROUND
Ashlynn was a normal human girl until she got kidnapped at age six. She was walking home one evening from her friend's house next door when she was knocked out. She woke up to a laboratory, tied to a table. She had some sort of white hospital gown on, but one thing was familiar. She had a dragon necklace on, and it felt like it was special to her. She heard a big group of scientists talking about how it wouldn't come off, even with wire cutters. This necklace had been her grandmothers, although she didn't remember it. Her grandmother had been a witch, you could say. Her grandmother foresaw Ashlynn's future and enchanted a necklace with comforting energy. She had also made it so only Ashlynn could take it off, and gifted it to her just before she was abducted. The scientists took her to a small cell with no windows. It was around 6 feet in every direction, with a blanket and pillow on the floor. They injected her with something, and within 5 months she had wings. It was a very intense and painful process, but she lived through it. After she got her wings, scientists tested on her several times a day. After a few years, a scientist came and took her out of the cell, just like a normal test. However, the scientist took her to a closet and said: "Be quiet!" Before shutting the door. Ashlynn sat there for hours before the scientist came back and ran with her out of the facility. Ashlynn ran without looking back, so she didn't see the scientist being dragged back inside, nor did she hear the click of the dog's teeth as they ate the scientist whole. She lived on the streets for years, often escaping into the woods to hunt, fish gather edible plants, and collect water. She soon became an expert pickpocket, watching others pickpocket people, observing their techniques, comparing good things, and practicing a lot. She got caught a few times practicing, and several civilians told her to stop, yelled at her or made her give back everything she stole. This didn't deter her, and she finally stopped being caught. She only ever stole from the rich, the ones who were total jerks and had so much money they could afford to buy her a meal and some new clothes. She observed her targets for a few days, oftentimes flying above their car as they headed home, deciding how much they had and how much she could take. Living on the streets made her timid of everyone, and she finds escape routes everywhere she goes and sizes up everyone nearby in case she has to fight. She eventually built a small tree house, living there and just being thoroughly comfortable. This made her feel much more comfortable in wild places and around wild animals. It also made her timider in cities, believing she couldn't run, and that the buildings were going to fall in on her.
She rarely thought about her old life or the lab, but she often caught herself subconsciously rubbing the orb on her necklace. She sometimes wondered why she couldn't be normal, why did the scientists choose her? She loved having wings and flying, but she didn't even know her own name. She had chosen Ashlynn because it sounded better than Subject 1K8I6. She didn't know her birthday, so she had chosen July 29th because it sounded pretty. She assumed that she was 15 or 16 because someone once told her she looked to be that age.
Ashlynn had spent all of the money she had extra on a portable charger, a mp3 player, headphones, and music for it. Music was her life, her entire being. She needed music, it was calming for her. She can sing very well, even though she is much too scared to ever sing in public. She doesn't know why she loves music, maybe her parents had been musicians? On the streets, she perfected her hand to hand combat skills so if gangs mobbed her she could fight back. Occasionally she saw posters looking for her, or scientists she recognized wearing normal clothes, searching for her. She always laid low after seeing them and hid in the woods for a few weeks before coming back out.
Around her 14th birthday, Ashlynn felt this strong pull, urging her to follow it. She finally did and ended up at Foresta Academy.

Ashlynn stepped silently along the trail, putting as little weight as possible on the soft dirt, moist from a recent drizzle. She didn't want to disturb the peace and calm of the woods. She glanced to both sides, making sure the trail was wide enough before she unfurled her wings and leaped into the sky, skimming the treetops.
She came to a clearing just before a large gate and swooped down, walking towards it slowly. She took a deep calming breath. Resting her hand on the gate, she fought not to fly away as fast as possible. This is where she would be spending most of her next few years. She shook her wings out and petted them reassuringly. If something went wrong she could always just fly away! She laughed a bit at her worry before a small sparrow landed on her shoulder. "What's wrong?" It chirped into her ear. "Nothing. Just a bit nervous!" She replied, her resolve hardening. She rested her hand again on the gate and pulled.
