"I hate boats......I hate boats..... I hate boats...... boats are hellish pieces of poop."
If Alex had known that he would have had to have been on a boat he would have packed some medicine, but sadly he had been misinformed. As a consequence, as he rode to foresta he felt that each wave was a mountain and each slight breeze would knock the boat over. He imagined the waves that were around the boat would crash upon him and carry him out to sea, which would cause (as he thought) any sane person to have a uneasy stomach and a throbbing brain. Sadly, his uneasy stomach forced him to extricate his food through his esophagus and over the side of the ship. This hellish ride (at least in his mind) continued for hours on end until he saw the land in front of him.
"Thank the lords the land is here!"
Alex endured, just barely, the rest of the boat ride as it pulled into a place near the port. While Alex, who was still very seasick, didn't like the boat, he wasn't quite ready to get off yet so he stared at the Port area admiring the sight of the first land he had seen in a while. Alex breathed in after he had collected himself and stepped off of the boat and fell sideways
The combination of his seasickness and (for lack of a better term) sea legs, which is a common occurrence after being on a ship, caused him to lose balance. After he felt that he could get up, he slowly brought himself up and followed a sign that pointed to foresta. This sign lead him through a forest and to the front gates of the school.
"Yes, I'M HERE FINALLY"
Thats when Alex realized a crucial fact. He didn't know where anything was or how to get anywhere. Alex, not knowing what to do just stood there looking puzzled, hoping that he would see someone and they would get him acquainted with the school. Alex then saw a boy with odd pink and gold eyes, and as he called out the the person, Alex was ignored. Due to this, Alex didn't know what to do and eventually just sat down his bags and hoped someone would actually help him.

Foresta Academy had a courtyard, and courtyards had walls. Sitting against one of these walls was a rather plain looking vending machine. That vending machine housed many beverages and money collected from selling the previously mentioned beverages. Occasionally someone would stop by the machine and purchase a drink, and the students that had been lingering in the courtyard for a while occasionally shot it a wary glance. This was because a 7 1/2 feet tall robot, that appeared to be armed to the teeth with weaponry, had strolled in and transformed into that vending machine. And that robot/vending machine was starting to get self-conscious about the worried looks it was receiving.
"I knew I should have used the UniForm to travel while on school-grounds, my default mode looks way too intimidating," it whispered quietly to itself. It wished it could be working right now, seeing it mopping the halls would help get across the message that it isn't some lethal spy-bot waiting for the right moment to kill, but alas no one had thought it would be a good idea to tell the janitor robot its work-schedule. 'I'll just have to ask about that later when no one is busy, right now I should probably tell these peop-' it's trail of thought was interrupted when it noticed a boy, one sounded like he had just arrived at the academy due to his previous exclamation and the fact that he had bags of things, sit down on those bags. The machine was surprised no-one had greeted him by now, new arrivals usually drew quite some attention but this one seemed to either go unnoticed or was being purposefully ignored.
Always one to help those in need, the vending machine shifted into its towering mech form and began walking towards the boy, its heavy footsteps declaring its presence to all around. After a brief march it arrived next to the sitting fellow, and looked down at him with its expressionless visor-face-thing. "Excuse me, but you kind of look lost, are you in need of assistance?" it asked, hoping the boy wouldn't be too frightened its size and/or weaponry. Hopefully having the particle-beam-rifle attached to its back instead of in-hand would help to convey that it isn't here to blast him into super-death.

Alex stared and couldn't really comprehend what he just saw. A vending machine had just transformed into a large robot and had just interacted with him like it was normal. It wasn't, at least in Alex's eyes as he finally realized the implications of this school. This school was a place where people with special circumstances gathered and people with special abilities no doubt gathered here. As he finally comprehended his situation he viewed the robot's blurb, noting that it had a giant and dangerous looking.... "particle gun" (as listed by his ability) on its back. It took him a couple seconds to comprehend what that meant. Usually particle guns were relatively dangerous and deadly type weapons. Would this mean that she was prepared to kill him or anyone else at any moment? The fear of the particle gun forced him try and distract her from the possibility of attacking him with that horrifying thing on her back. "Yeah, I am a little confused and lost"
Alex glanced around after he had answered the vending robot, from his perspective the school was relatively expansive and impressive. That being said, it seemed too confusing to him in his eyes, probably because his brain was hard wired to memorize something before he could understand it. "Ummm..... can you guide me around, apparently i was put in the Pyxis Dorm so i would like to get there after i orient myself with the school."(ooc sorry for the short reply ;-

With disappointment the robot noticed that the boy seemed to be focused on the particle beam rifle with a wary expression. Apparently keeping the weapon out-of-hand was not enough to convey that it wasn't a threat, which told the AADD unit that it was time to go with plan-B. It held a hand up to its shoulder and opened up one of its mounted missile pods, which dropped a soda bottle out of one of the tubes into the robot's palm. It then closed the pod back up and held the bottle up to its visor, waiting for the bubbles inside to pop.
"Hey, no need to worry about the gun, I'm basically a pacifist. Besides, that thing thing is so old it doesn't function properly anymore, it's mainly a keepsake at this point. As for showing you around, I'd be happy to! Is there any part of the school you're specifically interested in seeing aside from your dorm, or would yah just like a general tour?" the bot asked excitedly, happy to have an opportunity to help someone in a way that didn't involve carbonated beverages.
Speaking of carbonated beverages the mech remembered that it was currently holding one, which it had intended to offer to the newly arrived student. It gave the bottle a quick glance to confirm that the bubbling and fizzing had stopped, which it had, and reached out to offer the drink to the boy. "Almost forgot about this, but would you like a soda? It's cola, but if you do not like the flavor I can swap it for another of your choice. Cola just seems to be the most popular according to personally gathered statistics." At that moment the bot remembered it had forgotten yet another thing, which caused it face-palm at its own forgetfulness. "My name's Alva by the way...can't believe I almost forgot introductions. What's yours?"

Alex took the brown frothy drink, popped the cap, and took a long swig. Apparently the Robot in front of him had noticed his discomfort with the particle gun and had offered a slightly suspicious explanation to placate him, though he personally that the gun was still functioning due to the status of [broken] did not appear next to the name. At least, he thought, the robot was unlikely to attack him with that large gun of death.
"can i just get a general tour? I am not to familiar with the Area."
Once Alex had realized that the robot was relatively harmless to him at the moment he relaxed. It felt good to him that the giant robot wasn't aiming to kill him. Generally he didn't like dying. Now that Alex was calm, he was really excited to tour the area, which would be his new home for the next 6 or so years (according to the sheet that he had received). Would the classes be fun? Enriching? Interesting? Would the people here be mean or nice? These type of questions started to race through his mind as he answered the robot.
"Hello Alva, My name is Alex. Thanks for offering to give me a tour!"
Alex was now really curious, why was this robot designed to look like a vending machine? It made sense to him in some cases if she was a janitor, but he wondered why someone would make a robot like her? This is when a new quest popped out into his view.
[NEW QUEST: ASK ALVA WHY SHE IS LIKE A VENDING MACHINE (exp: 3)]
As a result Alex asked:
"Why were you created to look and function like a vending machine?"

Alva was pleased that the boy accepted and drank the beverage, which hopefully meant he was no longer afraid of it. The boy then specified that he just wanted a general tour around the school, which was for the best since their were most likely certain parts of the building the robot itself had not yet seen. After a brief pause the boy seemed to calm down a bit and introduced himself, followed by him thanking Alva for the tour the robot had yet to provide.
"Nice to meet you Alex, and you are welcome," Alva replied as it began to mentally map out the best possible routes for the tour, but was caught completely off-guard when Alex asked why it could transform into a vending machine. It supposed it should be used to answering this question by now, but the robot was always cautious about mentioning it's original barbaric purpose. Sadly their didn't seem to be any way to sneak around the subject however, considering it looked like a walking arsenal, and the boy had been looking at the particle rifle almost as if he recognized it.
"I'm sure you guessed so by now, but I was originally designed as a war-bot, and the whole turning-into-a-vending-machine thing was originally just a functioning disguise, so that I could hide in plane sight. I never actually had to go into combat though, so I decided to take the whole vending-machine thing seriously. It's still not my favorite alternate-mode though," the machine said, chuckling to itself afterwords.

"Got it...... and logged it into the database"
Alex tapped his head and chuckled a little. He knew Alva hadn't told him everything and he felt as if he wanted to do the same back, that is, leave her in a slightly suspicious state. He had received confirmation for completing his quest and he was closer to leveling up from his current level of 1. He hoped that he would somehow get a new quest in order to fix his current situation, he wanted level up pretty badly. This type of greed that Alex harbored usually caused a generally morally compromising quest to appear, this time was not a exception as he saw the quest, or in this case quests, dialogues appear. His eyes widened and to other people it looked like he was staring out into space.
[NEW QUESTS: Condition: choose one]
[try and punch a hole through Alva and steal a second coke(exp:5) OR suggest that we start the tour (exp:2)]
Now Alex knew that it wouldn't be good to try and steal from a monster vending machine, the 5 experience points would put him in a extremely good position to level up twice. While he wanted to take the route of most efficiency, his moral compass stopped him. The robot in front of him seemed nice, why would he want to attack.... Her? So after a few seconds of deliberation he chose the path of morality. Alex finished off his drink and then spoke up a little shaken at the moral questions and implications that his ability could pose to him, though Alva wouldn't know about the last part.
"Can we go ahead on the tour?"
Alex smiled and picked up his bags and noticed he had leveled up, he would allocate his status points later though.
