Nami stared off into space for longer than a minute now, Iza noted from above her sketchbook. She was sitting on the steps leading to the stage where a giant piano stood, her twin sitting on the stool in front of the instrument, few sheets with notes scribbled-and by now, mostly crossed out- in front of her, a short pencil in younger sister's hand.
They decided-well, Nami did- that they won't get to know they new school by remaining in their room during the periods between classes and, as much as Iza hated to admit that, they needed to get to know people in their new surroundings- both to get Iza's wish of discovering their powers' secret come true, and just to make their life in the school easier.
At first, they wondered where to start; they decided that forcing themselves to look for friends would be a waste of time and, in the end, opted for a smaller step that was getting out of the safety of their doem room.
While they had a bigger chance of meeting other people in more used places like student's lounge or even the library, they both felt much more confident in a giant but for most part empty auditorium, Iza's antisocial attitude mixing with Nami's love for music and defeating social nature of the younger twin; Nami even joked that their inner Lyra got awakened. Well, while only Nami's artistic side could be performed there, Iza had no problems with bringing her sketchbook and sitting on the steps of the stage, paper on her knees, and soothing sounds of Nami's newest composition flowing from behind her back, interrupted only by the ocassional scratching of the pencil on the paper, correting this or that note- she liked drawing to the sounds of her sister's music, it always seemed to enhance her imagination. Only this pause right now lasted much longer than any other so far, and Iza wondered if her twin lost her composing streak she was on since they entered the room.
'Nami, everything's all right?' she asked silently, in case her sister was just listening to some inner voice for new masterpiece. Younger twin shook her head.
'I can't hear it anymore.' she whined softly. 'It just stops right where I finished writing it down and doesn't want to continue, even though I had it almost finished in my head previously.'
Iza sighed, so she was right. Nami just lost her muse.
'Maybe try playing everything from the beginning?' she suggested, puting her own pencil down and looking at her half consciously created drawing. Another landscape with the forest as a main theme. Hmm, interesting. She was sure she started the drawing with a meadow in mind...
'It's not ready just yet.' warned younger twin, putting her fingers on the keys of the instrument in front of her. 'I'll try the normal tempo, but I think I'll have to change it later.'
'Okay, okay.' Iza chuckled. While Nami was one of the most supportive fans to any promising compositor, she was also impossibly strict with her own works.
If Iza had to judge, it brought effects. In a form of a melody that seemed to be the musical picture of the magical forest, for example. Guess she knows now just where did her sketch came from..
Iza closed her eyes, letting the sounds fill her like they did with the giant room.
