Full Name: William (the Dragon)
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Dorm: Serpens
Powers: Ever since William has bathed in the blood of dragons, he has had many dragon related abilities. One is the most obvious one: Flame Manipulation. Flame Manipulation allows William to create and control flames. He can use these flames, along with his raw physical strength, to create devastating attacks, and he tries to make a new attack everyday. Because of this, he is also immune to flames. However, this doesn't apply to all flames of course. William is only immune to the type of flames he produces. For example, black flames or white flames can harm Will.
Another one of William's abilities is Absolute Defense. Although the name suggests it, this defense is far from perfected. William only uses this defense when he feels the enemy is overpowering him. He focuses all of his energy into his skin, which gives it extra defense. His skin becomes far tougher. One downside to this ability is that his speed is greatly decreased, leaving him open for any kind of attack. If you get enough hits on him in the right places, there's a good chance that you can beat him. This ability uses more energy than others, but he still has enough to hold a sustained fight.
The last of William's abilities is used only as a last resort. It is referred to as Rage of a Hundred Dragons. As the name implies, this ability relies on Will's rage. Once this ability is active, he undergoes a transformation. Large red scales grow on his arms. Wings emerge from his back, and his eyes turn blood red instead of their usual golden color. Will gains a massive boost in strength, and his speed increases tenfold. However, this ability comes with a price. Will loses almost all of his energy immediately after the transformation ends, and this could be troublesome in battles, because it could lead to unconsciousness.
Appearance: Because of the fact that he is half dragon, William's body was altered greatly so that it would be used to all the strenuous activities he goes through. Will is African American, so his skin is brown, but it has a slight red tint to it. However, the only skin you can see on his body is his head, his torso, and his fists. His eyes glow a golden color, and he barely has any hair on his head. Because of various wounds on his arms that don't seem to heal, Will wears golden bandages that wrap around his arms all the way from his wrists to his shoulders. The bandages protect his arms, for they are very fragile, so they glow like his eyes. He wears a large red jacket that reaches down to his knees; the sleeves are cut at the shoulders so that the bandages are exposed. On the back of this red coat is a white eye that signifies his.
The jacket has no zipper, so the front of Will's torso is exposed. Cutting across the rigid six pack is a long scar that reaches from the right side of his chest to the left side of his waist. The scar had been caused by an encounter he had gotten years ago with a group of bandits. He had no problem keeping it exposed. A necklace that holds a small dragon tooth hangs around his neck.
Will is 5'11" and, since the last time he checked, 196 lbs.
Personality: William tries to keep his cool at all times. Although he usually speaks very quietly, that doesn't mean he's antisocial. It takes a lot to get him excited, and because of this, he's made a lot of friends in the past. Usually, Will is a nice and friendly person. People that are extremely enthusiastic get on his nerves though, and he's not afraid to (politely) decline someone's offer for friendship. He tries to diffuse a situation before starting a fight. The only things that can really get William riled up are when you target his friends. He's extremely overprotective.
Certain things can get Will angry. One is when he's losing in a fight. However, anger in a fight can be a good thing, because it can be used to power his Rage of a Hundred Dragons ability. Another thing that get's Will angry is when he constantly fails at something he's trying to accomplish. This is an anger on a lesser level than the anger that fuels his Rage of a Hundred Dragons ability. Often times, went he can't finish something, he just gives up, but with motivation, you can get him to do it.
If William is uncomfortable, there are a few ways to tell. One is when he begins digging his fingers into his palm. This shows that he's expecting a fight to happen. Another way to tell is if he begins rubbing his eyes. This tells you that he's trying to read you and figure out if you're trustworthy. Not many things make Will uncomfortable. The few are when he feels a massive power coming from someone else, and when a situation gets extremely tense. As you'll find out later, Will has a kind of obsession with dragons. One way he helps himself to relax is by using something to make a cut in his arm - and then licking his blood.
Weaknesses: William has only a few weaknesses. One is the scar on his stomach. If it's struck hard enough, it could cause him some major pain, which makes it a mystery as to why he keeps it exposed. Another one of his weaknesses is fear. Will doesn't experience fear too often, and when he does, it has a major impact on him. Will's most essential weakness is his anger. If Will's anger got out of control, it could make him become reckless.
While this may not be considered a weakness, William has a max capacity in his power, much like everyone else. He knows when he reaches this max capacity because his powers will shut of temporarily if his energy levels are too high ("too high" means anything past the energy level of Rage of a Hundred Dragons). He has to calm down a bit before he can use his powers again. However, it is possible for him to break through this barrier, but if he greatly surpasses the maximum, it could destroy his body. The first sign of this is when he feels a burning sensation, and yes, even though he is immune to flames he does feel pain from this sensation. Next, various parts of his body experience more pain than he could ever have imagined was possible. He could stop this reaction by stopping fighting altogether, which could mean trouble in a life-threatening situation.
Strengths: William has many strengths, but there are a few main ones. One is his ability to fight. Now, that may not seem like a strength, but his parents taught him to fight in such a way that he could get out of any situation. He never learned any martial arts. Rather, his parents taught him their own special way of fighting, and it turned out to be very effective. Another one of Will's strengths is his strategy making skills. Will's ability to formulate his battle plan was uncanny. If he had time to to observe his opponent, he could plan out a strategy way before the battle even begins. The last of Will's essential strengths is his persuasiveness. The way Will slowly spoke and his extensive vocabulary made his words very persuasive, which has helped him in many life-threatening situations.
History: Ever since Will was a child, he had an interest in combat, and eventually, he persuaded his parents to train him. His parents were very powerful fighters, their abilities like no others. After a few years of training, William was strong, but no where near his parents' level. Soon, William began going on missions with his parents, and although he didn't have his powers yet, he slayed monsters with his weapons.
Despite their extreme power and rarity, William's parents killed many dragons, and William often accompanied them. Although he couldn't do anything to help, he loved watching his parents go head to head with these majestic beasts. However, he slowly began to develop a strange obsession, and it all began when a drop of dragon blood dripped from his father's hand and onto his head.
Ever since then, Will became obsessed with bathing in dragon blood. It was something he couldn't explain, and he didn't know how to break the news to his parents. He would often perform his acts in secret, scooping up pools of dragon blood after his parents killed them. A few weeks later, he realized that he would have to tell his parents sooner or later. Whenever he got home, they would accuse of having a strange scent on him,
Eventually, he couldn't take it anymore. He thought that his parents would think of him as a freak of he told them. So, he decided to run away from home. He planned out day and night how he would explain to his parents why he was running away on a single piece of paper. One night, he packed as much as he could and sneaked out of his bedroom window, leaving the note on his bed. He managed on his own for a while, but when he found out that he had dragon like powers by getting in a tussle with a group of thugs, he finally found confidence. He decided that it was time for him to actually go off on his own and stop feeling bad for what he had done, even though something deep inside told him otherwise.
He was so caught up in his own thoughts that he had forgotten what his own last name was. He even forgot what his parents' names were. But he wasn't worried about those things anymore. He was more concerned about training and traveling the world to become stronger. Everyday, he would go through rigorous training, which involved mile-long sprints, leaping through trees, and lifting anything heavy he could find. This barely helped, though, because being a dragon already provided him with a well-built physique.
On his journeys, Will visited many libraries, his sole purpose to learn more about the dragons that gave him his powers. He couldn't explain his desire to learn about dragons. Ever since he had gained his powers, he felt like he had some sort of connection to them, and in a way, he did. It wasn't a fascination. It was an obsession. He even stole a small dragon tooth that he found in a shop and didn't have enough money for. It hung around his necks at all times.
In character sample:
Will slowly trudged through the forest, taking in the scenery. The scent of pine cones filled his nose with delight, and he inhaled deeply. Sunlight seeped past the leaves, making irregular shadow patterns on the ground. "Now this is what I'm taking about!" he stated. "A place where I can just rest in peace, even if it's only for an hour." He slipped his backpack off of his shoulders and placed it against a tree, quickly sitting against the same tree. The bark on the tree scratched against my back, but he ignored it. He was just glad to be at peace, for once.
A few minutes later, his ears twitched. Multiple scratching sounds came from the distance. They were much too loud to be from any forest animals. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up. "Damn," he whispered. "If they're gonna come after me, do they have to be so loud?" He stood up, stretched, slipped on my backpack, and leaped into the trees.
