Full Name: Izana Mawari
Gender: Female
Age: 15(and 2minutes)
Dorm: Lyra
Power(s): She's your traditional elements controller, with the dominating one being Fire, and supporting Earth. As the older of the twins supposed to be normal, she was a target of abduction, however, her powers started developing in facility only after her younger twin started exhibiting hers naturally.
Fire control:As the name suggests, she's able to do all the things you usually associate with pyrokinetics, with igniting fire -provided there is oxygen to support it- taking control over and extinguishing naturally created fire. Flying fireballs and will-o-wisps can also be her doing, if she's somewhere close. Cold temperature and high moisture in the air puts her at a disadvantage as it makes her use up more energy to create or keep the fire burning, obviously.
Coal control: Considered her secondary element that activated once she started controlling the charcoal created with her primary element, ridiculous as it may sound. She's able to feel the natural coal underground and use it to sense and create earth vibrations of a small amplitude, however things got out of control more than once, so she just stick with the fire for now.
Appearance: The easiest way to describe her would be petite. Lean, rather short (reaching 160 cm-5 feet and about 3 inches), with big, purplish-blue eyes (effects of countless experiments), oval face, small round ears and long, straight, light blond hair, she's typical material for lolita (she'd kill you if you said so, though).
She tends to unconsciously wear cute, darkish, but not completely black, frilly, long-sleeved dresses (her sister "subtle" influence) and is able to freely and still gracefully move in multi-layered clothes; she's right-handed, although she has more control over her left than most other people due to years of experience in swapping places with her left-handed sister.
When stressed out, she unconsciously reach out and play with her fringe, usually moving it from her eyes or behind her ear. This isn't a coincidence, as just in front of her right ear, under loose hair strand, there is a small, almost invisible scar, the only thing that differs Iza's face from Nami's.She's really self-conscious of it.
Personality: Don't call her by her full name. Just don't. Making long story short, it's her berserker button.
Unless she doesn't pretend to be Nami, she's both less friendly and more short-tempered of the twins, with an overprotective older sister vibe kicking in more often than not. The only person able to aproach her without fear on any day is Nami, and most people try to meet them simultaneously, to have a younger twin's protection, just in case.
Despite her distrust for others, she loves, playing tricks on people, both newly met and already known, and have full support of her twin in that aspect.
While she's less musical than Nami, she still can sing a song or two from her memory, more when using a score sheet, and play easy accompaniaments on the piano. She still prefers sketching wth the coal, most preferably landscapes.Despite her artistic side, she's also very practical, probably more practical than Nami, and, when it gets to trying out new things unrelated to new people, more curious than hesitant Nami.
Once she starts to trust you, she can be caring, protective, friendly, cheerful and loving. The last two, though, we can only rely on Nami's word, as even Iza's temporary parents that retook her after the facility incident, describe her as polite, well-mannered, but rather distant from anyone not being her twin.
And even when you befriend her, DON'T CALL HER WITH HER FULL NAME.
Picture:
Iza is the one on the left side of the pic, in darker dress.
Weaknesses: She's deadly scared of plain white rooms (aftereffect of a forced stay in the facility) to the point of freezing with fear after being met with/pushed into/forced to stay in said rooms, dislike water in any form (with Nami's power and hot baths being an exception), and is scared of needles.
When separated from Nami she's anxious (another aftereffect) and has problems with thinking of the tactics or plans on the spot. Well, actually, when separated from Nami, she has problems with just clear thinking about anything.
While she won't admit it on her deathbed, she also loves hot chocolate and other "hot" sweets (in which heat is required to prepare them, not necessarily for serving), and this is the way to put her in a really good mood, considerably calming her temper and will to battle.
Strengths: She can cook hot sweets aforementioned in the weakness section^^. Aside of that, she has high control of her dominant element (with the exception of the times when pushed into white room, or separated from Nami-though the latter is discussable, as she just burn everything that gets into her way of reuniting with her twin and once they meet, she's in full control again) and inexplanable connection with Nami, letting them cooperate (switch places, most of the time) without verbal or signal communication. She's also quick in making decisions and performing them.
History & Family:
Due to her parents' carelessness, at the age of three she was abducted and held in the magic research facility for over two years, separating her completely from her twin, which resulted with a long-lasting anxiety-attacks that also made her lose control over her developing powers, at least until she wasn't rejoined with Nami in a temporary family (their parents being stripped from parenting rights), causing her to develop a strong bond with her twin. She has two priorities in her life as of now: protecting Nami from what she went through, and finding out just why their powers, although discovered separately, developed at the same time into mirror reflections. It is secondary to her need to be with her twin, though, and that's why, despite having the potential to be Pyxis, she landed with Lyra.
Aside of the biological parents with whom she has no contact whatsoever, (rumors being that after younger twin started deveoping her powers, they got scared of their child's potential and finally forced the decision of putting her in a temporary family on the judge) she has adoptive ones, an elderly couple that took Nami and then, once she has been found, also Iza, making them twins'parental figures and lawful guardians. The pair took care of the girls and. with the support of money generated by the man's factory, kept them safe from another ambush, while simultaneously raising them like their own daughters.
It was the couple's idea to send sisters to Foresta in hopes of letting them become more socialised in a safe environment, because, while they kept all their needs satisfied, they couldn't afford letting the twins to board a normal school, having them tutored at home instead.
In hopes of helping Iza with anxiety attacks, the couple bought the twins an auburn kitten, that now is a grown up cat, called Picollo, Pico for short. Twins left him at home when going to Foresta to keep company to their parents.
In Character sample:
White. So much white, so clean, and distant, and bright. And painful.
She hated white.
The pain it brought, the sense of loneliness, of not being whole; not being herself, even though she was there, in that room, all by herself. Maybe that was why she didn't feel fine, the reason of pain and emptiness in her chest, the emptiness that she tried to warm up with fire; the reason of the silence she tried to shut out with the crackling of the flames, so weakly replacing the voice she should be hearing, calling her name:
"Íza, Iza, Iza..."
Only that didn't sound like the artificial flames she usually created around herself.
'Iza! Wake up! C'mon, sis, it's just a dream!'
Iza opened her eyes, causing her to look into almost identical set of slightly lighter orbs.
'Good, you woke up.' her twin smiled at her gently.'I guess it was one of the usual nightmares.'
'Yeah, though I have no idea why now, or here, of all places.' answered Iza with only soft quaver in her voice. 'We're in a train, going to a new school. I don't see a reason why I had it.'
'Maybe because we're on a train, going to a new school.' answered Nami, chuckling softly, then reminding her sister. 'You were anxious about it even before we agreed to the idea.'
'I still am anxious, you know.' Iza answered, rubbing her eyes. The ride was long and tiringb and the seats in their department were soft, not to mention, they were the only two passengers in almost whole wagon. Not a surprise that she fell asleep, really. More surprising was that Nami's presence did nothing to stop the nightmare from appearing.
Her twin, as if noticing her wonder, explained, a tone of whining in her voice.
'I just went to the toilet!'
Iza smiled, that would explain it, partially. Still, she decided to keep a watchful eye on their surroundings upon arriving to the academy; she didn't want Nami to have the same kind of dreams she had almost all her life.
Just then, a train came to a stop and an elderly looking conductor opened doors to their department, making Iza sit up and both twins looked at him cautiously.
'We came to a last station, m'ladies. It's as close as we can get you to Foresta.' he said with a smile.
'We noticed.' dryly answered Iza, but Nami smiled sweetly and thanked the man, prompting him to inform them to take only their personal bags, as other luggage will be delivered to the school separately. Before Iza was able to doubt the man's words, Nami again thanked him, making conductor leave.
'Ýou don't have to be this nice to people.' Iza grumbled as she helped younger twin to take their personal bags down
from the shelf above their heads. Nami smiled at her, before answering.
'I have to, in order to counter your grumpiness, I-za-na~'
Iza sighed as her will-o-wisp flew past the place her twin's mouth was mere moments ago; it was no use, Nami knew her too well. Besides, Iza would never purposefully harm her twin.
'Sorry, sis, but you needed a release.' Nami stood up from her kneeling position and dusted front of her dress off. Then, she held a coat out for Iza. 'We should put them on before getting off the train, it seems it's freezng outside.'
'Yeah.' Iza accepted the long cape and put it on, helping her still struggling twin afterwards. 'You should've trained putting that on before we set off, you know?'
'Not if we remain together-then I can have you doing it for me.' answered Nami, making Iza chuckle faintly at the innocent naivety of her sister.
'Okay, let's get going. We probably need to get through the forest to reach the school first, right?' Iza asked, and Nami nodded, before opening the door of their department and starting her trip towards exit, Iza close behind her.
New or old life, she'd protect her little sister.
As the picture I used doesn't belong to me, I'm linking to the site of the original artist here due to not getting a refusal on my ask for using it for a RP character.
