Full Name: Mikhail "Misha, Mishka" Alkaev
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Powers: Mikhail has the power of Creation. He can create differently sized, tangible things with his mind, so long as he focuses very hard. The power drains him, and he can only use it for short periods of time. The application of this is especially apparent in fights, where he is able to call together energy to create a champion. The more time he spends at it, the more powerful his creations become. These things are obviously distinguishable from "real" things--there is always something marked about them. For example, Mikhail could create a "rose" with minimal comparative effort, but it might have a blue stem, or be too tall, or simply look wrong. Creations are unmistakeable.
Anything he creates can only exist as long as he keeps it there, a huge mental effort. He can call multiple destructive Creations in a row, but he has never attempted this in the past. Creating leaves him weak and fatigued, so he avoids calling them quickly. He recovers more quickly from small (sized) Creations; it would take him about fifteen minutes to be back from the "rose". However, with anything animated (small animals, homonculi), it takes about six hours.
While his Creations can do physical damage to people and animals, they cannot deliver fatal wounds, or even wounds that would become fatal over time. They can weaken enemies to the point where they are near helpless, in rare circumstances. Hurting people causes Mikhail fatigue, at this point in his power, but he has been gaining more and more control.
Appearance: Mikhail is, by all means, a very attractive boy. According to him, he couldn't be anything else--his genetics were good, luck of the draw. His lean, muscular body speaks of someone who takes care of himself, physically at least. Standing at about 5'8", his strong shoulders work into a well-built torso. His nut-brown hair falls in curly ringlets around his ears, framing his forehead and contrasting well with his sea-green eyes, much like his father and elder sister. His cheekbones are prominent and beautiful over a perfect jaw and a cruel mouth. It's not that he looks mean, it's that he looks like he means business.
Mikhail displays a great degree of control over his body. He stands perfectly straight and his jaw is always tightly shut. He dresses himself well, a consciousness of his appearance that came from growing up with beautiful sisters who cared about that sort of thing. That said, he's well aware that he ought to dress to flatter his beautiful collarbones. About half the time, his collar is low enough that a strange birthmark is visible: it looks like a badly-drawn tattoo of a star and a serpent. He doesn't really care whether it's visible, so he doesn't cover it up for the sake of covering it up. He usually dresses pretty fashionably, but even if he's in jeans and a t-shirt, he still looks more put-together than an ordinary sixteen-year-old boy.
Personality: Mikhail is stern and withdrawn in manner, but he is fairly vocal, as he's done most of the talking for his twin sister since they were little. The art of conversation amazes him and draws him. He especially likes to converse with people who have different worldviews from his family. While he may not have been such an outcast in his country, even to the point of having more friends than his twin sister, his exceptional intelligence and singular family situation make him feel as though he doesn't belong. That standing, he reads and thinks and talks about foreign cultures extensively. He's very uncertain of religion, and is never quite sure what he believes. He is more apt to think than to believe.
Misha speaks beautifully, due to the fact that he has already thought about almost anything that might come up in conversation. He believes that someday he will be remembered as one of the great thinkers of his time, taking an attitude which sometimes borders on arrogance. He has quite an affinity with people, and is always more eager to interact than his situation allows. Misha is more prone to discussions than arguments. He will offer his opinions, sometimes even when they are not asked, but is not usually defensive or contrary unless something is wrong.
Misha has been known to be very moody. He has episodes in which he second-guesses everything, a dangerous counter-measure to his arrogance. He changes his opinions frequently, but he has difficulty believing anything for very long. He can be something of a defeatist, and it is difficult to lift him out of these spells.
Weaknesses: Mikail is a little bit arrogant and a little bit vane, so while he may be charming until you fight with him, he is a difficult person to forgive. He sometimes can't see things that are right under his nose because he is too proud. He's also been known to brush people off unknowingly, sometimes creating dangerous enemies.
Mikhail's greatest weakness is probably his affinity for giving up. When he's uncertain, he'd rather stop than be wrong. While his twin is supporting him, her stubbornness will usually drive him through, but this causes him to be dependant as well.
Strengths: Mikhail is the best person to stand up for someone who needs him. He takes up other people's causes easily and passionately, and he is a pretty fair person. Also, he tries new things more easily than other people, because he feels he can always turn back later, meaning he can come up with creative solutions to most problems.
Misha never breaks promises, under any circumstances. He knows it's silly and idealistic, but when he says he'll do something, he'll do it, no matter what.
History: Mishka and Annushka always had each other. That said, there were things that exasperated him about his sister, even before his mother died, to the point where he thought maybe he belonged in a different family. His father and Annuska were too silly, his mother was too kind, and though he wouldn't admit it, his older sister Ekaterina was a little overzealous about everything. He knew one thing about Annushka, though: she was his sister, and so Mamochka was probably his mother, and Papochka was probably his father, and they were probably his family. However, accepting that it's your family is a different thing from wanting to be surrounded by more crazy people, so he didn't want a brother.
And he was right not to want a brother, after all! It was flu season, and somehow, miraculously, his mother didn't get sick. It was amazing. Four months in to the pregnancy, he was beginning to thing maybe he could tolerate this child, if it kept his mother magically healthy... But something worse happened. Suddenly, his mother's health deteriorated. Ekaterina had no time to play with him any more, she was caught up at their mother's bedside. He began to think maybe it was better when his father was too silly, better than this. Anything was better than this, this hell where his big sister wouldn't play with him and his twin was praying all the time and their father tried to
Mikhail realised that day how bad things really were, and he realised they'd never get better. If his father could raise a hand to his favourite daughter, to Misha's twin sister, to the most perfect little doll on the planet, his father was insane. Grief existed in the world! People had suffered this man and there was never a reason that anyone would be allowed to hit his sister, never. Misha realised that things were never good, and he realised that there were no rules saying they should be. He realised that maybe it was better to be bad, if good involved listening to a man who tried to hit his sister.
When his mother suffered a miscarriage, seven months pregnant, it was killed her and broke the family. Ekaterina tried to tell her little brother about what happened, the way she always did, but now what she said didn't make sense. She talked about God and goodness and where there mother was now... But Misha knew where she was; she was in the ground. And then he knew that now it would have to be he who told his older sister what was happening. His father tried to smile and hold the twins in his lap, but his smile didn't reach his eyes. Misha knew he couldn't really smile any more. But the strangest change came with the twins, and it came with their powers. And Misha knew that he would change again, and again.
