Despite the fact that it was practically in the middle of summer, Constantine had finally taken it upon himself to get out the school for once and move around in the sun. The sun part was shortly lived though as he stepped out into the court yard and slipped some headphones onto to listen to some music that he had downloaded onto his phone. Only minutes after he had walked outside, the sky started to darken with the foreshadowing of rain. By the time that Constantine had managed to find his way over to the rose garden, the young man did not find it strange that he had barely passed any people on the way. Since he had spent so much time secluding himself from people in the first place, it was strange getting used to the idea of people still being around.
With the volume turned on max as he maneuvered his way through small maze in the rose garden, the sound of thunder that echoed all around him escaped his ears for the time being. The young man in question was to focused on his inner musings to be bothered with the weather. It was only really when he found himself a stone bench to lay out on that Constantine started to realize how dark it had gotten compared to when he had walked outside in the first place. Even though it had been quite a few months now, a funeral still hadn't been held for his brother despite the fact that their mother was already aware of Dion's death now. As time went on it was getting easier to continue moving, but there were still times that Constantine still couldn't quite figure out how to deal.
To make matters worse, he hadn't bothered to seek out any help yet and there was no one that came to him to see if he wanted to talk about anything or figure out his own feelings. The young man was left alone to brood most of the time and it didn't even help that he couldn't figure out how to help his younger sister either. Bringing a hand up to his scarred face, Constantine with an absent-minded expression traced the raised parts of his skin with his finger tips. He was in his own world all the way up until he started to feel the first few drops of rain on his hand.

The girl-in-bird-form shot through the sky like a bullet from a gun, wings tucked at her side to decrease air resistance. Or whatever it was called. Even if she was a good student and had paid attention to physics classes, it didn't make her memory any better. A few weeks ago, when she'd been in the Rose Garden talking with Felicity--who she hadn't seen and wasn't particularly hoping to see again--she seemed to have lost a pair of earbuds. Of course, she had other pairs, which was why she hadn't noticed the missing one, but while organizing her belongings, she'd discovered that she was missing a pair. And, quite simply, that was why she was returning to the garden.
Lisette landed on the ground where she thought she had left from last time. It was entirely possible she'd lost the pair on the way to that spot, but it was a good starting point. She thought she recognized the bench. Methodically searching each wall with her sharp falcon eyes, it wasn't long before she caught a glimpse of white that didn't belong there. Sure enough, it was her earbuds. Her sharp ears also caught the sound of footsteps around a few bends.
Her bones began to lengthen back into the lengths of human bones, and her feathers receded into her skin. Soon she had returned to human form, clothed in the clothes she'd originally been wearing. Carefully untangling the wires from the branches, the accessory was quickly extricated from its trap. It was then stuffed back into her right pocket, where it usually resided. She suspected they'd been lost upon her shifting; objects from her pockets often fell out during the process. It was a bit of a hassle at times, but she supposed the only way to change that was not to keep things in her pocket.
Remembering the footsteps she'd picked up earlier, her curiosity got the best of her, and she headed in the direction she thought the sound had come from. A soft wind tossed the dark strands of her hair into her face. Annoyed, she brushed it back carelessly with her fingers. Her blue eyes lifted to the sky, wondering at the sudden change in weather. The previously blue stretch was clouding over with gray storm clouds that matched the gray tint to her irises.
Continuing on her search, she soon discovered Constantine's figure lying on a bench as the first drops of rain began to splash down around and on her. He had headphones on, so she didn't know if he'd even hear her, but she still said, "Constantine?"

The sensation of rain caused the young man to sit up with a jolt, his headphones slipping away from his skull just time for Constantine to notice Lisette's presence. "Yes?" He asked the girl simply at first, but then got a pained expression as the rain started to pick up. "Sorry, can't chat right now." Constantine quickly picked his headphones up then, looking around the area to find something that he could protect himself from the rain. The thought of getting caught in the middle of it scared him to no end. Finally noticing a hole in one of the hedges nearby, Constantine started to bend over realizing that he'd have to move his clothes into the hole with him as well if he wanted to shift.
It was then that the young man looked back at Lisette with an almost helpless expression, he couldn't quite explain it ... but surely she would understand? There had to be someone at some point that understood this. Turning away from the hole as the rain started to pick up some more, Constantine looked around the area with his good eye in an attempt to find some place to hide from the rain. If he didn't find anything now, something worse would happen... it would rain on him. The idea of being wet gave him the chills. After all since he had gotten more in tune with his power, he had also managed to pick up some very feline habits. "I need to get away from this rain." He finally said to the girl with a somewhat strained voice.

Lisette watched inquisitively with a bird-like tilt of her head as the boy moved to get out of the rain. The drops were coming down faster and faster with every passing moment until they were standing in the midst of a drizzle. Although she used to get annoyed at the constant rain in London sometimes, it was nice. It reminded her of home, and the smell of fresh rain was as familiar as American accents were unfamiliar. She turned her face to the sky, watching the rain come down, a few drops out of the innumerable ones chasing their friends to the ground splashing onto her skin. When a raindrop landed straight in her eye, she jolted and blinked rapidly, turning back to Constantine.
In a pained voice, he told her that he needed to get out of the rain. Why.... Oh. It must have had something to do with his powers. One was bound to pick up some animalistic traits if one spent time in another animal's brain. She often caught herself concentrating on a noise as intently as a wolf, with an image of her ears pricked in her mind. There were also times she stood like a horse, with only the toe of one foot touching the ground. "Oh... Um." She didn't really have a quick solution for him, as she herself had not developed an aversion to rain. (That would have been extremely inconvenient, considering the climate of London.) If she had, though, and it was extreme, her power probably would have taken over and turned her into something small that could hide away, like a mouse or something of that sort.
"The rain won't hurt you," she offered lamely. "But if it bothers you that much, we can go inside. Do you know the way out?" If he didn't, she did have a way to get out of the maze, but it wasn't exactly favorable. Having flown exactly once in the rain, and having found it to not be very pleasant, it was an experience she preferred not to have to repeat. Lisette was sure actual peregrines were fine with rain, but she hadn't been born a bird, and obviously didn't have the skill and finesse of birds.

At Lisette's attempt at comforting him, Constantine glanced back to one of the holes in the ledges that he had been looking at before. "I'm not sure, I wasn't really paying attention when I walked in here." As the rain started up then, Constantine finally figured out something he would try to get away from the on coming storm. Getting down on his hands and knees once more, the young man started to squeeze himself under the stone bench that he had originally been laying on. It proved successful all the way up to the point that the sleeves of his jacket were starting to get wet.
Constantine let out small curse before moving out from under the bench and taking his jacket off, holding the already partially wet piece of cloth over his head. It was hard for him also to focus on the fact that Lisette was nearby thanks to the rain and if it hadn't been for the fear of leaving his clothes behind, Constantine might have shifted into his cat form and just slinked through hedges until the storm had given up. Alas his vanity would get the better of him compared to his fear of the rain.

She took his answer silently, but with a grain of salt. Well, that left it up to her. Unfortunately. Lisette watched his attempts to get away from the rain. It was obvious he was desperate to get inside, if he had to try and hide in the hedges and under a bench. With his height, she was quite sure he wasn't going to fit under there, and he was only going to get his clothing wet if he tried to do so. When he emerged after the unsuccessful attempt, she was proven right. His jacket sleeves were sopping wet. However, Constantine's next plan of action proved that there was indeed a silver lining to every cloud. He now had a makeshift umbrella, even if it would soak up all the water and eventually get very heavy and ineffective.
Sighing, the girl spoke up. "Stay here for a moment." She continued deeper into the maze until he was out of sight. Shifting forms was not always a smooth transformation and she got a bit self-conscious doing it around other people. For the second time that day, her bones began to shorten and hollow out, feathers began to sprout, and her arms became wings. Flapping a few times, she gained enough altitude to see the entire maze, including dead ends and the way to the exit. She estimated that it would be easier to return to the entrance, rather than find their way through the hedges. The bird spread its wings and winged its way back to where the boy was standing. With a screeching noise, she pointed him in the right direction, then flew to the next fork in the road to wait for him there.
