A neatly folded piece of paper is slipped neatly beneath Esha's door. Inside, it has somewhat shaky yet perfectly legible, ink handwriting that reads:
Esha,
In case you haven't already realized this, I've been purposefully avoiding you in case you don't want to find yourself in a close proximity of me. This is understandable, given our last encounter. It's somewhat hazy in my mind, and though I can't remember exactly what happened, I think I got a general idea of what transpired based off of what the staff members said to me when I regained consciousness in the nurse's office for the second time. And, upon returning to my room, I pieced together the rest of the story. I truly apologize for this, and though it might seem incredibly hard to believe, I, personally, had no intentions of ever romantically engaging you in anything. My mind is not entirely my own, as I'm sure you've noticed, and I suppose that the tense circumstances I was tossed into lowered my guard enough to give the beast free reign of my body. I'm sure that I wouldn't want to associate myself with someone who physically assaulted me either, but I hope this letter can convey the fact that I didn't mean to do anything like that.
Again, when in a bestial state of mind or body, my memory always seems to fail me, but I do recall shard-like protrusions having come from your body. Needless to say, that was most likely the element that saved your life, and if you're sensitive about the subject of your intriguing power, I won't speak of it. However, I did want to address what had occurred before the chaos began. I've never been able to vent as I had to you, and it'd been far too long since I felt positive, physical contact like you had offered. From the bottom of whatever shreds of my heart are present, thank you. I often have difficulty expressing how I truly feel around others in fear of awakening the monster, but for a few, fleeting moments, I was capable of that through our brief conversation. Your words inspired me to try and focus on the few positives and myself, rather than the creature inside of me, and I really hadn't thought of it that way before. And, you were the only person in a very long time to have actually remained with me, undaunted, despite knowing my abilities, so I thank you for that as well. If you're interested in setting up a restraining order or something of the sort, I won't be offended and I'd be willing to oblige to whatever you need. In the very least, if you'd either like to confront me physically or correspond through writing, feel free to do so. Until then, I will actively keep my distance from you, and if any damage came to you or your possessions, send me a bill and I'll pay for the reparations. Again, thanks for all it was worth.
Sincerely,
Chase Thorne
