It had been a week since the mysterious blonde vampire and had bitten him and turned him into a predator of the night. To say the least Nathan wasn't dealing with it too well. After he had left Martina's office, the fresh vampire had made his way back to his home only to destroy almost everything in it. After living for a year on the island, he couldn't believe that he hadn't even bothered to research mythical creatures. After all, he was one now and Nathan couldn't even figure out what was going on with him. The worst of it came during the night when the now immortal didn't need to sleep. He would lay in his bed, stiff as a corpse and nothing would happen when he would close his eyes. It made him feel like he was going insane and Nathan felt another part of him that he never knew taking control. Had he always been so rude? Obviously not, now it seemed like it didn't even matter.
Another thing Nathan had noticed was that women found him a lot more attractive than they had before when he had been human. The second he opened his mouth it was like he was catching everyone's attention which was something the man was obviously not used too. He had never considered himself a terribly unattractive man when he was a human, but this? This seemed almost ridiculous. Thanks to the strangeness of his new found traits though, Nathan had next to zero trouble sneaking past quite a few nurses into restricted areas where they held blood.
In truth, he had wanted to go out and take fresh blood. The idea seemed exciting, but Nathan had no idea where to start much less how to do it. There was something in the back of his mind that held him back from leaping at people and he couldn't recognize it yet. Was it his humanity? Surely he lost that already. Everything was such a rush for Nathan that the vampire found himself doing everything he could to distract himself from thinking about what he was now. It was almost like he hadn't accepted it yet.
Reaching a large fridge that held quite a few packets of blood, Nathan reached into and grabbed as much as he could hold - moving it so that he could easily hide the packets beneath his jacket if confronted. Walking toward the door to leave, Nathan stopped in his tracks as he almost ran into one of the nurses. Immediately the older looking woman was suspicious, "What are you doing here?" Nathan looked surprised for a moment before responding. "I'm so sorry, ma'am. I believe I'm lost, I was trying to find my way to the exit and the next thing I know I'm this - what is this place?" Nathan then asked the nurse with an innocent sort of curiosity. For any person who wasn't a complete idiot, it would be all too obvious that Nathan was playing the woman. "It's none of your business now I'll help you out." With those words the nurse grabbed Nathan by the shoulder and the man obligingly allowed her to lead.
It was all the way up until they got near the entrance of the hospital that Nathan finally moved away from her, "Thank you so much. I think I can take it from here." The nurse looked grumpy for a moment, but then nodded and walked away from Nathan. As he turned away a grotesque sort of expression spread across his face, as a human he would have had no problem even being touched by the older woman - but just the smell of her had made him want to retch the whole time she had been in his presence. It was difficult for him to constantly adjust to changing smells and heartbeats around him, along with the sudden clarity in his vision. He felt like he was seeing everything for the first time and Nathan wasn't completely sure if he was okay with that.

Kestrel was having another one-sided conversation as she entered the hospital. Her hair was a mess from the sudden downpour she'd run through. She walked through the doors, saying angrily, "This is pointless, I'd know if I had a concussion. All your doing is wasting our time." She paused, as though listening. Then she laughed and exclaimed, "You're going soft!"
Her tennis shoes squeaked noisily on the sterile linoleum of the floor, her laces on her right shoe rapidly coming undone and adding a light clicking to the background noise. Her long, lean profile was clad in runner's gear, now soaked through because of the rain. Teal jacket and black leggings comprised most of what people could see.
She went up to the main desk and said awkwardly, "I'm here to follow up on some stuff I came in a few weeks ago for. Uh, last name Harris. I had burns... and, yeah, a concussion." The woman sitting behind the desk handed over a clipboard and Kestrel sighed heavily. "Lovely," she muttered, then turned to go have a seat somewhere to fill out the information.
Kestrel spotted a familiar face, but Andy immediately quelled her impulse to go catch up and make sure he was alright by reminding her that he'd bitten her last time they encountered each other. Her wrist itched, the scabs still present. She waved hesitantly, just in case he'd noticed her too, but her smile was uncomfortable and she turned away quickly. "Shut up," she muttered angrily. "What was I supposed to do, ignore him?"

Nathan was making his way closer to the opening doors of the hospital when a sudden noise caught his attention and caused the male to stop. Turning his attention toward Kestrel, the vampire caught her uncomfortable smile and started to move toward her. Soon enough he was taking a seat right next to the woman leaning over to see what forms she was filling out. "Kestrel, right? I've been thinking about you." Nathan started off, catching a glimpse of the wound that he had left on her body from their interaction before. Thanks to that, a hint of red could be seen outlining the green color in his eyes making Nathan lean away from the woman to take her whole appearance in. It seemed as though the blood he was hiding underneath his coat didn't cause him any discomfort now that his attentions were focused on Kestrel.
"Are you here because of that wound that I gave you? Or is it because of something else? I'm sorry if I scared you, it seems as if I'm a vampire now." The way that Nathan spoke made it seem as if he was just talking about the weather, as if it was no big deal that he could be considered among the undead as well as immortal. "Besides that though, would you like to have dinner with me sometime?" The man moved quick now, the social anxiety he had before seeming like a thing of the past.

Kestrel leaned away from Nathan even as he leaned in- Andy was getting extremely agitated by this turn of events, but he'd switched to a different thought pattern and she had no idea how to translate. "I've been worried about you too," she said, banishing Andy to the back of her mind until he could come up with something constructive to contribute. She was tuned in enough to color to notice the change in Nathan's eyes, a change she might have found rather alarming before her association with the demon parasite.
Kestrel's eyebrows slowly rose as she listened to Nathan talk. Compared to how things had been with her and Andy when she'd first been infected, this was pretty damn sanguine. She was silent for a couple minutes, when she waved one of her hands dismissively, "Oh no, I'm only here because Andy wanted me to get reevaluated for the concussion I received a while ago." She rubbed the dots on her wrist uncomfortably, adding, "This old thing just reminds me to be a little more- well, that's neither here nor there. So... you're a vampire now. How did that come about?" As for his last question, she acknowledged it with another question, "What would that entail, exactly? Last time we met, you had dinner, and I remember that being a little unpleasant."
He was, in fact, attractive and charming by most standards, but Kestrel knew better than to be led on by a handsome face and a straightforward manner. Andy himself had been able to charm people and she knew exactly how dangerous he was. She turned back to the forms on her lap, quickly filling in a couple more blanks. Then she pulled the clipboard up to her chest, not really wanting Nathan to see the rest of this bureaucratic nonsense.

Nathan smiled at Kestrel as she voiced her concern about him, his fangs seeming just a bit obvious now. "Andy is that demon that shares your body with you then?" Nathan asked the woman almost as if for confirmation. Was that why her blood had tasted so good to him? Or was it that it should have tasted worse with her sharing a body with a demon? Nathan looked briefly confused for a moment before finally hearing what Kestrel was saying about a concussion. For some reason it worried him, after all food tasted better when it was in perfect condition. "You were there for it," Nathan then said to the woman, briefly recalling the extreme amount of pain he went through that night. It was a memory he preferred to not relive and instead Nathan smiled at the woman once more as she mentioned the blood that he had gotten from her.
"It won't be like that, I swear it." The way that Nathan spoke it seemed as if his true voice was finally noticeable, a deep timbre that could almost be considered hypnotic. "Again, I'm sorry that you have such a wound. I didn't know what was going on with me then." he explained to the woman in such a way that some would think that he had a silver tongue. "I'll take you to dinner and make it up to you." Nathan wasn't too sure why he was so intent on spending more time with the woman. It could be a combination of how her blood tasted, but he was also finding that he enjoyed the angles of her face. He was curious about her, he knew that much and in his mind if the woman trusted him then he could taste her blood once more.

Kestrel offered a weak smile when he hit on her mentioning of Andy. "Considering our... arrangement, he does sometimes look out for my best interests. Sometimes." She frowned at his response. "I may have caught the tail end of your transformation. Unless spontaneous human-vampire mutation is possible, I assume there was some kind catalyst... right?"
She flipped a page and tried to occupy her mind with the documents on her lap, but was sidetracked by the weird undertones in his voice. She turned slowly to look at him, leaning imperceptibly towards him. In a soft voice, she replied, "It's okay. I've had worse injuries just working at the school. I would love to go to dinner with you."
A second later, she was on her feet and her eyes had turned a bright yellow instead of their usual gray-green. "That's enough of that! I'll thank you to keep those tricks to yourself or suffer the consequences! Stay away from Kestrel! Of all of the mortals on this island, she's the one I can guarantee is off-limits!"
Andy flung the clipboard at Nathan and started moving Kestrel's body towards the entrance.

Nathan stayed silent as Kestrel asked about what had causing his turning in the first place, it seemed as though that was a topic that the fresh vampire was sensitive about. At her sudden willingness to spend more time with her, he couldn't help but smile - all the way until Andy showed his face. As the clipboard was flung at him, Nathan moved one of his hands up to catch it - only to have one of the blood packets that he had stolen from the hospital drop to the floor. With wide eyes, Nathan moved to pick the blood back up and hide it under his jacket while following Kestrel at the same time.
"Wait, wait. Andy? Can we reach some sort of terms with each other?" Nathan said the demon then in an almost desperate manner, reaching out to try and grab a hold of one of Kestrel's arms.

Andy whirled on the vampire, eyes still a disconcerting yellow. He snarled, "Don't touch my corpus, you undead buffoon." He hesitated, though, demeanor changing subtly from outright unfriendly to only slightly unfriendly. In an arrogant tone, he asked, "What could you possibly offer me that would convince me to risk this form? I've seen what infant vampires do."
Kestrel's head nodded in the direction of the dropped blood. "Theft is the least of your worries." The blood bag had not gone unnoticed by the other hospital-goers, either. Somebody raised a cry of concern and several others followed suit. Andy curved Kestrel's mouth into a snide smile and shrugged. "I guess you should be heading out now. Toodle-oo."

Nathan was just about to say more when somebody raised concern about the packet of blood that he had dropped. Muttering a small curse, he looked at Andy one last time. "I'll be seeing her again." He said to the demon before making his way out of the hospital, just barely managing getting caught by quite a few people.
