Full Name: Koa T'sara Zander
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Power(s): Koa T'sara is able to create, control, manipulate or animate plant life.
Her powers are not fully matured yet, as she was never allowed to practice in her home in Switzerland. She has trouble being abled to control her powers also. She has had 2 accidents in the last year which have resolute in catastrophe, and that has made her self conscious and afraid she will hurt someone if she uses her powers. She think she will turn into a woman like her mother. And that is what scares her the most.
Appearance: Koa is considered tall, about 5' 9". She has big dark brown eyes that sometimes are so dark they look black. She is thin and wry, had a pale complexion with long auburn hair. Sometimes on one of her bad days, she looks very sickly, as if she could blow away in the breeze. She would be considered underweight, due to her health issues. Having nightmares doesn't seem like that big a deal, but it takes a rather large toll on an already struggling girl. Koa has a small lisp when she speaks extremely fast, which she tends to do when exited, and when she is scared, stressed or feeling strong negative emotion, she has a slight slur to her speech. Her style isn't all that different or outstanding. She likes to wear light clothes, not to many layers. She never wears dresses, in which she feels to exposed, no matter how long or thin. Jeans are her favorite companion, but she will never wear any that have holes or are so worn that they look visibly faded. She likes to keep herself neat and tidy, but not to an excessive or OCD state. She likes boots or any shoes that feel comfortable. Mostly that are work appropriate, nothing like slip ons or sandals. She never wears any type of gaudy jewelry, the only thing close is bracelets, which she wears only on occasion.
She likes hats, knitted, cowgirl, fedora, any type really. She likes to keep her head covered. It's really just a habit, but she continues all the same. The only coat or sweater she has ever worn is a black leather jacket that her father gave her on her 14th birthday. Classic, but she never wears anything else.
Personality: Koa is what some people would call "odd". She likes to lose herself in the fantasies of books, and is most likely to be caught reading. Since she is not out as much as she should be, not even going to school really, this is really the only way she is abled to learn and imagine to her hearts content. She is not a people person, she tends to be an introvert, but if she knows someone extremely well, she will come out of her shell and just be herself around them. She feels pressured a lot to become what others think of her, even if it is opposite to her personality. One of her down falls is that she doesn't trust. She has trouble trusting when trust is due. She has trusted people in the past, and those relationships didn't turn out that well. Even so, she still has to have someone prove herself before giving them her trust. Koa has trouble separating that past and present, dreams and reality's. She will ask someone something, then thin it was a dream, so she will ask again. This can irritate people and she has tried hard to stop it. Her dreams are so vivid and real, that she will sometimes shy away from any humans until the memories and feelings of terror have passed, for fear that these things will play out when she leaves the safety of her room.
She finds safety in small enclosed spaces. If she can't get out, nothing can get in. She realizes that this might not be best when something really does happen, but she really can't help it.
She is an identity seeker you could say, and only wants to be accepted. She acts on impulse most of the time, and is constantly perfecting herself, in her own ways. She is an artistic person, in action and thought. She tends to act on emotion rather than logic, and has a hard time in agreements because she uses arbitrary arguments and points.Koa's hobbies consist of reading, writing walking in the forest, enjoying nature and just sitting and listening to conversation- observing. She loves animals and nature, and feels kinship to them, almost as if they were her family.
Picture(optional): She has a small scar on her left palm shaped like a heart. She also has a tattoo on her right shoulder with her name in gothic calligraphy and a dragon behind it,Quite contradictory to her personality, but it's still there. She got it on her 16th birthday, just a few months ago.
Weaknesses: She can never let herself be herself around anyone less than a good friend. She has a hard time controlling her emotions, but not so much that she will blow up at the slightest problem. She has a lisp and a slight slur to her speech which sometimes inhibits her. She has nightmares sometimes about her past, which wasn't all that great to say the least.
Strengths: Koa is extremely quick and strong. Though she might look week and frail to most, she is most certainly not.
Koa is a good listener. She likes to listen to problems and try to fix them. If she were given the chance, she would be a great counselor or something of that nature, though she denies it. She thinks artistically, and sometimes not very realistic, but on the plus side, she can think of things in hard situations that most people wouldn't. She likes to "think outside the box" if you will.
History/Family:Koa was born into a fairly rich family in Switzerland with her Father and Mother.
While Koa grew up with odd things happening to her, she never suspected anything out of the ordinary.
Once when she was building a sandcastle in her sandbox, she felt strange. She felt like the sand was an extension of her body. Like she was in control of the whole sand box. She then created the most amazing castle she had ever seen. Her father was impressed, but her mother was furious. She took her box away and told her never to play in any type of sand again.
Koa didn't understand at the time why her mother was so angry or what had even happened. Whenever she brought it up, mother would dismiss it saying, "it was only your imagination." So Koa began to believe it.
Until one day. Her father sat her down on a bench, at a park a ways away from home. He told her that she was special. That she had a power. She could do certain things there people would be jealous of. He told her to keep it a secret so no one would know. Koa obeyed until three years later when she went out to play. She wanted to test out her newfound powers. She created a whirlwind of dirt and grass. She was astonished to say the least. Her mother found out and was furious.
She became mad, crazy, diluted. She threw Koa out of the house, abandoning her at the edge of town.
Koa didn't know what to do. She was confused, and at the tender age of 6, she didn't understand what was going on.
After almost a year later her Father found heron an abandoned barn, taking her back home. Her mother had died in an accident, he explained. Koa asked him why she was so mad at her for being special. wasn't special good?
Her father told her that Mother was special too. She had power over fire. She hated it because she couldn't control it. It controlled her. Koa promised herself that she would never be like her mother.
A few years after coming back home and settling in, Koa was involved in a terrible accident. She lost almost all her motor skills and a big slice of her memory. For the next to years, she was preoccupied with relearning almost everything from talking to writing. Her memory loss wasn't that bad, and was regained quite quickly. But that's when she started having nightmares.
They were so bad she started having emotional breakdowns and she wasn't getting enough sleep.
Her father felt it best to get away from the memories and move to America. Mostly for his daughters benefit, but he had also been offered a job there. When Koa was 15 she and her father moved to America, where they lived in California.
They have lived there ever since.
In Character sample: I stole out of bed in the middle of the night. Mother was sure to catch me I knew, but I was so curious. I had to know. Down the stairs, out the door, over the driveway, and down to the river. I sat on a little rock on the side of the stream, and sighed. The moon cats it's bright beams on the water and rippled with the movement of the water. I wanted to know why I was special. Daddy wouldn't tell me anymore, and Mother seemed upset at anything I would do lately. Who was there to talk to? Yesterday when I was outside playing, I thought I felt something strange. The ground seemed to shift under my feet I wondered what was happening, but soon it ended. What was happening to me? I stared at the other side of the river. I stood very still. I saw a doe creeping around the trees. It wanted the water, so I made no sounds. It came closer and I smiled. She was so pretty. I stood quietly and stepped into the water, creating ripples and small splashes. The doe didn't seem to mind. It was only them did I realize that she was looking right at me. I stepped closer and she lifter her head higher, just staring at me. I was so close now I could reach out my hand and touch her if I wanted to. I didn't dare. Suddenly, I understood. The deer wasn't afraid of me. It was curious. It was trying to ask me something. How did I know that? I'm not sure. I touched it's nose, and when it didn't move away, I stroked it face and neck. I wanted to play. It knew. It kicked up it's heels and darted away from me. I was a little disappointed, but then it turned and reared a bit. I cocked my head. It wanted me to follow. I did. For hours I played with my new friend. I understood what it wanted, and I knew why. It was a strange feeling. Like the doe and I were one.
My mother called and I promised the doe I would come play again, and she left. I walked home and wondered about that next day. As I suspected I was punished severely, but I was in such awe and wonderment, I didn't even care.
When I went out to play the next day the Doe was gone. and the next day i never saw her again.
Sorry about the long character sample, I got carried away!
