 POWER What is your character's power? Were they born with it or did something else happen? How does their power work? Out of everything in this application the power section is typically what holds members back the most from getting accepted so if you're having any trouble feel free to ask the administrators for help.  HISTORY You don't have to write us a novel, but be sure to give enough information that everyone will understand why your character are the way they are. When were they born? Where were they born? Do they know their mother and father? Do they have siblings? When did they discover their power? Did anything traumatic ever happened to them? The minimum for this section is three paragraphs.

 IN CHARACTER SAMPLE Basically a role playing sample, can be any kind of sample at all--an intro, etc. Whatever you like. GENERAL RULES

01) At Foresta we use OOC accounts, which is in fact a little different from your typical role playing forum. You are welcome to register with an OOC name or your character name, whatever you feel most comfortable with (if the name is considered offensive by any members or the admin's you will be asked to change it though).

02) Foresta Academy is a semi-literate forum, this means that we want people who can write at least a paragraph for a post and about three paragraphs or more for an intro. Grammar and spelling mistakes are acceptable from time to time, but if it happens all the time then no it isn't. Here is an informative guide that might help you understand the difference between semi-literate, literate and advanced.

03) Please register on the forum before making a character, it makes things easier for everyone involved. If an administrator finds something wrong with your application you will be able to edit it as a member instead of having to re-post it.

04) Foresta Academy is strictly PG-13 in accordance to Proboards Terms and Conditions. 

05) Please use our application layout! It is in the main part of the auditioning thread and it is meant for things to be easier on you and the administrators.

ROLEPLAY RULES

01) Do not start role playing until you are accepted!

02) Feel free to make a student or a teacher as your first character, just understand that you will be held to a higher level of scrutiny if you decide to make a teacher first.

03) Do not use lists when filling out your character application, while we understand that other sites do use lists - we are not one of them and we ask that you respect that by following the application we have set out for you.

04) No powerplaying or godmodding allowed. If you are unsure what this means, links are included so that you can gain a better understanding of what powerplaying and godmodding are.

05) The power limit for teachers and students is three. The powers must relate to each other and they must be easily identified.

06) We use third person point of view here at Foresta Academy.

PLOT & HISTORY

Foresta Academy is a modern fantasy role play with just some slice of life sprinkled in. The high school is set in our world, with just a few differences. Mythological and magical beings exist all over and humans have begun to feel more and more wary of them with each passing day. In an attempt to mimic these powers, scientists abduct humans and use them as experiments - resulting in some more or less successful gifted human beings. As these experiments continued, natural born humans with powers started to occur around the world as well. Every gifted human can in some way trace their powers back to a mythological or magical being.

Foresta Academy's founders are unknown right now, the information having been lost a long time ago or simply the founders not wanting to be known. This can cause much conflict in the school community from time to time, despite this though - it is obvious what the founders wanted. For gifted children to grow to be excellent in whatever they decide to do in their lifetime. Foresta accepts students and teachers from all walks of life, whether they be magical beings or scientific experiments.

SETTING

Foresta Academy is located on a unknown island in the Atlantic ocean. The school is a large castle that was built right in the middle of the island with a forest surrounding it on all sides (except for the village area). The forest shields the Academy from outside view, causing most ships to pass by the island without care.

Students are able to locate the Academy through word of mouth among several other means. There is a magical spell placed on the island that acts almost like a calling card for gifted and magical beings, it is this spell which allows gifted people to know where the island is located. This spell also caters to those with altered DNA, etc. (scientific experiments) the sensation this spell gives is almost like a pull to the person - they innately know where they are going without any rhyme or reason.

TIME

An image for Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter can be found in one of the side bars to the left or top of the forum. There is no pre-determined month or date, and you are free to decide the month, day, and time (when you are role playing) as long as it fits with the season.
