Miller leapt off the beast when it became apparent to him that he was morphing back into human form. It most likely meant his foe was finished, though he couldn’t detract his soulless seeming eyes from the corpse until he knew he was dead for sure. Fake-outs weren’t an uncommon tactic.
His breathing would give anyone an impression that he was nearing the point of hyperventilation. Watching other’s slowly lose grasp of their life was still something that made him incredibly nervous, though his concern was within a shrunken part of his mind. The lust he held for his mistress was far greater than any emotion he could recall feeling in his recent history. His left shoulder began to roll as he prepped to throw himself into the battlefield once more, knowing his next opponent if he was still alive.
Miller’s hyperactive and twitchy body turned back to the rest of the stadium. His nocturnal eyes didn’t need to scan the battle grounds too long, the ribbon wielding one seemed to have moved in closer to him, challenging him maybe. A clack of his jittery jaws quickly induced action. Miller swung his blade back and held it ready for combat. Not too soon afterward he charged at his next victim, displaying his incredible speed once again.
His sword was at ready when he was near to closing the distance between them. He swept his weapon through the air, aiming for the boy’s side and quite possibly wanting to spilt the boy in two. Once again, he wanted to finish the battle before it started so the boy had little chance to strike back at him.

It was when Miller turned away from him that Dionysus turned back being completely human. He had lost weight while being in captivity and the wounds on his body made it more than apparent that they were beyond fixing. It only took a few minutes longer before the blood draining out of his body made it like his life was drifting away from him. Finally, Dion's heart stopped - his lifeless body leaning against one of the walls of the arena.
At Nova darting forward to get to him, Daniel felt his body defensively rise in heat. The burning flesh smell being a scent that he had grown accustomed too and the voice in his head urging him to light himself on fire. What are you waiting for? Just do it Daniel hesitated for a moment before turning his arms to flames, only for them to turn solid again when the pain his leg shot through his entire body. It was during that time that Nova had moved away from him for a moment and being so distracted by his leg that Daniel didn't have enough time to dodge the blow to his side and the young man fell to his knee's - gasping for air in the process.
The blood seeping out his body made it seem as if everything around him was slowing down, the images flashing before his eyes like pictures and the sounds causing a dull ache in his ears. He couldn't die like this, the warmth he had felt in his body before fading to a dull sort of cold now. He couldn't die like this, he had lasted this long in this hellish place - what was lasting just a bit longer going to be worth? Daniel's eyes flickered as he noticed Nova watching him and then suddenly dropping to her knee's next to him.
It was then that Daniel felt a rush of life in his body, the sensation being something he had never felt before. His bleeding had stopped from his side and both wounds he had received felt as if they were closed up now. Taking a deep breath of air, Daniel sat up then - a little too fast which made the young man dizzy for a moment before his eyes automatically searched for Nova. She laid next to him in a manner that almost appeared lifeless to him, "Nova?" Daniel started off at first - his voice weak and hoarse.

Meanwhile:
Outside the complex, the teachers met at a prearranged location. They had been instructed to wear gear that didn't stand out or restrict their movement. Some had arrived together, some had opted to find their own way to this location. In the dead of winter, the pitch-darkness of the location was only mitigated by the snow and starlight.
The stark silence of the woods surrounding the farm only made the odd... cheering more apparent. From the getgo, it's clear that most of the traffic and footprints in the snow enter the barn itself. However, the sound is too muffled for the barn to be the final destination for the teachers.
|| Goal: find the entrance to the arena's stadium, figure out what force is keeping the fighters in the ring instead of attacking the betters, and rescue the students! ||

Martina was dressed in gear befitting of a woman who was prepared for battle. Hidden in several different spots around her body were sharp objects that could be quite lethal when used properly. Over all of this though was quick winter clothing that could be easily peeled off if needed as well the colors she wore ranged from just gray to black. Martina had led the teachers that hadn't wanted to split off on their own and as she stood there now waiting for any stragglers, the woman started to pace with surprising ease despite how many small knives and daggers she hid in her sleeves and so on.
Ever since the kidnapping had started happening, Martina had been waiting to be able to confront whoever was responsible for this. It may have no shown obviously in her features as others, but the woman was ready for all of this to finally end and for the school to go back to having it's normal problems.
Serenity had opted to go alone from the group of teachers, her movements toward the building seeming just like shadows. Wearing her typical long green cotton jacket, despite how cold it was outside the woman had indeed dressed light. All she really needed was her cane after all, Serenity had felt no need to hide any other weapons on her person. Finding herself near a wall, Serenity reached out and touched the building for a moment - closing her eyes and seeing if she could hear anything in the distance. Her appearance as well was altered for the time being, standing as a tall brown haired Hispanic looking woman.

Jaime showed up on his own, wearing dark gray clothing- from the peacoat to his jeans. He didn't want to stand out in the night, especially since he did not plan on getting into any action they may encounter. His power didn't help in those situations and he needed to be at 100% in case they found wounded people. And, based on the testimony of Miss Baine, it seemed likely that they would. His rucksack held all of the necessary implements to stabilize somebody who didn't immediately need his power.
He'd come a long way since he started at Foresta under Amorina Riddell. Now, for all intents and purposes, he WAS the school nurse and he'd had more practice using his power than he cared to admit. Or the school would care to admit, as it were. He tightened his grip on the baseball bat he'd brought for extremely poor luck.
The man drew up alongside one of the few people at the school who didn't make him feel short. The Headmistress was no less intimidating, though. "I am ready to go when you give the signal. I bring up the rear," he said calmly. Sure, he was anxious for the kids, but he had been in many, many fights before. Brawls, really. But still.
"Is there anybody else we're waiting on?"
Sounds were definitely coming from the building. Even if they were muffled, they were still louder here than near any other building on the farm. The front door is not locked, but that is only due to the fact that, inside, it's not obvious where the entrance to the arena is located.

Spotting Jaime walking up and nodding toward him as he spoke, the headmistress then looked to the group of teachers that were with them. "Okay, it looks like everyone is here. Let's get this going." Martina nodded to a few teachers to follow her walking up toward the building.
In the mean time, Serenity had found what seemed like a door into the building before she realized that she wasn't where she needed to be quite yet. The woman heard noise easily, but where exactly it was coming from though was hard to pinpoint. Tapping her cane lightly against some walls, it has been almost fifteen minutes by the time Serenity started to notice the difference in the wall she was tapping with her cane. With her hood pulled up, Serenity reached for where a door knob would be with the expectation of opening the door.
It hadn't taken too long for Martina to find the first door, but as she walked in the woman had to take a step back for a moment - the scent almost overwhelming. Movement out the corner of her eye caused the woman to look down the area a bit, spotting a figure just ahead of them. Was it another teacher ahead of them? Martina wanted to call out to the person but thought it best not to, instead deciding the following far behind would work.

Jaime entered with Martina, eyes having a difficult time adjusting to the dim lighting. He sneezed into the sleeve of his coat, trying to muffle his outburst. In the shadows, he could sense movement, but he couldn't make out details. There was a faint tapping...
The fact that Martina didn't seem particularly worried about this other individual put him at ease, though not by much. He couldn't tell how long it was between their arrival and the other individual's tapping to cease, but a faint light came into view farther into the barn. A beat, and two figures burst through the door.
The light from outside the barn and from within that inner door glinted off weapons and Jaime had to quell a moment of blind instinct. Then they were in the thick of things.
---
The tapping had already alerted the door guards to the non-standard guests arriving to break up the party. They unholstered their weapons and prepared to neutralize or capture the newcomers. Trespassers could make good arena additions.
The second the door opened, they burst through. Sound entered the barn now: the shouts of the crowd, the screams of the dying or wounded, and the clash of weapons and bodies.

Oddly enough, Serenity wasn't surprised at the door flying open - the woman was so much on guard all the time that she managed to jump back, narrowly avoiding getting decked in the face by the door. Both guards directed their attention toward Serenity since she was in their immediate view. There were a few missed punches thrown on the guards side, when Serenity moved into and delivered a sharp smack to one of the guards wrists causing him to drop his gun. As this was happening though the other guard started to aim and a shot rang out through the area, as it did Serenity dropped low.
Hearing the gun shot, Martina grabbed Jaime with surprising speed - pulling him down to the ground with her for just a moment before determining it was safe to get back up again. "That's one of us, we need to go help them." Martina finally decided, not knowing who else it could possibly be. As she got closer and some of the other teachers followed behind her, Serenity was moving to disarm the other guard with the other one close behind her. A teacher near Martina sent out a vine from what seemed like no where and managed to catch the guard that was about to injure Serenity from the neck. Bringing the guard down to the floor the teacher moved fast to tie the guard up with her vines.

Of all people, who else could be late? Her chief had informed her of the assignment, seeing her as best suited for the task more so because of her violent tendencies and immense power than anything else. Tem’s ability made it easier to navigate through the trees, so she was the first of her convoy to arrive at the barn. Her back up was fairly far behind, but it was always safer to have Tem access the situation first for the more vulnerable and non-bullet proof cops. She didn’t make for the best scout, but she did make a good bruiser.
Her clots of sand owned the night sky, it looked as though a sandstorm was approaching the barn in the middle of winter. It began to narrow down once she got closer to the overgrown shack until it became a man-sized pile. Tem was quick to reform into a punkish looking large woman, she held similar features to her ordinary appearance but with some slight changes to make her look like she was part of the crowd of lowlifes that hung around the joint. She’d heard the teachers of the school were making their own attempts to save the students and the sudden sound of a gunshot cut any suspicions she had against it. Well, now she had a choice, she could follow the sound and help the teachers out or continued with her own plan on her own. She liked the idea of working on her own, but she was inevitably going to be blamed if the teachers died, so she felt she might as well before her chief runs her out of a job.
She reformed into a stream of sand and rode through the wind toward the sound of the gunshot and gently placed herself down next to the other shape shifting woman. “Looks like I stumbled upon the teacher’s brigade. Lucky you guys, your evening just got a whole lot easier” she stated pompously.

The wind was knocked out of Jaime when he was suddenly pulled to the floor. A stray bullet embedded itself in the wall near where he'd been standing. Luckily, Serenity and another teacher took care of the gunmen. Jaime's heart was pounding with the sudden rush of adrenaline and the arrival of the new person... thing... didn't much help. She'd blown in as some kind of particle, which weirded him out quite a bit.
He looked blankly at the newcomer, trying to remember if this person was a staff member. He couldn't place her face, but then... he'd only recognized Serenity in the end because of the cane. "...Thanks?" he ventured, not quite entirely sure he felt thankful. This woman's attitude was off-putting, even if the extra set of eyes was welcome. He busied himself with checking the straps on his bag. He couldn't be the first through the door, even if every second probably meant the difference between life and death for some.
---
Behind the door is a short series of steps, a long corridor, and another flight of steps that leads right to the arena. Nobody in the crowd seems to have heard or given the gunshots any merit. However, the raised dais where Renata usually stands is conspicuously empty now. The barrier blocking powers and movement between the arena and the stands is still in place, sparking when things or people crash against it.

With the guards taken care of, Serenity ignored the group before her and started down the stairs. Despite the teacher helping her in these types of situations the woman just preferred to be alone. With surprising amount of speed while making her way down the longer steps before pausing just a few feet away from the entrance into the arena. The sounds had what made the woman stop, what were they putting these students through?
Martina looked thankful for Tem despite her way of making an entrance. "I'm glad the police showed up." She said to her with a nod before turning her attention to where the guards had come out of. "We should go through there but be careful, I'm not really sure how many other people they'll send for us." Martina said making a move to be the first of the group to start walking down the stairs and into the corridor.

Tem’s attitude might’ve been completely out of tune with that of the teachers, but that was to be expected. She had no personal attachment to any of the students, in fact she probably wouldn’t even be able to recognise any of the captured students. Added to that, this situation was a lot less life risking for her since criminals with guns were hardly anything that could slow her down. She was just happy that she could see some action for once instead of the boring cop work she’d been doing lately.
“Ah, those guys were too slow. The rest of the force should be here… in maybe another half an hour or so. This isn’t the easiest place to find.” she rebutted to the headmistress as she entered the building. Tem wasn’t quite sure where her theatrics should be directed towards, so she just followed behind Martina.

Jaime brought up the rear, again realizing his place was support and not front. He wasn't like the plant-manipulator and they could never be sure what they were up against. He made sure that everything in his bag seemed intact- it would not be good to lose precious materials so early in the mission. The smell rising up through the stairs was what arrested him and made his blood run cold. Blood was a specific type of smell and this scent was pervasive. He listened to the newcomer and Martina talk, not feeling up to the conversation.
He stumbled slightly going down the stairs, a sense of wrongness getting stronger and stronger the louder the cheers got. Around the corner, the crowd stood in a large ring around a seemingly open arena. From where the corridor let out, it was impossible to see how the arena was set up. They could see, however, a raised dais... which was empty. The back of Jaime's neck prickled. Only the nearest crowd members seemed to notice the newcomers. Of these, only one or two seemed at all suspicious.
Jaime was at a loss, but this wasn't his area of expertise. Instead, he looked to the others for the next step.

Serenity moved through the stands with ease before Martina and the other teachers had been able to join her. She blended in easier by herself and the teacher soon went to work wandering through the people trying trying to figure out the first thing she could do to help these students. Soon enough Serenity realized there was a barrier in place, turning to wandering through the crowd once more to find who was controlling this barrier.
Martina held back a gasp as her eyes fell on the cheering crowd, "Watch yourselves here." The woman said to the group with a hushed tone, only making herself loud enough that they could hear her. The empty raised dais caught Martina's attention for a moment, a frown quite obvious on her face. "It looks like there's a barrier in place, we need to find who's making it and stop him."

As the group grew nearer to the seats of the stadium, Tem split herself from the teachers. She stepped back down the stairs in order to hide herself from the vision of the few that took notice of them. They might’ve not attracted too much attention, but she was certain that if she were to disintegrate that it would pull a bit more attention toward her. Once her head disappeared beyond the line of vision, she reverted to sand and dyed her particles to that of the colour of the wood that made up the flooring.
Her sand slithered around the stadium, spreading everywhere so that she could bide her time and set up a good ambush if the time called for it. She listened to the observations of the teacher (or headmistress, she didn’t really know nor did she care). She wasn’t sure who among the crowd of observers would be the one generating the barrier, but that could easily be remedied by attacking them all. Only thing stopping her was the size of the crowd, it’d be a dangerous tactic to stir up the hive and considering that it was unknown how many people in the crowd had abilities it only further cemented its illogical approach.
Perhaps she could find someone who looks suspicious enough.
