Full Name: Skutzelfritz Willowswitch Diabolicca Muldorin Moonglade Faebane Scramshaw Marry Blackbottle Voralius Domingo Tasaduul Sear
Gender: Female~
Age: 17
Power(s): Skutzelfritz was born with an affinity for water magic but due to her upbringing and her past, it manifested itself differently than most
- Vapormancy: Skutzelfritz can wield steam and watervapor like any person who has mastery over a more mundane element can wield theirs. She can convert amounts of water into steam and water vapor, making it cool clouds of fog or mist, or searing jets of scalding steam capable of leaving second degree burns. She can make complex shapes with it, and change it’s colors but not in such a way as to make detailed illusions, just banks of colored clouds. She can detect water and other liquid sources that she can set to boiling over within a thirty foot radius of herself. However she can not make steam or vapor into a solid, though she can control the pressure and movement direction of the steam or vapors. Water vapor is a very versatile weapon being able to slowly chill people out in the cold by getting them damp and bringing risk of hypothermia to being a hot and searing weapon. Skutzelfritz needs a water source to control unless it is especially humid, and dry humidity only gives her so much to work with. If an open source of liquid is not available, she can release steam from her own body by converting the water within herself and releasing it through orifices or pores. The downside to doing it this way is that she is directly affected as well. Having scalding steam shoot from your eyes, fingertips, or pores can be very painful, while it affects her at a slightly reduced level, the second drawback is that as she draws the water out of her body to use as steam, she rapidly dehydrates herself as well, suffering first a massive headache and then the other side effects as more water is drained from her. If she goes on for too long she will collapse and need medical attention to treat extreme dehydration, so using her powers extensively without an external liquid source is often a last resort.
- Body Water Affliction: WIth a touch, Skutzelfritz can affect the body in a surprising number of ways, she can cause fluid to build up at a specific point creating a bruise which gets worse the longer she makes contact. She can cause someone’s eyes to water and cry like they had been chopping onions, the duration and severity of the watering eyes being directly related again to how long she touched them. In a similar fashion she can cause someone to sweat, their nose to run, the sudden need to pee, and dizziness (by affecting the fluid in the ear). More dangerously she can cause a nose to bleed, stomach to churn, a body temperature to rise, or fluid to build up in someone’s lungs. These powers severity are all affected by how long she stays in contact with the person. They begin to abate at about 25% the rate at which they manifested, and if she touches them in small bursts she can cause it to get worse as it adds faster than it goes away. Skutzelfritz could be a lot more destructive with this power, causing people to boil alive from fever, or sweat themselves into a dry husk if it weren’t for this power’s drawback. As she touches them and inflicts them with a symptom, she too is affected with a random symptom. The more severe she makes their affliction, the worse hers gets too. She can stand slapping someone in the face and using her power to make sure her tiny hand leaves a serious bruise, and suffer a little bit of dizziness for a moment or two after; but it is impossible to cause someone’s fever to boil them to death if you are suffering a nose bleed so bad you faint from bloodloss.
- Body Water Manipulation: While those who usually have an affinity for water, eventually learn how to heal with it, Skutzelfritz’s affinity for water is not usual. As such she has learned how to do interesting things with it in reguards to the body. Skutzelfritz learned how to heal as well as harm people seriously… sort of. Through the water within the body and her connection to it, she can cause a body to mend itself, rush along the healing process, close wounds, purge infections, even mend bone, and keep the blood producing and flowing. She can also cause flesh to rip open, blood to pour, infections to spread, and bones to become brittle and snap. There is a catch, a rather big one. She can not simply cause wounds when she pleases and she can not simply cure someone for free. Skutzelfritz can draw the wounds from someone and cure them, save their life and make them whole, she then has five minutes maximum before she has to touch someone else and thus pass all the wounds from the healed person, to the whole person. She must come in contact with their flesh through hers for the water to travel through. and create the new wounds on the whole person. If she does not touch someone in that time, she will suffer the wounds herself. She can not choose to heal someone without accepting this risk. Provided she does find someone to transfer the wound to, she becomes nauseous during the transfer. The severity of the nausea is directly proportionate to the severity of the wound. A minor cut will cause her to feel a little ill, a serious laceration or bone fracture will cause her to become ill and possibly vomit, broken bones and more serious wounds will cause her to retch violently for hours causing her own serious health risks aside from the danger of the transfer.
Appearance: Skutzelfritz stands at a proud gnomish 3’4” tall and a ladylike 41 lbs. Contrary to what certain ceramic garden statues and other representations of gnomes might tell you, she is in fact a perfectly proportionate young woman who looks exactly like any 17 year old girl might look, only shrunk down to a much smaller size. Her small size comes in handy as it often causes some to feel protective over her as she reminds them of a child or an innocent fairy.
Skutzelfritz has pale skin, and soft pink hair that is, believe it or not, entirely natural. Her hair is sometimes in ringlets and curls, or complicated braids; but the hairstyle she wears most often is in two tightly wound spirals that resemble horns (think Maleficent) though being a tiny and cute gnome girl it tends to be pulled off quite well. Her eyes match her hair in color but outshine it entirely in intensity, they are both unusually colored and unusually expressive. Though weather the expression they read is true or not is entirely another question.
Skutzelfritz’s face tends to be adorned in some manner of makeup or another, walking that fine line between too much and too little. She tends to wear large and complicated outfits, be they Victorian style gowns and hoopskirts, or more modern gothic styles with leather and lots of straps, or possibly even Japanese kimonos, it is always something made just for her and usually very stylish and expensive looking as if she were trying to stand out more because she can’t stand up more. The one accessory, however, that seems to risk clashing with everything she wears are her goggles that she usually has resting atop her forehead, as if waiting to be brought into action at any moment, they are elaborate and with rose tinted glass, a gift from her beloved family she cherishes greatly and woe be to anyone who lays a finger on them.
An interesting quirk that has lent itself to her lasting visage as a lifelike doll more than a person is that when Skutzelfritz gets really really mad, she turns red in the face and steam can literally erupt from her ears or nostrils, if not both, like a cartoon character. It is one of the many strange side effects of her powers.
Picture:
Personality: Skutzelfritz comes off as sweet, innocent, and sometimes even childlike... usually... at first. She has perfected the art of appearing sweet and unassuming to the point that she can even fake compassion and sincerity. She knows when to laugh at a joke, when to play dumb, and just the right amount of tears to squeeze out to make remorse seem real. Skutzelfritz is a manipulative girl who will backstab and walk over anyone who keeps her from whatever she wants. She makes friends like acquisitions, all pawns to help and support her, or take the fall when she needs a scapegoat, however she manipulates everyone in a way that her true nature is rarely seen. Instead what has been seen is her constant dedication to being "ladylike".
Skutzelfritz tries to constantly uphold her personal code of appearing ladylike at almost all times, somehow she can even seem to pull off pranks or other mischief, which she enjoys almost as much as pinning it on someone else, while still daintily giggling and playing coy enough to get out of most trouble. This facade of propriety and fragility rarely breaks unless her notably short temper is aggrivated. Even then she does not reveal her devious and manipulative nature as it is often pushed aside by her imediate need to lash out. While often times she can stand a lot, and while she can accept being called petite, dainty, little, and even tiny, calling her something like dwarf, hobbit, halfling, goblin, or midget, she will loose her cool, usually in the form of a wild and violent blow to a sensitive area like the chest or groin. When her temper gets triggered like this is when you will often see steam shoot from her nose or ears and violence will quickly follow. Some students at her last school thought this a good reason to call her Miss Teapot behind her back… It was a decision they would live to regret. Causing her to lose face is a sure fire way to become a target in her manipulative games, so she can have revenge.
Skutzelfritz likes to cook, sew, play the pipe organ, play the flute, play musical water glasses,, style hair, drink tea, sculpt with clay, play strategy games, gossip, fence, play croquet, slowly plot to rule the world, and have tea parties.
She doesn’t mind being helped, as long as you are honest and polite about it, and not patronizing. She doesn’t mind being carried like a damsel in distress and even has been known to enjoy a piggyback ride from time to time; but she will react violently to being tucked under an arm, throwin over a shoulder or carried in any other undignified manner. If you treat her like, or point out that, she can’t do things due to her size, she will show you what she CAN do which is reach those aforementioned sensitive areas quite quickly.
Skutzelfritz is like a steam cloud, fluffy and swirly and seemingly harmless; but is in fact dangerous and easily able to burn.
Weaknesses: Aside from the drawbacks from her fairly unique powers, Skutzelfritz, though she would strike everyone before admit it, is severely challenged by her diminutive size. It is a constant frustration to know that often you have to rely on your considerable magical powers because without them you are being bested by a high shelf, doorknob, table, or counter, and are constantly being literally faced with things that are just out of reach. Furthermore she has had to learn to be fast, nimble, sweet and smart, because a gnome can hardly be considered strong without adding the words “For their size” to the end of the statement. Another flaw in her character is her temper, which has been the undoing of more than one plan on several occasions and managed to get her in trouble because it is hard to play sweet after someone has seen you turn scarlet and blow steam out of your ears before throwing your desk through a window. Her greatest weakness is her own vanity and ego-centric way of looking at the world. Because she lives in a shell of manipulation and games with other peoples thoughts and feelings, in pursuit of her own goals and vanities, she has no real friends who know the real her. Not even her family. She doesn’t know what it is to give up on something she wants and has no one to tell her when she is going too far, at least no one she will listen to, because everyone is a pawn. This has been and likely will be her undoing.
Strengths: Skutzelfritz comes from a wealthy family, she is a person of means. She is an attractive and cute girl with the charms that help her get what she wants without showing thats what she’s doing. She is charismatic which helps her to draw people in and endear her to them. She is often underestimated because of the way she looks and acts. Skutzelfritz is manipulative, and very clever. Her strengths are not in the physical arena but the area of the mind, though she knows how to run if she has to.
History/Family:
Skutzelfritz Willowswitch Diabolicca Muldorin Moonglade Faebane Scramshaw Marry Blackbottle Voralius Domingo Tasaduul Sear, was born the youngest daughter of 8 children. Gnomes living in the secret underground dwelling places of gnomish kind, well hidden from the eyes of man, though fully aware of the world around them. Although such a thing is rare, every one of her siblings were born with magic. Her eldest brother could transform into a badger and command the burrowing creatures to help them in caves, able to smell gemstones and metal ores like a bloodhound smells prey. Her second eldest brother could melt and cool rock with incredible heat and mastery of fire and was a great help in dealing with his brothers rare finds. Her third Eldest brother could read minds and so helped to sell their wares in person to others, because he could not be beaten when negotiating, for the other person could hide nothing from him. Her fourth eldest brother was an oddball with the ability to create all manner of interesting trinkets and fantastic feats of engineering that should not be possible were his magic not woven all throughout. Finally all three of her older sisters held power over water. They could heal, and mend, and perform amazing shows, and they all knew how to sing too.
Skutzelfritz had always felt like she was a background character in her family’s life. The baby of the family always being doted on or tended to, as everyone expected her powers over water to appear and then her sisters would teach her how to do what they could do. Skutzelfritz did not like that idea one bit. As she grew older she did more to seek attention in order to try to stand out. She started figureing out how to play her family against one another to get what she wanted, and also quickly learned how to get them all to calm down when her manipulations had unintended consequences. It was trial and error mostly; but she learned and managed to not tear her family apart. However, the ability to play them to get things or attention did not seem to help her feel significant or different. Even in school with the other gnome children, everyone seemed to think soon she would develop powers over water and leave school to learn from her sisters and do what they did.
On the day of her tenth birthday, Skutzelfritz wished with all her heart that she could be different than everyone else in her family, especially her sisters, and a spirit in the rocks heard her. When she breathed in to blow out the candles he let himself be inhaled, and then when she blew out the candles he too was sent away having finished his work, altering the way her magic would form. The second after the candles on the cake went out, the soup in the kitchen exploded to a rolling boil, every glass of water frothed over, and a geyser erupted through the floor. It did not take the family long to discover Skutzelfritz’s powers.
For a while Skutzelfritz was enlisted to help her fourth eldest brother with his many amazing machines. Her gift for steam was a tremendous help in his experiments with steam powered devices, and his knowledge helped her to learn more about her powers and how she could use them. The two grew very close; but Skutzelfritz could not just stay helping him in his workshop forever. She knew she wanted to be more than her brothers assistant. Eventually she was able to charm her parents into sending her to a school among people. This turned out to be a bad idea. Skutzelfritz was not ready to deal with the people up there that were not ready to deal with a magic wielding freak like her, and it did not end well for either party.
Skutzelfritz tried three more schools with varrying degrees of partial success before she would be kicked out for one reason or another that essentially boiled down to a combination of her temper, and their prejudice. She was about to give up and resign herself to a life in the home of the gnomes of her clan, as her brothers assistant, when she heard about Foresta Accademy. She was able to convince her parents, with puppydog eyes and crocodile tears that she could make it there. So they sent her with gifts of home and her companion St.Bernard “Gigi”, to the academy to learn among other gifted students like herself and Skutzelfritz, who had learned a lot about students and teachers and people as a whole from her previous schools, set out determined to let nothing stand in her way or send her back there again. She swore an oath to herself that she would only ever return home for visits from this day forward, and will do everything to see to it that this is the case.

My intro post from a thread on Elenlond:
The dirt road felt damp and hard in the cold air of the early winter night. Winter had only just begun but this was no night to be running outside barefoot. While, as a healer, Janjak was fully aware of this fact, he was also aware that stopping was presently more detrimental to his health. The angry shouts of his pursuers only served to confirm this fact was still true. He had a while yet to run before they would give up or at least fall back. Rather than be on his feet, his boots were presently in his hands filled with coins and jingling loudly. It really wasn’t his fault this time. He’d played a fair game, always did… almost always at least.
Janjak blamed the second set of footfalls that sounded not far behind him for his current predicament and fully expected to demand some form of payment for his trouble when they were in the clear.
It had been just another quiet night at a roadside tavern along the Kaadian way. It was just another stop along his perpetual journey up and down Soare selling his wares. As per usual he had decided to partake in some gambling at a tavern before he would retire for the night at his wagon with Ulshavaras. As usual he had been losing terribly. This night had been like many other nights before and would have continued as they tended to, had two unexpected things not occurred. The first being that Janjak had gotten a decent hand. His hand was so good in fact he’d put his shoes on the table to keep the betting going up. When the other gamblers had called, they’d been floored to see all their hard won money for the whole night go slipping into those boots as Janjak laughed with glee. Then the second unexpected thing happened.
A few tables over, someone had accused one of the people playing, of cheating. Janjak barely got a glance that direction at the accused, before his attention had been drawn back to his own table. He could already see it in their eyes, it was far too late to talk them down to reason. One look at his clothes, the white skull painted on his face, the tribal necklace that dangled over his ratty pocketed coat and weirdly adorned unusual hat, and all the players at his table came to the conclusion that the only way his luck could have turned around were if he’d been using some evil voodoo trick. Janjak hardly had time to protest his innocence before he grabbed the boots full of money off the table and made a break for the door.
”If I’d been cheatin Id’a won soonah an gone ta bed!” He shouted over his shoulder and tossed a handful of coins for his meal and drinks. As he’d sprinted into the night he had quickly become aware of the sound of someone hot on his heels and had chanced a quick glance over his shoulder. It was the other person from the tavern, running wildly away from the scene of their alleged crime.
So here he was running down the Kaadian Way not necessarily even in the proper direction of his wagon. At least he had had the sense to park his wagon somewhere a fair walk from the tavern in case just such a thing were to transpire. Being a conjure man, this sort of accusation tended to come up surprisingly often. However it was not usually sparked because of someone else taking the blame for something they may or may not have done first.
“I blame ya for dis!” He shouted, glancing over his shoulder at the other fleeing tavern patron just as they rounded a sharp bend in the road, before flinging the only thing on hand that he could, a few coins, in their direction out of sheer frustration
When he looked forward again he immediately regretted having not paid more attention to where he was running for he realized all too late he was about to collide with someone else who had been minding their own business on the road around the sharp turn they had just rounded. He was fairly certain a collision and subsequent spilling of his valuable cargo were imminent. ”Damn Ba’alaor!” he cursed at the guardian spirit of ill chance and misfortune as he braced himself for impact.
