Name: Isa Molto Dolce (Pronounced -D ole ch ay and not dol say)
Gender: Female ♀
Age: 27 years old
Power: Her powers lie with her tattoos. The 22 birds on her body can be "called out" whenever she wants and can fly around like normal birds. They are not considered weapons unless pooping on naughty students counts, but Isa doesn't see them as being used for those types of things. These birds vary in color and in type, though Isa ultimately decides what they look like she hasn't changed them for years and most likely won't any time soon. When she summons the birds off her body, she could summon one of them or all at once if she desired. A few of the birds actually have purposes or could be used for more than company. She can see through a few of their eyes, others can go longer distances from her than others, she can talk through some but all of them can only stay away from her for so long before they fade and return to her skin.
The moon tattoo on her back has no real purpose known to her other than changing phases and glowing in moon light.
Desired Class/Desired Position: Music Teacher!
Personality: Isa is usually known for being open minded when it comes to many things. She doesn't care about what people/students look and dress like and she can often be found giving them tips for what other things they could look good in. She loves helping people, but her best topic is usually feeling rejected. Because of her past she can easily help students who are going through the same thing; whether it's because of looks, their powers or if their personality is unlikable. Isa was even told that she would make a lovely consider if she wanted to do that sort of thing, but she felt like music was the best way she could help people express themselves.
When Isa was a young adult she was quiet, but because of her profession she had to step out of her comfort zone and become sociable. It took a while for her to open up but once she did, she started to feel good about herself and how she was different than other people. Isa stopped caring about how other people thought she was strange with her tattoos and started to live a happier life. This feeling of being happy with who she was made her want to be a teacher even more so that she could help her students do the same.
She is known for protecting people when it comes to discrimination of their appearance. If she were to learn that any of her students had been discriminating against anyone because of that she'd make them sit in the corner for their lessons or during class. On the other hand, if she learned that a student was feeling down in the dumps she would buy them hot chocolate and play music for them. Isa doesn't just let things happen, she tries to help in any way that she knows will help. Sitting back isn't in her dictionary.
While doing exceptionally well with younger people, she falls short when she's with mature adults. Not because they are her age, but because they are the people who she finds to be the most judgmental and disapproving of her appearance. She tends to avoid adults most of the time unless she knows that they love her for who she is and how she looks. Also, since Isa is in love with music she finds all kinds of friends when she goes to concerts or bars to hear people play their music. It's a typical thing for her to be seen going to the local bar or pub late at night not for the drinks, but to hear her friends play music or to discover new bands.
Appearance: Isa is a natural brunette but in her years of being a teen, she dyed it to a darker brown and hasn't changed it other than to make it darker since then. her hair falls to the middle of her back and is slightly curly/wavy. She's got gentle green eyes and long eye lashes that have never required mascara. Her most striking feature, that is often a topic of discussion, are her tattoos. Isa was born with 23 tattoos, 22 of them are of birds and the 23rd is a moon (which changes with the real moon, going through the cycle). Her birds are all over her body and can change positions whenever, almost as if they have a mind of their own. Her moon not only changes phases, but also glows a tiny bit when she's out at night. And depending on what moon it is, the glow could be very weak or easily noticeable.
Ms. Dolce can be found wearing a variety of things no matter what season. But ever since she became fully comfortable with her body (tattoos) she tends to wear things that show her arms, neck and legs. Isa loves wearing skirts and dresses and tends to top them off with black boots. She rarely covers up her arms so that her students get to see her tattoos, but sometimes she does it for those certain students who look like they need to know that being different is okay. Isa sometimes wears bandom shirts and black jeans for special occasions.
Weaknesses: Being discriminated against because of how she looks and dresses, she can get very defensive of that kind of thing even if someone discriminates against someone else who she doesn't know. Isa doesn't really like people her own age and tends to stick to her students, mostly because her peers were the ones who teased her in her middle school and high school years. While her students are either in love with her markings or just avoid contact with them.
Strengths: Connecting to people who've felt rejected, unwanted or like an outcast. With her own personal experience, she can be a sort of musical therapist if needed and will happily do so if asked. Isa does well on her own because of all the time in the system, but she usually prefers to be in the company of others.
History: Isa was born late in December by a woman who she doesn't have the pleasure of calling mom. She was decided to be put up for adoption before her mother had the pleasure of know that she would be giving birth to a child with tattoos. She was constantly in and out of foster homes because of her tattoos and the lack of control she had of them. In one case she was in the bathroom alone with all her birds out and her foster mom came in. She left that place a few days later and the cycle repeated all the way up until she was 14 years old.
Being used to getting no as an answer, she never expected to get a yes from the sweet widow who had just met her only a week before. Isa moved in with her and found 3 other adopted children, ranging from being seniors in high school to 6th graders in middle school. Luckily for her, she moved in just before the school year had started and got to start with all the other students her age. Since she was new, she knew no one and was a bit odd with her apparel (not to mention her tattoos) she became a very quiet person. Finding it hard to handle the stress of school and being friendless, she found some relief in cutting her wrists. But as soon as she started, she came across music and the cutting stopped. She still has those first 4 cuts, but no more had shown up on her skin after that.
She had no way to express herself; until she started playing the violin. her foster mother gladly payed for private lessons and sheet music for her to play out of school. She switched into orchestra and quickly became first chair. Her music teacher, amazed at her progress, gave her high school level music and gave her time to work on her music during class. She progressed ahead of her peers and started playing other instruments in her high school years that included wind instruments and the piano.
In her college years she mastered many of the instruments but the violin still held a special spot in her heart. She majored in music and could have become an English teacher but she found music far more entertaining.
After she graduated from college she started off as a tutor for young musicians, moving all around to the places with the most musical influences. Shortly after she had started her traveling, her foster mother got breast cancer and Isa moved back in with her to support her during chemo and radiation for a year and a half. She caught up with her 'siblings' and learned that the oldest had become a physicians assistant, another had married and had a child and the youngest was wrapping up his classes to become a police officer. But once their mom was okay, they went their separate ways and only phoned each other a few times a year with exciting life changes and new additions to the family.
