Full Name: Miles Levinsky
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Power(s):
Born with a pair of white wings, Miles was capable of flight from a young age. With time and youth on his side, he was quick to develop aerial adaptation. Moreover, with eyes stronger than that of a typical human, he possesses enhanced vision which resembles that of a raptor.
Having relied so heavily on flight his entire life, Miles finds it difficult to run more than a room's length, though he can squat for unusually long time (likely from mimicking birds during his youth). Smaller, more constricting spaces that do not allow flight can cause minor anxiety.
Appearance:
Miles is a tall individual with a medium frame and broad shoulders that taper to a lean waist. His somewhat top heavy shape resembles that of a bird, with strong back muscles that support his hefty wings. His golden blonde hair is trimmed neatly all around aside from the front, where longer pieces lie just above his arched brows. Below sits a pair of small, almond blue eyes that are protected by a third membrane and ciliary muscles that can change the lens rapidly to enable enhanced vision. His nose is mostly straight with a small bend (just below the eyes), which was the result of a diving accident. His pale, almost colourless lips are often pulled into a mischievous grin or bright smile. As for style, Miles prefers tighter clothing to avoid the annoying flapping of baggy clothing while in the air, though he does hold a soft spot for colourful hoodies. Sneakers are his go to shoe, with a larger than expected collection at his disposal. During the rare times when he is alone, Miles enjoys listening to music on his over ear headphones and is a bit of an audiophile.
Personality:
Miles lives in a world of possibilities, where new people and experiences are his lifeblood. Lively and fun, the young man lives entirely in the here-and-now, relishing in the attention his performances produce. His interpersonal skills are strong and along with his sympathy and genuine concern for others, he often acts as peacemaker. Generous and warm, he is also observant and will likely be the first to comfort another. It is easy to be pulled into his flow, what with his magnetic presence, but most do not mind for he easily enters the good graces of others. However, due to his dislike of theory and planning, Miles is not the best advice-giver.
Underneath the enthusiasm, the young man can be stubborn and judgmental toward those who have crossed him. Just as he is capable of great warmth, Miles is capable of lasting hatred. When stressed or overwhelmed, it is easy for him to think negatively. As optimistic as he is, these less common thoughts are difficult to deal with and though it is unhealthy to, he tends to brush away the problem with simple, general solutions in order to move on.
Picture:
Weaknesses:
Personality-wise, Miles struggles with theory and routine, preferring to "go with the flow" and simply try things himself. Obviously this can result in a "do first, ask questions later" attitude that can get him in trouble. Academically, this hinders him greatly. Another weakness is being frivolous and risky with money, particularly when combined with his overindulgent nature. Moreover, he tends to neglect his health to the point of abuse. Miles can be an escapist when it comes to his own problems, preferring to ignore or avoid the issue rather than confronting it head on. He also struggles with commitment and any long-term plans, and in terms of love, he changes partners often in search for new excitement.
Strengths:
As mentioned, Miles is great team player and warm presence to all, finding it easy to include others into any pre-existing groups with his strong interpersonal skills and sincerity. In terms of appearance, most tend to find his appealing and subconsciously tend to treat him better and be more forgiving of his blunders, to which he fully abuses. Lastly, to enable flight, his body is made of hollow bones which are stronger than the solid counterpart.
History/Family:
As his mother was gifted and his father accepting of evolved humans, Miles was very much loved as a child. Perhaps too much, to the point of overprotective, particularly from his mother who suffered a great deal more hatred in her time. Naturally, she wished none of it on her only child, and as a result, the young man was very sheltered up until 13 until the family business boomed and their finances allowed for their relocation to Foresta.
Family life was very structured and orderly, and though his parents did not shun him, Miles was often left alone in their wealthy home with only servants and nannies as company. To outsiders, he was a rich kid living the life but in reality, the business was failing. Bankruptcy had been secretly (they had their connections in media to thank for that) filed by the large corporation leader and the attention of his parents was always directed elsewhere, be it in generating revenue or maintaining the appearance to the influential. Friends were few and far in between as most had ulterior motives, be they of wealthy or poorer status. His mother, stressed and worrisome, rarely allowed her son to leave the estate and thus, loneliness was his constant companion. Naturally, this resulted in a boy that grew to crave attention and the affections of others.
It was in Foresta that he was able to live more comfortably, with few, if any, bodyguards shuttling him around due to his mother's more lax attitude. However, even now, it is rare to for Miles to see his parents, for their paranoia of losing wealth has only grown as their riches increase. For him, it is but an awkward and disjointed atmosphere when sitting at the dinner table.
In Character sample:
"Miles darling!" She called, her smile beaming as she walked to him, heels clicking excitedly across marble floors. Quietly, he mirrored her expression with a grin of his own, stretching his wings and gliding to the main floor. "Hi mom." Pulled into a warm embrace, the young man looked over his mother's shoulder to acknowledge his father. "Dad."
"How's school?" His father began, much like every other return home.
"Good." He responded automatically as his mother released him, allowing the maid to disrobe and hang her coat.
"Let's eat! I'm starving." Mrs. Levinsky interrupted, taking a shortcut through the foyer walls as usual. Her family however, used the large arch way instead.
Dinner proceeded as planned, with carefully timed questions from his father and the occasional storytelling from his mother. Miles simply smiled and nodded when appropriate, effortlessly conveying the image of a precious son. It was not until their car had finally driven away and his waving hand dropped that he was able to relax. Feeling a cough rising, his elbow moved to mask his lips, revealing patches of blood upon unveiling. Grimacing lightly, he headed toward the bathroom, dodging servant after servant. Spitting the collection of blood in his mouth, he quickly washed the evidence away.
