Avery quietly stumbled about the marketplace alone, eyeing the several stands and vendors that surrounded her. Lint lined the pockets of her jeans instead of money, of which she barely had any. Her hair was tucked back beneath the hood that she was wearing, the cowled ARSNL hoody also covering up the bottom half of her face. She quietly made her way to a nearby wall, sitting down and leaning heavily against it. Avery set the rucksack down to her left, her head bumped softly against the wall as she allowed her eyes to close.
When her eyes closed a few less than friendly eyes locked on her. There was a small group of young women walking past and they quickly noticed the tired, pathetic figure leaning against the wall. They walked towards her and formed a semi-circle around her. There were three of them standing there in the circle, another two hesitantly hanging back. A snyde, high pitched, whiny voice pulled Avery back into the fully conscious world.
"Honey, you look absolutely awful. I can't decide if you're tired, a vagrant, or just plain ugly."
The two chocolate brown eyes that were barely visible in the space between the hood and the mask quietly flicked open. They locked on the group of girls, specifically the one speaking before she shook her head. Her eyes closed once more, though both of her hands bunched into fists as the stream of petty insults continued to flow from the girl standing above her. After a good thirty more seconds of stupidity flowed out of the girl the two brown eyes opened once more, a voice ringing out from below the mask.
"Fuck you, you bratty little shit."
A few seconds of stunned silence followed the words before the eyes once more closed. Just as the closed a ringing slap was drawn across Avery's face as all of the girls now joined in at verbally harassing her. The one who threw the slap was now flailing wildly at Avery who simply didn't have the energy to fight back, she lifted her hands and covered her face as the slapping and scratching at her continued.

It had taken him longer than expected to get off the boat when he had arrived at Port Albion. That was unacceptable, but nonetheless a consequence he had to suffer for picking a slow boat. Dressed in dark jeans and a green jacket over a wife-beater, Hunter was quite the sight for sore eyes. It had only taken him a few minutes to look over the village and determine this would be quite the interesting place to stay for awhile. Having come to the island without any luggage though, Hunter quickly paid the men that had sailed him to the island and then started to make his way into what direction he assumed was the school.
As he walked though, Hunter soon found himself in what appeared to be the market area and the young man hesitated as he sniffed the air. "What's this?" he spoke out-loud to himself and several passerby's gave him strange looks. As Hunter sniffed the air some more, the young man walked in the direction of whatever sort of scent he was following. By the time he had gotten to the source though, the young man's relaxed demeanor took quite the drastic turn.
"What's this?" Hunter said once more this, this time instead of natural human voice - the sound that echoed around the women sounded deep and demonic. He was aware that he would probably not be immediately noticed, so instead the young man's voice grew louder in ever word he spoke. "I have no smelled this scent for a day! Women have such delicious pride and is that some envy as well? Well, envy is not my job. I am only here for one reason." With those words, Hunter rolled his neck which caused it to pop quite loudly - holding out his hands two swords dropped into his grip out of thin air. "Ladies, I am quite fond of you all - but I must ask, which do you prefer? Modesty or arrogance." In place of the human feature he had while he had been getting off the boat, Hunter now had flared nostrils and narrowed red eyes. The claws on his hands though, did not seem to be drastic as they could have been - and the blackness extending from the claws stopped midway through his palm.
[ooc; I leave the control of hostile women up too you. I didn't want to steal your thunder so feel free to direct this thread however you may wish. Hunter is the willing and able participant. ^^ ]

A few more moments of angry screaming and encouragement came from the ones in the back before the one on the far right turned her head to see the sight that had been placed before her, her jaw dropped for two reasons. She couldn't tell if she was terrified or simply attracted to the impressive male specimen. After a few more seconds of eyeing the blood red eyes and then the dark energy in his palms, she shrieked in fear and dashed away. The other three girls in the back quickly followed quickly after her, screaming wildly. The moments of silence that followed were painfully long before the girl who had been flailing at Avery took notice, she turned her head and saw the man. She dropped Avery and ran away, screaming in terror.
Avery slowly lifted her head, uncurling herself from the defensive position. The mask part of her tan Arsnl hoodie was totally soaked in blood. She pulled back her hood and dropped down her mask, revealing a nose that now was crooked and bleeding. Her tongue stuck out and licked a bit of the blood away from her lips. Her chocolate brown eyes locked on the man standing above her.
"...Well, that was unexpected... Thank you."

As the women ran away, Hunter was all but willing to chase after them. It was though the approach of the girl that had been beaten up that caused his sword to disappear. His transitioning back to human though seeming almost painful through heavy breathing and tensed hands. His claws retracted though, and the red in his eyes faded back to a friendly hazel. "I would think that it was more predictable than unexpected," Hunter replied to the girl with a charming smile.
Staring at the girl carefully though, the changing expressions on his face suggested caring and concern. "If you don't mind ma'am, I can fix that nose of yours so you can go back to looking wonderful." Hunter smiled some more as he said this, carefully reaching forward and laying his hand on her nose - making sure not to make any sudden movements until he gained her approval. It had been surprising to him that the women had run away and it had been equally painful - his inability to pass judgement would boil over into his next interaction. "What are you doing here? You look like you belong to the school." Hunter said to the girl, being unaware of how the school worked.

Avery, at the sudden kindness that was suddenly being shown to her, seemed slightly caught of guard, perplexed even. But she allowed a slight smirk to make its way onto her face, followed by a slight blush. She winced softly as the hand met her nose, her eyes crossing to look at it. She allowed a slightly nervous look to go onto her face at the mention of fixing it, almost missing the compliment mixed in with it.
"Well... yeah. If you can fix it go on ahead, better than walking around with a busted nose."
She lifted her hand to wipe some more blood off of her lips before she drew in a deep breath, eyes shutting tightly as she awaited the pain that she was positive would follow. She bunched her hands into fists and gave the go ahead with a slight nod.

At Avery's go ahead to fix her nose, with swift and flawless movement Hunter popped her nose back into place. It had been difficult for a moment considering how much smaller compared to him the girl was, but he managed to do it efficiently enough. Removing his hands from the girl, he stepped back for a moment taking in the appearance of the girl while bringing a hand up to his chin to scratch it curiously. "How does someone get so short?" he asked her quite honestly - catching that the blunt words might seem mean.
"Ah, I mean there's no problem with your height. I just feel as if I could pick up up and put you in a bag and carry you with me wherever I go." Hunter grinned at this thought, seeming amused and quite flirtatious all the same. "Are you a student?" he then asked her - closing the distance he had originally made between them. Gently he took Avery's hand and brought it up to his lips for a small and gentle kiss. "I'm Hunter by the way."

Avery let out a small yelp at the repositioning of her nose, both legs flailing about just slightly as the popping sound emitted from the nose. Reflexive tears came to her eyes, but they were quickly dashed away by her hands. At the rather random comment about her size a light laugh rolled from her mouth and her head tilted to the left, her right eyebrow lofted high onto her forehead.
"I do think that would be quite the sight to see, after all, you are quite the behemoth of a man. It would actually be quite comedic, don't you think?"
At the question of her studentship she smiled softly, her past few days had indeed been quite the adventure, either way, she nodded.
"Indeed I am, Diamond Dorm."
As he closed the distance between them she tilted her head upwards to keep eye contact with him, however, she seemed to find this quite difficult soon after when his lips met with her hand. Her cheeks turned a deep crimson color and she smiled brightly, this day had taken quite the turn!
"A pleasure to meet you Hunke- ah, mmh. Hunter. I'm Avery Sinisterra."
As she seemed to get more an more flustered, she seemed almost unable to keep her right toes from tapping quickly and quietly on the ground.
"How are you this fine day?"

Hunter looked thoughtfully at Avery's comment about it being comedic if he were to carry her around. As she stated that she was in the Diamond dorm, Hunter nodded - being quite unaware of what dorm he would be placed in for the time being. Letting go of her hand, Hunter smiled down at Avery seeming pleased at the knowledge of her name now. "I actually just arrived at the island, if you would be so kind - I would adore it if you guided me." At those words, Hunter seemed almost devious - quite aware of how much he was making the girl blush.
Hunter took this moment though to look around the market, his eyes seeming to drift from each and every person that was going about their business before he turned his attention back to Avery. "I'm assuming you're... what's the word? Gifted?"

Avery smirked softly at his words, head tilting to the side. She herself had only recently arrived at the island, and as a result hadn't quite had the chance to explore all of the different nooks and crannies the island had to offer. She basically knew where the village was and where the school was relative to it.
"To be honest, I'm probably not the best person to ask to lead you around. I basically know the location of the village and the location of the school. Other than that though...
Avery frowned softly as the word gifted rolled over the mans tongue. Her demeanor changed completely, her shoulders drooped and she looked down at the ground, her eyebrows furrowed and she looked up at him, quite the serious expression tugging at every angle of her face now.
"Gifted... it's a very strange word here... here, having some sort of an ability may as well mark you as a murderer or a thief. There have been some serious issues in the village over the past few months apparently, murders and the like."
She turned around and removed the bloodstained hoodie from her shoulders, placing it in the military rucksack that had, up to this point stayed leaned against the wall. Despite how tiny she seemed to be, she didn't seem to have any problem lifting the large, packed rucksack up over her shoulders. She dipped her hands into her jeans pocket, looking up with inquisitiveness at the man, the plain white v-neck had a few drops of blood on it.
"I don't know too many things about the island, but I'll help you however I can. Where would you like to go?"

Hunter watched Avery thoughtfully as she spoke about the bad blood going on as well when she spoke about not being the best for a guide. Hunter sighed and shook his head, "I haven't experienced any of this yet that you speak of." His tone made him seem older than he really was, but that facade was quickly dropped as he smiled once more. "Wherever you lead, milady," he said to the girl. "I would not be surprised though," Hunter suddenly said "If some people did not like the cursed folk." It was during that time that Hunter looked back down at Avery, reaching for her hand to stroke her knuckles.
"I'm curious, Avery. Have you ever come across someone who is truly cursed? Not with abilities and just thinks of it as a curse. Someone who has had a curse placed upon them unwillingly?" Hunter's tone seemed strange with his facial expression - which was that of a pleasant smiling man.

Avery smiled softly and sadly when he mentioned that he had never been a part of the bad blood that had been occurring, even in the last few days of her being here had been filled with a certain angst and even a bit of fear. She shrugged lightly, looking up at the handsome man.
"Let's hope that you never do."
At his words to lead on, she felt completely happy to do so. She began at a moderate pace, knowing that with his long legs he'd be able to keep up with no problems. Her steps slowed tremendously at his next words though, and came to a near standstill when his hand brushed against hers.
"Cursed folk.. huh. Interesting way to put it."
She listened to his words, head tilting carefully to the left. She took a few seconds to acknowledge the strange combination of words and facial expressions before she shook her head softly.
"I can't say that I have, Hunter."

[ooc; let's end this thread when they arrive at the school. I'm also sorry for the shorter post. Had a brainfart with this one. ]
Hunter followed along with Avery as she walked, his interest in her words only peaked for the moment until she regarding his words with no knowledge of her own. "Well, I'm one of those people." The young man said quite simply to her. It was surprising to see how easy it was for him to state his powers in such a way, for Hunter though - secrets of his own were a mystery he never intended to keep.
Looking up toward the sky with a peaceful sort of expression, the young man let out a long sigh before turning his attention back down to Avery again. "I can't imagine you being intentionally cursed though," he said to her with what sounded like the beginning of a compliment. "After all, you're as fair as an angel." Hunter gritted his teeth at his own compliment, feeling like that particular one was half-assed. Smiling nonetheless Hunter hoped that his handsome features would distract the girl for the most part.

Avery's pace had picked back up after a few moments, once more knowing that no matter how fast she went the man would be able to easily keep up with her. She shifted her rucksack on her shoulders, a yawn slowly leaving her mouth. When he allowed the fact that he was cursed to slip out she tilted her head for a few seconds then looked over her shoulder at the tall man. A somewhat curious expression was on her face, but she knew better than to press her luck by pushing for more information on the subject, she offered a small smile back to him.
"I'm very sorry to hear that Hunter, it can't be easy for you. But you seem to be dealing with it rather well."
She dipped both of her hands back into her pockets, eyes staying upturned towards the sky, a light smile on her face. The day had gone from a violent outburst to a peaceful walk with an extremely attractive man. She shifted a hand around in her pocket until her hand encountered a small, plastic triangle. She pulled the guitar pick from her pocket and looked at it for a few moments before placing it back in her pocket. At his next words she couldn't suppress a loud laugh from echoing from her mouth, she turned her head to look at him once more.
"Not only is that absurd either way, but you seem to be spreading it on a little thick buddy. Take it down a notch if you don't mind."
Avery returned her eyes to their forward facing position, her words seemed to be almost forced, when she turned around with a dark blush on her face. It seemed that even holding eye contact with him was hard for her.

As they walked some more, Hunter nodded quietly at Avery as she consoled him for his curse. He couldn't help but laugh though as she asked him to cool down with his compliments, the comment seeming necessary enough. The young man was growing frustrated with how much physical contact that was happening - and yet no connection was occurring. Gritting his teeth Hunter gave Avery her space finally, walking just a few feet next to the girl.
"Besides at the village, would you happen to know what the other students are like at this academy?" Hunter finally asked Avery with just a bit of curiosity. While he spoke, Hunter briefly adjusted his hair - tightening the ponytail on the back of his head so that his hair was less in his face and more pulled back. As they kept on walking, Hunter admired the greenery around them - wondering if maybe he went treasure hunting he might find what he was looking for. "Also, would you happen to know if this academy has a collection of ancient and rare artifacts?" It was per typical that he would ask for rare, after all the young man considered himself important enough to be able to guard something almost unknown.

Avery noted the seperation that had occurred after she pointed out how thick he was laying on the compliments, and for a moment she regretted her decision to point it out, missing the proximity and contact a little bit. She sighed softly to herself, mentally shrugging at the difference in topic. They were now only about a football fields length away from the walls of Foresta Academy. She gestured in the general direction of the walls as he continued to speak, indicating the rather visible walls. She frowned softly at his question, now that one was a head scratcher.
"Again, I apologize for my lack of information and knowledge, but as I said, I've only been on this island for a few days, I really don't know too much about the people at the school, have hardly had any interaction with them actually. They seem to be nice enough, but besides that, nothing."
The perplexed look on Avery's face would probably answer the second question for him. She shrugged lightly, hands shuffling inside of her pockets for a few moments.
"I honestly can't say that I know too much about artifacts. I know that there are probably some pretty old parts of the school that have coffers or something. Probably check around the forest if you want to find something like that.... Also, I should probably let you know, if you're planning on being out past midnight, be extremely sneaky. There's a curfew in effect currently, and apparently the staff have eyes like hawks and know whenever something like that is happening."
