Jenna was her typical airy self as the afternoon seemed to stretch by forever in Port Albion. She had been adjusting to her job quite successfully, excluding a few hiccups with an obnoxious dragon. Rolling her eyes at the thought, Jenna decided to focus on talking with the regulars about the news spreading around the village. Every person she talked too it seemed to be something slightly different, students were being kidnapped, gifted people were being kidnapped, normal people were being kidnapped. She could only assume what might be the truth, and the thought made her sigh a little bit.
As Jenna carried some drinks around, picking up empty ones in the progress her working came to a pause quite quickly as she passed by one table and a loud smack echoed across the Tavern which was a result of a large meaty hand connecting with Jenna's ass. The vein could almost be seen popping out of Jenna's forehead when she turned around to face the obscenely drunk man. Several other patrons of the bar looked on in curiosity as to what would happen next.
"Wassa wrong sweetie? Jus showin' some 'preciation..." the drunk man said to her with toothy smile. Jenna's eyes widened quite alarmingly, "Appreciation? How about you show appreciation for other things?" Suddenly the man was lifted out of his by what looked like his throat as he desperately tried too breathe. "Old man, you are way too ugly for me anyway - get the hell out and don't come back until you grow some respect for yourself and other people." With that the drunk man was sent flying out into the street by a gush of wind, and the other patrons of the Tavern went back to talking among themselves and it appeared overall that nothing really important had happened at all.

The sudden news of kidnapping didn’t fall into Cade’s disbelief. He could definitely believe it was happening, but it didn’t intimidate him enough to stop him from leaving his apartment. He’s dealt with kidnappers before when his was much younger, true he had a lot more people to back him up back in those days, but he still felt nothing much was going to happen to him during broad daylight. Besides he had other things to deal with.
He had to apologize to a certain person for trying to seduce her a while back. He didn’t have a good memory of what happened due to the combination of alcohol and dehydration. He remembered he pulled out his deck of cards and not much else after that and since he knew that magic tricks were his go to pick up line when he was younger the events of that evening could have went anywhere. He needed to look professional in the new job of his and that meant to tie up any loose ends that could potentially work against him later on in his career.
As soon as he arrived at the tavern, a man flew out the doors landing flat on his back. He debated whether or not he should help him back up over a brief period of time, but then figured that he probably deserved what he got. He then proceeded to enter the bar as though nothing had even occurred. Immediately he noticed the one who served him when he was last in the building. “I’m guessing he didn’t leave a good tip?” he joked to the woman as he approached her pointing his thumb at the door. He was quick to assume that he probably wasn’t that inappropriate the last time he was here since he didn’t recall having incredible back pains the day after.

Jenna was going about her business when a sudden familiar voice caused her to turn around and smile. "Cade! Cade, isn't it? I'm pretty sure that's your name, right?" she said to the young man with a charming smile on her face. Setting down her drink in hand on the bar top counter she walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders for a brief hug then backing up once more. "Well, I know we've only met once but it's only fair I treat you like a friend," she said to him seeming to have an all-knowing smile on her face.
She wasn't quite sure what the man was here for, and she was surprised that he had even showed up - the distraction was a welcome one nonetheless. "Well, I'm a very picky woman with who gets to touch me," she commented - referencing too the man she had kicked out. "The owner thinks it's hilarious though, I guess he doesn't get enough entertainment as is," at that she seemed a little annoyed but quickly turned her expression back to being content once more. "What brings you here?"

The greeting Cade received from Jenna pretty much put the nail in the coffin for his theory that his drunken self harassed the woman into giving him her number. Though that could still be a possibility and the girl was just a glutton for punishment. He returned a slight grin that displayed a bit of his teeth in response to hers. “Yes, sometimes it is a benefit to have a name that is only in the one percent of the population” he spoke with a sly smirk. “Forgive me if I get your name wrong, I wasn’t sober when we last met, Jenna” he was hoping that her name was Jenna.
“Well, I originally came to check up on things since I can’t quite remember anything I did last time. Mostly that I didn’t leave a bad memory for you, but given that I’m not rolling around on the streets with that other guy, I suppose I’m not as obnoxious of a drunk as I’ve been told to be” he explained as he pointed to the door again. He then took a quick glance around the room. “This place also doesn’t have that bad an atmosphere, except for the grumpy guy who shoos away anybody from Foresta.” “Although, I probably won’t drink as much as last time, no matter how much you try to pressure me this time.”

Jenna nodded as the man got her name correct, "I believe my name is pretty common," she said to him thoughtfully for a moment before directing her attention around the Tavern and then back at Cade once more. "Oh, no." She said to him with now a flirty smile spreading across her face. "It's not the level of inebriation that bothers me, you see I'm quite shallow and you happen to have fit my tastes quite wonderfully that night." Jenna then said to him suggestively. For living so long, it was difficult for the woman to feel shame in a lot of things - especially when it came to flirting. At Cade's observation of the Tavern, Jenna nodded, "I've seen some students from the school try to sneak in here every now and then to get their first taste of alcohol."
Jenna suddenly laughed at Cade saying that he wouldn't drink, turning back the bottles she had set on the bar top to throw some of them away. "If you're suggesting that I was pressuring you into drinking before, you're sorely mistaken." She said to him as her wings seemed to flutter for a moment which ended up with two feathers dropping from her wings. Jenna frowned curiously for a moment, but seemed to not notice losing some of her feathers. "Since I'm sure you don't remember, you were drinking even before you started talking to me."

Cade smoothly swayed his way to bar counter as he listened to Jenna speak while she placed empty bottles on said counter. He placed enough cash on the counter for a bottle of the same brand of beer he had bought last time. His face sort of quirked as she insinuated what had happened the night he got drunk. His excitement to hear that he had been more entertaining than irritating didn’t show much in his physical expressions, but he sure was thinking about it. “Hrm, if you ever need such satisfaction again, I’m sure I could arrange something for you” he spoke with a quick subtle wink.
“I can’t say I’m surprised that some students would try to sneak in, the ones I’ve met so far seem to be quite rebellious.” With a quick flash of his memory of that student who attempted to pull a gun on him, he leant on the countertop. He slightly laughed when she mentioned that she didn’t pressure him into drinking. “I might have not been sober when we first met, but I definitely remembered you saying that you wanted to see me get drunk. Pressure might’ve been the wrong choice of words, but you were eager to get me drunk none the less” he said in a way that seemed he was toying with her a bit. “I didn’t mean to set that in a negative connotation.”
His eyes followed the shedding feathers as they dropped to the floor. “So, do those things hinder your balance in anyway? It seems like it would put a bit of strain on your back. Then again I suppose you’d get used to them over time” he questioned and pointed at her wings for a few seconds and returned his hand to his side.

Jenna let out a quick girlish laugh at Cade's suggestive comment while grabbing his cash and replacing it with a drink. Leaning on the bar counter as he spoke and was attempting to be nice, Jenna smiled at him - feeling like she hadn't exercised her ability to inspire in quite awhile. She considered Cade interesting enough, but then again the man didn't come across to her as a poet or a artist. Her mind drifted for a moment until her attention was brought back by Cade's question. "My wings?" she said suddenly, as her left wing seemed to stretch out in response to the question.
"Well, I've always had them - ever since I've been here," she said to him - the manner in which she spoke seemed to avoid the idea of her being born with wings. "I've also had quite a bit of time to get used to them as well," she said to Cade then with what seemed like a strange tone. Jenna attempted to think back to when she was first cast down to the earth, but she found herself having trouble with even remembering where she had landed. Quickly snapping her attention back to Cade though, Jenna decided to sit down on a stool that they were near - the sudden comment about her wings being heavy making her conscious of the weight. "I will admit they are pretty heavy whenever I think about, most of the time though I tend to not really notice."

Cade grabbed the bottle once it was left available to him. He listened to Jenna’s response to his question as he attempted to pop the cap off with his fingers alone. After two or so tries he was quick to remember that the brand he bought last time had twist off caps. He must’ve been some kind of drunk if he hadn’t remembered that. He finally twisted off the bottle top exhaling deeply through his nostrils in a form of sigh. He took a quick swig as the woman finished speaking. “I read a theory once that said Angels couldn’t possibly exist due to the added weight of the wings and the fact that the human brain wouldn’t be able to handle the extra set of limbs. I suppose that scientist was wrong then.”
“Then again given the anomaly of gifted people in general, it makes me wonder if we can even trust the word of scientists” he spoke with a look of general intrigue in what he was questioning. He shook his head slightly and gave off a short winded laugh “Sorry if I’m boring you with the science talk. I tend to look at people with gifts and wonder what the science behind their ability is, that is if there is a scientifically sound reason behind any of them.” He took another swig of his beer with a bit of a concerned look on his face remembering that the woman took more interest in drunk Cade than regular Cade. As far as he could remember anyway. “What have you been up to recently?” he asked as he looked back at the woman.

Jenna listened to Cade curiously as he talked, only slightly admiring the lines of his face for the time being. "Do you suppose I am an angel then?" she said to him with a delightful smirk. He wouldn't be the first one that would think she was an angel from her wings, that much she knew for sure. In popular human myth most people assumed fairies had wings that looked drastically different from her own. "What would you science think of me being the wind?" she then asked him while she leaned her cheek against her hand - the expression on her face seeming eerily different from her usual air-head demeanor.
At his inquiry about her recent activities, Jenna couldn't help but roll her eyes at the thought of Soren. "I've been dealing with an annoying dragon, but mostly working here." She waved her hand at the Tavern in an almost annoyed manner. Thinking about the were-dragon irritated her for the time being, and she decided to bring her thoughts back over to her thoughts from earlier in the conversation. "You seem like you would enjoy what I do, as my 'power' ... Would you like to know them?" Jenna asked Cade, with a mischievous glint in her eye.

As Jenna asked him if he believed she was an angel his eyes sort of detracted back to her wings, admiring the view for a sort moment of time. He could easily go for a cheesy compliment, but it was far too simple for his tastes. “I’m not too much of a religious man, I was just pointing that out because your physiology is so similar. I’m sure you get enough questions about what message from God you bring from religious nuts anyway.” he slyly smirked as he joked. She questioned how science could explain her being the wind and he lowly snickered thinking she wasn’t being serious.
She mentioned an irritating dragon, which seemed to be an odd way to describe a dragon. He only knew of one dragon-shifter on the island and couldn’t help but to link her words back to the grounds keeper. He wasn’t sure how common the ability was, so he was a bit curious why the grounds keeper would be concerned with the local bartender or whatever it was her job at the tavern was. Though he wasn’t curious enough to ask just yet, he was sure that she wasn’t in the mood to talk about anyway considering her mannerisms.
“Let me see if I can guess first. I’m assuming that you’re the one who launched that man out the door earlier and since you weren’t near the door, you could either have super strength or some sort of telekinesis” he thought aloud as he peered up at the ceiling. “Did I get close?” His questioned as his gaze returned to Jenna smiling as he did. Most of the powers he’s encountered haven’t been so basic, so its possible he was slightly wrong if not completely.

Jenna nodded simply as Cade talked about other people asking her about the message of their God. It took her awhile to figure out who the Christian god was when Christianity itself was making it's debut, the crusades though definitely let her figure it out quickly. It amused her remembering the different reactions from different churches as they saw her. Some considered her a trick, others considered her a messenger. She shook her head and sighed at the memory and directed her attention back to the present once more.
"Well, not exactly," she said to him patiently. "I have two things that I can do now that I'm thinking about it," Jenna looked almost puzzled - until she snapped her fingers remember what she was going to do. That was when she started talking to Cade, her words seeming normal to the outward appearance - but as she talked about different things if someone had the sense for it would seem that the air around her was quite a bit more magical then usual. Jenna's power was quite the influential one, simply because her talking slowly transitioned into connecting the arts with different types of math. The conversation itself wasn't necessarily the point of her power though, in a sense the words themselves would not have any direct effect on any idea that occurred to Cade. It was the power put behind them that would cause him to come up with something, and Jenna knew from experience that some humans came up with things that she didn't even realize were possible.

Cade listened to Jenna as she spoke, though she never really explained what her abilities were. He didn’t argue that fact though as he heard what she was saying. Cade hardly even paid much attention to her words even though he tried to. The back of his mind crept its way to the forefront as he was busy thinking of his false father once again. His conflicted feelings toward him was not the topic this time around though, he was more so wondering where it was he originated from and how far was he from his true parents when he was growing up.
His mind was more curious than ever about who his parents were. He’s considered this before, but he never felt the need to find them. Also he felt there was no possible way for him to find them, he didn’t know how or where to start. It wasn’t until now that he figured some way he could, he wasn’t sure what gave him such an idea, but he wasn’t complaining. His mind was telling him he needed to start as soon as possible making him feel eager to leave.
Cade’s teeth lightly ground against each other as his gaze refocused on Jenna. “Oh, it’s some kind of power of influence then” he figured since his mind wasn’t one to drift away so easily nor did it make sense to him that anything else in the pub gave him such an epiphany. He wasn’t sure if he liked the fact that she was messing around with his brain, that is if his hypothesis was correct.

Jenna smiled as Cade realized what she was doing. "I don't like to consider it that way," she said to him. "I inspire people, my sisters and I have been responsible for a lot of great pieces of art work, literature and music throughout history. I find though that sometimes when I speak with people that are not particularly artistically inclined, they tend to come up with idea's pertaining to themselves." Her smile now seemed almost knowing in a sense, but then her expression changed as she thought about how she kicked the man out of the Tavern earlier.
"What you saw earlier was my power over air," she said to him quite matter-of-fact. "It's also what typically helps me fly," she explained to him seeming entertained as she spot someone staring at her wings as they walked in. "You'd be surprised how many people admire my wings despite their time in a gifted community."

Jenna may not have liked the wording in Cade’s answer, but it was still somewhat correct. He usually hated the idea of someone influencing his behaviour even if in her case it was only ‘inspiring’. He still preferred his own way of solving his problems, but he did like having a place to start instead of going in blind. He was definitely conflicted on whether or not he should thank her for it.
“Throughout history? Just how old are you?” he questioned with a curious quirk of his eyebrow. “That is, only if you comfortable talking about it” he added considering that he’s spoken with women that were quite insulted after he asked such a question.
His brain was still shouting at him to begin researching, but he tried his best to keep within the conversation. It was a bit difficult for him though since his mind was continually repeating the steps he should take so that he doesn’t forget later on. “Well, your wings are one of your most defining features. Not to me personally, but if I had wings I’m quite sure they wouldn’t be as well kept” he said with a charming smirk and inadvertently eyeing the door.

Jenna was looking quite pleased with herself all the way up until Cade asked her how old she was. Frowning for a moment the woman examined the man before her, after a few minutes the sylph finally decided to respond. "If my memory serves me correctly, I became human around the time that castles were very popular. Everyone also seemed to never wash, it was very... smelly." Jenna made a funny face at her own comment, but seemed to not let on any more about her age. It was hard to tell whether or not she knew exactly what she was talking about, or if she was just being vague for the sake of protecting herself.
As Cade admired her wings, Jenna shook her head at him "On the contrary I'm afraid they're looking a bit old. I haven't quite figured out how to fix this, but I do appreciate your compliment," Jenna offered up a sort of shy expression at Cade. The sylph was feeling restless to say the least in Tavern, and suddenly standing up while stretching her wings out wide she tapped Cade on the nose with her pointer finger. "You have yet to show me your work place, I'm actually quite interested," Jenna put her hands on her hips while she said this and it looked like she was almost taking a stubborn stance to her suggestion.
