Maybe it was the fact that she had only just come out from under the effects of her wolf-out and the Mistress, but she was having a difficult time keeping up with Daniel. One moment, he was relatively kind to her, then there was a flash of light and he seemed normal. The normalcy was short-lived. Not that she disagreed with anything he said at the beginning. It was a horrible thing she had done. And this had been one of the less-tragic times.
She wasn't sure how to respond- she was compelled to do as the Mistress asked. Once her other form was unleashed, there was no way for her to control that either. It didn't make what she did any less reprehensible, but she had no idea how to prevent it from happening again.
It wasn't often that she was overpowered. With her abilities, she was typically one of the strongest in the room. Therefore, she was very surprised when Daniel pushed her to the ground. The back of her head cracked against the stone and she saw stars for just a second.
She struggled for about a second, then realized that any measure she could take might hurt Daniel. He'd requested that she not harm his person, back when he spoke in third person gently. She shook her head against what he was saying, feeling her world condensing to these minutes. Nova turned her head away from him, trying to tell herself that it was stress making him say these things. Yet... the Daniel she knew had always looked out for her.
His fingers around her chin brought her eyes back to his face. She breathed in sharply when he kissed her. The very action stunned her long enough for the kiss to turn from rough to gentle.
"Kinky." Nova started to struggle at the sound of her Mistress's voice. "Oh, don't get up on my account." Mistress Renata laughed and the sound was as far from reassuring as Pluto from the Earth. "However, I suppose I shouldn't reward anybody who destroys their cells. Abandon, dear, please take care of this."
The water bender consolidated the water floating around him to wrap around Daniel's limbs and freeze. He then moved these blocks of ice so that Daniel was more or less in a standing position nearby. Nova got to her feet and almost rushed through the now-open cage door to the safety of Mistress Renata's arms. She stopped herself just short, though. Nova felt torn. There was some reason she couldn't go to the Mistress, but right now all she wanted was to feel okay again. Even holding back made her limbs shake and her forehead bead with sweat.
"It's okay, Querida. I'll take care of you." The Mistress soothed. Nova glanced at Daniel, pain flashing in her eyes before she closed the distance between herself and the woman who could make her feel okay again.
