Full Name: Felix Darius Cavanaugh
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Power(s): Enchantment of items. It requires a trade off, and the more extensive stuff is time-consuming. As a result, Felix really can't apply his power in battle. However, he does use "magic items" often.
Appearance: Felix has medium-to-long grey-brown hair, somewhere between raw umber and silver. Most of the time, he wears it loose and free, but he'll tie it back if he needs to look polished. His eyes are a warm, light brown. In the right light, they can range from amber to red.
His facial features are somewhat sharp, with a narrow nose and chin. His eyes have a slight hint of an elfish slant to them, adding to the trickster air he gives off. He has a complete inability to grow consistent facial hair, so he just maintains a clean-shaven face.
As for build: Felix is lean and of an average height at about 5'9". He has muscle, but he's definitely not a bruiser. Instead, he puts more value in being fleet of foot and of mind. He does not tan very easily, which is good since a tan would just highlight the massive pale scar that runs from his right shoulder, between his shoulderblades, and all the way to his left hip. It doesn't give him too much trouble, most of the time.
Felix's clothes are as eclectic as his personality. He works in comfortable, and durable clothes made mostly of cotton, denim, and leather. When he feels like dressing up, suits are often the order of the day. His go-to colors are soft fawns, tans, greys, and whites. However, he often switches tastes and he does a lot of experimenting with color and style. Felix delights in the strange, and this often shows in his choice of garb and accessories. Much of his clothing is bespelled (some to a greater extent than others; the winged jacket in his picture is an extreme example of his work).
Personality: Variable, eclectic, and often confusing. His actions are rarely explained, or if they are explained, it's too late to shift whatever plans he has set in motion. He can be quite selfish, or generous. It depends on his mood. Sometimes, he does things just to spite people. He's been accused of being hard to pin down, and it's true.
Generally speaking, he maintains a pleasant attitude. He disguises cutting jibes with polite speech. Suave to a fault, he can talk his way into and out of trouble with a finesse that does not jive with his age. He's not afraid to show his interest in other people, if they interest him. However, it is sometimes difficult to discern whether he likes a person because he wants to toy with them or smooch them.
He doesn't like talking about himself, or what he does. Felix prefers privacy when working on a project. He will cloister himself in an abandoned shack or basement (so the likelihood of being interrupted is lessened to some extent). This penchant for solitude can often give him an air of mystery, which he enjoys.
It is difficult to get him genuinely angry. When he is, it does not show in his demeanor. Instead, he will go through great lengths to make the transgressor have a terrible day. He sometimes acts on a need to even the playing field, or to exact a twisted sort of justice.
He has many talents other than those related to his power. They are variable, and most stem from lessons his parents put him through as a child. He is a skilled equestrian and dancer, and has some experience with the violin, to name just a few.
Picture(optional):
Weaknesses: Not much of a fighter. He'll use magic items and smooth talking to get out of trouble, running if he needs to, but resorts to fighting only as a last resort. He keeps people at arm's length. Even those he seeks romantically eventually feel the sting of the distance. He trusts nobody, simply because he himself is untrustworthy. He’s not really for a specific side, and his allegiances sometimes seem flaky.
Strengths: He's too clever for his own good sometimes. He doesn't let on too much, but it shows in the very complicated schemes he pulls off. His power is useful, even if it requires lots of work and energy. His air of mystery can be very attractive, as well as his comely features and pleasant demeanor.
He’s also very good at altering current objects, and his knowledge about enchanting items is increasing at a very rapid rate.
History/Family: Felix has always been a trickster. Remember that sequence in Tom Sawyer where Tom gets out of painting a fence? Well, Felix’s life has been a series of those sequences. He still got into trouble with his parents, but he got out of more scrapes than usual. It probably helped that his parents were relatively well-off and he had no siblings.
His powers erupted when he was twelve. Even he can’t really remember the circumstances that surrounded his sudden breakthrough. All that can be agreed on is that one moment he was alone in his room, the next there was a hole in the house the size of an elephant and several of his mother’s kitchen gadgets developed the ability to move on their own.
From there, things progressed at a rapid rate. On his thirteenth birthday, he discovered the reality of enchantment when, by bespelling a picture to move and talk, his hair lost its original mahogany color. That setback did not deter Felix, though. A couple months later, he lost his original blue eye color.
Felix’s parents kicked him out after the flying jacket incident when he was almost seventeen. That incident also resulted in the scar on his back. He worked for a while, conning people and performing minor “acts of wonder” to maintain the mode of life to which he had been accustomed. He was getting bored of this when he heard of Foresta and thought a change of venue would liven things up a bit.
