Full Name:
Sam'ael Darius Lennox
Gender:
Male
Age:
17
Power(s):
He is a summoner. To put it simply, he can conjure creatures both real and imaginary out of thin air as long as he is playing an instrument. This power, however, is limited by his knowledge of the creature in question. Sam'ael cannot summon an animal without knowing its anatomy, habits, appearance, diet... everything. From this knowledge, he writes a song.
The song is different for every creature, and Sam'ael usually doesn't have to write it down. It's difficult for him to use his Gift because of the sheer concentration it takes. Each note comes to him as he thinks the details of the details. Every scale, every movement has its own part of the tune.
Appearance:
Sam'ael is tall and skinny, about 6'4". He has no physical muscle tone, but he's strong in a wiry sense. His skin an even color that changes depending on the amount of sun he gets. However, he can get very pale if he spends too much time indoors. It is at these times that he kind of looks like a vampire in the right light.
His facial features are refined, almost delicate. When he was younger, his uncle's friends would say that he looked otherworldly, especially when he thought nobody was watching him. A small scar runs along the left side of his jaw and another through his right eyebrow.
Sam'ael's most distinctive features are his emerald-green eyes. They are well-set in his face under dark eyebrows and give him a thoughtful and canny air, even when he's smiling.
His hair is long and black, and very thick. Most of the time, Sam'ael has it tied back into a tail at the nape of his neck.
Due to his peculiar upbringing, Sam'ael is used to wearing formal, almost old-fashioned clothing on a daily basis. This means a button-up shirt and trousers, and often, a waistcoat and tie. It's a good thing that these clothes favor his long and thin body type.
Personality:
On the surface, Sam is the wonder-child. The kid that many parents wish they would have. He spends a lot of his time reading and his studies always come first. However, he's also very friendly and likes to make friends when he finds the time. He is well-rounded, interested in everything, and an A student. Almost too eager to please.
And all this despite the hand Fate dealt him. Sam'ael is a mute. He cannot make a sound. This would explain his love of music and his proficiency at several instruments. He found ways of expressing himself that didn't involve his voice. His sense of humor is slightly lacking and his seriousness might be cause for concern.
If you looked at his History, his personality would be no surprise. Sometimes Sam'ael tries too hard, but his earnestness is genuine. His manners are old-fashioned and he is a perfect gentleman, which gets on the nerves of some people. He is a little bit spoiled, since his uncle really didn't subscribe to any notion of deprivation for who he thought was his only living relative.
He's not much of a leader, nor is he particularly good with social interactions beyond being polite. Everything social is very new to him and he often shows an overexuberance or delight when experiencing something that might be normal for other kids.
Sam'ael is also quite naiive. Given his lack of experience with other people his age, he's likely to believe almost anything a person tells him.
To boot, Sam has a chivalrous streak that borders on chauvinism at times. He'll do what it takes to protect women, even if it means making them seem like they're incapable of protecting themselves.
When he does get angry, it takes a great deal to drag him out of the dark mood. His anger is impressive and scary, despite the fact that he isn't a bulky fellow.

Weaknesses, strengths?:
Sam is a mute, so he can only convey his intentions and thoughts via a notepad or gestures. This, of course, is limited in itself. It leads to many frustrating situations. Imagine his consternation when a distant relative gave him a cellular phone for his last birthday.
As previously said, his powers all depend on his knowledge. This means that hours of studying go into one song. How is he supposed to make friends if he's spending all of his time doing research?! He also runs into problems when he's troubled by something. If his mind is elsewhere, the song will fail.
He is a bit of a goody-two-shoes, which means that he will refuse to break the rules to the point of stubborness. This could also get in the way of making friends if he scares them off by being something of a teacher's pet.
However, Sam'ael is a steadfast friend once he attaches himself to a person. He's loyal, almost foolishly so. There's a chance this loyalty could come into conflict with his wish to uphold all rules.
History/Family:
Both of his parents died of mysterious causes when he was younger. Sam'ael had not seemed to register their deaths; he never actually knew them because they were always too busy to spend time with their mute and practically invisible four-year-old son.
He ended up with a blind… and almost deaf uncle in the Northeastern part of the US. He was well off, though, with both his parent's substantial fortunes to live off of, not to mention his uncle's huge mansion to live in.
His uncle, ironically, spent most of his time creating wooden instruments.
Apart from his uncle, three servants, and his tutors, Sam was alone. He fended for himself and filled out all the paperwork to get into a private school nearby.
Sam'ael first found out about his powers when he was in the middle of a flute recital. He'd stopped thinking about his music for a second and in the following moment, chaos ensued. Somehow, he'd summoned a buzzard into the auditorium. However, it was not perfect. Due to his inexperience, the bird was malformed and grotesque. It scared many people and grossed out even more.
The next day, Sam'ael withdrew from the school and holed himself up in his uncle's mansion. The next few months were spent trying to figure out his new gift.
You can bet that he was thankful his uncle was blind and mostly deaf.
Sam's progress was slow enough for him to make the choice to go down a different track. He decided that his seclusion would have to end to make any headway and he enrolled himself in Foresta.
Interesting tidbit: Sam'ael used to be heavily involved in a community fencing club. He's very good with an epee.
