[shadow=teal,left,300]Name:[/shadow]
Jonathan Fidantelius Enders
[shadow=teal,left,300]Age:[/shadow]
82 (however, he looks about sixty)
[shadow=teal,left,300]Power(optional):[/shadow]
Jonathan is a wizard. This means that if he performs the right word-order and action to go with it, he will cast a spell. He, however, is nowhere near perfecting this. He got his powers when he was quite young, but he never truly tapped them until his late thirties.
A scientist in nature, he has recorded anything that has worked in a thick, leatherbound tome, along with his observations. He hypothesizes that he's not aging as quickly as normal because of his increased contact with otherworldly forces. He believes that this might have a compensation purpose- it's taken him forever to learn just a handful of spells. He'd need many more years to have come up with something substantial.
[shadow=teal,left,300]Desired Class:[/shadow]
Anatomy and physiology
[shadow=teal,left,300]Personality:[/shadow]
Nothing phases Enders. He's far too old to get flustered with anyone but himself. He has his moments of senility, but most of the time he's a canny, very sane individual. However, he has a tendency to come off as a doddering old fool when outside of class. He's full of sage advice, but it's often disguised in some weird anecdote or random saying.
Has a habit of misplacing his keys. They usually end up in his freezer.
When he discovers a new spell, he immediately stops what he's doing and records all the details of that moment. After all, he can never be sure if happened because of what he said, or what he did.
[shadow=teal,left,300]Apperance:[/shadow]
Jonathan had brown hair. Now it's liberally interspersed with strands of grey and white, which gives him a faded look. When he was younger, he was certainly quite handsome.
This shows on his features, but he makes up for the change. Wisdom periodically glints out of his sky-blue eyes and in the secretive smile he often has.
He has a thick white beard and thick grey eyebrows.
He was once quite tall, but he's shrunk with age and is now a modest 5'10". His wardrobe is very peculiar, but he's too old to care about what other people think of his clothes.
[shadow=teal,left,300]Weaknesses, strengths?:[/shadow]
Well, there are plenty of weaknesses in age. He was never a physical person and now his frame is skinny and somewhat frail looking. Resilient he might be, but he's not capable of hurting others. He also tends to be underestimated by others, both for his demeanor and his appearance.
Living as long as he has with delayed aging has taken a toll on his spirits. When he thinks he's alone, he'll withdraw into his own thoughts and get a faraway look on his face.
His powers are, at the moment, more of a liability than anything else. How is he supposed to get anything done when anything might spark off a spell?
[shadow=teal,left,300]Some history on the character?:[/shadow]
He was born to normal parents in the Roaring Twenties and his late childhood was marked by difficulties when the Depression struck America. He was fifteen when World War II started. He joined the army at eighteen and was in the forces that stormed Utah beach in D-Day.
His superiors were a little weirded out by him- strange things would often happen in his presence. Inexplicable things.
He wasn't himself for a while afterwards, but he was fully recovered enough to fully experience the social revolutions of the Fifties. By then, he had noticed his peculiarity and how dangerous he could be when with a lot of other people.
During these years, he'd had plenty of sweethearts, but he only truly loved Nora. She'd been his childhood friend, had comforted him when he had suffered from memories of war, had explored the wild social changes America was going through with him... But she wound up with his best friend instead and he was a broken man.
He withdrew to the mountains and immersed himself in studies. A few years later, he went and got himself a few degrees and became a doctor. However, he was hit with a malpractice suit almost immediately when a spell nearly killed a patient.
Enders ended up as a washed-up bum on the street during the eighties. A benefactor picked him up and he found himself returning to school. This time, he was going to teach. He applied at what he thought would be the safest place for a person like himself: Foresta Academy.
