Full Name: Jude Alexander Mercury
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Power(s): Jude's power is quite the oddity, so much so that even Jude himself has trouble describing it to people. At first glance, it appears as though he can manipulate color, controlling it at will to do whatever he wants it to do. Not only that, but Jude can ex-spell this color into solid, concussive bolts that can travel faster and hit harder depending upon the amount of color put into it. With a minimum amount of color, these balls hurt about as much as getting hit with a baseball and travel at roughly the same speed as a tossed baseball. At maximum, these balls travel at 390 fps and can easily knock a grown man off of his feet with the amount of concussive force stored within the ball. On a side note, creating these balls of color drain the color out of Jude, making him paler, and turning his clothes into a monochrome, black and white color once enough color has been drained. Jude acquired this power when he was only ten years old, and has since learned that he not only needs regular human sustenance, but he must also fill himself with color, lest it slowly seep out of him over time. He has no clue what might happen if he loses all of his color, but he certainly does not want to find out.
Jude can absorb color from his surroundings via touch, either through direct touch, or through a catalyst, like the soles of his shoes. Jude cannot absorb color from another living creature, however, and he certainly wouldn't ever want to try. Jude can also "store" color by seeping color into an object, making it more vibrant and colorful, increasing the overall color content within the object.
Lastly, while more of a cosmetic ability, Jude can create hand held objects, like balls and darts, with his color. These objects, outside of Jude's hands, have the same consistency as water, and when touched, will lose their form and fall into a puddle of color. One of Jude's favorite objects are human models, small mannequin-esque figurines that move through Jude's will and concentration alone. He can also create colorful lights by transferring color into his fingertips and "making the colors really bright,"
Appearance: Jude stands at five feet and nine inches tall, and is by no means scrawny. One can easily see that Jude is very active for a young man of his age, but by no means is he a body builder. His physique is toned, certainly, but not grotesquely so. His dark brown hair is of medium length, his bangs reaching barely past his eyebrows while the rest of his hair just hangs down. However, the hair on the very end of the back of his head tend to curl slightly outward, but each strand of hair doesn't reach past four inches. Jude's eyes are an odd matter, as they are naturally an azure blue color, but depending upon what colors he holds within him, colored dots seem to appear in his eyes. For example, if Jude were to hold onto a considerable amount of yellow that day, then yellow dots would appear in his irises. It sometimes gets so chaotic that he sometimes resorts to wearing sunglasses, just to keep people from giving him funny looks.
As for his attire, Jude tends to stick to a hoodie, undershirt, jeans, socks, and tennis shoe style most days. However, he is constantly wearing different colors, and never seems to wear any black or white, unless absolutely necessary. Despite all of the color Jude seems to hold within himself, the young man's skin is usually a lightly tanned but overall fair complexion.
Personality: Jude views himself as a rather creative individual, as he is almost always seen painting fantastic or surreal landscapes and individuals. He uses painting as a creative outlet so that he might better "understand" his powers, and how important they are to the world at large. Even during his early childhood, Jude has held an optimistic view of the world, always finding some sunny ray of hope amidst even the dreariest of days. Whenever he does get sad, he certainly makes a point not to show it to others, masking his sorrow with a smile, so as to make sure that the ones he cares for most won't be sad with him. After all, Jude doesn't want to drag people into his own problems if he does not have to. However, he is always willing to aid others with their problems, no matter how minor they might be.
Yet, while he can certainly be aloof and carefree, he certainly understands the value of discipline. Though, he knows all to well that following the rules all of the time can be somewhat boring, so he is by no means a goody two shoes! He loves pranks, and certainly isn't afraid to get into a fight if he feels he needs to. Still, he usually tries to find a pacifistic method to solving conflicts, rather than run in throwing punches. Despite this, Jude likes to practice kick boxing in his spare time, and enjoys watching a good kung fu movie every now and then.
It's very rare for Jude to show anger, but there are certainly a few things that will set him off. He does not like to be disturbed while painting, due to the fact that it will throw him out of focus, and thus degrade the quality of his picture as a result. Jude also detests incredibly loud music, as he prefers more quiet, soothing melodies to calm him down after a stressful day. He also cannot stand the color black and white, since he cannot properly absorb those colors into his body.
Weaknesses: Jude, as stated above, cannot manipulate color without some form of a price. For each glob of color he fires off, he loses parts of that color within his body, forcing him to stockpile on color. However, this stockpiled color tends to just sweep through Jude's body, forcing him to collect more and more color, as if this power had created a second stomach within him. If Jude does not fill himself with color, his cheery disposition quickly shifts, becoming depressed and unwilling to perform even the most simplest of tasks. If he spends too much time like this, he runs the risk of becoming transparent, and eventually fading from existence.
Among other things, Jude tends to hide his problems, no matter how major they may be. This usually leads to emotional breakdowns after building up his negative feelings for quite some time, though he usually makes it a point to hide away in a closet or something before breaking down.
Not only that, but Jude is very stubborn, so it will be hard to get him to stop doing something if he has mind set on performing a particular task. He is a very independent young man, but because of this, he hardly ever accepts help whenever he is struggling with something.
Strengths: The physical, hand held constructs that Jude can make with his color range from a variety of tools, such as blades, screwdrivers, skeleton keys, wrenches, etc. This makes his power very versatile, which certainly fits with how Jude tends to think outside of the box.
His creativity is his most appreciated gift, as he usually comes up with solutions that go outside the norm. After all, he can go ahead and solve a problem through the conventional methods, but where is the fun in that? Though of course, this only tends to frustrate his math teachers, since he can't ever seem to follow the norm and just do the problems the way they want him to.
Regardless of his previous teachers' opinions of him, Jude is a very diligent worker, not stopping until the job is done, and done right! When he has to perform a task, he does so to the best of his ability, and never gives up. One could say that this is one of the more positive side effects of his stubborn will, and while this isn't necessarily wrong, Jude is just naturally propelled by the need to finish a project he started.
History/Family: Jude's story does not begin with his birth, but with his loving parents, Marcus and Willamina Mercury. Both individuals grew up on the very island where the academy was situated, their grand parents being some of the founder's acquaintances. They did not stay around for the overall cause of the village's creation, but stayed because of the beautiful landscapes and friendly neighborhood that they lived in. One would not see Marcus, a rather serious young man aiming to become a Lawyer, and Willamina, a good 'ol western girl with aspirations to run her own bakery, getting together. But after a few meetings at the local bar, a connection started to grow between the pair, and they were quick to marry, and had Jude by the time their marriage had reached it's second year. Officially speaking, Jude was born on May 15th, 1996.
Jude's early childhood was one filled with curiosity and childish wonder, the young lad never taking anything seriously, and constantly attempted the stunts he would see in kung-fu movies that he started to watch from the age of five. Roughly three years later, his parents agreed to have him partake in kickboxing lessons, which would greatly benefit the young man, who trained in the sport diligently. However, problems started to occur when Jude reached the age of ten. Suddenly, objects he touched would lose their color in their entirety, and seemingly vanish into thin air.
Jude's parents, to afraid of what was happening to their son to see a doctor about this condition, tried their best to figure out what was causing this. During this period, Jude tried his hardest to understand his new "condition", all the while feeling this odd pull towards the nearby forest, as if something was calling to him. By the age of ten, Jude had started to use his new powers of color manipulation as an artistic medium to express his creativity and frustrations in a healthy manner, and had mistaken this "pull" as a need to paint the landscapes of the island, starting off with pictures of trees, before swiftly evolving into paintings of massive, fantastic forests. In his fifteenth year, Jude had managed to discover the Foresta Academy, and, after a rather long discussion with his family, he attended the school months before his 16th birthday sprang up. Now, filled to the brim with confidence and "good ol' teen spirit," Jude excitedly enters his first year at the school.

The early morning sky was still a pale blue color, as the sun had not yet risen above the horizon by this point in time. The air still held onto the remnants of the cool night breeze, making the fresh air crisp and refreshing for the young man who walked amongst the tall trees. Pressed between his right arm and his body, the teen carried what appeared to be a small, white canvas, while the left carried what appeared to be a cumbersome stand for said canvas.
With each step the young man took, he left what appeared to be grey footsteps, a few brown speckles of color forming within the teen's azure blue irises. He continued to walk like this for what seemed like half an hour or so, until he finally stopped at the edge of a clearing, setting up his stand and canvas as he tried to picture the scene in front of him, and how he could make it more unusual. After finishing the small matter of setting up, the teen's fingers began to glow with a myriad of colors, and with each trace of his finger, a line of color would follow behind, as if the young man's fingers were paint brushes.
"Oh magical colors, red yellow and blue, show me your wonders, your vibrant hues. Take this canvas, so bleak and white, and give it some warmth, with your radiant light. Flow free from my hand, and onto the page, I'll create a new land, I forge a new age. And while its not real, and while it is fake, it helps me to heal, the hardships I take. So magical colors, red yellow and blue, please show me your colors, your vibrant hues." Jude sang, all while painting an image upon the canvas. It depicted a light blue forest, with spindly trees with curly branches. Each branch was adorned with a cyan bell like flower, each one emitting soft purple dots of light as they fell to the earth below. Jude knew for a fact that he wasn't all that great of a singer, but singing helped him concentrate somewhat, and it tended to give him something to listen to at this hour. He just hoped that no one was listening to him, after all, it would be rather awkward to just run into someone in the middle of the forest, especially this early in the day!
