In his room, there was a tightly locked briefcase tucked neatly away under his mattress, away from eyes that were not his own. Only when he was sure he was alone and would be undisturbed did he carefully remove its contents, for it contained many things that had contributed to his extensive life.
Inside - two books. The first was extremely old and worn out, with a moth eaten binding and pages yellow and falling out left, right and center. It was, however a somewhat thick book. What was in this book?
Diary Entries.
The very first entry was clumsily written in ink, with words spelt out incorrectly and written in clear, capital letters, the kind you would find a child write on their first day of schooling; however, the vocabulary was too large for a child.
In between the pages lay scraps of old paper filled with notes and stolen pages torn out of handwritten books. There were also a few curious things, from fake IDs to articles on bats. To an outsider, this would all be nonsense, possibly even suspicious. To a historian, this would be the discovery of the century. But to Dev, it was his life, starting from 1603AD when he learnt to write by hand.
If one were to turn to the back page however, they would see this book was full. The last entry wrote:
The second notebook is very new. It's a very thick. The pages are new, white and have lines across them. The binding? Green, hardcover cardboard. So, we know the purpose the second book serves. And the following are all notes and entries written by Devin himself.

After decades of self-conflict and debate, I am going to attend Foresta Academy for research purposes. End of Story. Note to Self: Buy a new notebook. And some cigarettes.
