Jace repeated the word Izzy hated most, "Addicted…" and she felt a shudder slip over her tensing shoulders. "Sorry… but you’ve got to talk slower, I can barely understand you I… I… think I’ve got the gist of that though.” Jace finished with a smile at her. Izzy blushed again and felt embarrassment snake through her, she'd always had a problem when it came to talking slow. Izzy nibbled at her lip and looked down at her shoes. Zoning out a little she listened to the heavy beat of a 3OH!3 song that she couldn't remember the name of, pulling her attention back she heard Jace speaking, focusing she caught some of what he was saying and wondered if it was ghosts again. "Sorry about that but ghosts… what can you do?" Izzy smiled back at his grinning face, and was about to say she had no idea when she noticed his grey eyes had flecks of charcoal black in them and she couldn't help but think how they seemed to see more than she ever would. Questioning her sanity, she shook away the thought and wondered what had made her think it. Her mind chose that moment to swamp itself in thoughts that puzzled Izzy. Her brain was screaming a million things at her, contradicting itself with every one. She scrunched her eyes and sorted through them. He seems nice. Don't trust him. He could make a good friend. He hates you. You like him. She wanted to let out a scream but she just focused on ignoring her thoughts, clenching her fists so hard that she broke the skin, she focused on the pain that tore through her thoughts. Her thoughts scattered, forgotten as she relished the sting. Smiling again she looked back at Jace and was about to ask about the song he was listening to when her stomach let out a loud grumble. Laughing at herself Izzy felt a slight blush sweep her tanned face but just shrugged at Jace and apologized. "Sorry, I haven't ate since breakfast and over using's made me starving i guess."

Izzy opened her mouth as if to say something but was cut off by her stomach growling, Jace raised his eyebrows at her, grinning. "Sorry, I haven't ate since breakfast and over using's made me starving i guess." she explained and Jace nodded in understanding. He hadn't actually eaten since yesterday's lunch but he was used to having no food - part of his 'ability.' Jace clambered to his feet quickly. "You want to get something from the dining room? or from the town or whatever?" he asked, he suddenly had the urge to move and he could hear the patter of rain on the library roof - even better he thought. The rain would make everything easier, and it wasn't as if he wasn't dressed for it - he was already soaked thanks to Izzy's display of power. So...? We’re going are we? Mind if I tag along or do you want to be alone? oh sure now he asks Jace thought but he ignored him. Remembering the incident Jace ran a hand though his hair and turned to the table on which was the book he had been 'reading' or using as a pillow, whichever. The pages were starting to dry, crinkled and fragile. "Erm... you don't suppose... you could...?" he nodded to the book hoping she knew what he meant. The book needed putting back to normal desperately or that would be him banned from the library. Dry the book? Dylan suggested and Jace nodded before he remembered that Izzy couldn't hear him. "Dry the book?" he finished, blushing again. "Then we can go..." he added, he was done here, in fact that ghost had sorted herself out - sort of. He swung his backpack onto his shoulder. "God I need coffee" he muttered, thinking about the warm given of energy and running his hand through his hair again. He shook his right leg to get rid of the dead feeling in it and checked his IPod 'I'm Not Coming To Your Party Girl' by 3OH!3 he smiled. "I won't be dancing with you now baby, I’ll be dancing on my own" he sang quietly under his breath.

Jace nodded at her, then he was on his feet saying "you want to get something from the dining room? or from the town or whatever?" That was unexpected thought Izzy, she could tell she wanted to and that had her on edge, she wanted to go with someone? What the hell was up with that. Shrugging off the unfamiliar feeling that accompanied the thought she got to her feet slowly, wondering what she should say she was relieved when Jace spoke again, "Erm... you don't suppose... you could...?" he waas nodding towards the slowly drying book, Izzy realised what he meant even before he added, "Dry the book? Then we can go..." Izzy smiled loving the way just the thought of using for such a simple task had her heart racing pumping excitement through her veins. She concentrated on her music for a moment forcing it to be more important than using. Then she was extracting the water from the book, feelng her rush grow as every drop was pulled back. She licked her drying lips and wondered what she should do with the cloud of water she had just pulled from it, there was too much to just leave on the floor or anything. The earlier energy drain made itself known through the slight headache that was forming just behind her eyes and Izzy knew she needed to stop unless she wanted to pass out again. Chewing her lip she glanced around, she could dump it in the plant pot... she thought then had a better idea. Her tattoo whirled faster as her pulse jumped. The jolt of the cold water falling onto her caused her heart to pick up speed, she let out a laugh and slowed the water as it ran down her. It slowly moved succeeding in soaking her hair and making her clothes a little wet. She continued to make the drops of water to roll over her bare arms and relished the tingle of the power and control that it left behind. Pulling herself back, stopping the waters unnatural movement she looked at Jace and laughed. Shrugging she said, "well it was as good a place as any..." She walked over to the book picking it up, the drry pages were a little crinkled but only slightly, if she'd dried it earlier they wouldn't have been. Only slightly annoyed at herself for forgetting about it, she turned and shrugged, "it's not perfect... the edges are a little crinkly." She chewed at her lip then added, "Oh well I don't suppose anyone should notice right?" Izzy stood there dripping only slightly, holding the book and she looked at him for a response. "Oh... erm, if we go somewhere that has coffee and cake then I'm all for going ...wherever you like?" She added that as she realised she hadn't actually said anything about his suggestion. Her unnerving thoughts tried to claw in at her conscious thinking but she blocked them and only one flowed in... Friend Or Foe?

Jace watched, transfixed as the water from the book rose, drying the pages. He watched as the water swirled and danced in the air. Izzy looked like she was debating about where to put it and Jace smirked at her. He couldn't help but let a chuckle escape him as she chucked it all over herself. "well it was as good a place as any..." He laughed again, brushing his hair from his eyes and enjoying the soft drip as water fell from Izzy and onto the floor. He smiled at her as she picked up the book, taking it from her gently. "it's not perfect... the edges are a little crinkly... Oh well I don't suppose anyone should notice right?" He grinned and slotted the book back onto the law section of the shelf. "It's fine, no one will notice" he reassured her, at least he didn't think so. He swung his bag onto his shoulder and winced at the loud thunk that he knew was his camera meeting something heavy - most likely the tin pencil case he knew was in there to hold his 'memory things' - and he hoped he hadn't just broken it. "Oh... erm, if we go somewhere that has coffee and cake then I'm all for going ...wherever you like?" Jace nodded. He didn't know where to go, the dining room was most likely going to be packed and he didn't know if he cold handle the crown but everywhere else wasn't much better. So the choice was between strangers or people he might recognize. He grimaced "why don't you choose?" he asked, deflecting the question “I’m no good at deciding… well anything” he explained. He looked at Dylan who was unusually quiet and Dylan shot him an encouraging grin. You’ve got to admit, that water thing was weird Jace stifled a groan, opting instead to send the ghost a rather rude hand gesture behind his back. ’Coz that’s charming Dylan rolled his eyes and ran his hand over the spines of the books next to him, he couldn’t touch them but that didn’t stop him trying. Jace shook his head, turning away from him, sometimes he felt sorry for the poor ghost. He busied himself with his IPod taking his time with changing the songs. I'm searching for a change of pace. Trying to pull away all these names. Tell you how it all works out. I'm terrible on the phone. It's better when it's us all alone. Tell you how it all works out.

Izzy raised an eyebrow at Jace and placed a hand on her damp hip, "why don't you choose? I’m no good at deciding… well anything" She frowned at his words hating having to decide, her mind flitted through the different options. There was the dining room but everybody knew that the on campus coffee sucked. There was the coffee house but there's wasn't much better. Sighing she thought about it then did a dip in her head. "Dining room it is then, only, erm... well i know it's raining out but i'd rather get stuff to go...?" she phrased her words as a question and hoped he wouldn't mind the rain. She felt too caged indoors and she wanted to have the rain on her skin. She smiled at the thought of sitting in the rain, with some food and coffee, two words sprang to mind, 'Picnic' and 'Bliss'. Crossing her fingers she hoped he'd be up for being outdoors. Truth be told Izzy also didn't want to be around all of the other people who would be gathered around. Her mind wandered and she felt the questions bubble, one after another they raced through her thoughts. Why did she feel so comfortable with the idea of being with Jace? Was there an alterior motive to her picnic idea? She stopped them then, knowing it was getting out of hand and that she'd be blushing before she knew it. Of course there wasn't any other reason. She shook the annoying thoughts away and concentrated on her music... it had stopped. "Damn," the word was almost a whisper but not quite, her battery had gone flat. Frowning she tugged her earphones out and started to wind them up. Biting her lip she felt the awkwardness that swam off of her, without her music she felt so much more vulnerable, more open. Izzy started to move the water on her skin again, barely using so the rush didn't affect her, she was simply calming herself. Then looking at Jace she shot him a childish grin and waited to see what he'd say to her suggestion of a rainy picnic.

Jace scuffed his trainers on the floor, feeling a little awkward. No matter where they went they were going to get stared at and it was going to annoy him and make him uncomfortable. He couldn’t listen to his music to drown it out either because that way he wouldn’t be able to hear what Izzy was saying. "Dining room it is then, only, erm... well I know it's raining out but I’d rather get stuff to go...?" Jace smiled at the slight question in her voice and was relieved that there was an answer to his problem – outside it was still raining, he could hear it pattering on the roof, meaning that not many people would be outside. That was good news. He nodded enthusiastically, and then abruptly stopped, feeling stupid he looked down at his trainers again. “Erm… yeah that’d be fine… I like the rain” he murmured feeling the blood rush to his cheeks. Smooth. God I was wrong she’s not weird – you’re the damn weird one Jace ignored Dylan as usual, the only tell the he had heard him was the deeper reddening of his cheeks. "Damn," he looked up at Izzy’s muttered curse and saw her studying her IPod with disappointment and disgust. He grinned “has it run out of battery or something?” he asked, the laugh evident in his voice. Dylan rolled his eyes I didn’t think that it was possible but she’s even more music obsessed than you… god you’re perfect for each other Dylan pulled a face at him and started to fade I’m getting the hell out of here Jace raised his eyebrows as the ghost disappeared, “good riddance” he muttered. He glanced back at Izzy and smiled “are you ready then?” he asked. He shoved his backpack further up his shoulder and started to leave the library. The librarian gave them a disapproving look as they left and Jace chuckled to himself, she had obviously heard at least some of what had transpired. He ran a hand through his hair and hoped that she wouldn’t investigate and find the still slightly damp book. He skipped a song on his IPod, figuring that this would be the last one before he turned it off – he didn’t want it to get wet but he also thought it would seem quite rude if he was listening to his music whilst he knew that Izzy couldn’t listen to hers. I couldn't sleep last night, I walked alone, On the beach Where we always used to go… When we couldn't hook up at home.

Izzy nodded as Jace said, "are you ready then?" She followed him out of the library and let out a laugh as she caught the librarians eye. She knew she shouldn't and that she might get into trouble for it if the librarian passed a note on about it but right then Izzy didn't care. Once in the hallway Izzy walked alongside Jace and wondered again why she was doing this? She was willingly spending time with a person and not hating every second of it. She thought about past experiences and knew the difference. Here she could be herself, this boy knew her power and even had one of his own, that was what made this different, better. She didn't have to hide anything. Walking along, Izzy wondered what they could talk about. She wasn't any good at conversations and was glad the walk wasn't far, mentally trying to decide what cake she was going to get she asked, "so err... do you know of anything to do around here for fun?" Izzy knew that the question was stupid and before giving him a chance to answer she turned to him and said, "oh I know, race you?" Izzy flashed a grin at Jace and tore off down the corridor. Knowing you weren't meant to run Izzy couldn't help but laugh, as she skidded around the corner and saw the dining room doors. Slamming into them she pushed them open only to be greeted by a cascade of noise. The room was full to burst and Izzy felt a frown slide onto her face. She wished it wasn't so full and was glad they wouldn't be staying there long. Walking in, Izzy bit her lip as she looked at all the different cakes available. Knowing how greedy she looked and not particularly caring Izzy asked for a slice of each to go. The server picked up each and wrapped them individually, there was five pieces in total. Grinning, Izzy took them thanking the woman and proceeded to get what this place passed off as coffee.

All Again For You by We The Kings finished on his IPod and Jace slowly took his headphones out of his ears. He wrapped them carefully around the slim IPod and shoved it – carefully of course – into his pocket, he didn’t know what he would do if his only source of music broke. The silence fell on his ears and deafened him for a moment before he got used to it. He walked down the hallway next to Izzy, searching his brain for something, anything, to say the deathly quiet was uncomfortable. "so err... do you know of anything to do around here for fun?" Izzy asked, Jace thought about it for a moment and opened his mouth to answer but Izzy was already speeding on ahead. “oh I know, race you?" she called just as she took off. Jace grinned as he kicked up some speed and tore off after her. His trainers hit the ground in perfect rhythm and soon he found himself matching his breathing and falling into his usual steady but quick pace. He caught up with Izzy just as she burst through the cafeteria doors and he winced at the sudden burst of noise. Everyone was talking at once and he was suddenly very happy that Izzy had suggested they go outside – they would thankfully not be there long. Jace forced his expression to change from the grimace and refused to show his dislike of this place and the people in it. Jace couldn’t help but smile as Izzy asked for one of each to go, he wasn’t that hungry and chewed his bottom lip as he decided between the five varieties of cake. Izzy took off across the hall – presumably to get coffee and the server smiled inquiringly at him. He smiled back “erm… can I get a piece of the chocolate cake and the carrot cake, to go, please?” he asked and watched as the woman wrapped them carefully, she pushed them across the counter and he thanked her, picking them up. He followed Izzy’s steps, coffee was what he needed. The school’s was a poor excuse for it but it would have to do. He was glad he liked his coffee black, there wasn’t many ways to screw that sort of coffee up – of course he didn’t always like his coffee that way it was the countless sleepless nights that drove him to it and now he loved it, he couldn’t live without his coffee. “So…” he started, turning to Izzy with his purchases that he had just paid for “where are we going then?” he asked, grinning.

Izzy stuggled to shuffle her cake slices so that she could hold her coffee without spilling it. Cursing under her breath, she spilled a little of the hot liquid onto her hand, using, she felt the strain but knew it was only for a second, she forced the coffee to stay in the cup. Laying it on top of the pile of cakes she turned and was shocked by Jace,“so…where are we going then?” he asked. Laughing, Izzy shrugged, "outside..." About to leave, Izzy turned and grabbed four packets of sugar and two milk shots. Gathering them into her arms, alongside the cake and coffee, she turned and smiled back at Jace. "Come on then," she said as she walked towards the doors. Juggling her things she tore one of the sugar packets open with her teeth and poured the contents onto her tongue, swallowing it she felt the kick instantly, her power no longer felt drained nor was holding the coffee in the cup anything of a hassle, she smiled and relaxed. Walking beside Jace they were nearing the doors that lead outside of the academy when Izzy realised the silence, she hated silence but could never find the right words to fill it. "So what shall we talk about? I mean ...er... well do you wanna talk past present or future?" Pushing the door open and being ever so careful as to not drop anything, Izzy started talking again, "I mean past like anything to do with your life or whatever before foresta. Presen- Holy Hell it's raining alot. Err.. where was I? Oh... yeah present like to do with being here, interests anything at all, and Future is everything after this.." she gestured around wildly with her arms, dropping everything onto the sodden ground. "Shit, man." She bent and picked up everything, enjoying the feel of the cool rain against her skin, she looked at Jace, "so what's it gunna be?" Smiling at him, she stood and walked further out into the rain, jogging a little to reach one of the huge trees that was skirting the grass, Izzy lay down under it, letting the grass soak her completely, whilst the rain battered down also. Propping herself onto her elbows she opened the slice of carrot cake and took a bite whilst righting her coffee and allowing herself to stop holding it inside the prison of the cup any longer. She then used, creating a bubble around the cup, the rain just glided around it so she began to empty the remaining sugar and milk into it.

Jace took a cautious sip of his coffee and pulled a face, god it was worse than usual and he didn’t think that was even possible. Still, he knew he would drink it... and probably crave more when he was done. "Outside..." Izzy dragged his mind back to reality as she answered his rather stupid question. As they prepared to leave, Jace stared as Izzy turned and grabbed four packets of sugar and two microscopic milk cartons. She turned and smiled at him and Jace forced himself not to wince, he couldn't stand the thought of such perfect coffee being tainted by something as mundane as milk and sugar. "Come on then," Izzy tossed back at him, already heading for the doors, and Jace automatically hurried to catch up with her. He watched curiously as Izzy tore open some sugar and tipped it into her mouth, he grinned, strangely relieved that it wasn't for the coffee - he was weird like that. Making a beeline to the doors was harder than it should have been. To ensure that you weren't stopped by somebody you had to make sure you didn’t seem like you were in a hurry but you didn’t want to linger either otherwise somebody thought you were only there for conversation. There was a solution of course, music, but for that you obviously had to be on your own. Jace easily handled his coffee and cake as he negotiated the crowd of people, dodging most of them and shoving through the rest. Some people are just rude he thought as he was forced to push yet another stubborn person who had stopped in front of him - most likely on purpose. Walking beside each other they emerged from the throng, thankfully nearing the doors - and freedom. "So what shall we talk about? I mean ...er... well do you wanna talk past present or future?" Izzy sped up a little and pushed the door open, Jace raised his eyebrows at the gesture, really he should have done it, she had far too much in her arms and if she wasn't careful she was going to drop it all. Though, as Jace was beginning to realise, Izzy took no notice and continued talking in the garbled rush that he was getting better and better at deciphering. "I mean past like anything to do with your life or whatever before Foresta. Presen- Holy Hell it's raining a lot. Err… where was I? Oh... yeah present like to do with being here, interests anything at all, and Future is everything after this..." As they left Jace took his attention from Izzy and focused on the outside. The peace and quiet was a blessing in disguise and it hit him the moment the doors shut behind them. The quiet was accompanied by a stinging gust of wind and Jace relished the feel of it against his skin along with the freezing droplets of rain that were brought along with it. He smiled to himself, rain always relaxed and recharged him, gave him energy he didn't know what it was - it was just so much better than sun. Izzy's curse made Jace glance at her and he noticed that she had indeed dropped everything on the floor; he was slightly puzzled by that until he figured that she must have waved her arms around in some sort of gesture forgetting about her food. She bent and began to pick everything up, too quickly for him to help. "So what's it gunna be?" she inquired. Jace shrugged but Izzy was already on the move again. As she started to jog Jace trailed behind, enjoying the refreshing rain and the sound of his trainers squelching on the damp ground. Izzy was heading for a large tree nearby and he grinned as she lay down in the grass under it - he had something different in mind. He sped up; building up momentum he knew that he would need if he was to do what he was thinking. Conscious of the fast approaching tree he locked the arm holding his coffee straight and shoved his cake in his pocket. His eyes focused on the branch slightly higher than him, judging the distance carefully, one wrong move and it was going to hurt. Wait for it, one... two... NOW! he told himself. Jumping off the ground and catching the branch with his spare arm, he kicked off from the tree's trunk and flipped himself onto the branch. His breath left him in a sharp exhale and he leaned against the trunk, dangling a leg. The adrenaline was thundering through his veins and he took a few deep breaths to calm himself. The coffee was still safe in its cup; the force of the flip was too rapid for more than a few drops to escape. He took another sip of the dreadful stuff and settled comfortably into the tree. He thought about Izzy's question, he didn't want to talk about his past that he was damn sure about; he didn't know what he was going to do in the future... but the present? He didn't know much about that either, he hadn't attended Foresta that long and he never had time to indulge in any hobbies and interests. He sighed and glanced down to the ground where Izzy was propped up on her elbows emptying the sugar and milk into her coffee. Jace made a face, disgusted by the tainted coffee. "Present" he finally said, deciding "let’s start with your choices in coffee..."
