Nathan stretched his wings casually as he walked out onto the roof of the Academy. He looked around at the small clusters of students with a smile on his face. They seemed to pay him no mind, so he gladly walked over to a tower and jumped, propelling himself with his wings, and landed on a flat area.
Here, he dropped his backpack and looked out at the scenery. It would have been a great subject to sketch, but Nathan knew he had to take care of his daily training.
So Nathan pulled off his shirt and closed his eyes, starting to regulate his breathing. And as a new twist, he left his wings extended, flapping them slowly with each breath.
The movements he made were similar to those of Tai Chi, but having done both that and Shaolin, which is what he was doing now, he could see all the differences. He finished the Calling of the Tiger stance quickly, as usual, and slowed down for the Mountain Press.
He got a few strange looks as he moved slowly with bursts of speed on every seventh strike, but he payed no attention to them and continued to the next stance. "Self control," he told himself inwardly, "Your power is with you to help you do good. Do not let something as insignificant as another person's fear change that."

Keiran entered the roof looking for a place to relax. He had just arrived at the school a while ago. He had wandered around looking at the castle. He wanted to see what the school looked and learn his surroundings. Some hiding places would be an advantage if he ever needed to use some. After some time he became uncomfortable seeing all these new people around him. He wanted to make his way to some open space to calm down. He looked at they sky and smiled. He liked looking at the sky, it was open and wide. He hugged teddy as he calmed down.
After calming down he looked around the roof to see what one could see. He noticed a person performing something he had never seen. He watched in awe as the person continued. He thought it was amazing and wondered what he was doing. He held up teddy to look at the person"Look Teddy, isn't it amazing. I've never seen anything like this. I wonder what it is for?"
He then noticed the unique features of the person he was looking at. He had never need a person with wings before and he was wondering if they worked like wings on a bird. Would they allow him to fly or were they just some part of his body. He hugged Teddy even tighter as he thought these thoughts.

(OOC: Looks like we have a bear fest! >D)
“…Know that butterflies taste with their feet?” The first two words of his sentence weren’t heard by the other students already sitting on the roof; though most of them could tell, just by the ‘did you know?’ fact, that Ed had stumbled onto the roof of Foresta Academy, his teddy bear named Digger in his arm. Of course, most students would ignore him all the same.
Ed paused, as if he were listening to the cream-coloured bear. “No. She never told me about butterflies.” The boy said bluntly to the toy. He was referring to his mother, which was the reason Ed was here on the roof. It was court order that he had to see Azmythera at least twice a week, much to his dissatisfaction.
He quickly looked left to right, searching for things he could associate with his mother; a spot of green or bronze, a pair of butterfly wings, maybe even her own teddy bear… …No sign of her anywhere. Though, he did see a pair of wings; wings that were certainly not butterfly wings, but a different pair of wings that belonged to a boy who was doing something that looked like a more aggressive version of the odd hippy stuff Azmythera did in her office, a few weeks ago when Ed had to visit her.
He also spotted another teddy bear; though it was brown, and worn, unlike his mother’s golden-white bear. The brown bear was being hugged to what could have been the point of suffocation by another, younger-looking boy, who reminded Ed of himself.
Usually, when his mother didn’t get to the roof on time, Ed would leave and come back in five minutes. But, these two boys interested him. So, being himself, Ed stayed. “Did you know it is impossible to lick your elbow, Digger.” He said to the stuffed bear. It remained silent, keeping its stare straight ahead, as always. “Seventy-five percent of people who hear that try to lick their elbow.” Ed looked at the bear accusingly, like it had the power to lick its synthetic-fur-covered elbow.

"Do think we can closer Teddy? It's no that far away from us," Keiran asked looking at the bear. After a few moments of silence he nodded and frowned. "You're right, without mother's help we won't make the jump. And I don't think she would like us summoning her just to get from one part of the roof to the other."
He released his hold on Teddy and held him only by one hand. He forgot that he had to be careful with his bear. His father was not around to mend Teddy if he were to get hurt here. He took a deep breath and sighed. He had enough fresh air for the time being. He turned around and looked for something to do on the roof. He was not expecting much since he was on the roof. He paused and looked at the bear as if it was suggesting something.
"It's too crowded right now to write. What if someone reads what I am writing. I don't want them to read my stories. You know that. Not even father was allowed," He looked at Teddy and sighed. Why would Teddy suggest that at this time. He knew that he hated doing such things in public. He walked towards the door he had entered the roof from. As he walked he accidentally bumped into Ed and dropped Teddy.
"So...sor...sorry," Keiran managed to say as he realized that Teddy was no longer in his hand. He bent down to pick up his bear. He reached for the bear and grabbed his arm.

"Mipp!" squeaked Vinny as she uselessly flailed her legs.
She found herself hanging from the roof instead of standing atop it like she had originally planned, but that’s what happens when you're a complete n00b with your powers and you attempt a maneuver as daring as flight. While trying to fake flying by levitating herself via the boots she was wearing, she’d caught a bump in her magic and sent herself soaring forward and just short of the roof. She scrambled for something to grab and latched onto the gutters in the just in time. Her fingers quivered under her weight as she tried to desperately pull herself onto the roof without using her powers again. Adrenaline surged through her blood as her palms began to form a cold sweat; she wasn’t going to fall no matter what.
"Goddamnit," she chuckled shakily to herself once she realized that she had no other choice other then to use her magic, "just one last little bit of power and I'll be safe from death..."
Focusing her absolute hardest (at least as hard as she could whilst swinging from the roof of a mansion-sized academy), Vinny tried to levitate her boots one last time. She slowly began to rise upwards.
'Carefully, slo-owly...' she thought to herself.
Then suddenly she felt herself shoot forward at a surprising speed. Her hands were snatched from the roof and immediately braced out in front of her as she sealed her eyes shut and tensed against the impact. She bounced on the smooth surface of the roof and slid for a few inches before stopping face-up. She peeled open her eyes and heaved a shaky breath of relief.
"Hah," she giggled, "I win!"
She was just about to sit up when suddenly a shirt-less boy with wings whipped one of his black-feathered limbs swiftly over her figure, then darted up into a second movement. A wash of wind introduced each of his new actions which would have given any half-way coordinated person enough time to move out of the way, but Vinny was far from coordinated (as demonstrated about ten seconds ago.) She stumbled to her feet and leapt away from his wing just in time, but crashed directly into the boy himself. Brilliant fail.
[Sorry, not my best post in the world]

In the corner of his eye, a weirdly-dressed girl bumped into the dragon-like boy. He silently raised an eyebrow. And then the other kid bumped into him.
If it weren’t for the sticky pads on his feet, Ed might of fallen over and dropped his own bear, just like the younger boy, who was now picking up the worn out, cuddly toy. But, he didn’t. Ed stood still as he possibly could without tensing up. A couple of seconds passed. His slow mind didn’t realize what had happened until he heard the younger boy speak to him.
“So-Sor-Sorry.”
He looked up. The boy had looked younger when he was sitting down, but standing so close to him made Ed realize he was the shorter one. Why was the boy so nervous? Why did he have a bear, like him? Why was he leaving? Question after question swamped his head.
“It is okay, you did not disturb me.”
Ed stared at the boy in the same creepy way he used when he stared at everything else. His eyes moved from the clean, cream-coloured bear to the shabby, brown bear. The brown bear looked more worn out close up; its leg had been sewn back on. He looked back at his own toy. Then, he shifted his stare back to the black-haired boy.

Keiran stood up with his bear safe in his arms. He looked at teddy to see if there was anything wrong with Teddy. There was nothing wrong with him. He felt much calmer now that he was holding his bear. Until he saw the boy looking at him. He took a step back and then realized that this boy was not one of his brothers. He would not get locked up in that room here. Well at least that was what his father told him when he was leaving home.
"That's good. I'm glad about that." He was not sure how he should react. They only people he had talked to in the last few years was his brothers and father. He then realized that the boy in front of him also had a bear with him. It was nothing like his bear. This one looked cleaner then his and had never was torn into two pieces. He looked at Teddy and then remembered that the boy was still in front of him.
"I'm Keiran and this is Teddy," he said as he pointed to his bear. He had forgotten that it was rude not to introduce oneself when talking to another person. He was still nervous, but Teddy was there to calm him down. He brought his bear closer to him making sure he would not fall on the ground again. He did not look at the boy in the eyes, it made him feel more uncomfortable.

“I’m Keiran and this is Teddy.”
At least now Ed knew his name. Keiran; it didn’t sound common. But neither was his name; Ed was usually short for something, but his first name was Ed. Just Ed. His dad liked short names.
“He says “hi, it’s nice to meet you”,” he said, gesturing to the bear. “His name is Digger. I am Ed.”
Keiran was being awfully polite, compared to Ed, who was just plain awful. Yet, he was still nervous. Ed was intrigued. Maybe he was bad at socializing, just like him. How could it be possible for someone to be so similar to him? Was that even possible? More questions popped up in his mind…
…But first, why did he have a bear too? He thought about Digger. The reason for him was…well, he always had Digger. It was just the way things went. He tried to imagine why Keiran would have a bear as well. The only other person who had a bear was his mother, and Ed thought she was crazy.
“Digger says he likes Teddy. He wants to know why you have a teddy bear. I want to know, too.”

“Digger says he likes Teddy. He wants to know why you have a teddy bear. I want to know, too.”
Keiran looked at Teddy and nodded. "Teddy likes Digger as well. He is my friend, we do everything together. Isn't that what friends are suppose to do?" He wanted to say that his bear was the only one he could play with since he was not allowed to have any friends when he was at home, but he reconsidered. He did not want others to think that there was something wrong with him because he was not allowed to leave his house when he was at home. Some people could find that strange and start asking more questions about it.
Keiran was feeling less nervous by the minute. Ed did not look like he was going to do anything bad to him and he seemed more curious then anything else. He wondered if it would be alright to ask a question in return. He looked at Teddy as if waiting for approval to ask a question. After a few seconds he smiled as if the bear has actually told him what question to ask.
"Teddy was wondering why you have a bear."

((I can't really expect you to know much about Nathan/Shaolin, but I have this urge to post the following:))
A lot of things went through Nathan's mind when he started to fall. First of all, Why was this girl dodging around feathered wings? My wings... aren't-- hang on! Why was she dodging around my wings in the first place? They weren't really movi-- is she dizzy?... Huh. There's the roof. I think I can think really fast. I mean, it's not like we've fallen that far... Oh, dang, only a few more inches... Well, better take care of that.
Nathan whipped around so that he could pull the girl to his chest and extended his tail, shoving both of them back into a vertical position.
He let go of her very slowly so she wouldn't fall again, and brushed himself off. Why am I doing that? It's not like we actually landed or anything...
"So, uh... Are you alright?"
((Don't worry. I'm working on a picture of him, so you'll have something to go by. XD))

(Sorry! xD I saw wings, I assumed, I failed. I also combined your post with another post and created some absurd scene in my head. I should probably avoid posting late at night from now on...)
A sudden stillness hit Vinny so hard that she almost fell over again. Someone was bracing her shoulders against their own body in an effort to keep her standing. She gathered herself as quickly as she could and the person released her slowly.
"Oh... I'm fine," Vinny said, then she laughed at herself, "I'm just not really used to using my powers... so I freaked out a little bit or something,"

((What other post was that? O.o))
Nathan had a quick flashback. The sound of people screaming, blood hitting his face... he shook his head.
"Er... no problem. I... still have problems with that sometimes, too."
Moving the girl to a flat section of the roof less than a foot away, Nathan let go and backed up, holding out his hand. "I'm Nathan, one of those people with the crazy powers." He said the last part with a giant grin on his face.

Ed could see Keiran was less nervous than before. Why? All he was doing was asking questions. I mean…Digger was asking them…Yes…Digger…
“Teddy likes Digger as well. He is my friend, we do everything together. Isn't that what friends are suppose to do?”
Well, yes. But the answers gave Ed more questions to ask. Why the bear, and not a real person? He must be bad at socializing. But he seemed to be coping to Ed quite well, if he was that bad at socializing, Keiran wouldn’t have stopped to talk. Right?
"Teddy was wondering why you have a bear."
“Well um…” Ed said, not knowing what to say for the first time in a while. “It is nice to have someone to talk to. And he is interesting.”
He looked down at Digger, who did nothing except stare into space.
“Stop licking your elbow. I told you it was not possible.”
(Ugh, this post is too short! By the way, Renown - awesome signature.)

Keiran smiled at Ed and his bear. They looked like they were having fun. He thought of how much fun he had had with Teddy when he was alone. If it was not for Teddy he might have lost his mind in that room. There was not much to do in a small empty room. It was still a terrible experience.
"Why don't you let him try. It will not cause any harm. It reminds me when Teddy thought he could fly. For three days he tried to convince me that he could spout wings and fly." He remembered that event well. It was after the first time he summoned a bird and said that he wished to fly. Teddy tried convince him he could fly. It was probably an attempt to make him jealous. It did not work out as the bear had planned.
He looked at Teddy still with the smile. He had been the victor. "I won in the end. He did not sprout wings and fly away." He had thrown Teddy in the air just to made him feel better, but he had no plans to do such a thing on the roof. He might not catch him and he could fall off the roof.
