As history has proven time and time again, technological advances have came from the result of human laziness, the desire to finish a job much quicker and with less energy, and to make life easier for humans alike. Or course, genius strikes at those who wishes to make life easier mostly for themselves, and of course, in Dorm Room 534, one certain witch was actually doing something productive for once. Not lazing about in her bed or having her face stuck on a computer screen, but carrying out an actual job. A selfish job for herself, yes, but a job nonetheless.
Mona was busy making various noises on her side of the room, with clanks, clinks, clunks, and clacks coming from all sorts of tools, sparks, and magic all assembling her newest invention. Bits of metal pieces and parts were floating all around Mona as she put together an odd machine. As she was looking at a recently-drawn piece of notebook paper, she waved her finger around, directing where which part goes where. She took a sip out of a Pepsi can without shifting her gaze away. "Hm... no no no, this needs to be here..." she mumbled to herself.
The object that is being assembled in question is what appears to be a cat if its insides were made out of mechanical parts. While the metal plates were nearing completion, Mona placed the paper on her desk and wrote, "Mobile Automatron Pet Apparatus" below on what appears to be a blueprint of the invention in question. The witch spun her office chair to her contraption which was near completion. All she needs to do is to adjust some screws and add in the remaining parts and soon she'll have her newest invention ready for a test fire. She took another sip from her Pepsi can as she magical fitted the parts inside.

Delia had just finished with one of her classes when the young girl was making her way back toward her dorm room. With her bow and arrows slung over one shoulder, the young girl was dressed in a deep royal purple casual dress paired off with black leggings. It had been a relatively easy day for her, she hadn't run into anyone too threatening and classes seemed to breeze by.
Opening up the door to her dorm room, Delia eyes widened slightly as she spotted the chaos over on her dorm mate's side of the room. Choosing to stay silent, the teenager went over to her side of the room - which was relatively plain with a few girlish things here and there.
She had interacted with Mona a few times before, though not nearly enough for them to be considered close friends... at least not yet. It was always nerve wracking trying to get to know a new person, and Delia found that Mona was so much better at starting the conversation than she was.

The witch heard the door open behind her, among the ruckus. She only did a quick glance to see Delia coming in from the hall, probably back from one of her classes. Giving only a tiny sniff as a greeting, she immediately turned her head back to her invention. Finishing her can, she shook it a few times to check if there’s any more left, then threw it into the air as it condenses into extra, small parts. Kicking back, she rolled away from her desk as the final additions of her newest creation were fitting themselves into place. Mona whirled her chair to her closet, avoiding all the plastic bags of junk and garbage she piled up during the last few months. She opened her closet to reveal a refrigerator, which was around the size of the closet itself, unlike the tiny freezer that is already in the room. Reaching in, she grabbed another drink and popped it open.
Besides converting her closet into a refrigerator, Mona’s inventions could be seen on her side of the room, which usually falls into the category of her self-convenience. Her rolling chair is remade into a vehicle, like that of a wheelchair, just with only four tiny wheels and the ability to lean back in comfort. All she has to do is to move her lever and press some buttons on a panel to get it working. Another invention is a small temperature adjuster, which was a hexagonal box that she has on top of her closet, where she can change set the temperature exactly where she wants it to, and much more convenient than the ACs they have around the academy. There’s also the bed that is basically a kitchen underneath, the adjustable lights and sound system on the ceiling, and the most important of all, her custom-built computer, which takes up 70 percent of Mona’s day.
While she realized that the academy might not approve of the ease-of-life changes to her dorm, it was well worth the risk to have a comfortable life in her room, while trying to stay indoors as much as possible. Though, ever since Delia moved in to her dorm, or their dorm, it complicated things. Besides for some periods of time, Mona has spent most of her life living alone, as in having her own room. She didn’t need to worry about making noise, having little space, or being aware of the people around her. But now she was feeling cramped with the addition of her roommate. When she decided to mess around with her around the time they first met, the implications of a shared room didn’t hit her until she noticed the invisible line in the middle of the room, separating cutting the room in half. And she thought having a bath installed on the other side of the room would be perfect, too bad that’s not going to happen anymore!
Still, there were some benefits to her that Mona found out after. That is, she keeps her side clean and somehow shot one of people that wronged the witch by coincidence. She thought about getting to know her pal, but there’s all the baggage with cringing at all the normie stuff that friends usually do. Also, there’s a chance of conflict, which Mona has been trying to avoid ever since she got beat up two times already, and wanted to keep it at that. The only actual conversations they had together, besides their first meeting, was when Delia found her almost freezing to death, and the time Mona ask her if she wanted to order some takeout that was having a sale.
Still, she thought it didn’t hurt to try, she guessed. She looked at Delia and asked, “Hey, here’s a drink on me.” She didn’t wait for a response as she took an extra can and tossed it to her roommate. Closing her closet refrigerator, she made her chair roll back to her desk, with the very last screw on her invention screwing into place.
