Got a problem?
Let's talk.
That's it.
As the Admin in charge of solving player disputes, I'd rather see myself as a mediator, to provide a more objective voice of reason between two arguing parties. This means that I am not a messenger. Now, if you have a concern, you're more than welcome to bring it to my attention, but remember one simple thing: the first order of business is determining if you tried to resolve it on your own.
So, yes. I can be consulted for clarification on the rules. I will definitely step in if there is volatility between members. If you have problems with someone on the site, I would prefer that you come to me than not. I want civil conversations, so if you feel that that might not be possible, contact me.
Just remember, we are a growing community and we prefer to promote openness and friendly conversation within it. Accusations, misunderstandings, gossip, and the like can breed distrust and uncertainty into the atmosphere of any group. If there is tension, people need to lay out their issues with each other and come to mutual understanding. It might just be a misconception on one person's part, which can be explained from the alternative perspective if you only think to ask.
If you want to gripe, but refuse to talk to the other individual or even register a formal complaint, we have a problem.
Now, I have some things I want to make note of for your benefit and my own. If another admin redirects your complaints to me, I'm going to treat it like they told me nothing of the situation. It is up to you to inform me of the situation, as you see it.
Make note of witnesses. Keep your logs. Explain what you need to.
The more information I can review the better I can understand the situation myself, as I will not be taking 'word of mouth' or 'he said she said' as hard evidence.
You have an issue with another member's behavior?
Worried they're power-playing? Calling you names?
Address it. Talk to them. This should not be a fight.
Still issues? Can't resolve viewpoints? Won't see reason?
Drag me right into it! Bring evidence, if you can.
We'll go from there.
