Basically an excuse for me to cause a little drama and action in the process of killing off my character Zoe.
So basically the parts of Tale of Two Cities I'm borrowing for this plot are the thematic ideas of violence and sacrifice. I was thinking someone would attempt to murder another character and Zoe, with her power to heal any wound by recreating it on herself, would step in and sacrifice her own life to save them. Wow! Drama! (If there's romance involved I can even quote TOTC directly!)
There aren't too many characters needed for this plot, mainly a killer, a victim, and Zoe, but some side characters might make it more interesting. Suggest additional ideas, edits to the plot, and things side characters could do?

I am hereby offering my services of the Antient towards inducing life harming pain upon a select individual. IMMOLATION!
That might require a little setup to get Adrian in the right place, right time, or someone else near him at the wrong moment. But not overly complicated other than keeping those effective interlopers at bay.

I offer up Miller for this plotline considering that one, it would be more impactful if the person involved was someone that Zoe already knew (not to mention that their previous discussions of the worth of human life would be a good call back), and two there is existing tension between Miller and Constantine that would work decently as the center point of a Tale of Two Cities type of plot (though I’m in no way pressuring Seren to use this plot now, Miller has other enemies I could explore in this plotline if she chooses not to use that here). That being said, I dunno if Miller or Constantine would come to the point of killing each other, so the insertion of Antient would be needed.
I don’t quite know how to rope Antient into the mix, but as we have discussed, Sandra is a possible candidate to unleash that. Scribe and I would have to discuss more on that I suppose considering that winter limits where Sandra can go.
As for who should be on the brink of death for Zoe to save, Miller could also be a viable option since he would be all self-sacrificial and Zoe dying for him would put even more grief on him. Miller is quickly becoming a Jenga tower of grief.

Marina can probably lure anyone anywhere near water. I'm sure I could come up with a reason to make her hate Miller (or whoever the victim is) enough to lure the Antient to his location. Or she would probably do it if some pretty boy bribed her into it. Or you know, out of a pure enjoyment of death. heh.

Constantine would be willing to really try and hurt Miller, as for killing him? It could be an accident (or Constantine could be the one getting hurt/killed for Zoe to fix up).

If this does happen, I demand Zoe's body for Lockwood. If anything, I nominate him being at the scene where it happens.

I dunno if Marina's luring would work on Antient considering that he's an inhuman fire demon, though that's more so Scribe place to say, I suppose.
With the Con vs Miller thing though, I was more so thinking that that would be the initial conflict and then Antient comes in and pushes it another step further, hence people dyin'.

If Adrian is required to 'channel' the Antient's power (is that the right term?) then Marina could lure him to the right location. Marina's power should work on anyone without special powers to block out powers that affect the mind, though, most likely including the Antient. And if he has some special reason to want someone dead I'm sure Marina would assist him with enough bribery.

Hm. Hmmm. Sandra would make a really good catalyst for Adrian to come across, create the initial spark on that end to spawn the Antient. Meanwhile, potentially, Constantine and Miller are getting in each other's business. Two interactions on a collision course.
Adrian has no 'control' over the Antient once it's been spawned. It'll run its course until exhaustion or until it's extinguished. Even knocking Adrian unconscious wouldn't help. Except to prevent it from being set loose to begin with.
As for Marina. That depends on if you feel that her Siren Song would be powerful enough to affect an elemental entity composed of nothing more than fire. The Antient is sentient, after all. A conscious magical flame of doom; so, it is possible.

Yeah, but with Sandra it still comes down to a thing of location and I dunno why she would be hanging around Adrian to begin with. In order for a lot of this to work, there’s quite a bit of set up that we’d need to do. It just mostly comes down to location, like where this confrontation between Con and Miller happens and where Adrian and Sandra cross paths.
If it’s in a near enough vicinity, there might not be much need for Marina anyway, unless she’s somehow involved with either of the two initial meetings, like leading Adrian to Sandra (or just to an open flame because it’ll still have the same results regardless, unless she’s got beef with Sandra and wants to try to kill her). Actually, thinking about it, so long as Marina gets the information about Adrian’s power (if anyone knows anything about it anyway), all we would really need is a target and an open flame and then Antient rampages onto the scene of Miller v Con (and I suppose Zoe is just somehow wrapped within this).

If Antient goes rampaging then we need some way to make him stop in the end. I'm guessing only any sort of water power would be able to help this.

Maybe Marina could do that; luring him into a lake would probably be effective.

Seren trying to put a damper on my fun. The Antient does have a semi-physical core the size of a baseball. Water would be the safest option, but technically Miller could blade-arm the thing if he were willing to risk burn wounds. Adrian certainly isn't likely to try to punch it or anything, after all.

Well, that would mean that Miller would actually have to fight something and imply that he would think that hitting its core would actually do anything, both of which seem unlikely, but if need be that could work. It would just be a matter of pointing that out to him and convincing him to do anything other than running away with his tail between his legs. (Although the more I think of this the more I like the idea, since this could also be how he gets injured to near death).
As for taking down Antient, if it’s near enough school property we do have three different campus police to deal with it if he gets too out of hand.
If Marina is the one who is going to be luring him in, why would she extinguish him afterwards? I mean, it could make sense if she was trying to save face and avoid having blame being stuck on her.

I was honestly just thinking of another way to include another one of my characters (Stella). But I'd be hard pressed to give her enough power to use any sort of water to injure Antient in anyway. Just because she has like no practice with it at all. OH WELL >_<
