( WORDS ) 355 ( TAGGED ) @silas & Eris ( MUSE ) here To be quite honest, Iris was fatigued after having assisted Silas all the way to the nurse's office. She could hardly consider herself strong other than the fact that she could run for fairly long distances, but supporting half of her friend's body weight all the way from the meadow was quite difficult for her. The only thing keeping her from falling over on the spot was that he could be in deep trouble if she was to release him, and what type of companion would she be if she let him fall? Her desire to receive that reassurance that she was doing the right thing in relationships was something that kept her able to maintain them. Without that confirmation, she might not do anything at all, in fear of upsetting someone. Exhaling heavily as they stepped through the doors, she found her entire body trembling with effort, but there was no way she was going to let down her companion, not after they'd come all this way. Sure, it felt as though her lungs were burning to a crisp and she was unsure of how much longer her legs were going to last, but her determination to aid Silas overpowered everything else.
The instant she was able to spot a suitable bed-like structure for him, she began to guide the young man towards it without a moment's hesitation. "P-Please, s-sit," she urged him in a breathy voice, as well as turning towards the nurse, "H-He's.. I-I'm not sure wh-what's wrong w-with h-him, e-exactly, b-but he needs h-help.." She felt her arms shakily clutch the side of the wall she was standing beside to catch her breath and regain her strength. Now, she'd certainly tested her body's limits with this endeavor, but she refused to regret her decision. Silas could be fatally injured in some way or another from either using his ability or some other, mysterious means. Once she'd regained some of her composure, she shakily shifted herself to a standing position and turned towards the blonde-haired boy. Her voice trembled with concern as her eyes surveyed him, "A-Are you g-going to b-be okay?" I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW WHO I AM |

Silas had known that he was weak, but he just hadn't realized how bad it was until Iris had helped him stand up. She had been pretty kind about it, encouraging him whenever his step faltered. The entire walk his nose had bled, his head had ached, his vision was cloudy and he had leaned on her pretty much the whole time. Other than enjoying being so close to her, he had felt miserable. So much for being the strong one in the tough situation.
As she half dragged him through the hallway, he prepared to face the nurse and whatever news she had to bring. Silas turned to Iris as she opened the door, her face was red and sweat had formed on her brow. He happily fell onto the bed and snagged the closest tissues he could find and replaced the piece of paper that he had been using. Silas watched Iris fret and shake, but when she turned to him and asked him if he would be alright, he wasn't sure what to say at first. "Y-you don't worry about me. I'll be fine." He smiled reassuringly, still nervous about what the nurse was going to tell him. But after being weak all the way here, he knew that he wanted to be strong for Iris in here no matter what the news that came was.

Eris had spent quite an extensive amount of time today using his power. He had somehow managed to have Gaia, Athena and Poseidon out all at the same time - that was until Leto had forced her way out which in the end caused all of the souls to be forced back into Eris's ring at the same time. He had in truth really wanted to try today, despite how difficult both Erebus and Leto were being. Thanks to the effort that he had taken for his power though, Eris had decided to visit the nurses office to lay down in one of the beds for a few minutes to rest his mind. The nurse had ended up directing him toward a bed in the back that had a privacy curtain that Eris took advantage of.
Only a few minutes into resting his eyes though, Eris started to hear voices that thankfully wasn't coming from his own mind for once. Instead, one feminine familiar voice really caught his attention along with a somewhat deeper masculine voice. Immediately the young man sat up in his bed, hesitating on whether or not he should open the curtain and talk to Iris and whoever she was with. Was it Silas? Or was she making friends with other guys as well? Would it even make sense for him to try and talk to her in the first place? It wasn't like she was going to shun him away from her, in fact she'd probably introduce him to whatever person she was with. So many scenarios were going through his head at this point that Eris was having trouble even attempting to move his body. In truth, nothing worse could happen compared to what he had been through earlier today and with the souls. When they had all been forced back into the ring, which meant back into his mind - it felt like his whole body had shut down for a split second - almost like it had been when he had gotten the ring in the first place.
Eris resisted the urge to sigh then, for once going back to his old ways and getting so stuck in his thoughts that he was finding himself unable to take any actions. Eris, she'll be happy to see you. It makes no sense to just sit here and eavesdrop. Eris shook his head, keeping his lips shut and actually responding the soul inside his own mind for once. I don't want to know who she's with. A sharp laugh echoed through his mind then, which caused Eris to wince briefly. Of course you wouldn't want to know, you're just being a pansy about it.
[ooc; continue on accordingly, Eris is just having a little inner conflict.]

( WORDS ) 477 ( TAGGED ) @silas & Eris ( MUSE ) here Oblivious to the conflict Eris was experiencing, the young woman smiled weakly in Silas's direction. He couldn't honestly think that he was all right, but if it was for the sake of pride or something of the sort, she wasn't going to take that away from him. Her body, however, wasn't giving her the liberty of being able to stand so easily after the taxing endeavor, and she found herself kneeling on the floor as she rested her arms upon the bed. Inhaling and exhaling rapidly, she was only faintly aware of the nurse's approaching footsteps behind her, and couldn't muster up the strength or will to remove herself to appear more presentable. She wasn't interested in receiving any treatment herself, and if she was offered any, she'd simply urge the person to assist her friend before doing anything else.
"What seems to be the problem?" she heard a new voice ask, though the young woman knew she was fading in and out of focus. Hauling her body to a trembling stand, she forced her gaze to remain steady upon her blonde-haired friend. There was no way that she was going to faint with him present, it would just cause too much commotion. Silas had enough to worry about considering the way he leaned so heavily on her as they moved, so adding to that is exactly what she was going to try and avoid. Even now that she was standing, her condition felt marginally more stable, and the fear of falling unconscious without her being able to do anything had dissolved almost completely. She carefully positioned herself at Silas's side then, hesitant to grasp his hand in case that wasn't the type of comfort he wanted. Sometimes, people tended to be more comfortable when others spoke soothingly, but one could only guess if a stuttering girl's breathy statements would ever be considered 'calming'. Not wanting him to overexert himself, she decided to speak on behalf of her fatigued companion, "M-My friend S-Silas, h-he.. U-Um.. After u-using h-his ability t-to create i-illusions, h-his nose st-started to bleed, a-and.. H-He stumbled d-down a l-little bit.." Immediately after she'd spoken, Iris bit her lip apprehensively, as if she was expecting to be reprimanded from either party for speaking out of turn. It was incredibly unlike her to speak without being cordially addressed first, but if this was going to save Silas's energy, it was all worth it.
After speaking, she turned towards Silas a bit to place her hand reassuringly onto his shoulder. It was feather-light and somewhat shaky, but for some reason, the young woman felt marginally better engaging in this physical contact than grasping his hand as she had before. "I-It's okay," she murmured encouragingly with a small yet genuine smile of her own, hoping that the small words could have some sort of effect on him.

Silas's head now rested on his hands, too tired to even hold his head up. Yet with the sound of a new voice, he knew that he would have to speak to the nurse sooner or later, Iris didn't know everything. He lifted his head slowly and listened to Iris's voice. He was some what glad that she was here, even though it looked like the trip to the nurse's office took a toll on her as well. Silas felt her hand rest upon his back lightly, the feeling sent chills down his spine the way that good music gives you goosebumps. And for a moment, he felt strong enough to talk to the nurse even with Iris there to hear everything.
The nurse started with the simple stuff; name, age, power. "How long have you been like this?", "What kinds of things happen?" and "When did these symptoms start to show up?" While these were relatively simple questions to answer, Silas had begun to feel the nervousness creep in again and his answers became stalled. "I've, ah, been like this for a little over a month. Gets worse when I use my powers... don't always have control over them lately." The nurse simply nodded and turned to her computer to do whatever nurses do. His eyes glanced over at Iris who still didn't look too good and he tried to throw a smile in her direction. While it sucked being sick, it was even worse that he had put Iris through that. Silas couldn't help but feel responsible for her condition.
The nurse slid away from the computer and eyed Iris before she began to speak, Silas felt his heart pounding as she spoke. "You've been using your powers too much and too often, you'll need bed rest and time without using your powers." His whole body shook with relief; he was going to be okay. The nurse walked over to the cabinets and started to pull out bottle after bottle of medicines that he was guessing were going to become part of his daily routine. Silas turned to Iris with a true smile across his lips, "Told you I was going to be okay."

Minutes passed as Eris continued to listen to what was going on, figuring out that Iris was indeed with Silas. Why did he feel so threatened by the guy in the first place? There was no real good reason for it since he had only met him once, but it seemed as if though he was the only other person that Iris ever mentioned to him besides Sandra. There is a possibility that they could just be normal friends. Eris shook his head then, resisting the urge to make any sort of noise. And what am I then?
Ask her, maybe she'll tell you.
Eris let his fingers wrap around one end of the privacy curtain then, moving it back in a swift motion and then standing up - acting as if he had just woken up and hadn't been awake already. He looked up then, realizing that Iris was on the ground and Silas was on the bed. What had happened to her? It seemed as if though Silas was the only one that had been feeling unwell. Before he could voice his concern for Iris though, the nurse seemed to be the first to notice him and asked him if he was feeling better now. "I'm fine, thank you for letting me rest here." Eris's eyes transitioned to Iris once more, a tiny bit of concern dancing across his face. "What are you doing here, Iris? Are you okay?" It was obvious to any casual observer too that Eris was way more concerned about Iris's well-being than he was with Silas's. In fact, the young man acted as if the other boy wasn't even in the room for the time being. "You didn't hurt yourself or anything like that did you?"

( WORDS ) 514 ( TAGGED ) @silas & Eris ( MUSE ) here As the nurse spoke, Iris couldn't help but feel a growing apprehension inside of her chest. What if Silas suddenly contracted some sort of illness, and that's why he was constantly filled with anxiety and dread? The thought of seeing her friend as handicapped as her caretaker currently was caused her heart to clench painfully in her chest, and without being cognizant of what she was doing, she gently squeezed his shoulder ever so slightly. There was no way she'd be able to handle two people she held dear to be hospitalized. However, as the nurse replied to him that he'd just need to take it easy, she exhaled with relief. "I-I suppose y-you d-did," she admitted with a weak smile, keeping her hand upon him in a subtle method of comfort, "I-I was a b-bit worried f-for a s-second.." Before she could say anything else, though, Eris stepped out from behind one of the privacy curtains.
The young woman blinked a couple of times to ensure that she hadn't been seeing things on account of her exhaustion, but as he spoke to thank the nurse, she knew that he was, in fact, present. Hauling herself to her feet, she shakily steadied herself as if to display that she was all right. However, she couldn't help but find it odd that Eris didn't inquire about Silas, who was the one receiving medical attention. A small frown briefly furrowed her brow, though she shook it off and promptly replied to her concerned friend, "I-I'm fine, r-really... S-Silas is th-the one y-you should b-be w-worried a-about.. I-I'm just a b-bit t-tired from h-helping him from th-the meadow t-to here.."
She nodded earnestly, before turning back towards her blonde-haired companion and seating herself at his side. This was both to act as a perpetual source of support for him and to make sure that her own strength was maintained. Even getting up to reassure Eris was a chore for her at this point, and she didn't want to risk her own health when it was so weak already. She placed her hand atop Silas's shoulder once more, making sure to place as little pressure as physically possible as she ventured to speak, "D-Do you n-need to r-rest o-or something? Th-The nurse d-did say th-that you sh-should t-take it e-easy, and I-I don't w-want to k-keep y-you up o-or anything.. O-Or maybe y-you'd like t-to go b-back to y-your d-dorm once y-you receive y-your medicine? I-If you th-think you're w-well enough, a-and I-I wouldn't m-mind h-helping you i-if you f-felt like y-you needed i-it or something.." The last thing she wished for was to bring discomfort to him, and Iris was willing to do nearly anything for a friend. Her offer was unnecessarily long, though it conveyed the message that she intended to assist Silas in any way she could. She glanced at Eris, murmuring to him as well, "A-Are you all r-right, E-Eris? I-I hope y-you're n-not sick a-again or a-anything.." Now, she tried to equally divide her attention between the two males, worry creasing her brows. I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW WHO I AM |

Silas felt a comforting pressure on his shoulder, glancing at Iris he couldn't help but smile again. The smile disappeared as soon as he heard a strikingly familiar voice appear right next to where he was seated; Eris. Silas turned towards him and watched as he completely ignored him, happily taking the hint that Eris didn't care about him. What stung was how he directed his concern towards Iris, Silas felt his mind conjuring up dozens of things he could create to scare the man but he didn't want to do such things in front of Iris.
Silas felt her hand on his shoulder again and his anger diminished. Sighing, he looked to the nurse who was handing him bottle after bottle of medication that he would need to take, each with times to be taken and which ones to take first and never last. He stared at her blankly for a moment before she gave up and wrote it all down. Without moving he asked, "What brings you here today, Eris?"

It was only until Iris mentioned Silas to him that the young man turned his eyes upon the other boy and even if he wasn't obviously trying to glare at him, it seemed as though Eris had a natural glowering look toward Silas. "You shouldn't have over exerted yourself like that," Eris said to the girl with ease - becoming briefly uncomfortable as he realized Erebus was starting to laugh. Perfect, next tell this Silas dude that he shouldn't have let her help him in the first place. After that, make sure to add on that he's weak for accepting help from Iris in the first place. It was the first time that Erebus actually seemed excited at anything that Eris had been doing for awhile, was this the consequence of actually feeling negative emotions?
The question directed toward him from Silas went ignored for a few seconds until the young man finally looked toward the other male, "Sleeping." He said simply, frowning as Iris started to offer to help Silas back to his dorm. "Iris, don't worry about that. If he needs help back to his dorm, I'll help him." There was a collection of laughter in his head then, that caused the young man to shift uncomfortably in his shoes. Help your enemy? Help the guy trying to get Iris? Wow, you've reached a new level. Don't tease him, he has his reasons. I'll tease him all I want, Athena. You stay out of my conversations with him. I'm just trying to make sure you don't upset him.

( WORDS ) 427 ( TAGGED ) @silas & Eris ( MUSE ) here Even though Silas only seemed to be focused in on Eris, the young woman decided to keep her hand softly planted on his shoulder. It had to be providing some sort of comfort, right? Yet, as she did so, it seemed that Eris was determined to remain worried about her physical state. "I-I suppose," she answered, peering up at him with a slight frown, "B-But it's o-okay, if i-it's what h-helped Silas.." Why did he insist on worrying over her? In her opinion, Silas was far more deserving of such attention, but the words that Sandra spoke about their uncomfortable tension loomed over her head. Iris wasn't oblivious enough to not notice the type of emotion lacing behind her friend's gaze when it swiveled towards Silas. Had the boy said something to Eris that he didn't approve of? The thought concerned her, but it wasn't as if she was going to voice her worries. She was far too tentative to say anything in such a tensely charged moment.
It was at this point that Eris said something that completely went against all of the theories inside of the girl's head. Wait, now he wanted to help him? Perhaps Sandra had been wrong, and her intuition incorrect.. Or, maybe he just felt obliged to help, given Silas's condition. That thought seemed much more reasonable, and going off of this, she smiled in her friend's direction. "I-It's all right, r-really, y-you don't h-have to.. E-Especially if y-you were a-already here, i-it wouldn't b-be good if you w-worsened your c-condition or p-passed it along t-to Silas," she responded, making sure that her hand remained on the blonde-haired boy's shoulder. If Eris were to overexert himself by assisting Silas because of her reluctance to do it herself, she'd certainly feel responsible for his state. As if to press her point on a bit further in the most gentle manner she could manage, she continued, "B-Besides, I-I was w-wanting to go u-up to my d-dorm anyways, s-so I could j-just make a d-detour." Her eyes surveyed the nurse as she wrote down all of the necessary medicines and times to take them for Silas, wondering if he'd be all right taking so many types of medications at once. But, she had faith in both he and the nurse, so her worries were lifted almost immediately. Now, all she had to worry about was Silas and Eris themselves, really. "I-If you'd r-rather s-stay here, Silas, th-that'd be o-okay too," the young woman offered to him, turning towards her companion with an inquisitive expression. I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW WHO I AM |

Silas felt a glare coming from Eris, the awkward situation just kept getting worse. Now Eris was offering to help him back to his room, of course Silas got the feeling that Eris was just trying to look good in front of Iris. Just the thought of it mad Silas grow angry, he knew that a love triangle was there but he just didn't want to believe it. This was the kind of drama that he would typically avoid at all costs. But with her hand on his shoulder again those kinds of thoughts didn't last long in his mind.
Silas began to shove the medication into his pockets, looking at Iris he smiled again, hoping that when he spoke he wouldn't stutter again. "I'll be fine Iris, but I won't be going anywhere any time soon, so unless you want to carry me to my dorm then I'll just be staying here for while." His eyes were on Eris for the last part of what he said, praying that he wouldn't take up his idea and actually carry him to his room. What a sight they would make, surely something like that would start the rumor mill around here. His hand ran through his hair slowly, curious as to how Eris would respond.

At this point Eris felt as if Iris was making excuses, even though in actuality she was just trying to be nice to Silas. Hearing Leto chuckling in his mind, the young man frowned briefly before shaking his head. "I'm fine and please don't do anymore than you have too, Iris." Eris said to the girl then, starting to slowly inch his way over to the door. He wasn't sure how well he could handle the situation anymore and it looked as if the person that had been giving Silas some medicine was getting ready to shoo him out too.
It was when Silas suggested Iris carrying him once more that the young man felt a surge of emotion that caused him to almost throw open the door of the nurse's office. "I'm leaving now." He stated quite blandly, his voice not at all matching with his body language. He had to leave, there was really no other choice. That was the only possible way that this situation could improve. Without waiting for replies from anyone in the room, Eris stepped out in the hallway then and started to make his way back to his dorm room. He'd have to figure out something to clear his head at this point.

( WORDS ) 336 ( TAGGED ) @silas & Eris ( MUSE ) here As to be expected from the young woman, she was completely oblivious to the actual exchange between the young men. All she could feel was the tension, which was nearly palpable at this point. Had she upset them in some way? Perhaps she'd said something that made the atmosphere awkward and the intensity was just a natural response? Nonetheless, it seemed as though she was wrenched from her thoughts when Silas reassured her that he wouldn't be returning to his dorm anytime soon, and Eris stated that he was going to take his leave. Both were mildly surprising, but Iris wasn't going to be the one to question either of their decisions. "O-Oh, okay, th-that makes sense," she replied to her blonde-haired friend, nodding in understanding. The duo should've been implicitly aware by now that she was incapable of carrying anything remotely heavy based off of their laborious trek from the field.
Now addressing Eris, she nodded, furrowing her brow ever so slightly when he advised her against overexerting herself. He seemed awfully concerned about her when it was Silas who was unable to even transport himself to his dorm by himself. "U-Um.. I w-won't," the young woman answered distantly, unsure of how else she should've approached that question, "B-Bye.." Giving a feeble wave in his direction, she redirected her attentions back to her incapacitated companion, worry lining her gaze and expression. It felt almost immoral to leave her friend, even if there was going to be a medical professional looking after him. "U-Uh.. I-I have.. I-I have some t-time, I w-wouldn't mind s-staying with y-you if you.. N-Need me to o-or something, b-but if you n-need to sleep, y-you should d-do that," she offered meekly, shuffling her feet anxiously as she did so. It was audacious enough to make the offer, and now that it stood, she took a signature standing on the suggestion and began to reluctantly reel it back in, "R-Rest is a v-vital component to h-healing, s-so.. I-It's whatever y-you're comfortable w-with.."
