While the heat wasn’t quite comparable to most summer days at Foresta, the sun still scorched in the skies with the fury that most stars could muster. Nearly cloudless, but none that were present would offer too much resistance toward the sun. It was a near perfect day to set Lon’s plan in motion. Near perfect was worth the risk for him and his clones. Anything that went out of hand could quickly be solved by the disposable heat pads that each of them stuff their pockets with. He was going to prove that he could be a reliable hero for Foresta and he was determined to see to it that he got the praise he so rightfully deserved.
There was a set of bushes that hid both him and one of his other clones from plain view very well. In fact, the only way anybody would be able to spot them is if someone were approaching from the forest and such a happening seemed unlikely. His other four clones were divided amongst the rest of the courtyard blending in so perfectly that no one could possibly guess that their positions were a setup. All they had to do now was wait for the right moment.
The two Lons hidden within the brush began to setup shop. The true Lon slinked his backpack off and revealed the ancient looking tablet from it. The text written along the large brick was barely legible and anything that was clearly marked on it wasn’t English so they had no clue what it said. The words glowed a faint white as he placed it squarely on the ground. The two Lons starred at each other. “So how do you suppose we activated this thing last time?” one question. “I dunno, I think we stroked our finger on it a certain way then the fire lizard came out.” The other Lon starred at the tablet for a moment. “What do you think this one’s gonna be?” The true Lon gripped the stone block in his hands. “Hoping its ice!”
So far, it’s been a very strange collection of weeks for Esha. New school, new people, new continent. No stranger new people than Chase though. He was a curious case, and if it wasn’t for him Esha might not have taken an interest in a casual stroll around the forest. Their last encounter was a bit of a mess, nothing made that more evident than his apology letter. The letter was what she was thinking the most of. He stated that he’d be fine if they parted ways, which she was taking an interest in. She was way over her head with this one. She felt she should try out the dating game, but with a were-cat? No, besides she had a hard time accepting his apology and believing that everything was the beast’s fault. She knew that it was hard for him to control, but was she just going to accept that he could potentially get away with anything as long as he blamed the creature within him for his actions? No, it’d be best to move on before she got herself into real trouble. Speaking of which, on her way back to school grounds her ears began to pick up on what sounded like light bickering. She chose to investigate on this.
As Esha emerged from the treeline and caught the two boys as they yammered over their stone slate. She instantly recognised them as the boys that bumped into Chase just the other day, but she knew nothing about them outside of that. It was too late for her to stop their scheme either because as she walked in further onto the scene, the Lons finally figured out the combination. It caused the stale’s text to light up like some sort of neon sign and rattle as though it was experiencing high levels of tremors. Immediately the boy tossed the object out into the open field in front of the school. “What was that?!” she shrieked as she made her presence known.
The tablet’s entire surface quickly became engulfed in light as it shook on the ground violently until a flash of energy blinded all in a twenty meter radius. From afar it looked like some sort of explosion of pale plasma. Once the blinding flash evaporated into the sky, a colossal being took the place of the tiny tablet. It nearly equalled the size of a neighboring tree. The being itself was made entirely of ice just as the boys had estimated, though its body was foggy and hardly transparent. It had some sort of humanoid form, but did not resemble any human body type. Its legs were like giant spikey pillars without any feet to speak of, only a large surface area at the end of the leg. The body itself was bulky, like someone equipped a jagged and wonky glacier with limbs. Its arms were thinly until the forearm where it expanded out greatly and unlike the legs the arms resembled something more human, although it was missing a finger on each hand. It had a head, but it jutted out somewhere random on the torso since it was so misshapen which gave it a sort of hunchbacked look. The details on its face were difficult to make out considering the substance it was made of. All it did was stand in place though.
The gang of Lons quickly picked up on the icicle being’s sudden appearance and darted straight for it.
