Despite what had occurred previously between Iris and Eris, the girl herself felt a bit more content having gotten that despicable fact off of her chest. She didn't quite remember what had transpired after she began to speak, however she simply presumed that she'd been too anxious to recall it properly. Hopefully, things would begin to be a bit easier for the two, since now she would be able to speak to him without the restriction of embarrassment.. For the most part. Her heart wasn't completely at ease, however it was enough to resume a steady enough friendship between them. Besides, she didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about them, so putting on a calmer countenance would go in the girl's favor.
Iris was clad in something different from her typical wear, seeing that the warmer weather no longer required her heavier sweaters. Minnie had quite an eye for modern fashion and had provided her beloved girl with a wonderful wardrobe. She was adorned in a pair of high-waisted shorts, a tank-top type, rosy blouse and a white cardigan that hung over her arms and down her back in a silken fabric. Of course, her combat boots would naturally finish off the look, however they were left on the edge of the shore so that the girl's bare feet could revel in the pleasant sensation the sand brought her, her bare legs also enjoying some fresh air. Gentle breezes conjured by the sea caressed her face, tugging blissfully at the ends of her tousled, wavy hair. Seeing that nobody else was around, the girl felt comfortable enough to do something she rarely did: Sing. Iris inhaled and exhaled as the soft sound of waves lapping against the shore reached her ears, setting a soothing rhythm for her desired song. "Little darlin', it's been a long cold lonely winter," she began softly as she began to stroll along the shore, a blithe smile tugging at the edge of her lips, "Little darlin', it feels like years since it's been here." As she continued to sing, her voice grew louder, the vibrato shining through at the edge of each note with a stylish twist. "Here comes the sun, doot'n doo doo, here comes the sun, and I say, it's all right," the girl continued, her voice overpowering the sound of the waves as she continued to hum the rest of the song in tranquility. It wasn't often that she sang, and assuming that she wasn't performing in front of anyone, she felt comfortable enough to let her sweet voice carry through the wind.

Silas all monsters are human The gentle waves pulled at his bare feet as he stood ankle deep in the water. His eyes were closed blissfully as his fingers caressed the blue cornflower that he had gotten at the library. Silas had wandered around the campus looking for someone to give it to but no one struck him as a friend. Something he was lacking these days. Though he had met those two girls that snowy night, he hadn't seen them since.
Silas was dressed just as he had been in the winter (and every other season cause he's ratchet like that). Silas's dirty blonde hair was uncombed and he couldn't help but ruffle it up every so often. His black skinny jeans rolled up so the water wouldn't get them soggy. He was wearing a black button down shirt (unbuttoned of course) and the sleeves were rolled up to his elbow. Upon his pointer finger rested an old ring of his dads college years, a small treasure that he had been given by him before he departed to Foresta.
His eyes fell upon the little waves as the licked at the bottom of his rolled up pants. Silas sighed and stepped out of the water, the sand clinging to his feet as he started walking along the shoreline with his black high tops in hand. He stared at his feet and felt like he didn't have a care in the world, a feeling he desired to feel much more now a days.
Silas glanced up and saw a silhouette sitting on the beach, a exquisite singing voice danced to his ears and he felt a ping of identification; the voice was that of one of his only friends, Iris! Silas called out to her, "Heyoooo, Iris! It's me, Silas!" His free hand moved behind his back, the blue flower hidden from her so it would be a nice surprise.

Iris jolted out of habit as a voice sounded nearby, cupping a hand over her mouth to prevent her from singing even just one more note. "O-Oh, u-um," she murmured absently, turning around to face the young man now approaching her with a bit of embarrassment upon her features. Rarely had anyone heard her sing, and she dearly hoped that he hadn't. She recalled him from the night at the rose garden, when he'd introduced her to the world of colors again. Her expression ignited considerably despite her habitual yet subtle quivering, "H-Hello Silas." The girl hadn't really gotten to know him that well yet, but based on his previous actions, he was rather friendly. Besides, she'd been wanting to try and test out her socializing skills a bit further with those she was remotely familiar with. Inhaling and exhaling deeply, Iris began to slowly close the distance between them with soft steps forward, until there was a comfortable amount of space remaining.
"H-How.. H-How have you b-been d-doing?" she asked, actually being the one to instigate conversation for one of the only times in her life. It was a challenge, surely, but that didn't deter her from the task. She managed to beam gently at the boy as well, having to tilt her head upwards ever so slightly to meet his taller gaze. These gradual steps were the beginnings of something much larger she was aiming for, so for now, this would suffice. Although Iris' thoughts continued to linger on whether or not he heard her sing with anxious, fragmented mental statements, she attempted to brush it off and focus on the ordeal at hand. She briefly noticed how one of his hands was awkwardly positioned behind his back, but assuming that it might've been an injury or something personal, she chose not to comment on it, steadying her emerald eyes to interlock with his. Absent-mindedly, she combed her fingers through her long, wavy locks, adjusting her white cardigan as well. Basic actions such as these often kept her grounded and focused on conversations, surprisingly enough.

Silas all monsters are human
Silas slowed down when she started towards him. He had not seen her since that day in the rose garden, but by the way she was holding herself up he could tell that she was getting progressively better at talking to people. Not only that, but she wasn't rubbing her fingers on that necklace she had on before. His eyes wandered past her and saw that this time they were alone,, whereas last time the other girl had been there to catch them when awkward moments started to appear.
As they both came to a stop, Silas suddenly remembered how she was unable to see colors and how happy his illusions had made her. Though he had just awoken from a nap, he decided to hold off on the illusion for now. Also since he had started getting minor headaches after he made them and he noticed that he would need more sleep to feel fine again. Silas had begun to worry that making illusions every day would soon come to a stop if his head aches were to get worse.
"H-How.. H-How have you b-been d-doing?"
Silas smiled down at her, "I've been doing quite well, thank you. How have you been? I've heard rumors of kidnappings and one of those rumors had your name in it." He had been hearing all sorts of rumors spreading across the school, but he had not known whether to believe in them or to put them off as someones prank.
Silas rubbed the stem of the cornflower in between his finger an his thumb. The smooth petals brushed on his skin and then he knew what he would make his next illusion look like.

The girl felt fairly comfortable in Silas' company as they spoke, the intimidated fear often wracking her having disappeared for the moment. For once, she didn't have to consider what she was going to say with heavy contemplation, talking freely as one normally would. A smile lit Iris' features as he spoke of his well being, nodding at his returned sentiment, "I-I'm all r-right, thank you." Small talk had been one of the simpler elements to carrying out a successful conversation, thus her stuttering lessened for that brief moment. However, she felt nearly all of the color drain out her face when he spoke of the kidnappers. Had they been the duo she'd seen in the cafe with Olwen? The ones with the ominous colors? And, the fact that it'd been spreading around the school sent a brief surge of nausea and apprehension through her system.
"O-Oh," she mumbled absently, groping for her necklace with her fingers and permitting a few incisions to cut themselves along her fingertips. As the blood streamed down her palms in a sickly yet comforting fashion. Iris despised the fact that her name had drifted throughout the student body's ears, for she was perfectly content with being dismissed as a typical passerby. But, being singled out in this sort of setting also meant that those inexplicably sinister people might know of who she was. Iris kept her eyes fixated determinedly on the ground as she shivered, continuing to speak in an attempt to finish her fragmented statements, worry spreading through her like a poison, "I-I think p-people j-just exaggerated a-a b-bit.." There was no way she could explain or tell Silas what had transpired that day at the cafe, in fear that she'd somehow place him in danger as well. Instead, she continued to run her fingers along the quartz in slight anxiety, glancing at the blood now dripping to the ground with an embarrassed sigh, "S-Sorry.. A-Anyways, u-um... What b-brings you t-to th-the beach?" She returned her gaze to meet his once more, attempting to veer away from the topic as much as possible.

Silas all monsters are human
Silas's eyes caught onto her smile and felt himself get a little happier. His fingers were itching to give her the cornflower now, but the second he mentioned the rumors he saw her eyes fall and her fingers grasp the necklace. His eyes clung to the red beads that glided down her wrist and fall to the sand.
The sight of her blood sent Silas back into his past. To all the times he had caught his twin hurting herself and the times where he would join her. Together they would sit in the barn, their red fingers intertwined, and he would make the most beautiful illusions for her. The scars of these old habits were left upon his arms and he would often run his fingers across them at night. Remembering how the action would bring him closer to his sister. But those were things of the past, something he had not done in ages.
Silas looked at Iris and reached his hand forward, pulling her fingers away from the necklace. He gently opened up her fingers and slid the blue flower into her hand.
"I came so I could give this to you. Since you're one of the few people I'm friends with here."

Iris' facial features seemed to sink ever so slightly as Silas remained silent to her haphazardly formed question, her eyes following his hand as he reached out towards her. Like Eris, he didn't seem comfortable with her eerie method of release, and she could only watch as he pried her fingers open. "W-Wait, Silas, u-um, you'll g-get blood o-on your h-hand," she murmured worriedly, about to pull her fingers away from him, however the action never occurred as a blue carnation was slid discreetly into her palm. The girl gazed at it in awe, speaking softly with a sense of admiration in her voice, "I-It's.. B-Beautiful." It reminded her of the flower she'd discovered at the dining hall not too long ago, and she began to wonder if someone had placed them strategically for students to happen upon them. However, she shook herself out of her thoughts to peer back up towards Silas, continuing, "R-Really? Th-That is v-very kind o-of you.. Th-Thank you!" Rarely had anyone done anything for her without asking first, so the gesture of kindness truly was acknowledged highly by the girl.
Having dismissed her darker thoughts, Iris was capable of pulling her lips into a delicate smile once more, even with the blood trailing off of her hand. "O-Oh, please b-be careful," she murmured, placing her thin, untainted hand upon his wrist to separate his hand from her bloodied one, "I w-would not w-want you t-to g-get d-dirty because o-of me.. I-I'm sorry about th-that.." She cast him an apologetic glance with her expressive eyes as well as she tried to revert the conversation to something far more jubilant, "B-But really, th-thank you s-so much.. N-Nobody's ever d-done something l-like this f-for me b-before! A-And even though I-I can't really s-see th-the color, i-it's still v-very pretty with its sh-shape, and i-it feels s-so soft.. P-Plus, I'm s-sure you h-have more f-friends th-than you realize, s-since y-you're very nice a-and social." Realizing that she was rambling a bit, she glanced at the ground with just a tint of a blush upon her cheeks in humiliation, mumbling another apology from her lips.

Silas Lost but never alone
His eyes lit up as she thanked him for the flower, her smile made him feel even better about making the decision to save the flower for her instead of handing it off to a stranger. Silas let his eyes fall to her hand as she gently pulled it out of his own, a few parts of his fingers were smeared with her blood but that didn't bother him one bit.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a napkin to wipe off his hand and handed it off to her so she could wipe the blood off of her hand and stop the bleeding from her own fingers. Silas looked back up and out to the water as she reminded him that she couldn't see the bright blue of the cornflower, so he changed that. He solely focused on the little flower and made am unnoticeable illusion to anyone but her so that she could see the colors.
As he did this, a soft breeze from the water ran through their hair and pulled one of her hairs out from behind her ear. Without really thinking about it, his hand moved out and put it back into place. The second the simple action was done he felt his face gradually heat up and he turned towards the water so she wouldn't notice.
He ran his own fingers through his hair and slowly sat down on the beach. His knees became a resting place for his arms as he watched the waves quietly before speaking, "That's the thing about people, I could be the kindest guy in the world but no one would know that unless they gave me the chance. Most people don't."

Eris wasn't exactly sure how he ended up near the beach, it was a thought that confused him even as his tennis shoes dug into the sand and he almost fell flat on his face from the sudden change in footing. Eris, you're so graceful. "I should expect no less from you." Eris said out-loud as his eyes scanned the water. If he really wanted too he could get Gaia and Poseidon to practice their elements today. It was with those thoughts that he looked to his right and spotted a familiar face, the other person she was with though the young man didn't necessarily recognize. Is that a cute boy? Suddenly feeling annoyed, Eris started to walk toward them with his messenger bag in tow, stopping in his tracks when the boy that Iris was with had pushed her hair back.
Swallowing hard, Eris walked up to the two people. "Hello," he said to both of them quite simply - watching Iris for her reaction to him. He couldn't quite process why he was feeling so frustrated, it wasn't like he had caught them kissing or anything like that. It's because you like her, Eris. "Can you not say that?" Eris suddenly said out loud, giving in to his usual habit of talking to the souls in his mind even when no one else could hear them. You should beat him up, "Stop it, Leto." Eris then said with a surprising hint of annoyance - uncommon for a boy who barely expressed any emotion at all.

After receiving the napkins, Iris emitted a sigh of embarrassment, but brushed off the thoughts as she nodded to the boy in gratitude. It wasn't until his fingers pushed her hair back into place that she jolted a bit out of habit, her features growing unnaturally warm. She hadn't been particularly bothered by the breeze, yet Silas' gesture was hard to miss. Her eyes flickered towards him as he stared at the rippling waves, murmuring gently as her hand gingerly traced over the strands of her hair he'd touched, "U-Um.. Th-Thank you." The girl then observed him as he sat, listening thoughtfully to his words despite the slight blush tinting her otherwise porcelain cheeks. "P-People are t-terrible l-like that.. B-But if y-you r-reach out t-to them, I-I think y-you can m-make a l-lot of f-friends, I-I mean y-you're--" she began, however nearly having a heart attack as Eris approached the duo from behind. Clutching a hand over her heart as she whirled around to face him, she said uneasily, "O-Oh, i-it's you, E-Eris.. S-Sorry, y-you surprised m-me.. H-Hi." The girl managed a small smile towards him before returning her gaze to Silas. Oddly enough, Eris' tone had grown quite sharp in comparison to the other times he spoke to to himself and the souls, which caused Iris to furrow her brow in bewilderment.
Noticing that he hadn't necessarily acknowledged Silas, the girl perked up a bit, muttering a brief apology before gesturing her hands towards the blonde-haired boy. "E-Eris, this is Silas.. A-And Silas, th-this is my f-friend E-Eris," she introduced, feeling a bit disconcerted with Eris' gaze locked upon her. Before she could inquire what was troubling him, her eyes were drawn to something brilliantly hued within her hands. With a sharp intake of breath, the girl felt a true, genuine, white smile elate her features, "O-Oh, Silas! I-I see i-it, the f-flower you g-gave m-me is blue! I-It's so pretty! Th-Thank you!" A faint bout of laughter coursed through her for a brief moment as she observed the bright carnation with awe, turning it over and over again in her thin fingers. In a sea of monotonous shades, any sight of color brought an inexplicably powerful sense of jubilee. Reverting her expressive, green eyes to rest upon Eris, she held it out towards him, attempting to lift his spirits with the flower as it had hers, "I-Isn't it l-lovely, E-Eris? I-I know y-you can already s-see i-its color without S-Silas' help, b-but I find it stunning, d-don't you?." As the water rose up towards her, she instinctively took a few steps away from it, and in this process had established herself between the two boys, keeping her arm slightly outstretched towards Eris still and absently rubbing her once bloodied fingers together to dissipate the last few drops that slid onto the ground.

Silas Lost but never alone
Silas turned to look up at her as she spoke, his eyes caught onto her reddening cheeks. He looked down for a moment and ran his hand over his face, trying to discreetly make his own redness disappear. "P-People are t-terrible l-like that.. B-But if y-you r-reach out t-to them, I-I think y-you can m-make a l-lot of f-friends, I-I mean y-you're--" Silas turned sharply as he heard another male voice behind them, his eyes fell upon the guy who was known by Iris.
Silas pushed himself up and stood to greet the fellow, but was slightly confused when he angrily muttered to himself; so he just assumed that his ability was something strange. His eyes rose up to Eris's and he smiled weakly, his fingers ran through his hair.
Before he could mutter a hello to Eris, he heard Iris's voice fill with joy as she noticed his illusion for her. The way she showed off the simple but lovely cornflower to the other guy made him so happy.
Even if the little illusion was very meager to what he could do, he didn't want to over do it anymore. Yet, his head was already forming a minor headache and he felt his energy flow from him and into the illusion.
A yawn slipped through his lips as he moved away from the cool water that had been licking his heels. He looked back to Eris, "Pleasure to meet you Eris."

For some reason it bothered Eris how lightly Iris addressed him, he wasn't sure why exactly. It wasn't like they were completely close. It was then the sudden reminder of their last interaction flashed through his mind as Iris had barely managed to get the word kissed out of her mouth, from there it was only safe for him to assume he had done something stupid. I'd say it was more than stupid. Eris sighed and shook his head, "Oh, just stop that." It was convenient enough that he said that just as Iris was thanking Silas for the flower that he had given her. When she showed him the flower though, Eris noticed the vivid blue for a moment before looking up at Silas as he spoke to him.
Eris was not the type of male to want to assert his dominance or be an 'alpha male,' but there was something about the other boy that had him grinding his teeth. It was the presence of the water that distracted Eris for a moment, causing him to move away from the two noticing how Iris had placed herself between Silas and himself. For some reason as well, the souls stayed silent as Eris observed all of this. "The flower is nice," Eris finally managed to say to the girl with what seemed to be quite a bit of effort.

The girl was experiencing an incredible amount of euphoria as Silas calmly spoke to Eris, hoping dearly that perhaps she could've been the one to give someone else friendship. Hadn't Silas just been speaking about how he desired more companions? The thought of distributing that sort of joy to him raised her spirits exponentially, but it wasn't until Eris spoke that this was altered. A thick layer of tension lay taut in the air, his words strained and anything but elated. Thoughts began to swirl chaotically within the girl's head as she slowly lowered her arm, folding back into herself as she watched Eris. Iris was more or less disappointed and bewildered at his words rather than hurt, having not expected that to occur, especially since he rarely showed any emotion at all. If that was the case, then when he did decide to display feeling, it must've been fairly severe, despite the fact that the words themselves sounded content. The girl lowered her gaze to the sand, now assuming that he'd spoken those words out of courtesy, however his tone suggested that he wasn't approving of her behavior for some reason.
"I-I'm sorry," she murmured to Eris, "I-I didn't m-mean t-to a-annoy you o-or anything.. I-I suppose I-I can g-get b-bothersome a-at times.." Out of habit, she'd begun to take a few, unsteady steps away from him, even considering her presence around him to be the origin of his displeasure. In this process, she'd accidentally yet very lightly bumped her back into Silas' chest, squeaking out a soft apology before returning to her position between them. Her freed hand began to reach for her necklace once more, groping the pale crystals and letting the eerie sense of relief wash over her as she sliced her fingertips open, penetrating the wounds she'd only opened a few moments ago. It was her only method to cope with the heavy air amongst them, and to give herself some sort of reprimand for having been so callous to Eris' disconcerted feelings. "S-So, u-um, Silas," she then continued, attempting to alleviate the rigidness of the moment as blood began to pool in the palm of her hand, "Wh-Where did y-you find th-this flower? E-Eris and I-I actually f-found o-one in th-the Dining H-Hall th-that's kind o-of similar t-to it, b-but I d-didn't really see i-its color."

Silas Lost but never alone
"The flower is nice." Silas pulled on a weak smile, even though he easily noticed how hard it seemed to be for Eris to compliment what he had given Iris. Even if Eris didn't want to like him or befriend him, Silas wanted to make Iris happy by being polite to him.
He looked up at Iris and noticed her expression sadden, her eyes fell down to the ground as she apologized. Silas wanted to tell her that she wasn't being bothersome, but before he opened his mouth she started backing towards him and then finally bumped into him. Silas was going to say something but before he could she grabbed her necklace. The blood that slid down her fingers and formed a pool of blood in the palm of her hand made him go white as a sheet.
Ever since he had stopped cutting, he had found that seeing blood was a trigger for his own need for release. Silas almost wanted to reach out and use Iris's necklace for his own selfish desires. It had been so long since he had felt the blood running down his arm and he couldn't help but wonder how it would feel now, after all these years.
"S-So, u-um, Silas, Wh-Where did y-you find th-this flower? E-Eris and I-I actually f-found o-one in th-the Dining H-Hall th-that's kind o-of similar t-to it, b-but I d-didn't really see i-its color." Silas stared at her blood and then took a small step backwards, his thoughts were circled around her necklace and he knew it. He wanted to get out of there to take his mind off of the unorthodox thoughts but leaving her there so abruptly wasn't like him at all.
He looked away from the two, and almost forgot to answer Iris's question, "I f-found it in the library." Silas couldn't help but stumble over words, he was still going crazy at seeing her blood. He looked up to Iris's eyes and tried to think a way of telling her but nothing came to mind. Hey, you're blood is driving me crazy and now I want to slice up my arms. No, that was surely going to make her feel guilty. He didn't want her to know about his blood thing so he wouldn't tell her that.
"Iris, you... you're driving me crazy right now..."

As Iris started to apologize to him, Eris looked to the girl with a slight bit of confusion drifting through his eyes. "What are you apologizing for?" he asked the girl with an even tone, ignoring Silas for the time being. It was easier to calm himself down when he focused on Iris as compared to the other boy, you're thinking too deep into this. "You should know I do that by now." Eris then said for a moment as he glanced away from Iris. When he was looking back though, Eris noticed the girl bump into Silas - resisting the urge to grit his teeth. The sudden surge of emotion was foreign to him and the young man was having trouble with experiencing such a lack of control.
Being so stuck in his own mind, Iris slicing her fingers escaped him this time and he was more focused on the expressions exchanged between Silas and Iris. Eris, sweetie you need to stop her from hurting herself again. Eris finally glanced down at Iris's bleeding fingers then, only soon enough to hear Silas say something that had the young man looking at the both of them with quite the expression. Not understanding why, Eris moved forward to reach for Iris's upper arm to pull her away from Silas. "Iris, can you come with me? I'm sure your friend will understand. I was wanting to talk to you alone."
