Cade closed his eyes and braced himself for the pain regardless of what section of his face Seren was touching. His breaths were slow since the only source e could retrieve oxygen from was his mouth, distorted cartilage and blood were blocking the airway of his nostrils. Finally, the blind woman warned him when she was ready, he was surprised she didn’t do so without his consent, and placed the disjointed piece of his body back into place. He cringed, but he was able to absorb most of the pain. It didn’t stop him from jumping back to his feet and caressing the part of his face softly. He was hardly a brute that could take a good deal of punishment, but his bones weren’t glass either.
It wasn’t a permanent fix, but it would do for the time being. His nose was quite bruised and bloodied, however, it looked to be in the right place. If a person were to investigate closely they’d probably his nose was off-centered and slightly contorting in the direction that at which Serenity had dislodged it originally. He tested the airways by blowing through his nose, which shot out a few blood clots, but luckily no one in the room could see it.
His face held a grimace for a moment or two as he tried to adjust to his nose working, as though he had just gotten a new one. “Better than plastic surgery, I’ll give you that much” he spoke rather lightly as he fiddled with the bridge of his nose. “If you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a fairy to catch before I become some dragon’s lunch, wish I could fill you in on the details, but as I said, tight schedule!” he announced back at the woman as he fled out the door. Of all places she could flee, where would that be? He’d have to check around the school first, ask anyone if they’ve seen a winged woman, how much could she possibly blend into a crowd?
