Vulpecula wasn't having the best day. Then again, three weeks ago wasn't exactly a walk in the park, but this was almost worse than being experimented on. The day started off normally: she got up, struggled to change herself, and went down to breakfast, where some meatwad tripped her, causing her to faceplant in her eggs. He was now dyed black.
The rest of the day went on awfully slow, because the weatherman had called for 34mph winds and high tides today, translation? Perfect surfing conditions, but alas, she had no board. So, she had walked to town and tried to persuade the surf shop owner that she was fit to ride the waves, but he stubbornly repeated, "Noooooo ridin' fo' you, sistah, wiv an ahm like dat one, you be stranded." She was thoroughly certain that she controlled what she could and could not do, not that greasy pig. So she had watched the others ride the waves without her. In fact, a small surfing competition had broken out among the students and staff. She watched again as scholar versed pupil, and by the third heat, had stolen somebodies surfboard and got out in the water. This'll show him.

Since the surfing competition was so short notice, there weren’t many teachers that could readily volunteer to spectate the event in order to make sure everyone was safe. Cade had a load of free time and felt that he should probably redeem himself before rumours began to form that he was a drunken idiot. He was no lifeguard, but if he spotted anything gone wrong he could always holler for one.
He was out at sea in his kayak, close enough to the surfers so that he could see them, but far enough away to not interfere with the competition. Everything was going quite well, no one had wiped out too harshly yet, but Cade wasn’t exactly expecting anyone to be injured during the event.
Once the end of the second heat came around, Cade pulled in closer to shore since all the surfers were back at the beach. As well, he took this time to relax and take some deep breaths since the large waves were tough on his plastic boat. It was a good work out though, definitely cleared his mind. Though, while he was resting he inspected the shore and noticed a woman taking a surfboard from where it was laid. Cade wouldn’t have a problem with this scene if he hadn’t noticed that the person who left it there was clearly male as he recalled.
Cade was one who could easily identify crime since he was involved with it for a good portion of his life. He began to pursue the woman as he tailgated her surf board. He had no exact proof that she was stealing it, but he had to check since he was an authoritive figure and ignoring such a thing would look bad on his record. “Nice board you got there” he half shouted toward her “I’m a bit into surfing as well, you mind telling me where I could get a board like yours?” he asked seeming legitimately interested.

Vee stopped in her tracks and exhaled slightly out of frustration in this person's pestering about the board. She hadn't payed much attention to it, the surfboard, when she had picked it up. It was...okay, to say the least. It would do, but it wasn't anything special, in fact, if it were a car, it would be a Chevy Nova. So the troublingly genuine interest in the board, well, troubled her. Who was this and why in the Hades did he have to go and inquire about such a substandard board? Obviously, he was trying to pull something, but she just couldn't lay her finger on what. "Yeah, you can pick one up off the corner of Noneyez' and Business. Now, If you wouldn't mind too too terribly, I would like to catch a wave or two before the crazy surf shop guy comes after me." This man's consistant bothering wouldn't keep her from her waves, even if it meant war.

Cade sat in his kayak as he listened to the woman’s explanation and began to contemplate his retaliation. He wasn’t expecting her to give off an actual answer to his question so he gave the girl props for that much. Though, he could see right through her lie still so he thought a more forward approach would be necessary. He eyed her board then looked back at the beach.
“Hm, but why would I want to go all the way to a store when I could instead take one that was lying on the beach unattended?” he questioned suggestively toward the woman. He gave off the sort of glare that signaled that he knew what she was up to.

The man was hopeless. Did he not see that she was not under any circumstances in the mood for his shenanigans? Then the bit about picking up the board off the beach. She naturally reached for her pistol with her right hand, but remembered that she had removed it when she changed into her rashguard. Damn and all I wanted was one wave, without any trouble. But nooo, Vee can't surf worth anything at this point because the universe hated her! She turned towards the kayaking man and aimed her cast at his face. She really didn't want any trouble, but if this meatwad wouldn't leave her alone, the least she could do was tenderize him. "Listen, bub, I could make you a better board out of that driftwood over there than this one. Now, I'm going to go surf, regardless of your wellbeing. You could go and kayak away, like a good lad, or you could chose to drown here in knee-deep waters. Your choice."

Cade noticed the girl’s natural impulse to reach toward her side like a cowboy in a western. It was a quick movement he knew quite well, which meant this student was probably a huge threat if she had a gun on campus and choose to draw it over such a small thing as stealing a surf board. If he came out of this situation without being shot he should probably let the headmistress know about it. Though, with all the things going on within the school already she probably didn’t need another stressful subject put upon her shoulders.
She pointed her cast at his face, but Cade didn’t quiver. He knew that whatever was under her cast meant nothing good for him since Foresta was a school for the gifted and that could mean just about anything from this woman. Though the question was, would she have the nerve to actually kill a man for no reason in a populated area such as the beach? “No it’s your choice, would you really kill a man over a surf board especially one that you detest so much? How about you go for one round and return it before you get yourself into real trouble.” He intended to be a bit harsher to the girl, but she reminded him far too much of himself when he was younger, except he was better at getting away with things like this.
He didn’t move an inch since the girl pointed her arm at his face since he wasn’t afraid of the woman shooting him because he knows that even lower class criminals were smarter than that.

Grinning slightly, she lowered her cast. She had never planned on killing anyone, maybe just ink him a bit; it was all just an elaborate ruse to get her way. It's worked for the past two and a half weeks, and it'll work for awhile. And to believe that she had forgotten the flintlock! Idiot! Then again, wet gunpowder doesn't light, so her wretched arm might be her only way to stay safe.
She eyed the waves before shoving off and wasting her one wave. Dud after dud washed at her, until she felt a strange feeling in her abdomen. The big one. She began going out to the oncoming wave, which towered over her threefold, and came crashing down on her just as quickly. Vee flailed hopelessly as she fell underwater. She saw a large fish swim bye, unlike any in Hawaii. It was easily 9 feet long and velveteen, with rows of teeth, millions of rows of teeth coming right at her. She saw a small amount of her cast undo itself, and the rest flew away. The fis swam for her and the last thing she remembered thinking was, [i[Ai-![/i]

The woman finally was off of the offensive finally and went off to surf. Cade begrudgingly pushed himself back out into the sea to continue watching the surfers. He didn’t like having the girl get her way, but he couldn’t help it he was much more sympathetic toward criminals than he was to normal human beings. He probably should’ve handled the situation much better than he did though.
Anyways, as soon as he got back to the position he was before and began monitoring the surfers once again. His first instinct was to find the girl and make sure she fulfilled her part of the bargain. If she was anything like him when he was young then she wouldn’t follow through with it, which bothered him the most.
When the girl fell off her board, Cade didn’t react too much. He kept his eye on her, but he assumed she would be able to swim. His thoughts completely changed when he noticed a large dark splotch of shade swimming toward her. His eyes widened as he stared at the large silhouetted fish. His first instinct was to grab his whistle and blow it hard followed by an echoing shout “everybody out of the water! We got a creature swimming around!”
Before he assured that everyone escaped from the water, he paddled as fast as he could toward the incident area. He couldn’t believe what was happening, but he didn’t have the time to believe in anything at the moment. However, his one seated kayak could do little to retrieve the girl from the water, he still had to protect her from this fish that no doubt had cruel intentions. Once he arrived, his first instinct was to stab at the fish with his paddle, it might not be the strongest weapon, but it was enough to detract its attention.

Time slowed down. Or maybe, she sped up intensely, making everything seem slower. She couldn't tell, but then again, it really didn't matter. Animal instinct washed over her as the cast was removed. She felt the ink increasing in size and she could only think of one thing; how much she was craving sushi. She resurfaced and and looked around for the fish. The kayaker was poking at it with a paddle. Wow, he really is hopeless. It's a paddle, not a bo staff. She aimed her arm at the delicious looking fish, and began giggling uncontrollably. "Bye bye, fishy!" she gave it the full force of her arm, and watched as it was was knocked back a few feet, clearly dazed. She continued to giggle, as she blasted it again and again. A maniacal smile spread across her face, threatening to split it in two. She would eat well tonight.

Cade continuously slammed his paddle against the hide of the fish trying to ward it off of the student. If only his father could see him now, an ex-gang member trying to fight a fish with a paddle and nothing else, he’d be so proud. The woman rose out of the water and revealed her casted arm. She began a frenzy of shots at the fish with what looked to be ink used as projectiles. No doubt the fish’s fate would have been his if the earlier interaction would have gone south.
Seeing that the student probably had the fish handled he slowly paddled away from the scene since he wouldn’t want to be caught up in the crossfire. “Ah yes, silly me” he whispered to himself as he watched fight making sure that the woman would come out alright. He began to wish he had an ability to exploit as a weapon, he felt a bit useless sitting in his kayak waiting for an outcome. While he was waiting he noticed the change in the woman’s eye colour, he thought it strange and nothing much else. He was prepared to dive in if he had to defuse the situation.

We can do this all day, fishy. Beginning to run low, however, was a bit of a problem. Ok, maybe not. She would have to resort on brute force on this one. Running at dinner, she waved her arms like a madman behind her. She picked the fish out from the water by the torso, pinning its fins by its body. It gnashed its teeth at her, trying to escape to freedom. She simply smiled at its useless efforts. "You'll taste delicious wrapped in rice and seaweed."
She giggled malevolently, and prepared to bash its head into the ground, when it got smaller. No, that wasn't accurate; it transformed into a terrified boy of no more than twelve. She looked at him, who was thankfully clothed, at lost all appetite. She was hungry, not cannibalistic. Dropping the morpher in the water, she inquired furiously, "Why in the hell would you do such a cowardly thing like that? Huh? Pick on the handicapped one? Was that your logic? I could have eaten you for dinner, and had you for leftovers for a year! Yet you picked on moi? Well surprise surprise, You got your little fishy a-" 'I...I...I'm s-s-sorry. P-please don't eat me, I don't taste good, I promise! And...And I'll give you food poisoning!' She calmed down a bit and pushed him into the water. I said a bit, not entirely.

Cade collapsed the double ended paddle as he watched the altercation of the situation. The fish was actually a boy who morphed into the monstrous being. He found it darkly humorous, but showed no expression of it since it was not suited for the occasion based on the role he had to take as a teacher and supervisor. He placed the collapsed paddle into the kayak and dove into the water. Given the tide it would most definitely be pushed back to shore.
Once in the water, Cade swam over to the woman and the small boy and since he wasn’t far from their location it didn’t take long for him to arrive. He stomped his feet into the muddy sand that lied below the surface of the water, standing up straight and in full on teacher mode. He clenched his large hand onto the wrist of the fish morphing boy and shot him a glare of disapproval. “You! If we even consider to let you stay here, you won’t be terrorizing another beach anytime soon, if ever again” he threatened sternly. Of course, he was going to hear out his story first, but he wanted to play off an identity of a no nonsense type of teacher if only to try and fit in with the teaching crowd better.
His head darted back to the woman once he finished with the frightened child. “Errm, good job defusing the situation, I suppose” he spoke unsure of what he should say. He leaned over to her slightly and spoke under his breath so most couldn’t hear what he was going to say “you could also hold on to that surf board, I don’t think that person will miss it. My treat.” He finished with a wink and continued to drag the boy to shore. Cade couldn’t help it, she did help out and he found busting someone for robbery incredibly difficult to do especially someone of her age.

Watching as he dragged the troublemaker off shore, she suddenly remembered about the board. Swimming around for it for a bit, she resurfaced with the busted up board. "Some paint and a little elbow grease, and she'll be ready to go! Thanks, guy." She felt the strangest feeling in her gut, ah, yes, hunger. She took the board with her as she exited the beach, towards the boardwalk area. "Sushi sure sounds good."
